Forsens stream is absolutely hilarious RIGHT NOW in 2016
twitch tv / forsenlol
To those pretentious faggots right here who don't like Frosen because his stream is "too casual", he got to legend in less than a day from Rank 25, together with savjz. He is legit good hearthstone player even for your pretentious standards.
Long time reader, first time poster
I got a question for you today:
I would like to level up my rogue. What are the quintessential rogue decks? I would like to have a one of the main archetypes of control and rush. What other types should I consider? Thanks and have a great day!
Lea's photos have already been taken, they're coming out either end of this month or early next month.
I'm assuming you know she did a Playboy shoot.
It's a shoop someone made for that one slut draenei that there's a shit ton of art for.
It's been confirmed that the new heroes are Liadrin (Paladin), Tyrande (Priest), and Maiev (Rogue).
They're going to be released as part of the next card expansion.
the problem with rogue is that it's absolutely impossible to make a traditional deck out of it; you need to make use of all its ganky shit that includes stuff like preparation, which isn't basic
just level it up/do quests with it in tavern brawl/arena until you can make oil/miracle/raptor/mill
The only rogue decks that see play these days are
Oil Rogue, gets wrecked by super aggro and lots of heal decks (so everything).
Mill Rogue, gets wrecked by bad draw (like 30% winrate).
Raptor Rogue, gets wrecked by any late game/control deck.
Miracle Rogue, gets wrecked by bad draw and super aggro.
Because the devs are retards and dont know shes already in the game
Because what other female paladin were they going to use?
Black Knight is also on two cards.
Jaraxxus uses two other demons' art for his image and weapon.
Mal'ganis is Varimanthras.
Malygos is Kalecgos
Azure Drake is Arygos
They don't care.
that is because rogue is sneaky and you dont see him till its too late! sound like rogue is doing good job ha
sorry for confuse. I have spent $300 USD on game and have good cards. I have at the moment raptor jesus, oil, mill, rush. i think i would like to make miracle. cannot find a "vanilla" control is one exist.
yes i have notice my win rate not so good. It is ok. Point is to level rogue for fun. Not so much rank
There are no control rogues because the rogue spells and the good minions all force you to play multiple cards at a time. A control deck ideally wants to use resources slowly and efficiently, which isn't really possible with the Rogue class as it's designed.
>add all meme streamer names to filter
>make a druid draft
>get a mediocre deck
>first 3 opponents are two priests and a warlock
>next opponents are mage, mage and a another mage
wow great game blizzard. arena sure is balanced
fucking faggot where do you think you are going?
So, i opened a Palestress. What's the current Control Priest around? I think I'm going to replace something with her since from what I remember the current list runs Justicar and nothing more expensive.
>every deck I face stacks sludge belchers, healbots, and reno
jesus christ I hate this meta so much, people play so goddamn passive
I hate the fact that this meta revolves around not playing cards and forcing your opponent to play while you sit back
and then one turn, you turn the advantage he'd been building up with a few cards of your own
are all unfun to play against, because they will sit and not play any cards for 2-3 turns waiting for you to fuck up once, and if you do, they instantly take back the board and the advantage
that's not fun to play against at all
I play midrange and aggro decks because I like battling for board control and winning through that, but having someone combo you down from 30 in one turn or play one card to instantly get back board control in insanely stupid
I'm not a person who likes to complain about deck builds, but holy shit these secrets paladin builds are giving me high blood pressure.
Once mysterious comes on the board it's a pain. Any move you can do will be a bad move.
I got to rank 2 with demon zoo somehow yesterday. But today I've been losing mostly to warriors and druids so much I've fallen back to rank 5. Warriors especially seem like an impossible matchup to win with this deck.
Should I switch to Reno?
Do you know why?
Because minion combat is shit and highly favored towards whoever went first.
So you either use a few cards that let you change the momentum your way and hope they don't have a counter.
Or you use a deck that ignores minion combat entirely.
There was a card game based entirely on minion combat, it was called Scrolls by Mojang.
That game is dead, because matches in that game took 10 minutes if you were up against an aggro deck that got out of control, or a Ramp deck that got a perfect ramp.
Mid-range decks could take between 20 and 40 minutes to get the win depending on what they're up against, and control v control match-ups could go well over an hour.
Minion combat is a terrible thing to focus on if you don't introduce ways to get around it.
>mage doesn't know that deathrattle: set your life to 8 is insanely bad even when it's on 9/7 coined out on turn 5
>lost 4 games in a row after a decent run
>starting to get ladder anxiety and im only rank 5
Wanted to try and get legend for the first time but its so fucking frustrating when you lose to retarded decks like Reno lock.
I just get tilted as fuck after one or two losses and then it just cascades into even more losses when I start to misplay.
I can understand some spell and effects to get tempo back but goddamn
when a warrior or priest can play nothing for 2-3 turns, and still come ahead it seems so fucking wrong to me
it's not even like they had a bad turn or two, they legit just skip their turns because they can still win even without play ANY kind of tempo
and those decks rarely have tells to differentiate between them
I played vs what looked like a control priest
>have him down to 15
>I'm at 30
>he plays deathlord
>I get it down to 2, going to kill it next turn
>he circle of healling 2x
>he double's its health 2x
>makes attack equal to health
>OTK's me with a 32/32
there were no tells, he played like a normal control or fatigue priest the whole game until that turn where he revealed what he was and instantly killed me
how is that fair or fun to play against in the slightest?
it's an unfair OTK out of nowhere with no tells at all
idk what you're even on about here
the guy played like a control priest, then one turn, he just swapped and combo killed me from max health
I had board control, but like I said, he played like a control priest making my minions hit each other, only thing that survived was my 6/7 ogre and I didn't have a weapon at the time
Yes, tits are also another visual thing that differs from yet another generic bearded man in armor. Good job, buddy, you figured out exactly what I said. Way to go. You should ask your mom to print screen your post and put it on the fridge. I bet she'd be very proud.
>winning is unfair
>building a deck around a shitty gimick is unfair
don't misquote me you little weeb fag
one turn combo OTK decks are bullshit and unfair
especially the ones that have no tell
if you see a murloc paladin, you know to look out for anyfin
if you see a control priest, you don't think to worry about a 32/32 deathlord OTK, especially when you're winning in terms of health and board
I wouldn't know
I left MTG during darksteel
artifact vs anti-artifact every game
anti artifact decks stared at each other
not to mention casual play was pretty BS with the powerful indestructible artifacts
>Que into ranked against some Paladin. First card is Secret Keeper.
>"Oh boy I haven't seen a secret paladin in a whole 2 matches, what a fresh and exciting experience!"
>He continually taunts "I am sorry" whenever he gets an secret played.
>Squelch after the third time.
>He adds me after winning and tells me I am shit
Why do all these aggro shitters think they are good? They literally run the most generic, run of the mill decks.
>little weeb fag
Where do you think you are?
>Non-netdecks aren't fair because I can't tell what's gonna happen
>4chan is an anime website argument
what was I supposed to look out for then?
how was I supposed to counter-play it then? where should I have seen the purpose of his deck?
there were no chances for it
that's what I call unfair, there was no room for me to do anything, if he has the combo in hand, he wins, no control on my end on the outcome of the game
>want to play hearthstone
>$1000 paywall in my way
Do you guys just dump hundreds of dollars into this game or do you contently play with none of the cards required to actually play at a competitive level?
Dude I fucking loved Scrolls, and was shilling the fuck out of it since Mojang refused to market the game properly.
It's still dead, and the long games certainly didn't help it grab people.
its not just money that preventing you from reaching that, y'know.
memes aside, i used to grind arena for packs when it was easier to get consistently high wins.
got nearly all cards without spending real money, just do your daylies etc.
Am I a weeb-hater just because I hate when half the threads on /tg/ are some sort of /d/-tier fetish or <anime of the season> quest?
I personally don't have anything against people posting smug lolis, though I think those reaction images in general are shit.
I started a few months ago and have played relatively casually
I've spent like $160 and have a few competitive decks and can sort of make most non control decks with a few substitutions
Played since October of 2014.
Bought every adventure, spent no money on packs.
I can make every top-tier deck except for Wallet Warrior and Control Priest.
Missing pretty much all warrior epics and Grom, and I'm missing Justicar.
Used to farm arena a lot, but these days I just do my dailies.
I'm just curious where the weeb-hater threshold is. Since I know I hate how you can't be remotely negative or critical on reddit without apologizing 5 million times for having an opinion, but I don't know if I'm also a weeb-hater for not liking anime.
So where are you guys from? For some reason whenever I read a post I imagine it's written by an American
Finland here by the way
Justicar, as I said. Literally have everything else for it and every other priest deck.
Also just recently crafted Tirion for my paladin decks, though I'm missing Lay on Hands and Quartermaster for mid-range.
I do have both Mysterious Challengers.
>tfw CS:GO skins funded my adventures + a 50 pack
>Google Opinion Rewards funding my arena runs
Feels good not giving my own money to the Juden
>but I don't know if I'm also a weeb-hater for not liking anime.
Do you reply to people for posting an anime reaction image telling them they're dumb because of it, derailing from the original subject?
USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!
>at 9-2 in arena
>excellent start vs a priest
>accidentally put argus on field instead of dark iron dwarf
>probably going to lose because of it
place your bets goyim.
I just went out with my family and ate a perfectly cooked medium rare 18oz ribeye steak with an ice cold boston lager on draft. Now I'm about to get legend with mill rogue after fucking your mother's pussy.
Get on my level, nerd.
You know what time it is
I just crafted him 20 minutes ago, what do I do with my life now?
post things you hear right before your shit gets fucked up
WHO AM I?
I DREAM AND THE
HEHEHE HOO HOO HA
I SEEEE YOOOOUUU
PUT YOUR FAITH IN THE LIGHT
Don't worry, you'll get the full dust back soon when he gets nerfed.
Looking to make a memetastic deck with Bolf and Domo.
What do you recommend I do with the deck as of now? I thought having lots of early game removal would help guarantee a Rag proc.
often that's impossible though
these reno decks are so heavy most of the time that it's impossible to outvalue them in the long game unless you're an insanely heavy deck too like wallet warrior or somethng
They didn't think it through long term. Reno is already so good just by substituting below average cards in, when enough competitive cards get released there will be no reason not to run him.
This is my biggest fucking issue with it. Renococks can pretty much guarantee they have it in their hand by turn 6/7 because of their insane ability to draw. You literally have to beat your opponent twice.
Returning player who never did much beyond get one class to level 20.
Should I buy a campaign and if so which one? Is it worth it to say buy the whole Nax' campaign?
As long as Knife Juggler, Force of Nature, Ice Block, and Mad Scientist are in the game there's no reason to complain about Reno. I could ask what completely fair and honorable deck you play but I know you won't tell me since you play cancer trash just like everyone else.
im picking both currently, they waste their BGH on the doctor, then they realize they have a problem.
if only one, id pick boom over rag tho, just because there are so many tokens around atm
I thought you were summing up the thread :^)
Compared to literally any other MMORPG it was and probably still is the best of it's genre.
That says a lot about MMORPG's in general, doesn't it?
Can someone point me in the direction of a current non-demon Zoolock list? Most stuff I'm seeing is from November.
just opened golden pagle
should I dust? or is it worth keeping for the meme value?
>be warrior shitter
>decide to try another class
>mfw removal costs more than 1 mana
>mfw 6 damage costs more than 2 mana
>mfw "draw 4" costs more than 2 mana
>mfw having more than 50 health is actually hard
why do people play any other class?
>le warrior is bad now maymay
Currently playing Fibonacci's CW, 17-5 so far.
>can't build a zoo deck
This deck has existed for over two fucking years, how can you not throw Flame Imps and Doomguards together and get legendary? Have you been playing less than a week?
>not healing your minions for infinite value
>no cheap instant single target removal
>not having 5 different hero powers + modifiers
>not stealing your enemies cards despite not being a thief
>not having atleast 3 ways to OTK your opponent
>6 secret paladins in a row today
>played against nothing but secret, midrange druid and aggro shaman the past week with the occasional control priest
Literally just play midrange pally and concede to the control priests if they get the deathlord cleric engine running and you can't deal with it.
Maybe rogues too but I never see those fuckers outside of casual and the last time I lost to one he got shiv double fan in the first 4 turns of the game and I drew nothing but my anti-aggro cards (double healbot double aldor EQ) and he played that into drake and emperor (likely malygos rogue), so idk if that should really even be a legit consideration.
So this is my current rendition of Control Warrior.
Changes from my last version are:
-2 Acolyte of Pain
-1 Cruel Taskmaster
+2 Fierce Monkey
+2 Coldlight Oracle
The reasoning for the changes are:
Armorsmith unneccessary, the deck already builds sufficient armor from other sources (Shield Block, Justicar Trueheart, Shieldmaiden), and it's fairly rare to get any more than 1 or 2 minions on board AND have Death's Bite to combo with. At best Armorsmith is acting as an Execute activator. Fierce Monkey typically gives the same amount of health, but is much bigger on board presence for only 1 higher cost.
Coldlight Oracle instead of Acolyte has several advantages. It has the same amount of board presence, however, the 2 draws are guaranteed. It additionally gives the ability to mill opposing control decks on occasion. Finally, it gives the hilarious benefit of screwing over Anyfin Paladin.
Finally, Cleave over Cruel Taskmaster is because with removing Acolyte and Armorsmith it has far fewer use cases. This slot is experimental and open to change.
Change currently considered: -1 Grommash +1 Icehowl
Reasoning: I very very rarely get to use Grom as a finisher nowadays, I typically use him as removal. In that case, Icehowl would be superior. But...I would have to craft Icehowl, so I'm not rushing on that one yet.
Oops forgot image
I just wish there was a neutral counter to the deck.
Very curious, and interesting if it works for you.
I don't have enough experience with Control Warrior to give decent advice, but most of the thread will either ignore you or give you shit for doing something different.
>people are still playing a game proven to cause seizures
Fucking retarded. guess this is natural selection in the modern world. I hope you live alone so no one can drive you to the hospital
I prefer games where I can give people seizures
I hate when I get a draft with 0 legendaries.
What happened to tournaments? It feels like this spring/summer there were tournaments every fucking day, multiple ones running at once, all 8-man tournaments with prizes and different casters and shit, then one day they just stopped.
>Blizzfanboys ignoring and getting mad at logical statements
How stupid do people have to be to defend a company screwing them and ripping them off?
>t1 coin into shielded minibot
>t2 shielded minibot
GET REKT SHITTERS IM GOING TO 12 TONIGHT
Check that sweet golddd
Too bad my collector's compulsion won't allow me to dust it
Or the normal one I already had
CRACK COCAINE AT THE MTG PRO TOUR
Currently 6-1 with a meme deck
nah, just the skillfloor increases over time as more people get progressively better at the game.
arena mode was a literal joke from beta-gvg
after that players there got extremly good or replaced with mathematically efficient bots.
similar to other competetive games too, when a game is established there is an burden of knowledge containing atleast a wiki and a dozen websites catering to different niches of the game
anyone else think LoE legendariest are power-creep as fuck? Finley and brann both offer almost top-notch stats as well as ridiculously versatile effects and the other 3 are more than usable
>Decide to watch Hafu
>Asian girl with a white guy
Anyone wanna help me out with the spectate daily?
>good at the game
>want to get to legend
>don't want to play that many games
this is suffering
is there a drug I can take to become autistic for a couple of days? idk how a normal person can "grind".
What ever happened to DeerNadia? Did she just fade into obscurity after Eloise joined Tempo Shit?
lmao, you actually want to split hairs alright.
hes a 2/4 3drop
he gets fucked by pretty much everything because everyone prioritize him
his effect is conditional, you need a battlecry card in your hand and be able to use it when hes in play. those are the conditions of this card being above the power curve
because if not you dropped a 2/4 minion, for dragonpriest thats a 2 drop.
who also has two other 2 versions for his 3 drop slot
a 4/7 with the condition of having a circle
and a 3/5 with the condition of having a dragon in hand.
most aggro decks use their removal on him instantly, if you feel that hes too strong you prolly should git gud
>inb4 BUT MUH LATEGAME ANTIQILLLLCOMBO
fuck off nigguh
Obviously midrange paladin
>White guy with a holy book in his hand
>"Put your FAITH in the LIGHT!"
Meanwhile secrets are secretive like obama's illuminati birther faggotry and murlocs are basically the mudshits of hearthstone.
not that guy but shouldn't xanax be good for grinding ladder?
anti-anxiety meds seem like they'd be perfect, basically anti-tilt medication, right? i was thinking of picking up a script myself so if anyone knows i'd appreciate the info upfront
why is cardstone so easy?
>drugs for muh games
>all the korean senpais are doing it, dad
dude you just gotta be willing to struggle for something you really want and work for it
stop looking for some miracle shortcut
but ye adderal is great
how is mech mage fairing on the ladder? I've been running rogue decks but haven't managed much better than rank 9, which i am no longer. i'd like to at least make it to 5 before i head back to uni
come watch my friend that's really good at ranked
Oh you know, just an average mage turn 3.
>most popular decks in the meta are secret paladin, combo druid, and aggro shaman
>make a deck to counter these
>run into fucking control priests and control warriors outta nowhere
This is the worst feel
Has anyone even ever gotten to Legendary without using a specific meme-ish deck?
Typically face hunter, combo druid, etc etc?
I mean - netdeck or bust right?
What % of Legendary players do you think got there using their own creativity without looking an ounce online? Less than 1%?
Sometimes you play the odds and you still get fucked, though. I should still win out overall.
When you stop thinking of this game as a strategy game and start thinking of it more like going to a casino and playing poker and making bets and considering probabilities, it makes a lot more sense. You can lose a single hand but you can come out on top over a series of games if you know what you're doing, that seems to be the most effective plan in the game. I've started using deck tracker to keep track of what classes I'm facing most often specifically for this purpose. If I can beat the classes I face most often I should be able to climb easy.
>4 color dragons
I've played plenty of magic in my day but back around mirrodin era. Telling me 4 color dragons does nothing for me, I don't play whatever the current formats are.
So has anyone else tried the glory of spell armor combo druid in this tavern brawl? control or ramp the early game, play a few big minions and kill them with the combo when a big guy sticks to the board, and win the game because you gained like 60 armor and drew most of your deck
>le poker meme
>yes, croupier, im playing with my own set of cards, thank you very much
>wait, lemme roll a 54-sided dice to determine what card jumped out my other card there
>but sir, i wasnt cheating thats just how the discover mechanic works
I don't know why people bother with the armor shit when you can just make an OP deathrattle or battlecry deck so easily and win games fast. Face Warrior with battlecry is just insane, you can ping the fuck out of anything early people drop, MCT any time opponents try to flood the board to come back, use weapons and charge with arcane golems and leeroy (and to some degree old murk eye just because murlocs are so common). Ancient shade as an 8/5 wins games pretty hard as well, or argus as a 3/4 that buffs your other guys and taunts.
Just seems like armor decks can't keep up most of the time unless they get an amazing start and I get fuck-all.
You're taking it too literally. It's like going to the horse races and betting on who has the best over/under respective to what you know about the horses.
If I'm going up against decks X and Y 80% of the time, it's probably in my best interest to bet on a deck that is favored against deck X and Y even if I go up against decks A, B, and C occasionally and lose. Overall I'll end up in the black even if I lose a bet here or there, get it?
It's less about strategy like you might find in chess or go and more about betting on what deck has the best chances against the meta currently, which influences your overall winrate. If you think of laddering as less pure skill and more gambling it starts to make more sense. I used to think the other way around and think if I could play shitty meme decks well I could win, but that's missing the point entirely since it's making a bad bet.
Get it? It's not about strategy as much as it's about probability and what deck or tech choices have the best chances of winning vs. the decks you most commonly face. The strategy of the decks you develop are based less on themselves in a vacuum and more on how the card choices interact with the metagame at large, giving you the highest chances of success.
Hearthstone is a casino, not a chess tournament.
I'm really enjoying the campaign and watching Day9's video but the actual game seems to be a mixture of luck and knowledge.
There's no skill involved beyond knowing 'this is the optimum play here'. Surely a computer could learn how to play this and beat everyone?
Blizzard's AI will commit suicide at times. Bots are somewhat better but can only work with braindead aggro decks like Secret Paladin. I don't know if that has more to do with the AI or the game but that's the way things are right now.
Blozzard's AI is intended to get the job done.
A genetic algorithm could work out when a card should be played.
E.g. Playing card x with this board state and this deck knowledge has a 60% win rate or something
I suppose magic is the same but with deeper mechanics allows you to control the other player a bit. That's skill.
>the process of evaluating on where to place the bet is not a form of strategy
>piloting a deck requires no skill
>its just RNG guiz :DD
kinda cute, you walltext very basic information but sell it likes its some new revolutionary view to understand the game
did you just want to rant?
picking the right deck isnt a bet, its a strategy, playing a deck against different matchups is also different
youre not just betting, youre actively skewing the odds in your favour, i think there is a difference.
I don't have flamewakers, boom, or alex, so my design space is a bit limited. It's pretty similar to tempo mage: a spell-based control early game hitting the face with wyrms and company, and then using Antonidas, fireballs, or conjurers as burst.
I just got out of a game where I 30-to-0'd a priest in 4 turns with a fireball-fireball followed by a frostbolt-frostbolt-arcane missle-arcane missile-ping into pyroblast into pyroblast. I felt disgusting.
I forgot to mention I don't have scientists yet either, so no secrets for me
I only have one KTM, should I run 1 of it and one mirror entity, or 2 mirror entity and cut out the Cone?
To be honest, I have no idea why cone is in this deck, I think I got salty from playing against so many secret pallys.
>all this spellslinger hate
But the rng
That's why I likened it to poker more than chess. Poker is similar in the sense that you can skew the odds in your favor with skill.
The idea is basic, but you were meme'ing me so I assumed you were a 12 year old who didn't understand, so I tried to break it down in very simple terms for you. You sounded like an idiot and I treated you like one, basically.
does anyone else really like HS for all the thing sbut the game
the soundtrack, the card sounds, the flavour, the card description, the art in some of the cards
inb4 shieldbearer, I'm legendary
I might've misread it as equip a weapon. Still, in a world where there is a 4 mana 2/4 draw a card, and discover is rated similarly to draw a card, It's still horribly balanced.
As a 4 mana 3/4 it might be fair, since most assassin weapons are trash, but it's still OP.
how good is Dragon Priest these days? I just opened a Chillmaw, and the only card Im missing is a second Twilight Guardian, but I dont want to waste the dust if the deck isn't any good anyway.

How to deal with fatigue priests in the tavern brawl?
They have nothing but aoe and hard removal, plus they steal your shit ensuring they have at least 2 more cards than you with entomb
>auchenai + circle
Then they get stupid shit like finly and shadowform to deal with constant 1/1s if you picked murloc
Quick, no time to explain! Pick the class you main, and autofill it!
i always loved the spy mechanics of blue in magic
but as anon said >>128082875
its to much for hearthstone. The spaghetti code that is holding the game together would probably explode and they might be forced to come of their eternal vacation mode and work for a change
Programmer here. It's not hard at all, based on the advanced rulebooks. You literally treat it as an on-going effect (Like cards with on going effects such as Demolisher, Fel Cannon, Ysera, Rag, etc.) while making it reveal each drawn card from your opponent.
