>Tips for new players
You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
Character appearance can be changed later on.
You don't need pawns, but they help.

I just noticed you do different attack strings based on the timing you press buttons
should I always go for the "correct" timing which seems to do heavier attacks, or is it just the difference between heavy and light attacks
Why do armor sets keep appearing in my inventory/storage? I know some are from quests but what about this "Queen's set" and stuff?
I don't want to use pre-order or "Pay 5 dollars for this armor set" stuff that may have been included in DA, that's cheating.
Which armor sets should I avoid to avoid cheating?
>still no dithering guide
I feel betrayed by that guy.
What is that?
I like having a variety of classes so I use a full party. So far the only annoyance is not being able to find a half decent Sorcerer pre-made. Starting to regret making my main pawn a fighter too.
That is literally a week of groceries for me. Fuck you.
Okay thanks, will it continue to randomly pop in or should it have stopped by now? If it's not going to keep popping up I'll just throw it all away and not need to worry about it in the future.
I've been playing this game for 1 week and this is what I got.
I think you mean the LightAttack,Pause,LightA,LA,LA thing instead of just mashing LA, right? Or holding heavyattack and getting something different.
I learned that every animation as a different point when it's interruptable, meaning you can interrupt it by jumping and cancel the animation so you faster in executing stuff.
Look at this for example!
this works because some attacks animation can be interrupted after some time
I heard theres also some shit going on with spellcastig that allows you to cast out extra projectiles if you time it right you releasing a spell, but I don't recal what exactly it was.
>Not already having the game pirated and playing it at 120+ FPS
>haven't slept in 30 hours
>too excited to sleep
>know i'm going to pass out after a couple of hours of play
I don't deserve this.
can't really answer that. vocations rank up depending on the number of discipline points you gather as that vocation. you get discipline points as a percentage of all xp gains, the lower the xp gain the higher the percentage of it that you get as dp. This means that if you switch vocations at low level and go slaying minibosses and doing quests you'll get a lot more levels before you have the vocation maxed than if you switch at high level and go around farming goblins, wolves, cows or other trash that gives 2 digit xp rewards
If you want rents then make the better looking one your pawn since that's what people will see and for plenty of people looks could very possibly be the decider between pawns A and B.
I spent a while on my pawn but don't really care much about my arisen since i'm wearing a helmet like 80+% of the time anyway.
>CE to circumvent a central game mechanic.
I told you about CE man..
All pf these are dlc/bonus items:
Tiara of Enlightenment
Robe of Enlightenment
Lady's Trek Wear
Fop's Trek Wear
The Lion's Spine
By the way, you can rebuy them at the forger's.
Get Ring of Perseverance at the start if you really want to bother with that, kill enemies under 100xp for best dcp rate per xp (there are diminishing returns for dcp over 100xp). So make a 4man party and kill goblins, oxen, wolves - all that gud shit.
There are different dcp thresholds for different classes and their lvl ups, you can look those up.
>want to make a trap mage as my pawn
>realize mages wear dresses anyway
>the only thing I can really do to sell the 'trap' part is give him qt hair and make him really effeminate in the face
You could also just get cheat engine and bump up your level in those classes you just want the augments from without raising any dcp or xp without minor to major messing up of statgains.
So you can play the class you want to play all comfy like while having all the other good augments from vocations you don't even like - its straight up cheating though, so not everyone will like that approach.
I agree, but have you seen the stats on the Queen set? They're ridiculous.
>how much can I sell em for?
You can sell them for quite a lot. Money isn't a very big deal in DD though. You wont gain a big advantage by selling them.
>why do they keep popping up one after one?
Expanding on what >>128645504 said I hope you aren't one of those autsits that read about minmaxing and went crazy over it without ever having even reached 200 but if you are keep in mind that with the eternal ferrystone you can always just keep an eye on your xp and change vocation to the one whose stats you want when you're about to level up, then change vocation back to the one you want to gather dp for after that.
Guys important question!
Stomach or no stomach?
I cant even believe how unintentionally fantastic this turned out.
>do not use DLC items they are OP
So you're saying I should use DLC items
stomach. having plate armor that leaves the belly exposed is completely stupid. Saying it's stylistically designed to be that way and exposing the tummy is better than having some padding or mail there
When do I start getting armor that isn't just a tiny increase the defense? I don't want just cotton shirt or leather shirt, where's the magic shit?
>steam doesn't update at midnight
ranger potentially outputs the most dps
sorcerer is all around more useful though simply for elemental weaknesses and bolide/gicel have a sizable phys damage component
people have done hybrid damage rangers in the past but they're only really effective at level 200
and when you're level 200 it doesn't even matter because steamroll
This actually sounds pretty good to me, plus disability pay for life... the question is how to set up office supplies in a way such as to believable decapitate a human foot due to company's negligence.
So I could use some Riftshekels, not that anyone will be playing on PS3 after today.
I currently have my Pawn as a Sorcerer with High Ingle, High Comestion, High Fulmination and High Voidspell only, because I don't dual cast and I hate when Pawns do retarded shit like cast Gicel at Cursed Dragons.
So far she's only gotten hired twice in 60 hours of gameplay, although both reviews were good and twice in 60 hours is still probably higher than average.
Anyway, my question is, should I just slap Gicel and some other shit spell on her so other people can dual cast with her, and if so, should I go the whole Utilitarian/ x route?
Aniki hasn't woken up yet!
He might miss the launch!
Clap your hands to wake up Aniki!
Clap your hands and shout
B-but I didn't end up doing the madeline quests ;_;
Which is stupid as hell because she didn't even give me any quests and I needed to do this entire other quest.
Fuck it, I might as well just restart and use a goddamn walkthrough. This whole obtuse quest system is dumb.
>That is literally a week of groceries for me.
Hey, I feel like I'm doing pretty damn good using 25 bucks per week on my groceries.
What kind of stuff do you eat and where do you shop? I get rice and canned goods, and various dried beans from walmart.
Here is a dragon's dogma picture so I'm still on topic.
Also, discuss Brontide.
Anyone know if pawns use all brontide levels correctly on PC version?
I am actually stressing out about the release and the world seeing and judging my pawn... I almost want to keep her locked up and never let anything bad happen to her or have anyone tell her she's not wonderful.
Is this what parenting is like?
>implying a bleating she-goat isn't better than a harlot with an Everfall vagina
right, I forgot there's a heavy attack button because it seems useless
with the sword normal attack chain seems to be just three slashes, when delaying, it's slash -> overhead swing -> double slash -> upward swing
Just bear in mind that everyone's pawns will be relatively shit for the first day or two since they'll all have zero bestiary knowledge/map knowledge/no training they'll have nothing but inclinations.
So just don't worry about it too much. From my brief stint here last year if someone has a problem with your pawn they'll let you know and you can work on fixing it. I got nothing but constructive feedback when I was here last.
Oh, forgot my image.
that's the good eightgh of parenting. the rest is hardly getting any sleep, weeping for your now impossible dreams and being annoyed by your kids being physiologically incapable of shutting up or sitting still for a minute.
I eat a lot of sweet potato, it's extremely nutritious and very cheap, 66 cents a pound on sale and just a bit will help fill you up well. I buy whole turkeys after thanksgiving/christmas so they're dirt cheap since the stores want to get rid of them, and I eat a lot of organ meat which is also cheap. Beans and rice are a staple for me too. Farmers markets are a god send for veggies. Make sure you price match at Walmart, get a bunch of flyers from every local store mailed or online and make a list of what stuff is cheap there. I've gotten a freezer full of broccoli for 40 cents a crown that way.
But anyway, video games. what skills are recommended for the magick bow? I just got vortex arrow and I love it, though I can't see it being any use on boss monsters. Explosive rivet is also really fun and pairs well with vortex arrow, while still being useful on bosses. Not sure about my last slot, people said ricochet hunter was good but even in super tight spaces I didn't really feel it was doing that much.
Is this too dark?
Whoops, I just rolled that into the ENBseries guide I made. When I update it I'll go into it in more detail. But for the moment;
Simply put: Install ENBseries, install my settings, and then open up the enbseries.ini file and set everything under [EFFECT] to false. That will add no extra effects but use the altered shader I made with the dithering added to it.
Why would you train a ranger to do anything but use it's bow? Longbows are amazingly powerful and the central strength of the ranger class. If you want climbing, make 'em go Strider.
People love Strider pawns.
I'm a newfag I don't know shit about vocations. I just thought Ranger would have better stats or something.
Though I'll leave it as Strider for climbing. Gonna make a speedy little cunt.
>muh brown girls
>in a game that doesn't have an anime style
Your pawns are shit and so are you, keep niggers and children out of the Rift.
Amazons and handsome men are the only acceptable pawnfu.
climbing is what striders are for. making a ranger climb is a complete wast of the class as the longbow is what sets it apart from the strider and it's really damn good thanks to tenfold alone
I'm gonna call work in like 30mins, say I was puking all morning. I haven't taken a sick day since last may, so it's not like I call in sick every week.
unlike some of our team members.....
>fighting the devilfire grove drake
>bring it down to 1 health bar
>chickenshit fucker just said fuck you and flew away
That never happened before, I'm mad as fuck this is some griffin style bullshit.
Each vocation has their own stat growth, and Ranger excels in Stamina growth because it gains +30 per level, the highest of any vocation.
Strider's stat gains are pretty much equal across the board. The Shortbow is less suited for usage as a main weapon than the Longbow is, and Striders also get skills that really shine when climbing monsters.
Ranger's all about raw power. Strider's all about versatility.
Ocassionally I find myself in situations where i'm not 100% sure how to progress, any tips?
I'll get quests that lead to areas way off the map, pretty early on, and the paths there are crawling with drakes and dragons, that I'm clearly not supposed to be fighting yet.. but usually those quests are escorts, meaning I'm kinda locked in when I pick them.
In general the game is kinda vague about what I should do in most of the quests and which I should take, even moreso. I'm still having fun it's just kinda frustrating running back and forth across the whole map to get quests from specific notice boards and then finding out they want me to travel to the other side of the map without dying to turbo dick dinosaurs
There is only one suit that he belongs in.
For the best experience, complete base game, the earn back your heart in ng+, then do BBI.
You'll be at an appropriate level and the story will make more sense. You may even identify with the antagonist.
When will capcom stop blueballing the white man and release DDO in the west. I would pay 100 fucking dollars a month please
>Thrown in jail
>This fucker laughing at me
>Get out of cell, pick him up, throw him into the cell
>Not on a christian image board
He disappeared from court for a while and then would run from me every time I showed up. Felt good man.
Look would you faggots just tell me whether you'd rather hire a Sorcerer with four useful spells, or a Sorcerer with four useful spells and two shitty ones that you can dual cast with?
Don't mind me.
0-3: Stay Ranger like I was on PS3
7-9: Mystic Knight bois
That aint going to stop my anime experience son.
You rolled the right choice. Guts would be proud.
Found him, nothing got dragon forged even though almost all my shit is fully upgraded.
Fuck this drake so much.
>nothing got dragon forged even though almost all my shit is fully upgraded.
Sounds about right. Killing him while low level is just a bragging rights/epic battle thing. Dragonforged shit is just a bonus if you get lucky.
It's probably faster to just level up and fight the super high dragonforge chance enemies in BBI than to try farming that shit at low level.
What I mean is the 3DPD aesthetic. This game has a profoundly realistic art-style, you would have to do everything from the ground up basically in regards to this game to make it look anything like an anime.
getting released in 4 hours btw
>pirated the leak
>played it for a few hours
>purchased the game on steam i can count on my hand the number of times a game has caused me pirate's remorse and this is one of them 5 hours to go
>start torrenting the game a couple of days ago
>change mind before the download finishes and decide to keep waiting
>Get to Gran Soren
>Find roof access
>Flipping around, leaping from building to building
>Come across a large gap
>I am a little girl
>I am a strider
>This gap was made for me
>Reach the gap
>The wind blows back my auburn hair as I soar
>It becomes increasingly evident that I have made an error
>The grossest, bone-shattering, crunch plays as I meteor dive the cobblestone below
>1 hp, my girl picks herself up, begins dragging her broken body to the inn to rest, knowing that the physical form will heal, but the spirit never will
>Suddenly, the sound of a bag pf flesh being dropped from great heights erupts behind me
>THEY HOLD THE ADVANTAGE
>Yes Bernard, gravity does hold the advantage. Much more so than I can hold back the tears of my laughter
>already interested in the game
>decided to wait like a week after release to buy it so I can be sure there aren't any serious issues with the port
>pirated the leak
>played it enough to personally confirm it's a good port
>uninstalled the leak and preordered the game
That's how I feel, but I suspect noobs would see a Pawn with only 4 skills and assume she's shit.
No, she'll still be a Sorcerer, just with Ingle, Comestion, Voidspell, and Fulmination.
You know, something like 55% of turkey is bone? I think I did a calculation in the store while I was shopping, and it was about the same per pound as chicken breasts were. It's efficient if you're willing to make stock from the bones though, and soup from the stock or something. Of course, my prices will likely differ from yours.
Available: 15 January
This game will unlock in approximately 4 hours
where the fuck do you live nigger
in 4h it's steam time, when they refresh the daily sales & such
why would it go live two days after that
>Ingle, Comestion, Voidspell, and Fulmination.
Why? You should add more world-enders, shit if you get the ring upgrade your skills to the Grand version.
I had few exchanges with this Japanese pawn
a slutty jailbait pawnbut damn she wrecks shit.
Q) Will there be a preload? What time exactly is the game launching [*Updated* Jan.8]
A) Pre-load is scheduled to begin later in the evening on Friday, Jan. 8th PST. Game will launch and unlock worldwide on Jan. 15th (Fri) at 9:00AM PST.
I forgot to refresh the store page. ごめなさい...
>Sees Steam downloading
>Thinks the final DD files are downloading 4 hours early
>It's a 3.2gb update for Xrd
Pawns use the physical portion of Ice spells to justify using them on stupid shit like Cursed Dragons, when a fire spell would be stronger. Something about the AI compares damages of spells. I'm guessing it only looks at the nominal values.
No need to apologize anon, we forgive you
for your retardation.
I havent seen any sliders for this surprisingly
I mean, I'm not saying that Neptunia is a good game, but they did 3D with anime stuff.
GG is way, way harder to do. Hell, they manually handled the lighting for every single frame of a model, that's why there aren't mods for it.
Make it count, scrublord.
I usually get them for 10-15 dollars at those times of the year. I butcher them and store them in individual parts rather than just roasting the whole thing. Generally I'll get: 3-5 "breasts" which are generally just boneless cuts of a good size, the liver and kidneys and rarely a heart which make for a side, two legs good for a meal each, two thighs also good for a meal each, two wings for a lighter meat side, the neck and two halfs of the skeleton for soup, a bunch of scrap meat usually good for 2-3 stir fries. I've found it's a very good deal, turkey is also very good for you and I try to eat healthy.
Can I make my Pawn main inclination Utilitarian since the start or should I get 3 Star Bestiary first?
Can anyone tell me how do i change the saturation for Reshade? i keep changing values on the .cfg but nothing happends.
>play warrior and walk into room.
>skeletons spawn. Run over to smack them with my beating stick
>fireball hits me from off screen and takes down half of my health
>turn to charge sorcerer and a second fireball from offscreen kills me
I thought this shit was supposed to be tanky?
Story bosses can only be fought once, but you can find most of the bosses in the wild naturally. Post game also has some alternative versions of bosses. The only special case is Hydra where there are only two and the second one is part of quest I believe.
why is the logo so low-res and pixelated, and why is there a black line next to it? those fucker's are gonna ruin all my screenshots with this shit, aren't they?
Just was about to post. Now that this version doesn't have to deal with micro-transaction and weird re-release issues, I hope it gets the Dark Souls level of community push that it should have.
do I play dragon's dogma with my bros or do I play blade & soul with my crush?
Post more memes so it will release faster.
Probably the only guy on their team besides Jason who would give DD a fair shake. He's quickly becoming one of my favourites honestly.
tfw having to wait until February to buy the game
So, I don't want to play a Rogue or Mage, always playing Warrior or similar classes. But I heard that Warrior is shit and boring in this game, is that true? What should I play then? And starting class Fighter, I guess?
to see if they are worth it
I'm fucking lvl 40 here and I'm told now that Warrior is shit? I mean I'm doing fine but I guess it gets harder in dark arisen
That's exceptionally diligent of you, anon. I usually roast them whole, and me and my family pick them to the bone over a few days. I can't bring myself to devour the organs.
That sort of efficiency and planning makes me hard though.
Just give it a try, if you don't like Warrior you can always switch to somethine else later. Warrior has good HP and Strength growth and some great augments, so leveling as a Warrior is never a bad thing if you like physical classes.
where can I find screenshots in this game, /ddg/?
>80% of the shit you fight in BBI either floats
Oh for fucks sake, even the fucking wolves are annoying as shit, i seriously hate fighting anything that flies or flees.
for fucks sake
If I can find a way to rip the game files, maybe.
Don't outlevel your crush you filthy NEET. Play DD while you wait for the normie to get home. That's what I'm doing with my buddy and Xenoverse.
Capcom is seriously considering a sequel, and the PC sales ride on that hope.
You've helped us get closer to the dream anon.
If you ignore Magic Cannons route, and go full Abyssal Anguish route you will be hitting everything multiple times per swing.
>Every year during E3 /ddg/ waits in anticipation for DD2
>E3 2014/2015 (can't remember)
>Capcom hinting DD announcement
>DDO, japan only
>PC Dogma is top seller for a few weeks already
Will we finally live the dream?
I can guaranfuckingtee PC sales have nothing to do with the possibility of a sequel. No publisher, not even Capcom), judges the viability of developing a sequel on the base of a three years late port to an untested platform.
There's one of two scenarios at work here. Either they don't give a fuck about DD and are just looking for a quick buck, or they've already decided they want to do more and are porting DDDA to raise awareness (like what SEGA did with VC). Which option you want to believe in, that's up to you.
So what will you be, /ddg/?
You can farm low level mobs that don't give much regular xp. Or you can change vocations right before level up.
But why bother for a bunch of levels that don't matter at all in the end.
>install english patch
you can play too anon
Thank you, it's always nice to meet someone who appreciates frugal living. Live like a poor man so you can save like a rich one.
The organs really aren't bad. I understand liver and kidney (they taste nearly identical, though liver has a slightly earthier taste) but heart is actually delicious. If you get a pack of chicken hearts (about a buck 50 a pound) fry them with some butter and garlic, real italian like. Poor man's escargot, I swear.
If you're picking the bones clean you might actually be getting more meat out of it than I am, just portioning it like that tends to help me make it last a lot longer. I slow cook anything with a bone in it, and sometimes the breasts, then separate the fat from the drippings and use them to make some delicious turkey fried rice.
I wish I had a nice recipe for organs for you, they're healthy and save you a lot as an occasional purchase. One good meal will make you feel more comfortable eating them. Best I have for liver is to make chicken liver curry, but I haven't quite perfected it yet.
Boy I sure do like Dragon's Dogma. I'm starting to regret making my main pawn an amazon to offset my loli though. I might just make her a loli too. Double loli.
So how many Uncle Dante's do we have?
I got Vergil covered https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Mi11pfUUrk
I haven't been following it at all, is it out in japan or korea or whatever? Beta maybe? From the little I've seen it looks like it might play a bit like Dungeons and Dragons Online, which makes me moist.
well fuck me, that was an easy solution. thanks anon. Was looking for and not finding a dedicated screenshot folder somewhere in the games file location.
ok let's do this
7: Mystic Knight
9: Magick Archer
0: left number instead
I'm doing picture related, but not too sure about what class. Warrior or Fighter.
also how do Vocations level, as opposed to just your character level
because I read about Mystic Knight on the wiki and there were Augments from Fighter, Warrior, Mage, and Sorceror that were really good to have on it but I don't want to spend any more time dicking around in those classes than I have to
10/10 would hire.
>mfw I was going to do this too
I mean we tried to toss a bit of game stuff in there too. This did all start with discussion of the pirated version anyway. Sorry about that anon.
It's been out in japan for a while and has already had some major updates. It's not in beta.
You can't party with other players until level 8 and some quests anyway (just after your pawn). I'll try to get up early (probably around midnight your time). I'll post in the general when i wake up.
I live in Australia. The vast majority of the game is client side. When i party with other english players (assuming they're american/european) i don't get much lag and from what i've asked neither do they. How you get hurt and hit things is completely client side, you won't get hit from something that looks far away.
You messed that up, let me fix it for you.
0. Warrior w/ Warrior Pawn
Consider Grigori the Tutorial for BBI.
Then go to BBI.
Or go right away for loot and dash funsies.
After you beat Grigs, you open up the post game
Everfall. There are a bunch of rooms there. If you can clear each one, (apart from the online Ur-Dragon), then that's a good barometer of being able to handle BBI. There's also a bunch of good loot to be found, and tons of wakestone's, which you'll need. There are also a couple pawns that sell the equivalent of BBI lvl 1 weapons, which may be a big help for you and your pawns.
Tough choice. I feel Warrior would be a better fit, but Warrior swords are too big to be Chaos.
Grigori the Tutorial? I know nothing about BBI except what an anon said last thread about when to go.
Honestly I might just skip the order and go on my first playthrough, don't want to get burnt out before I go. Level 80, right?
Level 50 is the approx intended level for BBI.
How many levels should I make as a caster vocation to have a decent MAG stat for hybrid classes like Magic Knight and Magic Archer?
I don't care about minmaxing, but I suppose I can't just play as a Strider for 30 levels, switch over to Magic Archer and expect it to be good.
No, quite the contrary, no need to apologize. The occasional off-topic bantz is what makes generals feel good. There's only so much you can discuss the game, a bit of outside stuff is refreshing. Last night we were all trading bands and songs to get hyped to, and I found 3 new bands that I never knew about.
Keep on keeping on, and shine on you crazy diamonds.
For a pawn, anon.
Fighter without a shield would be aesthetically pleasing, but also gimp the poor guy. I guess warrior it is.
Oh neat, I'm level 32 so I'm getting there. Thank anon.
Well that's nice to hear. Usually people get so mad on this board. What a fun thread. I'm going to slow cook some turkey and play some Dragon's Dogma.
So stumbled into this google doc
i think it used to be linked in the old dragons dogma generals?
anyone know if its up to date?
its a pretty good doc, lots of cool info and pretty well done, maybe you could add it to the OP
you need the vpn to access the game but you can turn it off once in game.
Who else is ready to post animal themed file names?
Yeah but it seems fairly tedious just to try the game out even, I mean it's a pretty neat looking game but still. Also how trustworthy are those public vpns anyway?
In addition how is cash shop/group finding? Is cashshop pay2win and is it hard to find groups if you don't know japanese or can you make out the important stuff anyway?
>eat a big chicken dinner to get a protein boost
>it taste a bit funny, but whatever I dont wanna get hungry later when I start gaming
>when I'm done I look at the bag it came in: best before december 31st.
literally explosive diarrhea every fifth minute.
just fucking kill me.
That thing was rotting for half a month anon, fucking RIP.
Ha, reminds me of how I drank half-a-litre of a month-old yoghurt that had been in the bottom of a bag at room temperature for that time.
>Huh, this tastes pretty shitty.
>Well, might as well drink it.
I suffered no consequences thanks to my iron stomach
>Fire like 15 exploding magic arrows into a cyclops' face
>Double jump and hit it once
>It just fucking dies
I played DDO months ago. Got to level 20 something. It was the unspoken rule that you don't speak english in the public channels, make plans for groups in the thread, then meet up and talk in group chat.
But then a bunch of people from gamefaqs and reddit started talking in the public channels and VPN's and how they got around the blocks. Within a week, the majority of the people playing had their accounts banned. Tried making a new account, but got banned within 2 hours.
I just sent you a request on steam since I don't believe you can add an offline player to friends
my character name is in every webm anyway.
Takes under an hour minus the download time to set it all up.
Cash shop is pay2pretty and convenience (more inventory, you can also buy +X% exp boost items). There's no pvp so it doesn't really matter anyway.
Not hard to find a group on the english channel in my experience, everyone very helpful.
I had a fighter pawn (with some warrior levels for HP) in dark arisen PS3 because I was playing a sorcerer and needed someone to take the heat off me.
Turned out to be a bad idea since sorc gameplay was tedium itself, so I'm switching up next time, probably something in the strider family tree.
- What's a good pawn class in this instance? Boring mage healbot? (way more people hired my huge fighter pawn than the mage I had in DA vanilla)
- Strider is the only starter vocation I see people stick with on their Arisen long term, is it really that good/fun?
What do you think will give me the full DMC-lite experience instead of standing on a rock and waiting 2 minutes for my meteors to come down like in my last run
