Ever since he's been fired the game has been doing significantly better. Whoever's in charge right now is making better decisions than smedly ever did.

However there are still very clear management and control issues at the company. For starters, they need to fucking figure out how to properly run version control software, merge code, and actually bugfix shit.

The kinds of downtimes, game-breaking bugs, and performance killing issues that crop up every patch is fucking inexcusable for a professional team. This is the kind of quality control I'd expect out of highschool or college students, not people with almost a decade (or more) of experience under their belts. I'm literally blown away by the bugs that get onto the test server, are identified almost instantly, and then let through straight onto the live server.

It's honestly like they don't even give a fuck about fixing bugs until they're on live. Why even have a fucking test server if this is how incompetently it's going to be run?

It initially sold very well because it attracted the DayZ and Rust audience.

Development has been an absolute clusterfuck though; zombies aren't dangerous, hackers are everywhere, performance is garbage, etc. They promised a Zombie Survival game but most of the development has been focused on milking the Battle Royale players for as much as possible in Early Access instead of finishing the game.

They gutted PS2 to make it and most of the playerbase is leaving because of too many unfulfilled promises and general lack of developer competence.

It all sounds super familiar to something, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

There is absolutely not a single good thing about Battle Rifles.

They are horrible at range, i can easily kill things at 3 times longer distance with Reaper or SABR. They are horrible up close.

Middle ground is where they are semi usable, but you will still get rekt by any decent player with a normal gun.

COF bloom is so fucking terrible, and it takes ages for it to settle back. Miss one bullet due to le epin screen shake and you are completely fucked.

It needs 0 standing cof, 0.08 cof bloom and base velocity of 650 m/s to have a purpose.

So I haven't played in a long ass time because this game pisses me off.

I decided to look at the patch notes for shits, giggles, and to see if anything interesting was added. I found this:

There is a fixed number of players that can be rendered simultaneously. If you're drawing snipers on a hill 600m away based on their loadout, you're prioritizing them over someone at medium range in some situations. In busy fights you'll see players popping in once in a while, but in general the proxy system is designed to keep awareness range and threat range pretty well calibrated so you rarely would notice it unless you're really looking and doing specific testcases to see where it breaks.

A general rule seems to be if you get plinked by a sniper and they show up on the kill screen with no head, no weapon and no cosmetics, they're probably so far away they didn't render on your end.

I would aruge that most weapons have the problem of an identical fucking max-damage range of 10 to 15 meters. Almost every single weapon stat in the game has a huge variety, except for max damage ranges, which are practically set in stone.

Some kind of variety or similarity to 10m, 25m, 50m, 65m, 100m, and 150m.kind of maximum damage range set would be better.
SMG /ROF+Damage pistols on the bottom, Shotguns /LMGs /Carbines /Default pistols 2nd, ARs third, Battle Rifles fourth, Low-power snipers 1.35x and 6x semi-auto and all scout rifles fifth, and high powered bolt snipers sixth

The render range is out to 100-300 meters but most weapons stopped dealing any real damage at 50m -- thus all fights become 50m fights, and so boring as fuck.

I finished the battle rifle auraxium. It was the most unpleasant experience.
