you should be hitting damage cap without mental breakdown. If you have another IV synergy weapon, it'd probably be better to just bring second dedicated attacker rather than Y'shtola (replace Vanille with Y'sthola for heals so you keep SS2).
And since there is no full break, I assume you're new? It's worth bringing even if you only have two charges.
If you're having trouble reaching damage cap, you could try faith instead of mental breakdown. (or FFXIII halloween hat SB if you've got it).
I think Curaga would be better than Renewing Cure at this fight since the burst healing would be better than the sustained. But I'm not sure.
I also personally like Goblez for this fight, as with Waterja, and a IV 3star ++ synergy weapon he hit damage cap with no buff but chilled at like 5.4K hp or so - so I didn't have to worry about non% damage as much. Your lineup looks rather squishy numbers wise.

I have fullbreak, but I'm a bit short of honing it to r2. I have vanille's medica, and each of the mages have 270+ res. I agree hp is.kind of iffy, but since blaze is unmitigated % max hp damage, thats not all bad. I went with the FireRes ring on yshtola instead of +500 hp for the same reason.
Unfortunately, that's all of my synergy gear. I'll give curaga a shot over the redundant mental BD. I have the Halloween cap, but don't want to spare a mako might effect for it. Also, it was a 40 or 50 res hit to whoever equipped it.

Ever since RK updated to it's current look, I've been having trouble actually using the menu.

You may run out of ability uses on Vaan. As for Cecil, I'm not sure magic lure is going to be very useful, but I had Sentinel's Grimoire, full break and magic breakdown so I didn't have much damage incoming from spells. Bartz would probably be better than Vaan, but you do need to have at least M. Breakdown with that comp, so Cecil might need to be switched out for someone else.
I'd pass one of your Ja spells to Goblez to share the power, unless you know for a fact he's hitting for damage cap with gas. Mine didn't, but I didn't have a 5* synergy, only a lilith rod +

Magic lure sucks. Haste (as a single spell) also sucks. I'd suggest:
kick Cecil to the curb, replace with Rydia. Bring Kirin (if you really want the regen, I dont think you need it though) and some other form of damage. Could be a -ga spell, could be Shiva, whatever, it'll be more than you have now. Then you can switch your RW from Hymn to Emerald Light, to pick up hastega.
Alternatively, kick Cecil out and bring Celes. She's quite tanky, and her innate SB stacks with shellga. Same deal, load her up with damage and bring Eiko RW.

The thing with Tactics is, the story is supposedly being "told" by that Alazam guy 400 years after it's taken place. The ending is already set in stone, and we're told up front that Delita becomes King and history records him as the Hero of the war, while Ramza is remembered as a traitor and heretic. That doesn't leave many options for variation in the story, you'd have to basically re-write everything.

You could always play Tactics Ogre. It's not FF but it was made by the same guys that did FFT and it does have multiple paths.
