the problem with rogue is that it's absolutely impossible to make a traditional deck out of it; you need to make use of all its ganky shit that includes stuff like preparation, which isn't basic

just level it up/do quests with it in tavern brawl/arena until you can make oil/miracle/raptor/mill

Oil Rogue, gets wrecked by super aggro and lots of heal decks (so everything).
Mill Rogue, gets wrecked by bad draw (like 30% winrate).
Raptor Rogue, gets wrecked by any late game/control deck.
Miracle Rogue, gets wrecked by bad draw and super aggro.

There are no control rogues because the rogue spells and the good minions all force you to play multiple cards at a time. A control deck ideally wants to use resources slowly and efficiently, which isn't really possible with the Rogue class as it's designed.

I hate the fact that this meta revolves around not playing cards and forcing your opponent to play while you sit back

I got to rank 2 with demon zoo somehow yesterday. But today I've been losing mostly to warriors and druids so much I've fallen back to rank 5. Warriors especially seem like an impossible matchup to win with this deck.

Do you know why?
Because minion combat is shit and highly favored towards whoever went first.
So you either use a few cards that let you change the momentum your way and hope they don't have a counter.
Or you use a deck that ignores minion combat entirely.

There was a card game based entirely on minion combat, it was called Scrolls by Mojang.
That game is dead, because matches in that game took 10 minutes if you were up against an aggro deck that got out of control, or a Ramp deck that got a perfect ramp.
Mid-range decks could take between 20 and 40 minutes to get the win depending on what they're up against, and control v control match-ups could go well over an hour.

Minion combat is a terrible thing to focus on if you don't introduce ways to get around it.

This is my biggest fucking issue with it. Renococks can pretty much guarantee they have it in their hand by turn 6/7 because of their insane ability to draw. You literally have to beat your opponent twice.

Literally just play midrange pally and concede to the control priests if they get the deathlord cleric engine running and you can't deal with it.

Maybe rogues too but I never see those fuckers outside of casual and the last time I lost to one he got shiv double fan in the first 4 turns of the game and I drew nothing but my anti-aggro cards (double healbot double aldor EQ) and he played that into drake and emperor (likely malygos rogue), so idk if that should really even be a legit consideration.

So this is my current rendition of Control Warrior.

Changes from my last version are:

-2 Armorsmith
-2 Acolyte of Pain
-1 Cruel Taskmaster

+2 Fierce Monkey
+2 Coldlight Oracle
+1 Cleave

The reasoning for the changes are:

Armorsmith unneccessary, the deck already builds sufficient armor from other sources (Shield Block, Justicar Trueheart, Shieldmaiden), and it's fairly rare to get any more than 1 or 2 minions on board AND have Death's Bite to combo with. At best Armorsmith is acting as an Execute activator. Fierce Monkey typically gives the same amount of health, but is much bigger on board presence for only 1 higher cost.

Coldlight Oracle instead of Acolyte has several advantages. It has the same amount of board presence, however, the 2 draws are guaranteed. It additionally gives the ability to mill opposing control decks on occasion. Finally, it gives the hilarious benefit of screwing over Anyfin Paladin.

Finally, Cleave over Cruel Taskmaster is because with removing Acolyte and Armorsmith it has far fewer use cases. This slot is experimental and open to change.

Change currently considered: -1 Grommash +1 Icehowl

Reasoning: I very very rarely get to use Grom as a finisher nowadays, I typically use him as removal. In that case, Icehowl would be superior. But...I would have to craft Icehowl, so I'm not rushing on that one yet.
