dealing with infiltrators edition
Update: heavies get fucked, battle rank increases, jihadism is made easier, battle rifles just might become more than an ironical meme, and more:

Not OP but this fuggin game hasn't worked for me since the patch, it just loads to a black screen then crashes like 5 seconds later. I finally upgraded to an intel cpu and the damn nigger game won't let me play it.
xth for parrots and
Also, is it me or we are getting a new patch now?Just got a 50mb one for some reason.
>Hear BR120 is now live
>Nice, time to start grinding

I don't know why I thought this game would be any different, it's just the same old shit.
Is this new?
Is this to prevent me from RPing as Hans Volter?
yeah, make strong headway into being ok at least.
You can either go the dual pounder route
>1000 for the gun, the rest in suit slot of choice
I'd go kinetic because the pounders have pretty decent range.
Or, you can go the mercy route. Both arms, and a mag upgrade for one, or a few ranks into a suit slot.
there's not a whole lot difference between them. mutilators are the budget choice, or at least it was until the price increases. mercies are decent, but pricey as you should get extended mags for them. same with onslaughts or whatever they're called
Direct hits and lasher tier doorway fights are your realm now. Enemy sunderers and AI harassers are your targets.
Also, you now hunt enemy MAX's.
You can't play them like chainguns. With pounders, you're a squad support weapon, not a supersoldier.

can you make a thread there linking the massive increase in tryhard bolt shits and skillsuits to the HA nerf, call everyone who pushed for the HA nerf a gigantic shitter, and post the resulting tears here?
How long's the patch been up? Couple days?
You have to be a special kind of stupid to expect people to switch classes overnight. Most players don't even know anything happened to their heavy assault shields to begin with. Those that do want to try them out and see if there's any real impact.
Like, fuck. Apply some goddamn common sense bud.
>Map Drawing Update: New Tools! (Text, Arrow, Region)
>Not sure exactly how many tools we are going to have in phase I, but I'll keep adding more until it's time to release. Before you ask me when that will be, let me just say I don't know. We will likely decide this in the upcoming week, so stay tuned!
propatch broke with the patch arc you fucking autistic nerd get to work

to be fair in PS1 that actually meant something- higher BR meant more certification points so maxed-out players could cert into everything at onace
in PS2 BR is just a number because certs are separate and unlimited
>all these madbads upset their game is going to be dead shortly and think shooting rocks/drawing cocks is going to save it
PS1 wasn't nearly perfect and also not free
the issue is that instead of taking the good stuff from PS1 and throwing away the shit, they threw away everything in favor of a battlefeel clone
f2p was the only way PS2 could get off the ground.
The problem came when SOE used all the f2p money from memberships and cosmetics and alpha squad crap and what not and used it to keep pandering to the lowest common denominator instead of making the game actually good.
Didn't help that Smed decided to jump on the zombie survival bandwagon when his company didn't even have a modernized, successful game to keep them going.
>missing the point
>if the game isn't f2p its going to die meme!
If the game was properly made this wouldn't be a fucking problem. The problem with PS2 was that they literally made the game with F2P and battlefield in mind with no regard to the core features of the original game.
>Have a highly unstable, one-of-a-kind game
>Hardcore, loyal, long time fans of its predecessor demanding fixes and changes
>Chance to capitalize on a unique niche in the FPS market and make a groundbreaking war sandbox
>"Hey I know, instead of doing that, let's make a battle royale game disguised as a Zombie survival game and say it's like Star Wars Galaxies!" ~Smedley
Why not strainght P2W? If you can afford a computer capable of keeping over 100 fps all the time, sure you can afford some virtual guns too.
because /y is already filled with lowbies crying about how that BR100 killed them with his P2W guns
can you imagine how fucking abysmal the new player retention rate would be if it really were P2W?
No, the problem was that all the money PS2 was bringing in, was squandered on trying to pimp for the playstation with a PS2 port.
Planetside 2's woes are fundamentally management problems, right from the start. You get idiots in management, you get shitty results, EVERY TIME.
Good managers are 1000x more important than good workers.
And good managers are 100,000x harder to find.
Here, read up
You can thank Sony for that.
Apparently they were also the ones that forced PS2 out the door (on PC anyway). Smed apparently even went over to Japan to try and negotiate more time.
Smedster was as bad at managing PS2 as his bosses were.
Ever since he's been fired the game has been doing significantly better. Whoever's in charge right now is making better decisions than smedly ever did.
However there are still very clear management and control issues at the company. For starters, they need to fucking figure out how to properly run version control software, merge code, and actually bugfix shit.
The kinds of downtimes, game-breaking bugs, and performance killing issues that crop up every patch is fucking inexcusable for a professional team. This is the kind of quality control I'd expect out of highschool or college students, not people with almost a decade (or more) of experience under their belts. I'm literally blown away by the bugs that get onto the test server, are identified almost instantly, and then let through straight onto the live server.
It's honestly like they don't even give a fuck about fixing bugs until they're on live. Why even have a fucking test server if this is how incompetently it's going to be run?
Because, you idiot, the decision was made by sony executives to try and get some 'killer app' pushed onto the playstation ASAP to make it more competitive in the market.
It wasn't a decision made to cater to the lowest common denominator, unless you consider sony executives to be just that.
>"Hey I know, instead of doing that, let's make a battle royale game disguised as a Zombie survival game and say it's like Star Wars Galaxies!" ~Smedley
except isn't H1Z1 doing better financially than ps2? I thought it is or was one of the top steam games.
It initially sold very well because it attracted the DayZ and Rust audience.
Development has been an absolute clusterfuck though; zombies aren't dangerous, hackers are everywhere, performance is garbage, etc. They promised a Zombie Survival game but most of the development has been focused on milking the Battle Royale players for as much as possible in Early Access instead of finishing the game.
They gutted PS2 to make it and most of the playerbase is leaving because of too many unfulfilled promises and general lack of developer competence.
It all sounds super familiar to something, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
not arguing that H1Z1 isn't a steaming pile of shit, I'm just saying I don't think its fair to blame SOE/DBG management for making it, since it, at least by population levels, is blowing ps2 the fuck out. (I'm assuming more players = more revenue which might not be true at all though)
The ps4 release I have no idea, do we have any numbers for populations on it?
I don't remember the last time I looked at PS4 pops, but I know they were posted somewhere.
Last I heard, do to massive single faction overpops and shitty gameplay (lots of basic functions are flat out broken), the population nosedived almost immediately after launch.
never be a girl
will kill self within 2 years
does it have to be this way
UNGL rated as shit. SHIT!!
Holy fuck the drop on that thing makes it unusable. I could throw a grenade further than I could reliably fire that thing without zeroing. Even post zero, the damage is pathetic. There is ZERO reason to take that shit over smoke or a fore-grip.
Yeah, definitely. At least it was only 100 certs.
>the fag said while playing planetside
The most fun I had in this game was when I won 13 honorable 1v1 HA duels in a row with the leader of RO.
I never got another "axaxaxa noob" tell from him. In fact he stopped sending me tells after that :^)
My ping is awful so 1v1'ing anything is pretty much a guaranteed loss.
Killed Daddy with the beamer once while my mates were watching though, we laughed for ages.
>Hero of the Republic
He's a very good player, but was one of the biggest bail/deconstruct/alt+F4 spammers.
Also, he's got however many tens on thousands of kills with HE and lolpods.
Word is him and LazyTR got banned for hacking, in reality they probably just got evicted for never paying the rent (since neither of them work) and now they're bums on the streets of some Russian town.
>Also, he's got however many tens on thousands of kills with HE and lolpods.
Sure, but he is also one of the most scary 1v1 opponents i've ever met in this game.
I saw Lazy a while ago, i don't think he got banned. He never did anything suspicious, just banshee and he prowler faggortry. He isn't even a good pilot.
Miller TR is now 90% russian and winning 100% alerts. Every fight is just prowlers camping the spawn, infiltrators spamming EMP's and giant blobs of MAXes and AI mossies.
If they are holding both Indar and Esamir you may as well log out, because there won't be a single fight where you can leave the spawn room.
Cancer is reaching pre server merge levels.
I think they should go ever further and buff infiltrators again. Double EMP radius or something like that.
No. This thing is so fucking bad i might as well strap C4 to myself and explode.
There is absolutely not a single good thing about Battle Rifles.
They are horrible at range, i can easily kill things at 3 times longer distance with Reaper or SABR. They are horrible up close.
Middle ground is where they are semi usable, but you will still get rekt by any decent player with a normal gun.
COF bloom is so fucking terrible, and it takes ages for it to settle back. Miss one bullet due to le epin screen shake and you are completely fucked.
It needs 0 standing cof, 0.08 cof bloom and base velocity of 650 m/s to have a purpose.
TR are like children they get a single good thing and it gets abused to the point of memes
meanwhile VS and NC pool their broken weapons in short lived pockets of cheese and it takes months to get nerfs
but of course TR take this as an imagined dev bias instead of realizing how poorly they manage their best stuff
Every single fight with TR is tanks shelling bases
TR actually bring their MAXes along from more than one fight even to the point of having MAXes out in the middle of the open fields which no other faction does on the regular like TR does
when Banshees were found out to be great every single fight had at least one or two and since they were on flying vehicles it wasn't a question of "should I pull this for a 1-12?" it was "can I get over to that 1-12 fast enough to farm before it caps?"
>TR are like children they get a single good thing and it gets abused to the point of memes
It's also because Russians play with each other, they run multiple outfit coordinated platoons.
Some of the most cancerous faggot shitter outfits like BRTD are also back.
The Russian tryhard outfits never play the alert, they just camp on the low pop continents, killing uncoordinated BR10's with their prowlers/ESF/boltshitters/heavies.
They don't turn up for the alerts because they know they would get killed and muh k/d'r would go down.
Please. Within 15 meters they have shorter TTK than the fucking Anchor. But you are right about them sucking ass at range. 0 standing COF is needed
>Not being fodder you can farm with impunity
>Waaaah cancer, how dare they
>wraith fury c4 flash
god damn this shit is cheesy
I've been a perpetrator of the generic c4/turbo flash, but that's some next level cheese. There isn't even a chance to fight back. Where is the thrill of the hunt in wraith jihading?
t; recently hopped in a few tanks
i agree that farming lowbies straight off a bus in low-pop fights is dirty
but if you allow me to get close to your bus
or even better, under it :^)in a 48v48, you pretty much deserve it
When I first started playing the game, I actually thought TR was not UP because Miller TR was winning so many alerts. Then I found out it was the players, not the equipment that were carrying us.
I see the janitor is a buttmad TRanny.
>20% velocity nerf (when velocity wasn't its problem)
>range hard cap (render range sniping wasn't accurate unless single shotting, in which case you'd lose big on DPS)
>lowered maneuverability (wasn't in the patch notes, but you could feel it)
Fuck off, shiTR.
If you are going for gaming monitor look get the one with the lowest input lag
Both look great in that matter though acer has faster signal processing
>check someone's profile page
>their unlock column is nothing but level 1 implants
>this is apparently a common thing to see
Wait, do people seriously spend time combining all their implants as soon as they get them?
I don't think I've ever made a charger but once and still haven't run out from dropped standard chargers being enough to run T2/3 implants with below average SPM.
The few times I've combined stuff was to try to get the remaining T4 implants which got me nothing but disappointment.
Most chargers I've found to be useless. I think I only use Battle Hardened, EMP Shield and Regeneration. I'm not sure if I have a level four implant of any of them.
The rest I turn into chargers.
>Gatekeeper gets nerfed
Jesus, can TR keep a good weapon for any amount of time?
course they can. You just can't spam it all the fuckin time and give the Devs the stats they need to nerf it. But not abusing an OP weapon is hard when you need to pad your K/D
So I haven't played in a long ass time because this game pisses me off.
I decided to look at the patch notes for shits, giggles, and to see if anything interesting was added. I found this:
>Awareness based off damage, players who you damage or damage you are calculated as high propriety and are more likely to be rendered to each other
>Infantry awareness/render range now takes loadouts into account, players with a long range weapon in there loadout can be render up to 600 meters away, depending on the weapon; this includes AV MAXs and Sniper Rifles.
From those of you who actually still play the game, is this an improvement? I do seem to remember being killed by invisible shit
There is a fixed number of players that can be rendered simultaneously. If you're drawing snipers on a hill 600m away based on their loadout, you're prioritizing them over someone at medium range in some situations. In busy fights you'll see players popping in once in a while, but in general the proxy system is designed to keep awareness range and threat range pretty well calibrated so you rarely would notice it unless you're really looking and doing specific testcases to see where it breaks.
It's a very good idea, but implemented horribly.
tank mines can't deal damage beyond ~3 m, right? Well fuck you, in high activity areas they won't render until you're that close. Enjoy dying to them, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.
Long-range AV MANA and bolt shits are also invisible half the time. Phalanx turrets too.
Long-range AV MANA and bolt shits are also invisible half the time. Phalanx turrets too.
A general rule seems to be if you get plinked by a sniper and they show up on the kill screen with no head, no weapon and no cosmetics, they're probably so far away they didn't render on your end.
I would aruge that most weapons have the problem of an identical fucking max-damage range of 10 to 15 meters. Almost every single weapon stat in the game has a huge variety, except for max damage ranges, which are practically set in stone.
Some kind of variety or similarity to 10m, 25m, 50m, 65m, 100m, and 150m.kind of maximum damage range set would be better.
SMG /ROF+Damage pistols on the bottom, Shotguns /LMGs /Carbines /Default pistols 2nd, ARs third, Battle Rifles fourth, Low-power snipers 1.35x and 6x semi-auto and all scout rifles fifth, and high powered bolt snipers sixth
The render range is out to 100-300 meters but most weapons stopped dealing any real damage at 50m -- thus all fights become 50m fights, and so boring as fuck.
So the rendering system is still shit, awsome.
I also noticed they added in some new mbt/harraser weapons. They any good? The Aphelion looks like I kills really slow compared to the saron.
Goddamn, was the muzzleflash from snipers always this fucking bright?
>immediately have to drop everything and kill him for the /tell
Just Emerald things.
I swear the Lancer flash wasn't that far in front of the scope in the past, either. Did they introduce a bug in one of the last patches that makes weapon muzzleflash draw in the wrong spot?
I finished the battle rifle auraxium. It was the most unpleasant experience.
SOE managed to create a gun that is dogshit in virtually any situation at any range.
They should remove it from the game so lowbies won't buy it and rage quit after.
The usual; he logged out afterwards. I almost thought he wasn't gonna send a reachcat-related message, but he came through in the end and all was well.
I don't get you people. the BR was one of the most fun auraxes I've done and it's great in all sorts of situations
I care because I'm not good enough to get hate /tells otherwise.
>not bolting all of the day bro now that all the retards think HA was meaningfully nerfed
>49% time spent in skillsuit
how is that even possible
Really? I hated it. The only times I had fun with it was when I was crutching like fuck on the Eidolon's lack of bullet drop and know I would have done way worse with the AMR or Warden.
If nothing else, it forces you to hang back and pick off people from midrange leading to an inflated KDR due to not wanting to risk taking it up close and coming face to face with someone holding a gun that won't start shooting behind you after pulling the trigger twice.
He's Emerald's favorite example of why just pulling a MAX doesn't get you kills. According to DA, in December he played just under seventy hours of PS2 and got a whopping total of 297 kills.
>Really? I hated it.
I used it on resist heavy at all ranges and I loved it. it's so versatile, great for laser hipfiring headshots at close range and picking people off at longer ranges
I'm looking up his stats and it's simply amazing, I mean 11% and 7% acc on SMG?
stats aside I watched some vids on youtube and this guy is a massive dipshit / and or legit mentally ill.
how is he not getting TKd all the time?
returning player here, is bus cloak worth it?
I have deployment shield maxed out already.
So, Is stopped playing a few months back (I still remember the "Sniper Rewvolver" and the AntiMateriel Rifle being introduced).
I used to play quite excessively and have 2 Characters, each with roughly 2000-2500 Certs on addons, improvements and modules alone, not including weapons.
Has anything significant changed?
well I'm loggin in, I'm sure it will be better on my machine.
>I don't get you people. the BR was one of the most fun auraxes I've done and it's great in all sorts of situations
It was horrible, after 700 kills i had to cheat and used it on HA.
The fact that Miller is plagued by never ending TR vehicle zerg made it even worse.
The enemy numbers are irrelevant because they will not detect a small flash in time. With a squad of jihadists you can wreck all enemy ground vehicles.
in terms of playerbase it's almost like that anyway
>log on to my NC alt
>TK someone with ONE bullet during a firefight, clearly a mistake and not intentional
>guy finds me 2 minutes later in the middle if zerg and shoots me in the back witch chump action
whats wrong with these fucking people
Am I the only one to notice very inconsistent xp from the flash scout radar?
I've got it at the second last rank, and sometimes assists flood in, others, they're hardly showing at all. This is all in comparable 48/48 fights.
I like it, but it feels so much worse than proximity, despite having near double the range. Proximity just feels like it tracks better.
I never apologize unless it was clearly my fault. One stray bullet who finishes someone with 1% health is not. In fact, I did them a favor because now they didn't pad some farmer's KDR
>Good players asks for top tier outfits
>You mention GOKU, JOKE and BAX
Are you trolling or are you so bad at the game that you dont understand what a top tier outfit is?
>what a top tier outfit is?
It's the ones who never attack bases, only defend, use overpowered "meta" weapons, and run away when they meet another BR100 because their precious KDR and IVI score might take a hit if they had to fight something else than clueless lowbies
>tfw when V6 ironically
>the other guy gets triggered anyways
>my shit is better than your shit
Bragging about Memerald is like some African dindu bragging about his guerilla bush war taking more skill than the guerilla bush war happening the next country over. Meanwhile, professional militaries are laughing at you.
>messing around with mjolnir harassers on alts with a pal
>both BR10 and 20 respectively
>BR100's from the servers resident farm-fit make sure to v6 every time they get the jump / kill us
This is why this game is dying. Not even insulted, more surprised than anything. Why would you bother?
fuck off, lex
1v1 me in quake, i'll fucking wreck you, kiddo
maybe then you'll understand how fucking pointless your numbers are when the average opponent is playing on a raspberry pi
>All these triggered poorfags who can't live on the East Coast.
I've never seen this much jealousy in quite some time. Well done 3rd worlders. Well done.
You're an AV harasser. You're a hit and run death shitting machine. If you died you deserved it.
The fact that two low BR characters are using the Mjölnir in a coordinated way showed them that those are alts, hence why they V6'd.
Taunting actual lowbies is scum tier though.
>Implying they didn't switch because Coonery is dead
>Being this much in denial
I like to giggle to myself, "ONE IN THE PIPE" and punish a group of enemy crab.
...or just one-shotting some chump to test my parabola skills
You are fun, UBGL. I didn't need no battle rifle augmentation to know that
this is your 4th reply so yeah you do
The problem with the GK isn't that skilled players are performing too well with it, it's that any BR 15 chump can park one on a hill and spam out to render range. It's not exactly enough to make you shit your pants, but take six BR 15 chumps in GKs and you've got a 300 m radius completely locked down.
Of course performance stats don't reflect that. Of course shiTRs on reddit are trying to keep it hidden (and actually even asking for buffs). And of course Daybreak is too retarded to figure it out on their own.
What would be good is a rework of the GK. IMO, it needs higher burst DPS but much bigger CoF bloom.
For example, keeping in line with the TR's "high RoF" trait, you could have a GK that shoots a 12 rocket barrage at 240 RPM. If fired full auto, it has the Vulcan's burst DPS (i.e. not accounting for reload); it's viable as close range panic spam, but the CoF bloom will cause you to miss ~66% of your shots at 100 m. However, click firing it at 120 RPM will let the CoF stay pinpoint accurate.
There you have it. Not completely useless for close-range panic spamming, not point-and-click-tier at long range, but also not useless at range.
>shiTRs already scheming how to buff memekeeper
you disgusting creatures
How about 600 RPM and 4 round mag, but pump action style reload that allows 1 shot every 0.5 seconds after the initial 4? Damage per shot could be adjusted to keep the DPS same.
Today I share a glitch with you.
At the Tawrich Recylcing Plant a sunderer was in full throttle headed towards me, I threw a C4 at the behemoth and detonated as I was being run over.
As this occurred, I noticed a death animation and then somewhat of a revival animation (but not at full health).
Was happened afterwards was a wonderful surprise.
I had fallen through the bottom of the map, at just such an area that an outcropping of rock existed below the surface terrain, which I landed upon.
This was of course near the meat grinder in which both teams stack up in nooks and crannies attempting to suffocate each other with their respective bodies.
As an engineer with an anti-infantry turret, I felt it my duty to fully explore the exploitative variables of this glitch, which were as follows.
- I could shoot enemies, infantry or otherwise, through the invisible ground level.
- I could spot and mark enemies, infantry or otherwise, through the invisible ground level.
- I could not spot through the decor rocks which were visible littering the invisible ground level.
- Enemies (and Allies) were fully aware of both my Squad and Fire Marker.
- After later observing a similar glitch occurring on Esamir, I realized that my rounds were visibly passing through the ground.
- Observing chat, no one seemed the wiser or cared at all.
- No tells were received.
In short, Sunderer ran me over as I was jumping into and detonating quickly placed C4, knocked me through the bottom of the map onto an outcropping on which I could maneuver and attack enemies.
This is known but difficult to reproduce. Falling through the map is one thing, but you have to get caught on part of a prop under the ground too, otherwise you'll just fall to your death. Positioning is seldom good, it IS bannable, and you're vulnerable to explosives anyway.
>lets make the GK a shitty Saron
But that's not what I said in the post. Did you even read it?
>the GK is fine.
Spoken like a true shiTR.
I dare you, play NC/VS tanks for a week, and see if you can still honestly say that the GK is fine.
>git gud and l2drive.
I have ~800 hours in an MBT, and I'm quite confident that I'm one of the five best ps2g tankers.
Dunno, that's just some shitty idea I coughed out in a couple minutes. I guess what you said would work too, given some proper adjustments.
Wasn't aware of any explosive vulnerability, I have fallen through the map before; but never as a result of a suicide.
It's no big whoop really, though you're probably right that it can be reproduced like that intentionally. I think I may have seen it at a Cap Point on a platform.
Yup, that's me; didn't really feel a need to redact any thing on the screen.
I actually had a difficulty getting back to the surface, the outcropping had several slopes where I could've returned to surface, but I was unable to cross back to the other side.
>But that's not what I said in the post.
yeah it is m8. you want to give the GK two modes. a close range mag dump and a long range accurate plink. literally what the Saron is.
>I dare you, play NC/VS tanks for a week, and see if you can still honestly say that the GK is fine.
i Harasser drive all three factions. the GK is in a good spot. l2p.
I can't believe there's still a general for this thread.
I can't believe there's still a game for this company. :^)
Burness, Xander, Yeatts and Muldoon are all part of the original team. Bishop and Sites might be but I'm not sure, and I dunno about the few other code monkeys/artists they have.
Sorry brah but managing a shitty weapon somehow doesn't make the weapon good. There is just no competition for an insanely good rof combined with a great hipfire, good ads accuracy and fast ads speed.
>pull dual kobalt sundy and place in farmers paradise
>no-one gets in the second gun
senpaitachi, it feels so bad.
They'll all hop into the basilisk sundies, but I can't even lure them with the fury. Why do pubs dislike sunderers so much?
but I don't want to waste smedbucks on some flamboyant neon skin and ebic meme horn though. I've got one of the solid colour camos - isn't that enough?
I just want to farm with others okay.
I doubt it was as epic as DIG dropping a platoon to help NC win a fight against TR so that the TR wouldn't win the alert and it would be a draw instead, and this happened literally during the last seconds.
It was breddy good. VS won the continent for TR. They kept NC from taking some base that would've won the alert (NC wouldn't have locked the continent had they taken it). Then TR cucked the VS at Aurora mat lab, winning it all.
>some AC guy switches characters and rage TK's a sundy
>video evidence is taken and posted on reddit
>AC proceeds to damage control
A few months back I remember a couple TR faggots who managed to plant a beacon under some corals between Quartz Ridge and Indar ex, niggers spent the best part of an hour gibbing tanks with AV turret and boltshitting.
>be a pro jihadist
>enemies send well played tells
>allies send good luck or lol epic tells
Is this real life?
