>What is Grim Dawn
Grim Dawn is an ARPG made by a few left over developers from Iron Lore Entertainment who also made Titan Quest along with a few other devs including one D1/D2 designer. Currently you can't really pirate it because it breaks NPCS and quests (custom DRM I'm guessing) but there is a DRM free version planned for launch.
>What are some features
Dual Class System
Refined Loot Drops
300+ Hero Monsters
Modding Tools (Future)
DRM Free Version (At launch in February 2016)
Survival Mode (think endless dungeon) (for all backers)

>Why is this game taking so long to make?
Post in the thread, in the forums or in the ledit.
>Story summery by aniki:
kILL THE NON BELIEVER
Fighting Spirit procs all the time, try checking your hp bar, you'll see the buff. The other two you need to check the animation.
Markovian's is a slow downward slash/strike, the other one is a horizontal sweep.
is there any way to tell how damage reduction works on mobs?
for instance, it says x% reduced enemy damage but we know that they can use items with +y% to damage and shit, therefore making it 100+y-x% total
unless I am mistaken and crate just made it a multiplier
IF ONLY THERE WAS A RESOURCE IN GAME TO TELL US HOW THINGS WORK HOLY SHIT
nameless soldier devotion or whatever it's called on the lower right is better
it works with all weapons
zolhan's AoE only works on melee, kinda like cadence
There are a lot of cool abilities from items some are even better than standard abilities, kinda wish there was a database ingame so you can build your character accordingly to item abilities
>mfw the Nemesis summon is exactly the same pet as the Shaman manticore
Fucking Crate get your shit together. I can't stand how fucking lazy they are with these pet summons.
Do I miss something here? It says "inspire your allies", yet, the movement speed bonus applies to me aswell, BUT the 45% total damage does not or not entirely, I get like 7 phys damage more ... or do I misinterpret total damage?
what the fuck do you expect? there are like SIX dogs and several pets that are just mob recolors
any time you tell people about that on reddit/GD forums they go apeshit defensive about it
No, it was a video I saw my friend post. I thought it was a Nightblade + Shaman because the Nemesis summon even had the same icon as the Shaman Conjure Primal Spirit did, but the character was a Blademaster iirc. I can try digging up the video if I can find it.
GD forums are full of cucks who get their panties in a twist if you so much as even begin to suggest that everything Crate shits out isn't necessarily golden. That place disgusts me.
this fucking guy
reminder that 90% of /gdg/ are just as retarded if not more
One thread later and you're still butthurt cuz I BTFO you the fuck out
>for one second
>which results in 9 seconds of debuff total
Yeah, but Im not sure I understand the math correctly here ...
dude read the fucking description of the ability.
>cast your flames on enemy
>eight second duration
>chaos damage xxx-xxx
>reduces enemies resistances for one second
If anyone is retarded, it's you for not being able to read.
It clearly states that reduces enemies Resistance for a single second, on top of the eight second duration of the chaos damage.
THE DEBUFF IS SEPARATE FROM THE EIGHT SECOND DURATION.
Well you can do things like how FFX-2 did thieves, with stealing items from enemies that they won't normally drop as well as stealing abstract things such as their mind (makes them berserk) or their time (slows or stops them) for example.
>Get to level 10
I'm running through at nightblade for my first run. I want to go with Soldier or Demolitionist for my 2nd class, is there any reason why I shouldn't choose one or the other (or both and go with something else?)
If there's any guides that'll help me that would be great.
Not the same guy but i'd agree with you unless the skill would be on the floor, I see that it has a radius so if the skill is not a debuff but is instead a real skill on the floor that enemies need to walk away from then the 8 seconds duration is separate from the rest and every other line is what happens when a monster stays on the skill for a tick.
Nightblade is incredibly strong as a solo class, I waited to like level 30 before I finally choose something. You can keep playing and make your choice when you really know what playstyle you want to aim for.
Anyone got searing light maxed out on demo? Is it worth it on higher difficulties?
And in Markovian's Advantage and other skills that give bonus damage. Is that a general increase or do you only get that bonus damage from when the passive procs and only for that shot?
No, it's you. You came here and said that it does this thing. Everyone said that you are wrong but then you just go "oh but you need to prove that it doesn't do thing". So, yeah, the burden of proof is on you. You said you're an expert on it anyway so it shouldn't be a big deal for a hot shot like you.
only fedora tippers use insults when asked to explain why do they think otherwise
you belong right there
OP could provide evidence the moment I asked him to
the fact that he didn't only shows that he got the same result I did and thus left in shame
hot slith action @ twitch tv/miraqlnip
come watch this shitter die to grey spawns at normal difficulty
Okay there's something that's been bothering me for a while now, im level 42 and up to now i've been looting every yellow to sell it but honestly im tired of doing it, what do you guys do?
>Throwing meteors that do half my health and freezing projectiles
Fuck my ass if I ever encounter multiple heroes of this mob type
What exactly is the problem? Just click them and move on.
Although if you're running the BoC or the skeleton crypt dungeons where you can't teleport out you can just pick every green/blue/leg and leave the yellows on the ground since you'll run out of space.
Currently level 12 with the following build thus far:
Thinking of going Occultist/Nightblade and focusing on mainly poison and bleed damage.
I'm sort of considering a melee focused build where I curse/ bleed everything, set down a sigil and some other shit and brute force it with the help of DoTs and debuffs.
I also have some nice gear that caters to blood and poison damage.
On the other hand, DoT damage is fucking worthless against bosses and monsters that can heal themselves so until I can afford Doom Bolt or something I may just be fucked and need to completely respec.
>DoT damage is fucking worthless against bosses
You're so wrong m8. If anything that's who they're best against since normal enemies tend to die from the Acid/Vitality damage before the Poison gets to even do anything.
I'm clearly doing something wrong then since anything that can heal itself is currently a nightmare to deal with.
I'll revisit the tree and come back with another more complete build based on what I'm thinking on.
Dude listen, take my advice (I literally only play Occultist), one point into curse of frailty, and max the first ability in bloody pox. After that, level until you can get the trait that also HAPPENS to buff enemies. After that, lrn2kite and let ebola plague do the work. I recommend ranged with this kind of build, helps you kite.
What build(s) offer the fastest progression? I suppose this would mean which builds are the strongest but in terms of killing mobs the quickest and progressing through maps and that sort of stuff.
I full-clear every area on every character; can't stop.
Ah yeah are you the Druid anon? I'm staying away from additional lightning-based builds for now as my main does that and my Shaman alt has some lightning shit too.
Curious question though: Do you need the rep to actually WEAR the gear? For example: buying gear on my 'main' then giving it to an alt.
Gotcha. I could have probably checked myself but I don't currently have the game open. Ah well. Gear starts around 35 anyhow so it would be a while before I ever got that far.
I know that suffering you on hardcore? I can give you one.
sorry I'm not enough of a sadic to play hardcore, but thanks anyway. I needed three pieces for the savage relic, it fucking took me from respected to revered with the rovers and nemesis to the undead.
>the hidden merchant in Blood Grove
I missed that, where is it?
>trying to farm good gear in BoC
>get to level 65 or so
Normal and veteran should be level capped at 60
>mfw this nigger sells troll bonecrushers
A pet Conjurer build has the fastest clear time, and it's not really gear dependent. Just use every pet damage/attack speed/ offensive ability item you find.
It is a less active then other builds though, you're more of a support character, debuffing the occasional enemy. Build is amazing for farming.
If you want a more "active" builds, a Dreeg's Evil Eye Warlock or dual wielding handgun Sorcerer will reach some insane damage levels. But they are both kind of gear dependent.
Let's be honest, the skill is shit :
- There is no way to enlarge the beam
- It costs a hell lot of mana
- Two damage types 50/50 mean harder to scale
- You can't even use it as a boss killer since you will be interrupted and then need to wait 3 fucking seconds to be able to cast it again
>There is no way to enlarge the beam
This. this is just shameful, think about the amazing customization you can do on the same skill in PoE (Incinerate, which is to be honest mechanically 10 times better and more smartly designed that this green turd).
Also, cast speed doesn't affect the dmg/s of the ray it seems? come on.
Just did the Elite Logo fight on my commando. I was pretty much invincible thanks to all my maxed out resistances but the fight took fucking forever.
The loot was complete poop though just like it was in Veteran.
>want to make a vitality/bleeding conjurer
>all the good shit requires lots of points in each mastery
So I've put devotion points into Vulture incorrectly assuming I'm gonna get massive HP leech with my gunslinger Commando.
What should I invest those points into instead?
>43% damage absorption
>99% block chance
>88% shield recovery rate
>2200 block damage
>111% armor absorption
>20% phys resist
And I still feel the pain in HC Ult that I get scared to engaged more than 1-2 heroes at once in ACT ONE.
For people getting near the end of Elite, be warned that Ult is a whole different league. I could literally face tank Log and BoC mobs forever without dipping below 99% health but even 1 hero here makes big chunks of my health disappear at times.
>start a new character
>i have to hunt down every devotion shrine in all the shitty little caves and tunnels across the map
absolute worst part of every new char
I'm not sure about Domination. It's uptime is horseshit but Ancestor is always good and easier to make. Total speed is amazing for pets especially when you put Devotion procs on them.
Help me /gdg/
I'm trying to explain a friend the appeal of playing in HC but I can't find the words.
breath wipes trash all the way until ultimate
then the burn kicks in
NO. The worst part is that you have to grind rep for Rhowari to get that one fucking quest to repair Mogdrogens shrine. Running after all the other shrines isn't as bad as getting this one (3 across all difficulties) shrine.
i hated that part. i don't understand the rep grind in general. at 55 i'm like 10% of the way to unlocking nemeses for every single faction. i have no idea how people get so much rep.
I have enough procs to AoE things down. I don't mind taking longer to kill things when I never have to retreat or kite or be scared a random crit will obliterate me and ruin my HC run.
warders and spellbreakers are playing the game on easy mode
it's not hardcore when you have 3 times more EHP than others
if you're going to play melee, build lifesteal and CC reduction instead of wearing a barrel
do you get kicked out of the dungeon and lose your key if your game closes for any reason?
that seems like a pretty dumb thing for the devs to do in a game where shit heads can just use trainers and back up their chars anyways
I'm neither a warder or spellbreaker. I'm sorry your characters are dying. I do have some lifesteal with my Crimson Spike and reasonable CC resist. In fact, there isn't really anything that my character doesn't have a respectable amount of. I've seen those lifesteal builds you speak of and when the going gets tough, they have to resort to bottlenecking mobs in some choke point so they don't get analbasted because even if you do life steal all your life back in a cleave or what not, you're still susceptible to going from 100 to 0 when multiple enemies punch you in the dick.
Luckily mods will fix it. It's the one mod I'm looking forward the most to see, the one that will make the Mogdrogen shrine quest available even without rep shit. I like the rep stuff for gear, but gating important quests behind it is really fucked up on Crates end.
>had 2 1 h level 50 epic fire guns
>do shrine in the black sepulcher
>put devotion point in
>swamped my mobs
>GAME HAS CHANGED BOTH GUNS TO A SINGLE FUCKING BRIMSTONE REPEATER
WHAT THE FUCK GUYS
WHAT THE FUCK
It even has the fucking devil touched ammo slotted in it. I can't find my other two weapons anywhere.
HC sorcerer here, I reached Darkvale Gate and some bosses, mostly Bolvar the blood drinker and Zaria the carver were huge threats to my hp so I'm gonna start farming some stuff here and there.
Where are the best farm spots?
Jesus christ i'm a fucking retard.
Bolivr and Zaria are both complete bullshit fights that are in many ways harder than the Act 3 boss, especially for pistol builds.
You're probably fine to keep pressing forward. Shouldn't have any issues until the last boss, desu.
Outside of DW pistol builds soldier is probably the best proccer in the game, and is certainly the best for melee.
Put points in cadence, then get points in zolhans, markovians and fighting spirit. That's 3 proc abilities right there, not including shit that procs on hit or procs when you block.
procs procs proccy procs
occultist gets more benefits from devotion though
>all these chaos/vit constellations
>proc on death bound to doom bolt
>basically a proc on demand
>proc on attack bound to pox
>you get a proc and you get a proc
don't even get me started on sigil
Any tips for the rest of this build? I plan on playing with a couple friends who are generally shit at these games so I'll have to be the riftslut for them if
I'm thinking extra points in arcane will might be good, or more points into Mog's pact for better energy regen
anybody need 9 maivens hoods or 4 farmstead liberators?
it sure would be neat if there were more than 2 blues in my item pool
forgot link http://grimcalc.com/build/eOyKro
Is there something better than deviltouched ammo for a commando firestrike pistols?
I want to make a summoner, but would love to Rp it as a knight with divine help. Is Soldier/Shaman Or soldier Occultist viable?
Not pure summoner but would most likely use one or two summons at a time and melee.
Is it just me or are the miniscule debuffs in DA and OA that some spells and skills do, like -45 DA with maxed out Vulnerability, incredibly useless? What is -45 DA going to serve? Maybe in Act 1 if you max it out you might see a difference, but beyond that it's nothing. In Elite and Ultimate it'll probably give you something like a 0.03% better chance to hit. This shit is useless. It should be a percentage that they reduce, not a flat number, and certainly not such a low flat number at that.
It's weird as hell senpai. What do you want to focus on? Arcanist/Shaman sounds like a good combination for lightning damage.
I play a warder myself, so I can't really tell you anything about arcanist tree, but my shaman one looks like this. Also Mogdroden's is worthless by itself, you only take it for the 10% extra health on the heart of the wild. Just level spirit focus in your arcanist tree and chug a spirit potion if you run out of mana.
Well it's mainly supposed to be a tanky 2h build. Sphere and primal bond give roughly 40% damage absorption. Savagery line for damage, primal strike line for aoe trash clear, everything else is mainly for survibility. I don't recall anything in soldier that gives percentage based damage absorb without requiring a shield.
Primal strike isn't worth it for AOE, just stick a tsunami or a tempest onto your savagery and you'll be fine. Also wind devils and storm totems are pretty great, since they scale with your damage. Defence is nice, but I really don't see how you'll be able to kill tanky enemies. Maybe that won't matter since you'll play with friends.
Soldier tree is mainly for the +15% physique and +25% hp and increases to offensive and defensive ability. On higher difficulties it becomes a problem to even hit an enemy, since going for tankiness leaves your offensive ability in the dumpster.
>want to use sword and tome for occultist
>occultist is a squishy class
>pistols are useless wihtout dual wielding and heavy proc builds
>there is no hand-held crossbows
>only good setup for occultist is ranged and kiting
I just found this out. A little bit of an oversight, even as minor as it is. Still kind of cool none the less.
So whats the dealio with this shrine?
On a scale of Hambeast to Literal Whale, how fat do you guys think this character's voice actress is?
>steps of torment shrine on elite
Just root my shit up senpai
I'll give you one, start a game and post info.
The game has a memory leak, and teleporting seems to increase the ram usage a big chunk each time. When the game reaches 3.5~3.7 giga ram, it will crash.
Eh, I dont know if I wanna go down that road. I dont know, it just sort of feels like cheating, and seems like it'd be a slippery slope where suddenly I'm making trades left and right for legendaries I want once I've stopped being self found
I hope so, playing with 2 friends and the game crashes contently.
Well, start farming bastion of chaos\steps of torment, maybe the merchants there will have it.
You can also farm nemesis bosses, that is, if you can. They see to drop this relic non stop on veteran.
Unless you hunt Nemesis mobs, recipes are such a fucking crap shoot. For weapons, you can find stuff that could be decent placeholders until you get BiS or what not but for relics, there are HUGE differences between what is optimal for you and what isn't. Many times players will have to use level 25 relics well into the end of elite or as in the case of my friend, into Ult because the recipe/loot needed to make a good one just never dropped.
The skele merchants sell relic recipes? I stopped checking them since they only ever had crap
>Many times players will have to use level 25 relics well into the end of elite or as in the case of my friend, into Ult because the recipe/loot needed to make a good one just never dropped.
sounds like me
how common do legendaries become in the end of elite/ultimate? Because I'm looking and there's only like 1-2 of each type of armor I would even consider wearing for my guy..and out of 10+ legendaries for each slot the percentage I'd get one I could use seems awfully awfully low
I know grinding is typical in these types of games but I dont know, especially with the whole ambiguity of legendary drop rates once you outlevel stuff
Not very common at all. You can't outlevel things in Ult though so if you can farm that fairly well it is the best option for you with Nemesis and Heroes. Games like this promote trading though since you can't realistically find EVERYTHING you want for a character yourself without ridiculous grind time.
Alright, been trying to make a melee based Witchhunter around poison.
Trying to get up to Execute now, but starting to put points into my poison skills finally.
However, I really have no idea what to do for devotions. Right now I have Scorpions sting, working toward Manticore Sting and Tainted Eruption. Is there anything else that I should really go for?
what is the best leveling set in elite and why is it praetorians?
>lvl 52 facetanking packs of boars
When did Grim Dawn get a general thread here?
I'd assume recently since the vast majority of what I'm seeing is people being absolute garbage-tier at the game.
> Using Praetorian's
Looks like the matchmaker is down.
>have to invest 102 points in Replication Missiles to make them somewhat okay for Elite (52 in missiles, 50 in Arcanist)
>it still cannot compete with a random granted skill on a standard rarity component
Is there even a point to play this game at this stage or do we have to wait for them to recruit an actual game designer?
In hardcore, can you just copy certain files out of the folder as you play so you can restore them later and not be dead?
> He thinks PRM is bad.
Yeah I'm thinking about a writing script that would automatically backup my save folder on every modification, then would automatically restore it on death.
how about that for gitting gud?
If you can figure out how to bypass the fact that your save file is modified when you die in an encrypted manner, I'd say you're pretty good at cracking encryption.
Still shite at the game for dying though.
Nah you're right, it's too complicated.
the script with automated backup is running though, I just made an AutoScript macro that restores the backup file on demand.
So each time I die I just hit F9 and keep on going and posting cool hardcore screenshot in /gdg/.
More coming through!
I'm 13 hours late but you're a fucking mongoloid if you think Cooldown Reduction has any effect on Aether Ray.
It scales with Casting Speed retard.
Alright actually I samefagged between these two posts to answer you, but now I'm bringing in proof.
Pic related is handgear giving me +~30% casting speed. Removing it and only it makes the DPS of Aether Ray drop significantly.
Is there a good/up-to-date trainer I can use to add an item to my stash? I'm missing one item for a complete set and farming for a specific thing just doesn't work (RNG) Getting suicidal. The build will probably be shit anyway but I'm still maddening.
Mask of the Harbinger
Ever since I've hit high level (got 72 and 78) and finding set lego items, I've become a little fixated on making new characters that specifically uses a set. Like one of my characters uses mostly Ulzuin's (all but the pistols) and it looks nice. Then I go to my other high level and it's all messy (non-set) shit. Rustles my autism.
I haven't even planned the character tree build at all yet I'm all fixated on set gear now.
So trainers are a no go? Probably a good thing. Feeling I might add more and more shit and be a filthy jew.
> So trainers are a no go?
Trainers work, stash editors not so much. Although in theory you could inject items into the game through memory manipulation, but I don't think anyone's accomplished that yet.
I do not have a Mask of the Harbinger, sorry mate. :/ I've found about 70% of the Legendaries and that's still on my list.
Mask of the Harbinger is actually a blueprint drop, though: http://gracefuldusk.appspot.com/items/8312-Blueprint%3a-Mask-of-the-Harbinger
I meant the BP, but yeah. My mistake. My BP luck is awful. I mostly get dupes. Most of Elite isn't even good for my 78 anymore. I need to suck it up on Ultimate but damn frequently get anally-raped in Ultimate--still in Act 1. Imbalanced resists too.
> He thinks the 0.3 seconds skill recharge is referring to the damage rate of the skill.
Hahahaha, holy shit, you're either a troll or one of the most hilariously stupid people I've ever met.
That is the tick rate at which the game checks how much damage you should have done and is hard-coded in. Scaling cast speed makes you do more damage/second regardless of the tick check. Basically at 100% cast speed, you'll hit every 0.5 seconds, meaning that the tick check will actually apply the damage you've done at 0.6 seconds. At 200% cast speed, you'll hit every 0.25 seconds, meaning you'll have hit by the first tick-check at 0.3 seconds.
Even if that wasn't obvious, which it isn't, you're still hilariously stupid because getting more or less cooldown does not affect your damage output on the ray in any capacity.
Another way of looking at it is thus: that 0.3 seconds is actually the incremental duration of the skill, meaning that if you use the skill beyond 0.3 seconds, you cannot cancel it until you reach the next 0.3 second mark - 0.6 seconds (upon which time the game checks the damage you've done).
In the gamefiles, it's actually 0.25 seconds and not 0.3, but the text just rounds up.
> Class = Skill_AttackSpellBeam,
> FileDescription = beam of fire and aether dmg,
> Offhand = 1,
> beamName = records/fx/skillclass03/aetherray1_beam_fx01.dbr,
> distanceProfile = Long,
duration = 0.250000,
I'd say just start from lvl 60 and elite since normal is too easy anyway
Although, you don't really get a sense for what works and doesn't this way, it's different when you go through different zones and realize what your character lacks.
Oh, hell if I know.
I hate playing Aether Ray characters. I just know it scales with cast speed.
For reference (not a reply to you but a general thing to note), the following skills scale with Cast Speed:
Dreeg's Evil Eye
Albrecht's Aether Ray
Shadow Strike (windup animation)
>he thinks it's good
It's just another lazy spell in Crate's repertoire of copy pasting shit from other masteries so that they don't need to do any actual work. Not only is it lazy, it fucking sucks compared to DEE.
>PRM vastly outclasses DEE in Ultimate difficulty. Learn to play.
Not him and not sure what you are refering to, but I've got a PRM Arcanist in Elite lvl60, with all his skills / devotion / equipment devoted to it, and the problem is not the clear speed but the HUGE energy cost (amplified by all the +cast speed% you get), high skill points investment required and the lacking single target damage (you'll need another skill, let's be honest because replicating missiles don't replicate anymore when all the adds are dead).
What is the secret to make this skill good then?
>play grim dawn for first time
>play vet non-hardcore
>don't die at all
>WHY DIDN'T I ROLL HC
>enter final bosses lair
How am I suppose to kill it, I almost died like 5 times on the miniboss before him too
>He's a pure gearcheck, gives you a taste of Elite.
Yeah, just a taste then, because I'm pretty sure I rolfstomped him and the final BoC entropy boss, went to Elite and got killed by the first random hero I met in Devil's crossing.
>PRM vastly outclasses DEE in Ultimate difficulty. Learn to play.
Play a DEE Occultist and a PRM Arcanist to Ultimate and then come back. PRM is garbage and the only thing going on for it is the Elemental damage and even then everyone who knows something about the damage types knows that Acid is the strongest one in the game at the moment.
PRM is garbage at clearing masses and it's garbage at single targets. DEE does everything better.
I got fucked by Normal loggy but walked all over Elite like it was no problem at all. People who say that Loghorean is a taste of what the next difficulty is are full of shit.
Max hellhound, then max briarthorn. You can go either way now, but I prefer maxing CoA and Vulnerability and finishing the Occultist path.
You're both better off starting in epic by now, only thing that might be worthwhile in normal is fast nemesis runs.
>normal is fast nemesis runs.
I don't have any nemesis spawns yet, and I need tens of thousands of faction points to get there. How am I supposed to get that many? Is there some trick to this?
Not exactly. More just wondering if the online play is like D2. Character stored on the server, being able to start games and name them with others being able to see those games in a list and join them.
TL2's online was extremely minimal since it was just direct connecting to someone's IP address, and since there was no anti-cheat mechanism, half the people you'd connect to were just using Cheat Engine. Killed the game for me.
Okay, I went to "Join Internet game" (there was also a LAN option) and I've got a big empty list of current games, the kind you'd get in an online FPS. On the left are my Steam friends. The emptiness of the list is a bit worrying, not sure if it's just for Steam friends but the size of the game list looks like it's meant to be for general games, not just from your friends.
I'm an idiot. I had to refresh the list - I'd have assumed it would auto generate, but there we go.
So yeah, this is how it looks. You can see the other guys' characters on the right.
Yep, just realised that.
arpgs are fun and all but theres always a few gripes about the genre that NEVER go away
>having multiple playthroughs, the character peaks at 50+
>harder difficulties are just cheese as fuck
>the best builds require specific build items that are basically rng drops
>skills on specific build items dont have analogy in the skill tree
the first two i can deal with, the second two is just shitty grind based design
Same, sorta. I dropped dual wielding in favor of a shield. Dropping in and out of packs with shadow strike and dropping eyes/infinite gaze is great.
Saw that the Black Death skill gave BP poison damage/chance to confuse targets which seems attractive but i haven't gotten around to trying it yet. Hearing that it was apparently nerfed a lot was a bit disheartening too.
I'm horrible at this game so there's a good chance my build is garbage but I have points in Feral Hunger. If you pour all your points into boosting damage you're doing so much damage per hit that hitting multiple enemies with a FH proc is basically a full heal.
wrong game friend. Even with multiple skills there's no real impact to any of the abilities in this game. Combat is pretty bland, most skills are auto-attack modifiers or built around procs.
There's a few good spells but they get pretty boring after a while
My Templar tank build with a focus on fire & lightning damage/retaliation and 80%+ in all resistances face tanked Log on elite with only a few potions.
When I tried ultimate, I was getting my anus stretched by 5 rift roach heroes.
I didn't die, but was chugging potions and on the verge of death the entire time.
The difficulty jump from Elite to Ultimate is insane.
same level of hambeast as killing floor's nightmarish 'lovely big guhhnnnssszzz' lady. also poor audio recording.
odd, a lot of the characters you talk to once sound fine, the one you talk to a billion times sounds like shit.
>Having to get revered status with the black legion to access dead man's gulch mine
Favourite build so far.
>letting people touch you as an Aether Ray caster
This is why Warlock is my favorite class combo for AAR. One point in Curse of Frailty cuts mobs' movement speed in half. Then you just have to run around like a coward and spam the magic laser.
chek out my sikk build guys
>1 point in grenado for triggering devotion thingies, should probably use stun jacks instead but i dont like clicking all that much
>enough physique to use elementium
>+elemental damage components give resistances too
>occasionally press the not die button
is there a more braindead way to play this game?
What is this crap.
I'm scared to provoke him if it's gonna turn into another Mogdrogden.
Acid, chaos and aether damage are kind of a bitch but the rest are decent. Elemental resistances are ~74ish
the offensive ability debuff works sort of decently with the defensive ability buff i get from ulzuin's so I can sort of make up for having crap for armor because i have to use nighthunter's chestguard well into act 3
I can clear mobs relatively quickly but bosses do take a while. atm I only get like ~200 damage per tick from nightblade's aura
>Use Energy Leech to solve all Energy problems without having tons of Energy Regen itemization
>Ult purple name mobs have like 100% resist to that
COMPLETEY FUCKED. There goes any hope of killing Ult Fabius.
Nah, he doesn't . You can keep fucking with him.
Basically it's people following what they believe was a God but in secret Kymon made a deal with the Primordials. It's only significant because it means that they are serving a being that doesn't care if man lives or dies, instead of being someone who would lead them to salvation. More of a chaotic nuetral, instead of lawful good as they thought.
I blow through my energy faster than the potion cooldown. I have little spirit and energy pots don't have regen like health pots. Fabius also has some kind of mana burn as well.
Enchant some ectoplasm for 1, that helps a lot. otherwise generally speaking just speccing into the talent tree helps a lot. I have put 0 points into energy and at level 39, i have 1868 without trying. That's enough to sustain my ~82 energy per second ability spam with potions, as long as the fight doesn't last longer than 2cds, i seem to run out about 10 seconds before the 3rd pot is up, but that only happens on extreme bosses.
I am really not sure if the Korvaak, the forgotten god, counts as a chaotic natural. He seems to be another evil fuck that just want to eliminate the competition right now, so he could fuck everyone up instead.
His shrine behind the messenger, and his secret tomb found in Gryver's Mill just scram evil to me.
Well true, but that's kind of my point. For the current crisis in grim dawn might be serving his purposes, they also serve humanities, to rid the more immediate threat. So it kind of settles on the neutral line, for now.
No, because I think this game doesn't do hc very well desu. There is some things in this game that have killed me and after 200 hours i still don't 100% get it
i don't know actually, i just read on reddit that nemesis spawns drop legendaries alot
>tfw able to face-tank everything but it takes a million years to kill shit
It's especially horrible on ultimate. I did Salazar a few minutes ago and the fight took about 10 minutes. I thought picking grenado and maxing that shit out would do something but even with the +230% dmg proc it does just as much as a cadence crit.
Best part about grenado though is
>throw grenade into enemies faces
Go to do Arkovien Undercity and Steps of Torment, Moose has a pretty big chance in spawning in either of these 2 places. IF you could, try and get Fabius from Cronley's gang, he is even easier to find.
I have while I found every nemsis multiply times, I have yet to see the Aetherial one with any character. His spawn chance his so low, you might as well treat him like he doesn't exist.
It's a either chaos magic, aetherial corruption, vitality dots, posion/acid bugs or
Loxmere Nightmagemost of the time.
>No Necromancer mastery
>No Nature mastery
The pain won't end.
Titan Quest had a mod called Paths with 9 different masteries. One of them was necromancy.
At first you're razzle dazzled with how in depth they all are, until you realize it's a very well polished turd.
I don't know if they're immune, but leeches have a shitton of vit resistace. I have a melee vit build and they take fucking ages to kill in BoC.
LEECHES ARE NOT BUGS YOU FUCKTARD THEY'RE
>crusing through normal veteran
>haven't died a single time so far, build is working incredibly well for me
>make it to the necropolis
>some fucking nobody champion/hero person instantly blow me the fuck out
who the fuck is loxmere nightmage and why did I just get fucked up in 1 second? I couldn't even react fast enough for a MoE, it was just an instant kill
My guess is his attacks come with Energy Burn which damages you based on the the amount of energy it takes off your bar
That and 0 energy = turns off all your buffs like that anon said
Same thing happened to me.
Now i'm scared as shit of going back there on my current HC character.
Jesus, he's not even a boss though. I thought I was just about ready to start my first HC character and now I'm second guessing everything
Losing a character on HC to this fucker has got to be pretty depressing
Yeah, I read that on the forums.
He needs to tell that to my dead HC level 82 battlemage with good gear.
>Crate confirmed for not playing Ultimate
I do kind of like the idea of him lurking around though, he adds some good tension to the area. >_>
It only drives me to do it again, losing your HC characters is part of the fun.
I have some weapons I can trade. Would the weapons in the picture related be good for you? Probably the Temporal Tempest.
>takes 8 years for me to kill any purple named mob and some heroes in Ult
>the loot is always hot garbage
>feel like I get better/more loot in elite and even normal nemesis runs
Why do I even wake up in the morning
Yeah figured as much. How is your druid going so far? I want to try a Shaman build myself. Half my drops were for one, so if live gives you lemons....
I also screen capped two wrong items on my picture, I wanted to following weapon and offhand.
All the red gives me headache and I also prefer fighting skeletons to giant anus monsters.
It's not, though. The reason that NJE SS builds are good is because you can just slap bosses and then walk away from them and avoid most of their damage. It's actually hilarious that medierra thinks witchblade SS builds are bad.
It's doubly frustrating because the forums are populated by pussy faggots who back up their HC chars, dupe items while claiming they now how the game progresses, and stroke their e-peens because they can cheese dangerous champions with knockdown mechanics.
So much this. More than half the builds on the forums are just not viable to play if you don't have 100% luck and manage to get the right specific items you need to get that shitty build to work. The faggots all use dupped items from shared saves, and transfer saves like no tomorrow.
You mostly just need cold and vitality resistances.
