Wii U Recommended list.
Most likely we will make a separate list for VC releases.
Good boy, you got all recent news right.
Hey /nintyg/ kind of freaking out here, I sold my old WiiU with Mario 3D World & Nintendo Land on it, and now the buyer is contacting me (3 weeks after receiving it) and complaining that the games weren't on the console. How could this be? Is he just bullshitting me or what? I did factory reset it before sending but that shouldn't have wiped out the preinstalled games right? I even checked after factory resetting it once to make sure they were still there, so I don't know what the hell is going on...
I did call Nintendo to transfer the NNID from that system to a different one, but that wouldn't transfer preinstalled games would it? I thought this only affected games I bought with my NNID. (I didn't do a system transfer from it at all, just a NNID transfer over the phone.)
Once you transfer games to your new ID, the old Id doesn't have the game anymore. Hell, I heard Nintendo even deletes the older ID but maybe that was just a rumor.
Anyway, that guy is right. The games aren't in his Wii U but in yours. And they can be accessed only by your new NNID, like it happens with Steam, you know.
Does that include preinstalled games though? I assumed they were stuck on the console.
If I have to I can just call in and transfer the NNID back to this guy's console, right? It's a shame because I'll lose one or two games I bought, but it's better than him making a stink and demanding a refund on the entire thing I guess.
>Does that include preinstalled games though? I assumed they were stuck on the console.
Nah, they are still tied to your account once you make the transfer. Misunderstanding like this happen because people still believe the games are totally tied to the console (which is true until you make a tranfer though).
Honestly, I don't know if Nintendo will or can do the transfer back. Try to call them and explain your situation. Otherwise, you can simply buy a cheap physical copy of the game and send it to the guy.
As far as I know, you can log in only in the Miiverse from PC. So no, you can't check. You can check from a 3DS, maybe.
Ah fuck. And I assume the fact that I didn't actually do a system transfer, and simply called Nintendo to transfer the ID, wouldn't matter, and they'd still get removed from the console somehow?
Guess I'll have to try to transfer them back then.
>Ah fuck. And I assume the fact that I didn't actually do a system transfer, and simply called Nintendo to transfer the ID, wouldn't matter, and they'd still get removed from the console somehow?
I guess so. Sorry. But as you said, you can try to transfer them back. If I were you, I'd try to contact Nintendo first though. They are really chill.
Guys I need some help getting wifi to work.
Due to nintendo being ridiculously retarded in the modern realm of public wifi; I'm stuck at a Uni that utilises WPA2-Enterprise encryption which the 3DS can't handle since it requires more than just a password.
I'm trying to use a virtual router; which my phone has already connected to without fail; but the 3DS just seems to be unable to detect it; even when entered manually.
I've tried this with two seperate types of virtual router now; and both times the 3ds is incapable of connection; do you guys have any experience with this?
Yakuza-chan blessed us with his wishful thinking.
1) Nintendo president Kimishima just published his plans for 2016 in news paper Mainichi Shimbun (http://mainichi.jp/articles/20160115...08/020/012000c). Here's the gist:
2) Kimishima says Nintendo wants to surprise fans with new ideas - not build on old ones. Nintendo will in 2016 release “details” on the NX.
3) Kimishima claims the expansion to smartphones and theme parks, but also to movies and TV animes (via character licensing) is progressing.
4) He says it’s vital for Nintendo to experiment with new business models. He confirms the first smartphone app will be rolled out in March.
5) Kimishima promises smartphone apps with Nintendo’s famous characters in 2016. He wants to bring the company’s financials to a new level.
6) The plan is to bring profits to 100 billion yen ($855 million) in “several years”. [Note: that would be 4x of last year's profit.]
>TinyBuild is bringing No Time to Explain to Wii U. That’s according to a classification listing coming from PEGI.
>No Time to Explain, a platform game, started off in 2011 as a browser release. It’s been put out on several systems since then, and it looks like Wii U will be joining in on the fun as well.
Pokken and TP for March
Star Fox for April
Mario & Sonic (Wii U) for August
SMT x FE is kinda twitchy because we don't even have a dub trailer at the moment. Summer title seems more accurate.
Zelda never mamma mia
Smash DLC will fill the February hole in their eyes, as well as Bayonetta 2 rerelease for the smashbabies that couldn't get their hands on it before the scalpers.
When you think about it, Japan is actually a little more fucked than we are. They already have SMT X FE and are getting Ultra Smash later this month to compensate for it.
I still cling to the delusional hope that the Japanese version will include more content to justify the later release and damage control its reception, which then gets updated for NA and PAL via f r e e DLC.
I'd shell out shekels for it then.
The game itself isn't bad, the gameplay is good and the graphics are as good as in MK8.
The problem is the fucking game is too barebones. Hell, it has less content and variety than Game&Wario. The roster is mediocre too.
Some DLC that add modes and characters would change everything though.
I have a hankering for an RPG, but I dropped bravely default maybe 10 hrs in.
Should I start over, or will everything be explained again when I get to the part where the game repeats itself?
Or should I play something else, like fantasy life. I dunno.
>but also to movies and TV animes (via character licensing) is progressing.
I can't think of a nintendo franchise that wouldn't make a viable cartoon; why wasn't this done sooner?
I want to say it's a bit more simple than that.
That's why the cabinet has a console controller instead of a stick.
Any of you fags against removing Denpa Meme and Steel Diver SW and adding the Kirby minigames and Retro City Rampage DX? Provide reasons if you oppose, I gave you two days to test SDSW online and nothing so I assume it's dead and no one cares.
Anyone here with a new 3ds? How is it?
I have a new 3ds XL, and love it, but I'm genuinely debating on the red and blue new 3ds, since I'm such a huge fan, and the swappable faceplates excite me. I'm just worried I wont be able to adjust to the smaller screen. I'm going to keep my new XL as well, for home use i guess.
Y-you don't play Nintendo 3DS outside of your house r-right anon?
>tfw nothing to spend my christmas ninty funbucks on besides DLC
I just fucking hate digital games man.
not that person, but
Why wouldn't you play a portable console on the go? And I don't mean "while you're walking", I mean "when you have time for leisure and are away from home"? Serious question.
Does anybody have any Tomodachi stories?
>friend gives me their copy of Tomodachi
>load up the island with Miis
>Seth Rogen dating Chun Li
>she leaves him and almost immediately starts dating my dad
>breaks up with my dad and starts dating Stone Cold Steve Austin
mm legacy collection on 3ds
what could possibly be taking so long??
Good news everybody, Hackers fucked up and released exploit early, even new firmwares are vulnerable!
>5.5.1: Originally this exploit was thought to be fixed via doing manual code-RE(hence why it was released when it was). However, that was actually wrong due to misreading that code: this exploit works fine as-is on 5.5.1(no testing on 5.5.1 was done before release, only code-RE).
Super Megason is a classic but that Super Joy looks sick.
Denpa Meme is free for the Japanese eshop. It's ok, and cute, but theres way better JRPGs around.
Steel Diver? Eh..... I played the demo but u prefer the first game better.
Wait for reprint of wave 1 etc.
Get used to it. Buy some eshop only games. There's plenty.
America. SNES colors.
Also my last high test magazine finally arrived and it came with three extra DVDs that I'm sure babt would want.
Denpa Meme free game is another one I think.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles for 3ds when?
>buy a fresh copy of xenoblade chronicles x
>reach the part where you fight three grexes
>"The disc could not be read. It might be dirty."
>mfw I know that's bullshit because my Wii U is still very new even though I haven't used it in a while and I'm using a brand new disc
>genuinely can't play the game any further
Shit, what the fuck do I do now? The disc shouldn't need any cleaning, my only hopes are to just let my console cool off for a while by unplugging it. But I don't think it's an overheat issue. Splatoon and Nintendoland work just fine, and I have a new copy of Smash Bros. that I want to play too.
>trade in a handful of old wii games and get $110+ worth of store credit and buy two games for basically free
I'll go back tomorrow and ask if there's any way I can get a digital copy, I still have the receipt and whatnot. But seriously, is there a fix for this? There's no way that a new disc with a fairly new console should mess up.
Bought it straight at a local GameStop. Completely new, case wrapped in plastic and everything.
It was pretty dusty but I don't think it was that extreme. I'm gonna put Smash 4 in there and play it after I get all the updates in, if there are any errors then it's probably the console. But if Xenoblade X doesn't work tomorrow morning, I'm taking it to the store and seeing what they can do. Surely they should be able to replace it with a digital copy, if anything.
Yep, Smash Bros works but Xenoblade Chronicles X is still fucked. Guess I have to visit GameStop again tomorrow to get it sorted out.
Are you guys sure there aren't any quick fixes? This feels like it's either a known issue or should have an easy solution.
Nah, you're going to have to have it replaced. It's got to be a micro-crack. Shit happens to bluray disks more than dvd's because they hold more data and since it's more tightly packed, a very tiny crack can fuck it up. Just have them exchange it.
Yeah. After a decent play session of smash bros, I put the disc in one last time for the hell of it, and it seems like xenoblade crashes with the usual error at any point in the game. Just moments after getting in, bam. Crashes. There's no way in hell that my Wii U is the problem, so here's hoping that it works out when I get a replacement tomorrow. Thanks for the insight.
I recently got a New 3DS XL, and have been obsessively cleaning the ABXY buttons from any stains... I'm concerned that the lettering will fade away. Has anyone had problems with their ABXY letters fading, or will it not be a problem?
TPHD plus amiibo pack up for preorder on the official store, britbongs
So I hear the Shovel knight amiibo can just be scanned through the box. I was thinking of just going into a store and scanning it on my 3DS without buying it, will this unlock all the amiibo relics and such for me?
That's a bit tricky. The stuff the SK amiibo unlocks is customizations for your character. But it's not a "you scan once and you unlock the stuff" case like in Mario Kart 8. It's more similar to Smash 4, you have to scan the amiibo each time to unlock the customization menu.
Basically, you should go to the store and scan the amiibo every time you play.
So if I scan it once, does it link to my save file? Then do I need to scan it each time I want to access the save, or just each time I want to customize my knight? And I'm assuming it has to be the exact same amiibo. I know it sounds kinda dodge that I'm doing this, it's just money is tight right now.
>So if I scan it once, does it link to my save file?
It simply saves the customization data inside the amiibo. It probably stores also data about your save file, not sure about that.
>Then do I need to scan it each time I want to access the save, or just each time I want to customize my knight?
The latter. Your save file is in your 3DS but the data about customization is inside the amiibo.
>And I'm assuming it has to be the exact same amiibo
Yes. If you use a different amiibo, it won't have the same data you stored on the former one.
So if I go to the store and scan it, I can customize my knight there and then basically never again (unless I go back and find the same one)? I was also wondering about the relics, how do they get unlocked? Are they just there when you scan or do you have to somehow 'level up' the amiibo similar to how you feed amiibos in smash?
See, this thread is not specific enough. Other Nintendo generals like Xenoblade, Splatoon or Smash are way more active because they are about one series of games.
Vita general is a drive-by-autism case.
I have the original 3ds. Is there any reason not to just stick with it?
Also, I have Pokemon Y, Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Fire Emblem: Awakening, and all the Professor Layton games that are out in English. I plan on getting Smash to play with a friend.
What other 3ds games that are currently out are worth getting?
>Is there any reason not to just stick with it?
Unless you care for a bigger screen, a second analog stick and slightly better running games, stick with your OG 3DS.
I haven't played it yet. Saw a review that said it was decent to good, but not great. I'm just trying to make a list of games that fit into that niche, after which point I'll look into them further and decide what to buy.
I guess so.
One guy tried to make a Nintendo Online games general but he failed. Smashfags refused to get out of their Memelee comfort zone and all other people seemed not to care.
So you have a few options here:
>Keep the general as it is, just asking faggots not to act like the 13 year olds they are when it comes to piracy
>Making them prove they are not pirating games by posting their collection, which doesn't work on people who just got their 3DSes, or go digital only, and pirates who bought games in the past get a free pass
>Making them stop posting the list by not updating it anymore or killing the general
One of these options is not retarded, can you guess which one it is?
Intellectual property is a modern invention and some of the greatest works of art and literature came from times when there were not only no copyright laws but no laws concerning patents or plagiarism either. People made a living just fine without it. At the same time, the way we think of video games as an industry would have to change dramatically to make "video game development" a feasible way of making a living in the absence of IP laws. I'm not entirely sure what it would look like, but am convinced it is possible. The market itself doesn't carry any moral weight. To claim that it does is to claim Justin Bieber is somehow providing a genuinely more worthwhile service in an hour of singing at a concert or going on a talk show than a paramedic does in a year of saving lives. In the meantime, I am willing to pirate AAA games or games that have been out for five years and made a lot of money or whatever, but reluctant to pirate smaller indie titles. I don't pirate 3DS games though because my 3DS still has the standard firmware and I'm happy with it as-is for now. Anyway...
How did you all feel about A Link Between Worlds? I did the dungeon with the blue clothes that halve the damage you take, pretty early on. Is the rest of the game going to be a cake walk now?
I don't care about philosophical arguments. I know only one basic thing: the money we spend in videogames is used to make more videogames.
I don't give a shit qbout the principle or the moral issues of copyright laws, I only know one thing: less money arrives to publishers, less money arrives to devs and less videogames get made.
I don't live in a fantasy world. Money is needed to make that software too many people don't pay a dime for. No money, less games.
but then how do piracy groups run? They are obviously massive groups with paying jobs too. No piracy jobs could possibly mean an increase in violent crime. And that leads to your mom getting killed by a nigger. Fuck no piracy.
I'm gonna get 2 3ds games pretty soon give me some suggestion. Also i already own TLZ: A Link To The Past and Mario & Luigi : Dream team.Really enjoyed the first one.
P.S. Would love something using the 3d feature!
Played the game a couple of weeks ago.
Loved it, had more fun than I had with ALTTP, but it was, by a long shot, the easiest zelda game.
Avoiding damage is a peese of cake, and the enemies deal lower damage in comparison to previous installments. Carry a blue potion and that's it, you're never dying, not even if you fuck up monumentally.
I'll play hero mode eventually, just not right now. 4x the damage should be very neat, avoiding it should still be easy but once you do get hit it's punishing as hell. I haven't decided whether I'll get the armor upgrades though (red tunic = 1/4 of 4x damage = normal mode with green tunic)
>Piracy is cancer, end of the story.
By the same logic, so is pre-owned games.
But people got real pissy when Microsoft tried to remove the ability to have pre-owned games didn't they.
Pretty big double standard right there if you ask me.
Is anyone else looking forward to play these games ?
>mfw I remember the kooplings american names from the super mario world tv show.
Don't respond to bait.
I'd actually wait and see though, because nintendo gets wierd about what's on sale.
I usually by just VC stuff.
i just wanted to bump this dead ass general
yeah, i guess ill keep waiting. i did wanna buy some vc stuff, namely zero mission and some other gba games, but a 20 dollar discount on an actual wii or ds game is pretty sweet too
trying real hard not to buy devil survivor 2
Just pirate Yokai Watch so you can play it now. When it goes on sale, just use homebrew to transfer your save over to the legit copy.
If it's bad, then you haven't wasted your money.
There's literally no downside!
Sorry man. I also don't know what to get because I'm just waiting for games to come out right now.
I can tell you yokai watch is pretty nice little game to play. Though work keeps me from sitting down and actually playing it for a bit to get into it.
>People made a living just fine without it.
...because there was no easy/instantaneous way to copy their works and they got paid upfront as well. It's also worth noting most painters and writers lived in poverty or required a big patron to survive.
The standards just aren't the same, you ignoramus. It's impossible for your company to recoup production costs if people are pirating your game and not buying merch and even then, buying a $10 plushie doesn't make up for taking a game $49.99 for free from people.
>my Xenoblade Faceplates came in today
>NTR update for N3DS 10.3 emuNAND released on Chinese BBS
>updated to 10.3 emuNAND and bought the Xenoblade Chronicles title screen theme off the JPN theme shop and downloaded a bunch of updates for my pirated games
Is there anything more comfy than this?
>By the same logic, so is pre-owned games.
Not quite, the company got paid for that same copy. No additional copies were made. While not directly beneficial to them, it's not detrimental as piracy because it's not preventing multiple copies from being sold.
And please, don't give me the "but people buy the games they pirated if they like it!!!!1!!" bullshit. It's just not true for the majority of the cases.
You are a pretty based person. By the way, as far as I know, each vidya company has some kind of partnership with stores that sell used games, like Gamestop, so they most likely get a modest slice of profit out of each used copy.
Does a SNES Mini use the same power cord as a regular SNES?
>started play dk 64 on the VC
>allot better at almost everything that I ducked at when u was like 10.
>except for this little faggot.
Litterally worse than Hitler.
>Finally clear the Den of Trials
>One of the guys starts throwing us near the cliff for fun
The world of trusting strangers sure can be stressful sometimes.
>Only 6 votes total
>Only 4 are actually regulars
Guys, let's talk about this seriously. Should we kill off /nintyg/ definitely?
I don't expect /3dsg/ and /wug/ to come back either, both generals were just as dead as /nintyg/ now. The merging helped but just a little and not for long enough. We are at the same slow point of /3dsg/ and /wug/'s last days.
At this point, I don't think this general is needed. The 4 of us that come here daily (I assume one of them is babt) can't bump this shit forever. All the people that come here do it just for recommendations, stuff that our lists already do efficently enough.
Hell, it's like this general is made just to help the lists be updated and nothing else.
Otherwise it's just piratefags or some Vitagen troll posting here. Whoever wants to talk about Wii U, 3DS or Nintendo games in general just goes to /v/ or to /hbg/, where they can circlejerk about being edgy pirates all day. I try to post news here whenever they pop up but it's like pissing in the wind, nobody cares at all.
I think that if /nintyg/ dies, I'll just stick to /v/. All the nintendo generals down here in /vg/ are too many and too different to follow, /feg/, /ssbg/, the splatoon and xenoblade generals... But it's clear there's no place for a single Nintendo general like this one. Plus if /nintyg/ dies, we won't be able to be part of the yearly memeball. Which would be a shame.
So, yeah. What do we do? We kill it?
You make that big wall of text but don't notice that poll was dropped out of nowhere with no description, I would have never noticed if you didn't post this.
Assuming you are not babt falseflagging, which you probably are, what makes you think Vitagen comes here to shitpost? Do you really think people go to hbg to ask for games? Just leave if you don't like the place but don't try and take decisions for the rest of us because you can't handle your own version of reality.
No, that's what makes me mad.
Here's my story:
>Have perfectly working modem
>Suddently it dies
>My company replaces it for free
>Get this sleek new and faster modem
>Too bad it doesn't let me play online on my Wii U
And the most infuriating shit is that I can play all my 360, 3DS and Steam multiplayer games. BUT not on my damn Wii U.
I tried everything. From portfowarding to NAT and DMZ. NOTHING. It refuses to work. It has been months since I last played Smash online, I so mad.
Somehow I can upload Mario Maker levels though.
Basically, I must replace my modem, that's the only way. But now I can't for other reasons.
Do you use a Wifi router? I think I had the same problem, but with my wifi router. I was able to play steam games just fine, but when it came to Mk8 and smash it was just not possible. I later bought a new router and I was able to play them with no problems.
Any of you played Ex Troopers on 3DS?
It sure looks good with it's cell shading but would I be able to play through it without knowing japanese? The big pic states it as blue for "not much japanese needed" but I've been burned by that before on other titles that got too tricky without a full guide.
I just want to make sure it's worth trying
It worked for me and with zero lag as well. Not it simply doesn't work.
My modem is also the router, the wifi is included in it. I even tried to use a standalone Router but since I had to connect it to my main modem anyway, it didn't work. I swear, I tried everything. I entered my modem's settings so many times now my company blocked me from accessing those settings.
Completely missed your poll as it was just thrown in there amid a bunch of shit with no pretext.
Here everyday, few times a day. I mostly skimread now as it's a lot of shit round here, but it's the only thread I actively go to 4Chan for. Discussion when here is good compared to /v/, but I've tried in the past to bring up talk about things on multiple occasions and people will give one or two replies and then ignore it.
A thread can't thrive if all you do is bitch and moan about it all day, but we are too few in numbers to thrive anyway so the place has become more wallowing in negativity, between pitying itself, shitposters and the guys that's chirped up in the last week on some anti-piracy crusade. That's all it is now.
The thread has its ups and downs, Nintendo has faltered as a company not doing much between Iwata passing and its next announcement, the thread follows this trend. It will pick up, not for a long time, but nothing will change in the meantime even if you try to change it. It's still the best place to discuss Nintendo
Mario Golf tips?
Playing World Tour.
The year is 2000+16, Nintendo. They are making the new Zelda look like a sacred piece of art or some shit by not having a single new piece of screenshot of it. Even FFXV has had more screen time than this. Damn right I mad ree reee reeeee.
So is there a point in buying a WiiU this year or should I just wait for the NX?
We don't know what the NX is.
It might be a handheld. It might be a home console but without backwards compatibility. Nobody knows.
So if you want to play Wii U games, especially the ones with online multiplayer before they die, buy a Wii U.
For the same reason Nintendo released the 3DS one year after the DSi. For the same reason Nintendo released the DS when the GBA was still having games.
And most of all, because the 3DS is already 5 years old and its sales are declining in general.
Still, even if the NX turns out to be a home console, it still might not have Backwards compatibility, forcing you to have a Wii U to play Wii U games.
stoppingin to say I'm OP and you should wear me.
Oh yea that handheld that has.... carry the 5, multiply by 10... that 1 Xenoblade port.
Is there any particular reason to own a New 3DS XL if you've already got an Old 3DS XL? The Hyrule Edition is kinda sexy so I'm considering getting one, but I need a way to justify it to myself.
I basically always play with the 3D turned off anyway.
If you want to treat yourself to a nice looking one and just have a plain ol' color then sure. Other than that no because like Anon mentioned it's faster, but in some games only.
I received the latest taiko game for 3ds today. Really shows how shit the lcd is compared to the oled vita. The motion blur is horrendous. Has a few new songs though, so that's nice I guess.
woah there's hyrule for the 3ds? That's basically dynasty warriors right?
Nintendo doesn't do that.
The only reason they show so much of the new FF is to tricked people into thinking that the series isn't dead.
>tfw different Pikachu badges wearing different outfits
In Japan yeah.
Magnolia Arch is fuckin cute.
Edea is old and busted.
This is the intent of sony marketers destroying this general with shitposting like they did with 3dsg.
Trying to force the nintendoom meme.
Sadly for them, we all know the reason this general is dead is vitagen shitposting.
Specially stealth and passive aggressive shitposting, exactly the kind you see in shitgaf.
So don't think for a second that the general being dead means you achieved something or sold a sony electronic, because nintendo discussion is literally everywhere and people just go there instead of wasting time reporting posts.
Brand recognition will help it stay alive for the first month or more, the game being actually good will keep it alive, but I think that's not the case, I hope I'm wrong.
Guys there's a white DS on an italian site (subito.it) for 35 euros, with two games and charger
should I go for it bros, it's been years since I sold my DSi and my first DS was a silver coloured lite version, which I used to play while I was on chemo
I also still have the R4
Alternatively I can waith a few months and buy the 90 euros 2DS and an R4 3DS to play even more games
if there's a particular 3ds game that you want then go ahead and save up for that
i just said that because the r4 you buy might be blocked on a 3ds, currently or in the future, and the ds game library is massive anyway
i obviously can't say for certain whether this is true, but i can't forsee them making any major revisions to the 3ds in the future. a n3ds/xl should be the last 3ds you'd ever have to buy to play everything on it.
So, who here has played Hyrule Warriors? Should I bother with the 3DS version? Windwaker was my favorite Zelda other than LttP, so the addition of those characters makes it a much better sell for me.
guys im looking for a good story driven action rpg with decent action sequences and an open world. my favorite rpgs include witcher and dragon age original, but im looking for something light hearted. does xenoblade x fit this? and if not what do you recommend? even for other systems is fine.
For the open world part Xenoblade's got you covered. It's fucking huge and seamless. The story is kind of short, it has like 15 chapters I think. But there's a lot of side quests to complete and characters to meet if you like to do that sort of thing. I still haven't finished the game because I'm just running around or flying in my skell. I definitely recommend getting the game.
fuck you buddy. you really think you could recommend this shitty game?
Look at this piece of shit floating. What. The. Fuck. Is. Gravity.
I'm debating if I want the 3DS version as well. Are we going to be able to get the 3DS characters on the Wii U end as DLC or whatever? Much rather do that than have two copies.
I'm assuming here. I think all the 3DS version content will eventually be available as DLC on Wii U. But KoeiTecmo are going to wait some months after the 3DS version release before announcing it. Of course, they want as much people as possible to buy the 3DS version, even those who already own it on Wii U. So they'll wait to announce all DLCs for Wii U.
They did the same with the preorder costumes. Some costumes were available only for preorder from different retailers. But after some months, they announced them as DLC.
Hello, /nintyg/. This is my first time here in your thread and I came here in peace.
I will put the outpouring of my pathetic soul under the spoiler, so it won't hurt your eyes.
For my whole life I had Playstation consoles. I loved playing Crash Bandicoot and Spyro when I was small, loved the lightheartedness of those games. The art style of those games, the music, the atmosphere are burnt into my mind, reminding me of the time when everything wasn't as scary and unpredictable as it is now, the time when I imagined my future life easy, bright and interesting. I used to be more connected to everything and everyone around me back then.
So, without further a do.
About a year ago I became interested in Nintendo games and thought about buying a Nintendo console. I really liked the art style, colorfulness and overall lightheartedness of those games. I wonder if they will help me at least temporarily return to my happy place. I really need something cute and bright to immerse me right now.
What makes you playing Nintendo? Is it nostalgia feelings or hunger for something joyous and bright?
What games will you recommend for Wii U and 3DS?
Pre-order these upcoming epic games and get free mamma mia merchandise.
There was one guy that only played easy games because he liked winning since he probably had a terrible life full of failures, but he left some months ago, you would have liked him.
I like Nintendo games, and the third party games that get into their consoles.
Kid Icarus Uprising.
Welcome. We are not that different. I was a Sonyboy during gen 5 and 6. For a lot of reasons, I am now a Nintendude. If you liked games like Crash and Spyro, like I do now as well, you'll feel at home. Nintendo still makes games like all companies used to back in the days.
No other company today manages to entertain me like Nintendo does.
First of all, I recommend you all Virtual Console games you can buy. You missed out a lot of stuff. Then check the recommended lists you might find in this thread.
The good vibes of nintendo certainly help, but I just love the gameplay of most nintendo games. Mario games are often top-notch gameplay-wise.
As for games for Wii U and 3DS, I recommend Pushmo, Shovel Knight, VVVVVV, Kid Icarus Uprising, Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, Smash Bros., Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8.
But to answer your questions, I mostly play Nintendo games because they feel like actual games. Most games nowadays just feel like quick cashgrabs and the only thing going for them is the graphics.
I've asked this before, but why is Wario & Game on this list? The game is terrible. I got it (using MK8's code) expecting a Wario game, and I instead got 4 minigames that not only had nothing to do with Wario, but were also a complete waste of time.
Wii Party U is probably better than it, and I've heard that's terrible as well.
Thank you guys.
I only played Yoshi's Island before and I really liked it.
Now I'm more convinced in getting a Nintendo console.
>Only 4 games
But that's not true.
Well, here goes my usual wall of text.
I'm not going to pretend Game&Wario is a WarioWare game. Because it is not. It is not a microgame collection but a minigame collection. It lacks on content but the few stuff it has is golden.
Game and Wario is first and mostly a game done to show the possibilities of the gamepad. And it does it damn well.
You can count on your fingers the games that actually implement the gamepad that way on Wii U, Zombi U being one of them. Minigames like Gamer, Taxi and Pirates alone are worth the price of the ticket. A very cheap ticket, since the price of the gane is very low. Low price for few content, it is fair.
Comparing G&W to a party gqme is not smart. Sure, G&W has a multiplayer mode, a very fun one at it, hell, pictionary is great with friends. But the best stuff the game has it's in his single player. That's why it has nothing to do with things like Mario Party 10 (which is REALLY shit) or Wii Party.
In the end, G&W has all the funky and wacky charm of older WarioWare games, original games with funny shit happening.
The content itself is small, I'll never deny it. And yet, most minigames are great even when you replay them. Plus, you can collect all gatchapons which is not an easy task at all. Some gatchapons are actually very clever.
So yeah. I recommend G&W to every Wii U owner. It shows the potential of the console and, for its price, it is worth every Wii U's owner time. A very underrated game, shitted on just because "it's not like older WarioWare games". And fuck it, thanks god it is different for once.
I recommend it regardless. Not in the same way I'd recommend must haves like Mario Maker, Tropical Freeze and such. More in a "after you bought all must haves, pick this cherry to put up in the Wii U library cake" way.
Grabbed Rodea Sky Solider today. Found it for $30 at Walmart, with the Wii version. Sold the WiiU version to Gamestop (disc only) for $18, so I basically got the Wii version for $12.
Not bad. Glad I didn't pick it up for $60 a few weeks ago.
who paper jam here
four days left for the country that matters
I actually picked up Bowser's Inside Story after you guys said "It is actually pretty good, especially compared to Partners in Time" and could not have been more bored, so, probably not.
Disappointing, I used to love those games. I unironically loved PiT too.
>Guard the Orb
>Suddenly Crystal Chronicles
>Guy with the orb just goes on ahead leaving everyone behind to die
I hate the internet sometimes.
Maybe there's something more but I finished whatever story they tried to put in there
I enjoyed all of them but unless there's something more I'm missing, the newest one's difficulty just seems too easy and the minigames themselves feel shorter than they've ever been
The remixes are some of the worst in the series as well
have you played project mirai? that's probably the best rhythm game for the 3ds. it's not as good as project diva, though, and since project diva isn't that great to begin with...
Almost thought that was the same one I made.
I personally am, even bought it already on the eShop. Was disappointed with Dream Team, hopefully this one is better.
>implying it's not Theathrythm Curtain Call
Also, fuck those spinning directional notes, i don't even want to imagine how they're like in Ultimate difficulty.
Good post. Upvoted.
Gor died in jail. He had a stroke in the cell and because he's black the police ignored him while the other cell mates tried to help. Gor's family is now suing the state and the officers involved in the incident.
For a fur fag like you try the Sonic games, 3D World, and Captain Toad.
>my weed guy came
How does it feel sucking sick for weed?
Gimme some paper jam mama mias instead.
Because you pirated it.
After watching this, NOPE.
They should have just made it N3DS exclusive instead. I can already see a bunch of negative reviews because of it.
I love how they gave some psychological traits to koopalings. And this is why I don't get when people complain abput Nintendo not creating some OC for their games. Why creating new characters when you already have a lot of characters already that need to be defined more?
Is Majora's Mask constantly on a time schedule?
This isn't comfy at all.
Do you see this motherfucker the same way he sees you? He wants to kill you! He could careless about your comfy.
>time to play some Theathrythm Curtain Call!
>imma do my daily quest clearing
>but first, let's play Shadowlord, gotta practice until i get an All Critical on it
>something something the Rythmia awakened Chaos!
>suddenly i'm on the final battle
>and i unlock Chaos
>and there's no Feral Chaos in sight in the credits
Well, that was rather anti-climatic,
Does anyone here play LBX? I started it yesterday and the protagonist is fucking awful.
Every character is either awful or decent actually.
>being this helpless against trolls
Are you retarded? You deserved that.
>pick him up
>make sure one of you two stands on the top triforce
>position yourself so you can throw him on one of the others
>walk into the third triforce before he can move away
Man the 3DS 3D actually is pretty cool. None of the games I had really used it. But this Mario and Luigi Dream Team looks so neat. Actually looks like you can stick your hand in the scene
Sometimes during battle it like goes really blurry though. Not sure if it is me moving the 3DS slightly or my eyes trying to readjust to it
Looks pretty fucking neato though.
Any other games with nice 3D?
Wait, what happened to the mk8 general? I thought you guys were going strong.
I'm still super upset about them no longer doing Mario Maker generals. There was a lot of good stuff there.
Most of them? Link Between Worlds?
What? No it isn't. I don't know what the fuck that is on top.
I own it.
Uh the one up the top is Cave Story 3D.
Yes, Cave Story 3D tries a bit too hard on the 3D and the depth, making it really hard to do platforming because everything is further away from you than it seems.
Cave Story 3DS eShop is amazing.
Pixel art with depth looks great.
I also recently just got Triforce Heroes. Anyone wanna go?
My FC is 3351-4726-1926
I've played all Zelda's on the 3DS 100%. Including their Hero mode. This is my first time playing TriForce Heroes.
My internet may act up. So forgive my disconnects please.
I just expected more from GameFreak. I guess that was foolish. I'll probably try it again, it just, eh. So BORING.
Anyway, hey guys, why do people never talk about Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon? I picked it up and I am super fucking impressed.
God damn, are there really only 16 upcoming releases for Wii U? I didn't realize things were so dismal. They could at least try to pad the empty space with VC releases, but we all know how that gets treated outside Japan.
That game is next in the list of "I have to remove something from the eShop games because of no space on the list" because it's definitely not worth 15 bucks.
Nintendo doesn't announce upcoming games from that many months away anyways.
What do you want to talk about Dark Moon? It's a game from 3 years ago whose multiplayer is probably dead.
I didn't actually know the game HAD multiplayer. I'm just working through the missions.
I guess people do recommend it fairly frequently. It is just a lot of fun and that surprised me for some reason.
I had assumed that the only reason I remember Luigi's Mansion fondly is because I was a stupid kid with no taste.
>Disrespecting Luigi's Mansion
Both games are well crafted and pretty fun. To say they are bad games is objectively wrong.
Ah my bad.
With my new wi-fi and games I'm ready to do Dark Moon/TriForce Heroes if people are up for it.
>I've played all Zelda's on the 3DS 100%. Including their Hero mode.
The only Zelda i've ever properly finished was the one with the Sky fish, and i'm still having fun with this. You're fine.
What's the best place to look where can I shop for the N3DS plates that still aren't available here in Burgerland? I want muh waifus on my N3DS, and the Happy Home Designer plates make it look like shit.
I would kill for a good Isabelle faceplate. With some cake.
>merchants keep pumping out visual novel-tier FE games
>there'll never be another Advance Wars
I'm only aware of Fox, Zelda Wii U and perhaps even the let down of a crossover weeb game.
>Don't pop the balloons!
>For some reason, they take the item powerup outfits
>Now the aoe on their items is so huge it's impossible for them not to accidentally pop a balloon
Somehow I don't think either of them thought their cunning plan all the way through.
I bet there's a lot of good reaction images from the 4 links.
Ugh, don't remind me. I'm a bit unhappy about how the FE game everyone is talking about is just weeaboo garbage.
