Why doesn't Rogue have more cards that capitalize on being returned to your hand or having multiple copies shuffled into the deck?
I never see those panda cards played. Is there a way to get them in play besides arena?
I've really been enjoying my time playing battlecry shaman. It's a pretty tricky deck to build and navigate. But it has some great moments and winning is satisfying because it does things that your opponent just doesn't expect.
Listen here you idiots complaining about Secret Paladin.
Blizzard only nerfed Undertaker and Patron due to the amount of auto-concedes and ragequitting those decks inspired.
They don't care about balance, they don't care about winrates, they don't care about facts, all they care about is what makes money, and if you fucks keep playing instead of auto-conceding/rage-quitting from those matches you're just making the situation worse for yourselves.
Why is nobody playing Shadow Madness in Control Priest? I tried it in place of SW:P and I get crazy value from it in pretty much every game.
When should I start saving money for the next expansion?
I only do daily quests. Got 700 right now.
I guess that since the card backs of January and February have already been revealed, it is going to be March/April.
You 'll only need to purchase like 50 packs and have around 5k dust ready to spend and you 'll have all you need from it; pack expansions don't have much playable stuff.
so the mobile version shop has a spare slot after adventures, packs and heroes
what do you think they will sell next? card market where you buy exclusive cards for gold/cash? older card backs you missed?
Why is it lame for them?
You won yours, now let someone else get them for money; you had your time of exclusivity.
Plus it's all just cosmetic anyway. Everyone's going to be using that stupid ass ninja one.
holy fuck, im getting 1 every 3 packs
>watch nox's stream since he's actually doing something different from everyone else and playing fun decks in tavern brawl
>makes a smorc warrior deck, destroys everyone
>make it myself, optimize it a bit by taking out the joke cards like parrot and the 2/3 weapon pirate
>apparently it's actually super cancer, 5-0 my double warrior dominance with it
I'm on my way to max out the 39 pack limit on not getting any legendary.
My oldest is the Darkspear one (July 2015), so it's not like I have the actually old ones.
I just believe that those card backs should be available only to the people who played at the season which were given.
If you have the Pandaria card back for example it means that you 're playing the game since it was released. If everyone can get it, it doesn't mean anything.
I think the best solution is to give a cardback someone doesn't have for everytime they hit legend after getting the first legend cardback.
It's just a nice badge of honor thing. It means nothing contextually but it's still something someone can take pride in. Taking that away from people has a lot of negative emotions tied to it. Its part of what killed WoW raiding for a lot of people.
How far are we going lads
Any duplicate based mage deck
You run more removal than they have threats and you can just push through all their armour with big ass minions, 60 life doesn't mean much when you are doming them for 24 a turn or in the case of grindr mage you just whittle them down while having a massive advantage when the game gets to fatigue.
Because 99% of people don't care that they're so disgusting.
The reddit that sucks their balls got an interview with the HS devs, who openly said they had cards that statistically speaking didn't need a nerf, or the nerf they did make made little difference. They still nerfed them because players were auto-conceding or quitting the game in those matches.
The cards specifically mentioned are Undertaker, where people auto-conceded if they didn't have an answer.
Mind Control, where new players raged at priests stealing their big shit (leading to the 10 mana nerf)
Warsong Commander, this one they admitted they wanted to nerf but never had an excuse to do so until patron warrior had become such a meme that even casuals were talking about it being OP.
Which also leads into another thing they revealed, they said that there are certain cards in the game they don't like because they allow for playing the game in ways they don't want you to play.
Starving Buzzard and Warsong Commander were two such cards, so they were purposefully made so bad that they have no purpose in the game at present.
>If everyone can get it, it doesn't mean anything
Famiglia, they're cosmetic. That's it. The point is to look pretty. If you want speshul snowflake recognition, try playing nonmeta decks or similar.
The only cardback with some sort of "meaning" would be the Legend one, but by your logic we should revoke Legend card backs every new season.
There's literally 0 point in discussing it. The cardbacks mean something to some people and mean nothing to others. And it is impossible for one side to convince the other they are correct.
>rank 4 secret pally without tirion last season
>finally have enough dust to craft
>now stuck at rank 7
>try switching decks
>aggro shaman gets queued into decks with a dozen taunts or reno lock
>never see ramp cards as druid
Why am I so awful?
Sometimes I feel like this game is intentionally trying to fuck me.
Raiding is meaningless.
>Do Highmaul Normal, get 650
>Do Highmaul HC, get 665
>Highmaul LFR awards 645
>Do BRF Normal, get 660
>Do BRF Heroic, get 670
>BRF LFR drops 655
>Do HFC Normal, get 690
>Do HFC Heroic, get 705
>HFC LFR drops 685, Dungeons drop 700-725, you can buy 695-705 gear doing dailies
And it's only gonna get worse. In short the only 'advantage' to raiding is getting the same gear a week or two in advance vs a mouthbreathing cuntwad doing dailies.
Go away famiglia.
Cardbacks are exactly what they are, cosmetic. You get them at rank 20, meaning literally EVERYONE can get them. Locking them behind a "started playing earlier" is a shit excuse.
Outside of the Legend one, the only claim anyone might have to a cardback is "Oh it shows I started playing earlier than someone", whoop dee doo. Just let them buy the darn thing for money. It's nothing in the long run.
You'd have to be legitimately sad if your claim to relevancy in any game is "I have this thing that shows I started playing earlier even though I'm a permanent shieldbearer, no one can take that away from me"
They should make it the WoW;TCG version, so it buffs all of your minions based on that minion's cost.
Your silverhand recruit only gets +1/+1, your Juggler or Minibot only gets +2/+2, etc.
>shitters make aggro decks
>do poorly with them
>i make an anti-aggro anti-secret midrange pally with double chow/EQ/aldor/ulda/healbot/LoH
>winning against all these aggro shitters
Just make a deck with double chow double healbot and collect your free wins m8, idk what you're doin with ur life kek
>finally enough dust to make a control warrior deck
>hop into ranked
Am i doing this right?
Well given there are no Ongoing effects in HS, they'd make it like Power of the Wild, you cast it and everything you currently have gets a buff based on its cost.
It'd give the Paladin a win condition if you're not clearing their board of 3+ cost minions.
That'd be me; I'm brand fucking new so I don't have shit like Justicar or Quartermasters though, so I make do with shit like Murloc Tidehunters, Razorfen Hunters, and Dragonling Mechanics to spawn dudes besides my normal dudes, and Raid Leaders/Stormwind Champions to buff 'em up.
Because there isn't enough control or removal in the fucking game to deal with all the stupid bullshit they do. They have one of each card and its still too fucking strong.
>voidcaller into jaraxxus, uldaman it
>coghammer uldaman and trade for feugen stalagg
>next turn take him back down to 15 or so
>brann into healbot
>shadowflame, siphon soul, sylvanas etc
Didn't help that I never saw Dr 6, 7, or 8 but it really feels awful when you control the board the entire game, bring them down twice, and then get destroyed by infinite heals and AOE board clears.
There are so many holidays to take from.
why are you not using the best decks ever? why are you playing fairly in a childrens card game?
Even !ocktoberfest has its own cards.
a few dead cards in shaman face deck. not like it matters since you wont get past rank 10 with it.
not sure why truesilver and rag are in that pally deck though. unless that's ostkaka's deck.
>no deadly poisons
>not even a sap or assassinate
>nothing that costs 6 or more mana
>what I DO have are two shredders and two gorillas with the mechs to back them up
Backed up by zero forced C-team meme picks, a killer pedal-to-the-metal aggressive curve, and some hilarious luck with the gorilla discovers and shredder drops, this happened. I don't think a single game lasted to turn 10.
The best part is I wasn't even trying to force an aggressive curve, I was being forced to take the one not-atrocious card every pick all the way until pick 20, at which point I complained to myself that I hadn't seen any staples whatsoever, at which point i realized I could pick a gorilla with clockwork gnome, annoy-o-tron, auto-barber, and clockwork knight. The two shredders and second gorilla came afterwards as if apologizing for an otherwise unassuming draft.
In so many decks I'd say to myself "hold back on backstabbing his early drop, you'll need that to help take down a big, lopsided creature later". Here I did it every single time and it felt ridiculously good.
It does. In general the people who are successful at card games can tell you what cards do by just seeing the art or hearing the name.
Usually only casuals or those who have not yet pushed into learning the game can't.
That's why I love HS
>Pick up Hearthstone again because fucking ran out of other things to do
>Trying to ease my way into it
>Account doesn't exist
>Make new account, trying to grind through shit
>Can't even fucking beat challenges with the beginner Decks because fucking everything instantly kills off the basic vanilla things I keep trying to bring out
Holy fucking shit how hard did the powercreep hit this fucking game.
This is legitimately WORSE than Yu-Gi-Oh.
gj senpai. dont worry about dudes who hate you, 100% they are trash who never got about 10 wins in arena with over 3000 wins, and who paid blizzard hundred of dollars to construct top tier decks which they cant break rank 10 with
>tfw i never went past 8 wins in arena
but i had like in total 30 arena runs
If you really are playing pally as much as you say then build a counter deck. In reality, while you see them a lot its way less than 50% of games, maybe 20%, so it's not viable.
Yeah, I'm starting to lose now too. It's a good deck to grind out early morning because everyone concedes really fast but now all people playing counter-decks / -techs are waking up. It's a really bad deck when everyone techs against it.
>play face hunter
>huge winning streak
>hit rank 13
>nothing but dragon/control priests and secret paladins
maybe I'm just getting bad matchups
are mid tier ladder decks all midrange/control like this?
>... versus Uther!
>... versus Uther!
>... versus Uther!
>... versus Uther!
I'm so fucking sick of every fucking paladin and every fucking paladin card. I'm just gonna rope out any faggot that picks that fucking abomination of blizzards jewing. I'm sick of seeing trash players win because they clicked on the op cards in their collection then clicked face in a match.
well that might carry you only so far
i try to guess the enemy deck and mulligan accordingly, earth shock against WLs, wolves against paladin etc.
if youre not legendary chances are that you make a LOT of mistakes because even autists that play heartstone as a profession misplay
so I guess I should just be glad I'm not still stuck in the 19-20 range?
maybe it's not too bad considering I've only been playing for about a month and only have 1 cheap semi-meta deck
I only had the dust for a face hunter deck minus a Leeroy
it'll be at least another month or two before I get enough for a decent secret paladin deck
I still need 2 MCs and a Tirion for it to work
the ones I faced weren't really meme decks, they were things like oil rogues and tempo mages, but they were played by bad people who looked up cards without thinking how to play them
>druid plays jungle moonkin while i have antonidas out
>he's at 20
Yeah, I was surprised at how consistent they were. I got offered Junkbot a couple of times, sure, but when I needed to play something huge next turn, I could rip a Sneed's or a Reaper (that guy who damages adjacent minions), or if I was pushing hard I could simply take like an Auto-Barber or Harvest Golem.
Playing this deck almost made me want to try some kind of constructed mech deck to be honest, but I don't think any of them actually run gorilla. Too slow, probably.
Why does hearthstone feel like a coinflip most of the time? If you curve out you win, if the enemy curves out he wins, and if you both are even you have a somewhat decent game which is maybe 5% of the games.
because blizzard balances by giving each class OP cards until it hits cancer status and then someone else gets buffed to have their time being OP
right now it's paladin
my guess is druid or rogue gets buffed next expansion and becomes the cancer of the ladder
>oh boy a legendary
YES, easy dust
I run gorilla in my mechmage deck. It honestly helps a lot with keeping your steam going, since the weakness of mechmage always seems like running out of mechs to throw at a person.
>you just do damage and hope
>i do badly with smorc shaman whose win condition is having trog into removal in the starthand
>try to give advice
>nah haha thats just basic stuff
dude i dont know man
Fucking cancerous warlock faggots. What the fuck is this Blizz? Do they realize what they've done?
He almost won too.
>finally get golden Paladin
>realise I now hate craft 2x golden Muster so all my Dudes are golden
1600 fucking dust
The fucking dream.
He just played the other mc next turn and I still lost
I used to think so but I don't really anymore
the thing is that there are a lot more legendary cards, relatively speaking, in the game than are included in a deck or your personal collection so it'll seem biased
I'm pretty sure the point of Reno is to stymie aggro and gain control. It doesn't have to stay 1 of each card if they rebalance it.
Basically a 4/6 version of that other card which restores 4 health.
yes, this game really needs more RNG
what's life like at rank 20?
Time to climb to Rank 5 hopefully all the tryhards are Rank 5-1/legend already.
>his comeback is to call out on others
Stay made, senpai.
Shit fampai I fell asleep
The card under Grom is Deathwing
7month old f2p here, I literally have no clue why you fags bitch about tis game being pay 2 play. I have all adventures unlocked. 3k dust pure+4k dust in goldens+4k dust in meme cards. Like 60% of all playable legos, epics. And literally every semi-decent rare.
>Troggzor on the field with Spellbender and Counterspell
>My face as the opponent fails to kill him and only ends up spawning several 3/5 Troggs
God I love silly builds in casual.
and now i get matched against a cancer secret paladin
What is that shit deck you're playing
>caring about what /hsg/ thinks about
haha you're such a fucking faggot. Thinking you're better than everyone because you play special snowflake 'innovative' decks is the highest cancer there is
>I have to handicap myself in order for /hsg/ to like me
Wha the he'll happened to him? My theory is: he registered on tinder some girl accepted him as joke, he took her to fancy restoraunt she scammed him for few thousand dollars and laughed in his face.
if i didn't care why would i post here and it's not that much of a special snowflake deck
Yo, what's the most useful and versatile Legendary card?
Aside from Dr. Doom, ofc
>have 2 amazing legendaries
>meanwhile most classes have either 1 or 0 playable legos, such as hunter or mage
Do I look like I give a shit about Wilfred?
>opponent plays a minion
>opponent plays a buff
>lost 10 casual matches in a row
>can't even get my dailies
>opponent skips his turn
>opponent skips his turn
It is but I suck with rogue. I dusted a van cleef because I never play the class and I wanted more dust for Dr Balance. I'll probably just end up committing suicide with my dagger more often than not. We'll see.
THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE SAME FUCKING GAME FUCK THIS SHIT BLIZZ WHAT ARE THE FUCKING ODDS I WAS 0-0
Complex cards lead to shitty unfun gameplay
>I counter every single spell played by opponent while sapping every creature and scrying deep into my deck so I always have answers to EVERYTING he plays then just destroy his deck and discard his hand
This is cancer
Playing secretladin bore me to death, I made 4 other decks, they perform well but I can't choose one to climb the ladder.
Which one would you pick ?
that was exciting
won in the next round because he had double double life and attack = life cards
>queque with my top tier lego deck at rank 20
>my opponent is new player with mostly basic cards
>make missplays on purpose
>lose on purpose
>guy is porlly really happy
>if he ads me, add him back and if he trashtalks me I pretend to be hella mad
>post battletag on 4chan asking for help with Watch and learn quest
>I dont have watch and learn quest
>I just want to have friends
Who else here lost control of his his life?
I'm not butthurt at all, it's just a game, haha. Not mad at all. RNG is part of the game fun, only a young teenager would get mad. Ahah, that was really fun to see my side of the board being fucked-up by blasts and imps. I'm not even mad. I'm not mad when shaman spells roll for maximum damages. I'm super happy when my opponent get an insane minions out of esportal because it's fun, I enjoy it, I'm really happy about it. Last time a warrior played brawl and all my minions died and he kept Gromash, Gromash who was spawned by the death of my deathlord one turn before, I laughed, tears of joy. It was so fun, I was so happy for him, I love it. I really love this game, not mad at all or anything. Not mad. And what a load of fun when his shredder drop doomsayer, right ? Naaa, not mad. not mad. not mad. I'm not mad.
I hope someone uploads this to youtube
03:21:00 - 03:26:00
I like what Mech mage looks like as a deck, based on how you play it. For example: If you play it badly you're nothing but a crazy face-going Cogmaster/Annoy-o-Tron, throwing nothing but blind punches at the enemy (Snowchugger) making random strikes like goblin blastmage not knowing what you're doing. but if you know what you're doing it always kinda shows that you don't take no shit from nobody (Dr.boom) that you can predict what they are doing (Loatheb) and you're a pretty smart monkey (Gorrilabot A-3) and showing that it can be a real terror to fight against a mechanical hell that it can be (shredders everywhere, bombs and fireballs flying)
Shit, that Jaina Proudmoore is coming to hunt your ass down with bad ass spells and mechanical terrors!
its just another fantasy i guess.
Please if you want to follow my blog
>vs Anyfin Paladin as Aggro Shaman.
>Turn 6 his on 13.
>Have Aldored Zap-o-matic hit for 2.
>Lava burst to drop him to 6.
>Pray to Rngesus.
>Crackle hits for 6.
Mfw He emotes Justice demands retribution.
It's like facehunter. You just go face, sometimes you have to think about overloading yourself and how it will influence your next turn but besides it's just face all the time. It's mostly about killing your opponent before he can react.
idk man, it's never beat me as secret paladin or zoo, but I guess that makes sense since both those decks are about board control and without chip damage from minions, can't burn you out fast enough.
ITS OVER THE BITCH GOT EXPOSED
looks like massan ACTUALLY killed himself
I'm rank 14 but I barely play despite a high win rate.
How the FUCK do you find the motivation to play that many games? I don't know how to get myself to want to play all the games required to climb, to "grind" repetitively. It's like the magic is gone or something, feels bad man.
hearthstone is about quantity over quality. it's about the volume of games that you play, not individual matches.
the idea is it balances out in the end, because you should also be abusing those RNG cards for your benefit. sometimes you will be the one getting the 4 imp roll or the insane portal or deathlord roll. so you feel good when it happens in your favor and bad when it happens in your opponent's favor.
Does anyone else remember when Pally was a joke that could barely be viable?
Now everyone is constantly bitching about them...
just last night I realized how big of a game changer Antique Healbot was and how rare you'd see someone heal.. But now assholes can just heal instantly from death
>3% chance to win the game immediately
>have lethal following turn if you survive
>lose to literally any silence or burst damage
you most certainly have gone for the stonetusk boar. There is literally no reason not to. There is no punish for using coil, only a 3% chance to win the game right then and avoid the risk of opponent killing you.
enemy plays big threats
enemy plays small threats
>knife juggler muster
ayy el mayo
4 for 2 is pretty fucking good compared to other aoe
When I was starting out, I was mostly spending gold on arena, averaging 5-6 wins, rarely more than 7, but rarely less than 4. But I did mostly so I could play with various cards I didn't have and learn the game beyond the basic decks. The downside of arena is you don't get to choose which pack will you receive.
Classic packs are generally the best, GvG you should get for shredders and other mechs that you might use even in non-mech decks, some great class cards (mostly paladin I think), and a chance to get Dr. Boom. TGT has the least amount of important cards.
>multishot, explosiveshot and power shot don't count as aoe boardclears
>explosive is too unreliable
>uth is too weak and cucked by taunt
>dreadscale is shit for it's worth
>acidmaw ayy lmao
every other class has a hard cast aoe while hunter doesn't
>lightning storm/ele destruction
the only reason why hunter can't run mid range or control anymore is because of this shit
i honestly don't understand how people can defend this shit and say hunters have one
Depends on how many wins you can average on arena. In general, as a noob you will be better just buying packs, first because you'll probably perform poorly in arena, second because arena gives random packs, and you have a high chance to receive TGT packs, wich is a godawful expansion. As a new player I suggest to buy something like 10 GvG packs first to get some of the stuff to build a mech mage (A deck that in his most basic form does not require adventures and is pretty decent and educational), then just get classic packs as most of the best shit it's there. You should probably never bother with TGT, and craft the extremely few good cards in it if you need them. Anyway, doing some arenas is pretty educational to understand the basic, and you might get lucky.
Let's all play our beloved chan game
First reply ending with a 0,2,4,6,8 decides which next class i level to 60 (remains 4: priest, rogue, shaman, paladin)
First reply ending with number 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 decides which next legendary i craft (will deliver, SS this if you want to, i surely will)
>Combo Druid losing to Hogger Murloc
How is possible that the same guys that made TGT also made LoE? TGT was a hilariously bad expansion, and it's clear that whoever was behind it has no idea on how the game works. Most of the cards was as worthless as pic related, and along all that used toilet paper there's stuff like Mysterious Challenger (Daily reminder that someone playtested it and tought it was okay). The new 2 mechanics introduced, Joust and Inspire, fall flat on their face. Inspire it's okaysh even if nothing exceptional, but Joust is downright awful. A mechanic that completely relies on RNG attached to mediocre minions like pic related. Justicar is bae tho.
Meanwhile, LoE was good. Discover is a very useful AND fun mechanic, something that you wouldn't expect from Blizzard. Almost all the other cards were also fun and/or useful, and it's probably the only expansion where all the legos are playable.
I honestly doubt that the same minds were behind 2 expansions so drastically different.
fucking only 4-3. at least i got a pretty ok-ish legend.
>you: ~15-30 seconds per turn most of the time
>him: ~120 seconds per turn
NEW PALADIN SECRET
At the start of your opponent's turn, all characters gain Immune for one turn.
That's why you have something open in your other monitor. I don't even pay attention to what my opponent is doing anymore on their turn, I use deck tracker and look at the history bar to see wtf happened once it's my turn.
you can win the value game in better ways than with the random stuff paletress gives you
and control priest really has no space. the core cards are pretty much the whole deck
Elementals should have their own family tag and get a few support cards in shaman. Kind of like how pirates are designed with rogues in mind, but could still be used elsewhere. Mages' water elemental would have the tag too, for some niche combo.
Also, I refused to craft dust devils just to take this picture, but maybe with the right support dead cards like they could see the light of day again.
>the game is built on envy and frustration
Envy and frustration are two monetizing factors behind Hearthstone.
A new player starts to play, learns a bit about the game and plays necessary games vs the AI. Then he's released into the wild. Some games are going well, some are not. But the cornerstone of this game is the experience when you are absolutely crushed by perfectly build deck and you feel helpless. It's not that you've made mistakes and next time could improve and beat that deck. it's the feeling that no matter what you do an no matter how you improve, that deck will still stomp you into the ground. You face such deck once, twice, three times... What's next? A small percentage will just keep grinding. Most people will either quit because they feel the game is unfair or will reach to their credit cards. Mission accomplished.
my battle station can only fit one
cant help it
>How the FUCK do you find the motivation to play that many games? I don't know how to get myself to want to play all the games required to climb, to "grind" repetitively.
>play fun decks
>listen to good music
>set yourself small goals (.i.e. reach rank 15, reach rank 10, win 5 games, get 1 rank etc.)
>play different decks
>take a break
>drink a lot
i want my money back
in the following round he attacked all minions beside the sea giant
Also idk about drinking a lot. I need to figure out the right amount to drink, I always just end up getting really tired and needing to lay down which isn't conducive to grinding, but just having like 1 beer is kinda lame.
I didn't know how much I wanted this.
I enjoy playing the game, I don't enjoy waiting for my opponent to do shit. Especially if they take a long time.
Don't get me wrong, if my opponent actually makes moves quickly I'll just focus on the game since I don't have enough time to do something else. But if they're taking a fucking minute+ per turn they can go fuck themselves.
Amaz is rank 10 right now. Just pick a popular streamer like him and try to race him to rank 5 or legend or whatever, rank 10 shouldn't be that hard to achieve from 14 right? Then tomorrow you can see what rank he's at and match/exceed it.
>double haunter creeper into muster for battle
This fucking cancer I want to kill myself
the one time I bothered to "grind to legend" I just doubled my daily time playing from 1 to 2 hours. 150 wins later, legend.
It's annoying to be sure, but 2 hours a day isn't too big of an investment if you want to reach legend.
I had a 72% winrate with secret paladin btw
you don't need to netdeck to understand antisynergy between cards moron. I mean christ.
And if you're that stupid to put lay on hands and two copies of divine favor in the same deck, maybe you should netdeck
>tfw you realize you share a general with people like this, and similar to cockroaches, if you see one there are probably thousands you don't see
It is absolutely insane how much Hearthstone discussion across all platforms has declined.
Have all come to a crawl ever since League finished coming out, its like everyone left after the final wing was released because they were already bored with the game.
There really isn't much to talk about until the next expansion comes out. I mean outside of the typical guess the lego, arena help, deck building help, etc. As far as new topics though gotta wait until February or so for that
>you will never play cute nagas again
Bad marketing from fucking Ubisoft killed it
I just want to play my midrange paladin and not feel guilty. Right now everytime I play I can feel my opponent suffering as he assumes that he'll play yet another boring, broken secret paladin.
