No. The merc unlock system is relatively merciful and as long as you're not a compulsive gambler, you can amass credits pretty quick.
There are also loadout cards with different rarity, but those aren't going to make you less shit at the game, and everything above bronze is purely cosmetic

That's what makes it bad. Being forced to shoot slowly will result in the other player simply outgunning you most of the time, if at least it had a decent set of sights instead of that hideous monstrosity then you could potentially fire it at top speed.

or fire support that doesn't give gun food.

Skyhammer and aura are perfect starter mercs.
aura isn't a good all-around medic, she sucks for frontline healing. sawbones can heal on the move, has enough health to take fire while reviving, and has easy to use primaries.

Aura and skyhammer are both fire and forget type mercs with the station/airstrike, between them give access to 4 kinds of weapons and the largest variation of playstyle

I think they could fix some of the issue by giving consumables a durability so if someone only needs like a spare magazine it doesn't take the whole thing away.
When i play arty, I constantly vomit ammo and i still run into team mates who exhaust all their ammo so i'm convinced it's because they're getting used too early.
Unfortunately I only know how to get the cards with Drilled, so my Nader tradeup did not net me an SM41 like how I wanted.

Maybe but there's a lot of downtime between games too, especially when you have to deal with lobbies being emptied every other match. It adds up quickly too, There's a pretty big disparity between my "in-game" time and what steam shows me i've actually logged.
Yeah, but lobby wait time plus loading/warmup is like two minutes max. Unless you're blasting through Objective matches in two minutes nonstop, there's no way you should be hitting <50% time played.

Besides 'aim for the head', so far I've discovered the effectiveness of using smoke to cover plants and delivers.

The nice thing about redeye is all his loadouts are decent. Made a couple cards and got 2nd best grandeur and best PDP.

The BR is decent but I have his best card and still do worse than usual. It takes like 5 hits to kill the EV, even with explody the radius is ultra-small so nest clearing isn't easy and even if you throw ammo everywhere it's a lot more effective to put an ammo station in some concurred area and forget about it, and it also serves as cover/alarm/hallway blocker.
Ammo mercs are useless because there are ammo bins
Medics are pointless because Tough exists, as does tapping out as respawns are about to happen
Snipers are pointless because burst rifles exist
It takes 2+a few mags of BR.

I wouldn't say so. If thunder wasn't shit, both would be used for the same role. But thunder is beyond shit. So...
Rhino is extremely situational, but Nader isn't shit yet it's still not viable to run Nader + fire support as the 2 main DPS players in a team or even double fire support. Frogger is just TOO good to ever be set aside. It has to always be Fragger as main DPS and then Nader or fire support as a mere "2nd DPS".
I actually got decent with the dreiss because i really want to use the CW loadouts

I prefer the hollunds myself. Mostly because I generally miss the first shot, and hollunds has faster fire rate that lets me recover from that. But remburg is supposed to be better.
I like the hollunds more, but the remburger has a lot less "single digit percent health left" scenarios.
If you tend to bust a vein over how you died with the enemy having 2 HP left, get remb.

I actually argued with some TF2 "pro" who said that mei is super weak in competitive because she just does not bring enough to the table to warrant a slot over the meta cookie cutter comps. A character whos entire purpose is to slow down the game with walls, aoe stuns, 1v1 freezing and general "fuck you im not going to die ever" is not good in a competitive game thats all about beating the time of the enemy team aka stopwatch

Frankly I disagree, I didn't play CB but I was in for most of OB since early July and I find that the game has become really fun with all the additions, the single greatest problem I have is how dead ranked matches are, right now DB is basically just a fun pub game and nothing more.

Yeah, but he was getting headshots for multiple games. At first I thought he was godlike, but he was jittering a lot. When I play Sparks I usually have specific points I blindly shoot at the start of a round and I'll get early headshot kills.

What is it that makes her so much better than Sawbonez? He's a bit beefier and I think throwables sound way more useful when you're pushing and stuff compared to a station.
Nader was my first merc, I really like her but I went into the game always longing for more explosives. I was happier with fragger but that's just because he's who I really wanted.

Nader sounds pretty good but I haven't tried her so there's always the risk I might not enjoy using her, tried out Fragger and he seems alright though a bit plain.
I'm just overly cautious about wasting my credits, really don't wanna drop 50k on a merc and then feel like I've wasted it all.
Station in a good place makes it a nightmare to deal with. Bridge is perfect example where Aura is amazing, good cover for the station and close quarters for shotguns and it's really hard to clear out without lots of explosives or Stoker.
Bonez is great but pubs have a habit of dodging all of your packs and generally there's not enough packs to go around in a pub match where Aura can heal everyone and retards can't dodge it.
