Oh yeah I forgot about that.
Judging by how similar the style of those posts are, I'm fairly certain half of them are
>>Bagle has not done ANYTHING about Project Avatar.
This demo may have a time limit but it still seriously annoying seeing that red bar getting more and more filled with him not doing a single thing about it.
>first terror mission had zombies, chrysalids, and floaters
>wiped out my squad and my best soldiers
>lose hope but push on, eventually start getting back up there
>special mission to reduce panic in newfoundland, take it because NA is in the red
>abandoned fishing village full of, you guessed it, chrysalids and zombies
>do a pretty great job sweeping the place until 2 chrysalids just ambush me and wipe out two men, my up-and-coming best soldiers
>now infinite chrysalids start to spawn, have to rush to place airstrike beacon
>have to rush back to LZ
>one of my men activates the beacon and dies trying to get out
>last soldier manages to evac and the place goes up in flames
then most recently,
>my heavy Zhang from the story gets bugged and stuck in a wall
>dies to floaters
>floater oneshots my other soldier
>finally clear the bullshit mission and come back to two more countries in panic
am i gonna make it
>>That whole Overwatch.
It was so good it was scary to watch.
beagle is so out of control the aliens actually seem like they're behind.
keep in mind the December missions we saw were in April and the aliens had several Mecs, turrets, etc. on each mission and even a Muton here and there. they can barely afford to field Sectoids and Vipers right now
>>THIS WHOLE MISSION
>Ayys get absolutely demolish
>Not a single one managed to get a shot off
>100% shots fired hit
This is surely a regular showing of legendary difficulty. Fucking beagle luck.
>"if I could do it all again-"
>All those explosions
This. He has been avoiding the main stuff for too long. Not to mention this wouldn't be the first time he misses the ball in the Strategic Layer.
Where's the excel sheet for use when it comes to figuring out what class to pick for a soldier depending on their stats as a rookie?
How high should aim be when deciding between sniper and scout?
>>When was the last time you ever saw a cow?
>community whines about Xcom2 being too easy after seeing Beagle play it
>Firaxis bumps the difficulty up
>Release day comes, XCom2 rapes the shit out of everyone
IT'S THE TFTD DEBACLE ALL OVER AGAIN
>>All those shots.
>>All those hits.
>>All that USEFULNESS.
It's High Noon. Every Time. All the Time.
it takes up a slot in your HQ hanger, you can move it to other hangers through the hanger menu. It function identically to an interceptor and you choose to use it like when you choose to use an interceptor.
Turns out this mechanic is fucking ass and makes the game incredibly easy. Like, this is easier than the easiest difficulty on EU, and I'm not even exaggerating. Beagle has gotten shot ONCE this entire campaign.
Yeah. They kind of lost something on translation.
Boy these ADVENT MECs are going down fast.
They really need to step up their game.
Holy shit that suppression sound and shaking.
>Elitist babies mad that their super secret club game will be accessible to people who have a life and friends.
People shouldn't have to poor 400 hours into this game to be able to beat the hardest difficulty.
>Beagle breezes through it
>Beagle squadwipes every second mission
I'm happy to hear that the devs are still balancing the difficulties, and that they'll be making Legendary much more difficult. I just hope they can strike that fine line between the current one and what Beagle made for himself.
>We have to keep killing. I haven't stopped killing yet.
You almost feel sorry for the Aliens.
>>Taking on the Project Avatar missions can decrease the overall advance of the aliens.
That a relief to hear.
>>"Commander there are Interceptor UFO hunting for the Avenger. We need to be careful with our flight paths."
AIR GAME SOON.jpg
Never Lose Hope.
That was 'weird' to put it lightly.
>From what little I've seen, she's breddy based
Just watched the TB preview. Seems really fleshed out, and seems to have a ton of features and new additions, so I'm excited.
I haven't followed Xcom2 news closely, so are there any decent previews/news I can check out?
>stop playing that game or no sex
And that's why you stay away from 3DPD.
Missed that one. Thanks.
>If you spend all of your actions on moves, you are granted an automatic overwatch shot at the end of the turn.
So I guess not if you move and then shoot? You can basically double move into an overwatch position.
You mean at the end? Beagle basically has run all the 3-Month limit of the demo but, for the last mission, he was in a real life time limit because some Jamball stuff she wanted right at that moment.
Beagle run that last mission on record time despite Jamball literally breathing down his neck the whole time.
Beagle wa Yuusha de Aru.
So, new player with a problem.
I have full satellite coverage over South America, but saved the game right before an alien battleship decided to come in the bully everyone. The problem is I can't shoot it down because I only have basic interceptors so it inevitably raises the panic in one of the countries to max.
Do countries still leave if they have a satellite over them? That seems kinda silly.
They will still leave. Just engage with an interceptor and then run away instantly. I think the game counts that as attempting to do something and the panic is less. Just spam click on the abort button.
>Beagle will spend the next several days fawning and debasing himself for the privilege of being able to sleep in his own bed again
Seriously though he's dangerously addicted to Xcom 2
To be REALLY fair, Beagle knew for a fact they had plenty of time before the store they needed to go to closed, but Jamball insisted they didn't and wouldnt say why, because basically, she's a bitch.
So laser sword are going to be a thing after all. Do we know that's the tech tier that follows Mag/Gauss yet?
It's Saturday. The store would most likely close around 5/5:30.
It was only 4 when Jamball started insisting they leave. They still had over an hour and she was being a bitch cause he wanted to spend 5 minutes finishing the final mission.
I just haven't seen this evidence of the "horrifying monster" that Jambal is. Half the time its just people bitchin about the smallest things. And I as I already mentioned I enjoy their DnD nights that Jambal DMs. People are so nosy about other peoples relationships and like to bring their excellent insights.
Why do people say the viper is the true form of the thin men?
Like I get it would be a more original state,
I'm not disputing wither vipers came from thin men or not,
but after being heavily spliced with humans for however long, wouldn't it make sense that some human-eqse features would be retained?
Also does anyone remember what the research on the says?
Does this look like a monster to you?
Well its Vipers->thinmen->Vipers.
The research is codenamed Viperus and it specifically mentions reptillian eyes and snake like orgins
Looks like its enemy within, specially since it introduces a new class and missions.
Turning on training roullette is likely to make your campaign more difficult. The base classes are strong. Only turn on roullette for fun run.
Okay, I thought I remember them being reptilian and ...malleable? elastic? on a genetic level.
I just figured this form is closer to it's original state with human bits left over (what with everyone else getting human bits too), then I saw people throwing a bitch fit about it's lack of realism, and wanted to settle things before responding.
Thank you anon,
They're perfect for each other.
Large manly jamball and skinny skeleton beagle.
>at 2:17:49 you can see the first second of the game over cutscene and then - once you sit through him waving his hands annoyingly - see his reaction to watching it.
>"This is definitely how XCOM 3 starts."
>finally get around to trying long war
>first mission has 10 sectoids, and they have damage reduction
>squaddies are equipped with fucking worthless AP grenades so my attempts to clear cover are useless
>manage to win anyway
>nothing happens for a week
>first UFO contact; large ship, which I let my interceptor plink at then give up when it lands a return hit
>literally 1 second of scanning later another UFO shows up in the same area, interceptor is damaged so I can't chase it
>nothing happens for 3 weeks
>china gets taken over
>council mission, rescue van doorn
>sectoids have more HP, also a thin man shows up and 1-shots my rocket dude
mods didn't fix it
>Does everything wrong
Just saying, literally everything you listed here was a bad move or your just not aware of how the mod works. Go into the ini and half the repair times for interceptors. Also turn on the second wave option Commander's choice. And read the Long War FAQ in the OP.
Default Game Core
Step it up commander
Step one: Get Notepad++ if you don't have it already. Its not necessary but makes it far less of a headache.
Step two: Find DefaultGameCore.INI, it should have enough comments for you to figure out the rest. If you still have questions go to the FAQ in the OP. There are a few things you can't do with the inis, namely the air game, but they are still moddable once you learn how.
The first thing I mod will be starting the game with six soldiers and making the upgrades be for 7 and 8 soldiers and then upping the pod strength by three or four.
More soldiers more better.
Beags is probably tired of having people try to wheedle xcom2 related shit out of him
Imagine being bothered 24/7 by impatient kids that want you to fuck up your relationship with Firaxis and any future possibilities of early access just so they can spoil themselves a month early
One fucking month
No shutup I want my xcom now now now now
What prompted you to even post this>
Price of doing business. He makes money off of doing streams and XCOM 2 is helping him get more viewers. If he didn't want people to bug him he wouldn't tell them he had a demo copy. But he did so tough shit. Ignoring people on the internet isn't the hard anyway. So unless there is some sort of Taken situation with Jamball he really doesn't have much to bitch about.
>So unless there is some sort of Taken situation with Jamball he really doesn't have much to bitch about.
I predict their future wedding will be crashed by a group of armed men dressed up as Exalt
>yfw beagle planned it all
The ultimate themed wedding, people actually die... just like in xcom
It's more to do with the huge Overwatch buff in 2 from them being consecutive now. Scenario: single enemy steps through a door into 6 Overwatches
>all 6 soldiers shoot and likely kill the enemy, the rest of his crew step past him
>1-2 soldiers shoot and kill him, the other 4 are ready to kill more aliens
Something is strange with beagles game.
I watched the total buscit video and some lifestream from another guy and they get more difficult enemies than beagle.
One guy i saw yesterday played on "Commander" difficulty and got Advanced ADVENT Troopers with 8HP, ADVENT Officers with 10HP, pods with one Viper and 2 sectoids.
What got Beagle ? The same pods every mission with only one boss in a pod and the low HP ADVENT soldiers we see March 1.
Maybe he messed something up with his build or he have an older one.
engineers, because you spend cash for workshops to give you engineers and getting them directly just skips that foreplay
doesn't help that they decided to give everyone opportunist and lnl for no good reason
>I thought that was only when concealment was up
yes, but its still a pretty major buff, if you took the EU system and removed the part where activated pods get to move to cover, it would be LESS abusable since you'll still get one free shot per dude but at least you don't get to position perfectly before it.
They caved in somewhat to babies that went aboohoo over the free turn aliens get on discovery. Now you are almost guaranteed to annihilate the first pod you encounter and without fast reinforcements to overwhelm the defenders making it easy to dig in and demolish.
You'll need to either 1) Make pods patrol overlap and aggro at the same time if close enough to one another or 2) Account for this and throw in one extra pod
I checked Nuuvem but it's unavailable in my country (Amerifat).
Would using a VPN to try work around that limitation have reprecussions when I use the game? It seems to activate through steam so they might realize that I jewed their jewery, but do you think they'd act on it?
Not fast enough to overwhelm the defenders actually. The avenger defense mission had them drop in pairs which were slaughtered the momment their feet touched the LZ and by the time they drop in 4s, the guy had already cleared out the area and was ready to finish. Reinforcements that can break an entrenched player need to be big heavy shit way above your tech level in order to do anything.
I'm not in my PC right now but someone already make a Power Axe model a while ago.
You forgot tentacles.
I think they have some fetishes. They even exhibit questinable art of the snek on a wall in the office.
Yeah, the balancing looks really strange, but they work on it. The builds are from mid-December or maybe even earlier.
Remember, they didn't want to balance them by just inflating their health and armor. Aliens are also suppose to have abilities that make them more dangerous. Mutons are the ranger equivalent now, so they get a melee attack.
Who knows what other stuff they get, maybe Legend offers them a few more perks then they would normally have. Like Reaper.
Fair enough if that's the case. I remember the Blacksite stream that took place roughly a month after the press journalist ones (event was in November, the NDA on it just broke mid-December) had changed health numbers on enemies. I'll wait to judge for final release.
shieldbearers appear later on and buff their allies' defense, but otherwise no. although I think troopers get grenades at some point later in the campaign.
still a hell of a lot better than the first month of EU being literally just sectoids with thin men on your council mission
should i play enemy within before playing enemy unknown? I noticed there's a different scientist. Is there an ending to enemy within? I always assumed it just went on forever getting harder. I never assaulted the alien base tho
But I want them to be a threat. I also want to have that amazing moment when this idiot activates Reaper, runs up to my Ranger and just procs their Untouchable. Then Bladestorm procs and they die to it.
God that perk is so amazing. Who thought it was a good idea to make that perk. Untouchable means that my Ranger is going to be bait for so many attacks if I know there is only one enemy in range.
Leaving them out in the open is not going to be an issue most of the time.
Hey guys, I'm starting a new LW game and I want to use the Code Names list. It looks like the OP's file has all the full name in the Last Name slot.
Does it have to be like that? I'm pretty sure it wasn't like that when I played b14 and I'd rather it give them a first and last name if that's an option
They had to have done balance changes or something, looks like for the worse unless we're looking at out-of-order builds.
Advent Mecs in Beagle's Legendary War Hand have 10 health, 2 armor. In his preview build they have 7 health, 2 armor. The three health really makes all the difference.
Yes it is, but it also makes your first attack always hit, which is honestly insane, since even sword attacks seem to fail a good number of times for both Advent and the player.
Just imagine enemies like the Codex that have naturally high dodge and just being able to say "screw that" and deal full damage to them anyway.
The repositioning is also freaking amazing for the Ranger. Not only can you kill a group clustered together, but you can still move into cover afterwards. If you are close enough to a Psi Op, then he can use Inspire on your Ranger to give them another turn and then you can activate run and gun to be able to move and shoot. Sure it's only a blue move, but that might be just enough to get into a flanking position and take a shotgun blast, which is far better then what your sword strike would be at that point.
This guy play on legendary too and look at the alien units on this as "easy" classified missions.
And than rewatch Beagle "moderate" Operation Demon Peak in may, than you see the difference.
3 weak "bosses", 3 stunlancer and 3 normal troopers
Yeah, i think they messed something up and that will get fixed at release. Aliens have normal difficulty HP thats not enough on legendary.
Pretty much. If I'm not mistaken separating the first and last name in the file wont match them together, so if you want to put in the names A B and C D you might end up getting A D instead
>Get a small UFO landing
>Send in a mix of A-team and B team for XP, can't be that hard!
>Turn 2 I aggro flowers, on ayy activity a pod of mutons and seekers aggro too
>Lost my B team assault and 2 rookies
Well, at least I captured a muton, I guess... Still need to capture the crystal ayyy
Right, that's how the old one worked, it had a bunch of first words and a bunch of second words and it randomly threw them together. Made it easier to replace words with silly personal stuff and have them still show up.
Oh well, if this is how it has to be I'll just live with it.
Actually, I only used the last name slots because that's what you see the person as during a mission. You still have the same amount of names as you would if the game chose randomly between a first name and a last name.
>aggro a drone with my last action of the turn
>eh whatever everyone's in cov-
>pair of non-aggroed sectoids on LITERALLY THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE MAP break out of FOW and flank crit two of my rookies for instant kills
What the actual fuck.
Watch the video:
Untouchable ist at 29:53 , Bladestorm and reaper at 34:27. Look for bladestorm at the left lower corner.
I too, but let them balance it first. Balancing is very important for such a game.
Thanks and I see what you mean. That shit looks redonk. Blade damage is incredible and it looks like rangers are going to be the best shit ever for dealing with regular enemies.
So what is the ideal team shaping up to be? Two snipers or two rangers? Assuming one of each other class. Heavies and rifle snipers look like the boss killers with sword rangers and gunslinger snipers for everything else. Psi-Ops are just massive force multipliers.
Yeah but specialists also fall under support so I can't see more than one of them. With six people I see rangers and snipers are the best choice for having a double so far. I'm leaning towards sniper after seeing how wide the area for Kill Zone is and how it well it works when you know where a pod is. One gunslinger and one rifle sniper seems like the best option.
I think it's bullshit, even more considering the story of the game.
How the fuck can a resistance movement, that is struggling for supplies and personnel at every corner, somehow, magically, conjure up unlimited copies of high-tech weapons you literally just researched?
It's casual bullshit.
Finally, finally it's over. With Xcom 2 so close and all the new videos, LW post are far less common than days before and people change it mind too.
I first visited /xcg/ after xcom 2 reveal. All played LW and if someone said he play Vanilla they laught at him. Some months later it was ok to play Vanilla and yet people stop reading if they hear LW.
So it's over... only Xcom 2 now.
They are good, but they don't get the attachment bonuses from the main weapon.
Sharpshooter get heavily nerfed, a Colonel have only 91 aim now, Xcom:EW sniper had 105.
Pistols suffer also range penality like shotguns too. And because of their low damage, they are weak against armor.
I will try the sniper build. It make seems weak, first because of the squadsight nerf, but you can kill and hit multiple targets as well.
They keyability for that is "Kill Zone" and allow you to shoot in overwatch at ANY enemy what move or shoot in the area of the (big) cone.
So where the pistol-sharpshooter go close and activate his coolddowns to hit the aliens, the sniper could stay back and can do this forever with his high power sniperrifle.
Expanded magazines and/or autoloader will help for reloading alot.
Aren't there also those PSC things that can boost soldiers? I think there are some that boost aim since there are some that can boost hp, mobility, and dodge.
I see gunslingers as more starters or finishers for weak or weakened enemies respectively since it lets them shoot off a bunch of attacks that do relatively lowered damage.
I disagree. Tooling up is far far more expensive than the per unit cost of items produced.
Literally the only difference mechanics-wise is dumping the "make items available" button.
The Avenger probably has some sort of fabrication facility which has no trouble creating them given the supplies. It was so hard in to create weapons in EU because it was poorly understood tech being created using human means. The aliens and by extension the Avenger can probably fabricate anything that you want considering its a supply ship. It still costs supplies to build them it's just more streamlined which isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you really want to buy them individually again mods.
I'm ok with the change considering the idea of mass fabrication being a posibility, what might be cool is if the first mission you use a new weapon you can only bring one as a sort of combat trial while the rest of the squad has to bring weapons with known reliability
The ability to literally sit behind a patrol, go into maximum Overwatch and have them walk into your LOS and all die before they can even retaliate is broken. It is more broken than EU vanilla snipers.
>giving a shit when you can just change the nationalities and skin colors and even genders
Hell you can probably modify the files so that niggers and people from those trash countries dont appear
It have a chance to activate and dont work against machines.
Yes, and there is +10 aim ammo too, but i think it's not a good idea to use this ammo for gunslinger.
It looks strong, but after i made the maths i see how nerfed the sharpshooter got. There is almost no way to 100% hit on squadsight anymore, and gunslinger is a close range class.
Even beagle said run 2 grenadier + 2 specialists and not 2 gunslinger.
For me it looks like thatGunslinger is a "burst" class who need enemies in low or no cover to be good. And than all abilties are on cooldown...
Sniper get nerfed too, but i image that a
2x squadsight-sniper + phantom-ranger combo can be really good.
Yeah but beagle plays in the most slow and boring way possible. He would rather lame it out for 50 turns than complete it in ten. Which is fine if you enjoy playing that way. Beagle is a great person to listen to if you want to win every mission in you come across and lose zero soldiers but at the cost of doing it in the most boring way possible.
because you have to manage your supplies.
You can go cheap and only buy minimum weapons to fit your squad but don't complain when you suddenly need twice as many for everyone or someone dies and you lose that weapon.
Now they've eliminated that mechanic there's a ton less variables to care about in the long run.
So I started playing this game about a week ago and I'm really starting to get the hang of it, but I was wondering. How important in the early game is it to not kill enemies with explosives? I find myself taking advantage of these situations where 1 rocket can kill 3 thin men and I'm not sure if I'm hurting myself in the long run.
Nope. I've heard though that it's just him BTFO 4hp advents, so what? I see potential for a patrolling group of mutons and a patrolling group of cyberdiscs and choosing which one you don't want to fight. I've also seen a screengrab of a dark event called vigilance with text saying advent will be harder to sneak up on, potentially removing concealment.
At any rate, I find it most entertaining that you dont see the irony in advocating blue move overwatch congalines for full mission concealment and breaking los to confuse AI, and then complaining when firaxis turns it into actual mechanics.
>Advent killed all the dogs
It's on now motherfuckers
It can make you knock your head a bit when you're just a few weapon fragments or corpses off of that research, but it is worth it over losing a soldier, especially one with ranks and gear.
Let me go ahead and tell you a secret.
FUCK VAHLEN. FUCK HER FOR REAL. The biggest lie in XCOM is that you shouldn't use explosives. You really should. It's guaranteed damage which is why the game tries to discourage you in order to force you to roll the dice. Use explosives at every opportunity because it really won't affect your supplies that badly and it's infinitely better than risking a shot and losing a soldier. You can stop using them once your soldiers can hit shit but before that keep them flying.
>swapped stinking dogs for sexy snaketits
Im alright with it
I agree, but he do well on timed mission to. But the game isn't even slightly balanced: easy pods everywhere, and third month easy pods look like exactly the same like first month pods in beagle his games. i saw some more serious stuff in other videos.
It's totaly broken. You get effective 2 turns for one pod, this take out 1/3 of the map without any problem.
I think Concelemant should make it easier to explore the map more quicker, not makeing the game too easy.
The best chance would be, that the enemies get a free turn after their activation. So they suprise you, not you them.
This change should not affect Rangers who get spotted during a mission.
Beagle is playing on modded Legendary which seems to work like Marathon. He also has better gear than he should have because of the mods. It's also clear that they fucked up the demo copy and didn't actually change how the difficulty levels worked.
The ADVENT Mecs in the Legendary demo have 7 health as opposed to the ones in the Firaxis visit video which have 10. So something is fucked up.
I'm in need to acquire her name anon.
google gives nothin
Yes. Many things aren't right. I read, that the more advanced developer build (sectoid panic effect got buffed) what they show us 2 days ago, is already 1 month old. So there is no balancing at all, or even better, they didn't put all stuff in the pre-relase build anyway, because its only a demo.
Thanks anon. Now i can progress my research on the subject.
on the topic of snek, someone in previous thread mentioned a snek wrapped around a civvie? where was this?
It's likely going to be changed in a day one patch. The intention of the mechanic was-
>Put everybody but one soldier on Overwatch
>Shoot with one soldier
Instead Beagle has turned it into a free move on his part by having the aliens walk into an easy as piss to set up Overwatch trap.
You can also tell how many people the overwatch kills or targets before they even start firing. The enemies that aren't triggering it move at normal speed while the ones that do trigger it either by the previous person dying or running into another soldiers LOS are slow-mo. So if you trigger a pod of three and they all move in slow motion from the start then you know you killed at least two of them.
Any guides for all my squad to survive a Site Recon mission?
1 or 2 CCS Assaults and Squad Sight sniper and this mission is a cake walk.
Move slowly, blow up all sharks/fishes most mobile unit goes for the button and bail as fast as possible.
Also before activating it set up overwatch guard on the bridge before the entrance to the ship with whale.
1. Bring a team with atleast 1 high mobility troop
2. Others can be snipers, engis, rocketeers or overwatch specialized troops
3. Find yourself a comfy spot to dig in
4. Keep overwatching while the high mobi guy runs to activate pods if none are coming your way.
5. Apply explosives when needed
6. Destroy the hanging shark carcasses if you wish
7. Keep killing the lids for as long as they keep coming, they are not endless
8. when no more lids are coming, run that high mobi troop to activate the objective while others get to evac
9. run to victory with high mobi troop
Easy as fuck.
A fix if you are playing Long War. If you are late in the game, overwatch troops might not be that useful due to lids having a leader/navigator with lightning reflexes, which means that being outside of lids blue move range is important.
step 1: shotguns
step 2: explosives
step 3: vigorous brain training to raise IQ above 10
step 4: fuck cover
step 5: fuck crysalids
step 6: groupie around the whale on top of crys babie corpses
step 7: acknowledge that you
In case of Long war: pic related
>the "loss" of a mechanic that never existed sucks
Right. Because punishing a player for bad decisions with a trooper's lost xp/skills isn't harsh enough, it needs to cost supplies as well.
>Install enhanced soldier customization mod
>I can now make female troopers grow at will between missions
it's good to be commander
I think I'm going to make them a little bigger with each kill
gene-mod giantess soldiers will save this planet
a shitload, but it's not infinite
it's not really worth camping the whale to kill them all, but it's possible
as far as I know that's still possible
>force all my guys to wear the helmet with the nvg mount
>armor deco 3 with the big bulky carrier
>color 9 for olive drab
i love it. all my guys look uncomfortable as fuck and it makes me nostalgic. if only they had varying body types so i could make the skinny guy carry the SAW
I think xcom in 2 is still too hitech.
I would love to see a total desperation period where the resistance has been just started by some bums throwing rock at the ayys, and charging them with nailed sticks, slowly working up to spears bows as outcasts tha have been living in the wilds join up, then as more knowledgable city ppl get inspired and thow their lot in: booby traps, pipeguns, makeshift explosives until the city gets thrown into chaos and the overlords just have enough and start to mop up, only to be thwarted by xcom remnants that were in hiding and passive sporting 2015 military equipment. Making the city its base and start to reverse engineer the captured "mop up equipment". They hold out for quite a bit using anything they can get their hands on, then one final big battle of defending the avanger before its first liftoff while ayys close in form every direction. After they get away, they go back undergroundagain for a few years to lick their wounds.
Thats right. A Youtuber had on an easy UFO mission 3 times more dangerous enemies than Beagle during an a moderate mission. And even on that UFO mission, aliens have the same amout of HP like in normal difficulty.
Like before i said, a developer wrote that the more odern build they showed us during the lifestream is one month old... also before all the balancing. And the game comes out next month.
It goes deeper than that. The build they played in December had HP balancing. The build that the demo version is of is allegedly older than that build. So who knows what the fuck is going on with the builds but Legendary is essentially normal mode with longer build times right now. Beagle might have easier missions because the increased build times apply to the aliens too except that he modded his own times down which resulted in more shit faster than the aliens. So beagle is cheating basically.
I watched another stream, where someone play on classic. Advent soldiers have the same HP than on legendary, Aliens the same as on normal. Yeah, something is wrong with that build.
The newest build (not beagle ones, but from firaxis lifestream this week) is from december. The build on that event in november is much older. I don't know why they play so much around, anyway, all this builds didn't include in-deep balancing.
There are strange things:
In Xcom:EU/EW we had on higher difficulties lot of (very) difficult missions, beagle have all the time only easy ones and the enemies didn't really step up. In the Xcom 2 startmission you have only 4 rookies and must kill 2 minibosses and 8 enemies total, but in may with 5 people, leveled and geared up, you fight 3 minibosses and 9 enemies total ? Something is fucked up.
FINALLY BEING ABLE TO MAKE SQUAD MEMBERS RIGHTEOUS SERVANTS OF ALLAH!

ISIS gonna save the world and cleanse it of western degeneracy and heresy in every playthrough.
It's possible they didn't actually add the mission balancing for Legendary yet only the lower difficulties. So Legendary is just straight up normal and the next difficulty down is actually the current hardest because they did get around to balancing those missions.
>Improve overwatch to not make all target the first alien that comes in range
>Do nothing to compensate for it
>Actually create a playstyle with guierrila shit and patrols that literally makes overwatch the best tactic
WOOOOOOW WHY IS OVERWATCH SO GOOD
I think not, but Xcom have friends on the ground: The resistance. They can even attack ADVENT-convois at their own.
Heck, i watched yet Totalbuiscuit "normal difficulty" play-throught and Stun Lancer have more HP (6), than Beagle on legendary (only 5) !
Maybe people got different versions and Beagle got the worst one, or he messed really up with the Inis.
Legendary isn't normal, but its like Commander, ADVENT soldiers get one more HP and pods are bigger than on normal.
>Heck, i watched yet Totalbuiscuit "normal difficulty" play-throught and Stun Lancer have more HP (6), than Beagle on legendary (only 5) !
That could be the effect of a Dark Event. There's one that gives ADVENT more armor.
He meant TotaBliscuit had mybe a Dark event running, what give the Stun Lancer 1 HP.
I saw one time, that an advanced Trooper get 1 armor. In TotalBiscuit's game, all units have their HP we know (officers 6, trooper 3), so i don#t think there is a dark event running.
I bet they had something in mind with the scout ranger. Firaxis know that people will use it for sniper shots and overwatches, so there must be a balance around that. And i saw one:
Xcom classes have lower aim. Sharpshooter only 91, Ranger and Specialist only 80. overwatch don't hit that well anymore after you are not anymore in stealth.
There are more enemies in a mission which have (expect in beagles gameplay) more HP.
Many missions have a timelimit, so overwatching all the time isn't possible.
>He meant TotaBliscuit had mybe a Dark event running, what give the Stun Lancer 1 HP.
Those aren't permanent though, are they? If I recall correctly they are only active for a month.
The problem is that the seeming "problem" with Overwatch when there isn't any. It is a tool to be applied to on a situational basis like with any other mechanic. There are just as many times that other players with the preview build show where overwatch simply isn't a viable option past the first ambush. Even in Beagle's own stream, there was an occasion in one of his early games where he tried to bait enemies using Overwatch on top of a building, and yet he ultimately had to engage anyway.
And even if Overwatch is more prevalent, that by itself does not constitute "shit gameplay". Overwatch bounding was boring in XCOM: EU because the circumstances behind it were similarly as dull. Given the more dynamic nature of XCOM 2 where there's more compelling reasons to move around due to mission objectives Overwatch traps are more situational now instead of SOP. Try going into multiple turn Overwatch trap in an objective where there's a 12-turn time limit to get to an extraction point and see where that gets you.
>Beagels can do it! It needs to be harder!
Read more in this thread, something is wrong with his build. Than he hack with increased buildtimes and legendary foremost he HP of aliens aren't really balanced.
The build he use is from december or earlier, since than the developer have 2 months time to balance the game until release.
I think we must wait until release to see how balanced the game is.
>not making your early game troops dress like dumb grunts
ONE LAST TIME MY FRIENDS
INTO THE FRAY
>improved ammo occupies the same slot as grenades and medkits and shit
>nobody can take my infinite bag of ammo holding from me, I'll just carry it around with my new improved bag of ammo holding instead of replacing it with the better bullets for some reason
>Worse than people who give xenomorphs lips
I'm pretty guilty of that too.
We're going to get sick of talking about xcom 2 before it's even out..
I really wanted him to continue but I doubt he'll do it any time soon.
Who knows, maybe he'll get bored of playing the first 3 months over and over again and we might get another OGXCOM stream before XCOM 2s launch
>Beaglerush work together as balance tester for the ne game of the LW developers
>Nobody else than beaglerush can beat the game.
I wouldn't wonder, there are only 3 months ingame, so we already saw almost all, there is no balance at all (yet), so we don't know how it can be, but we must wait 1 month until we can play it.
I'm ok with this, i only want to know all the perks for all classes so we can discuss the best builds.
>MEC without a full face helmet
Hey guys I did a thing
I haven't seen something like this used in the OP before so...
J-Just thought you would like it
I was doing some clean up of my old external hard drives when I found these LDD files I made years ago, so enjoy anons. First up - Lego Archangel Armor.
>Have geared up squad
>Alien Cargo ship touched down
>Send them in
>First encounter with Sectopod
>MEC Squad lead gets cut off from the rest of team
>Kill most of the little guys in one turn
>Try to pull him back as his turn ends
>Learn Sectopods are always in overwatch
>Cry as Colonel "Crater" Baana, veteran of 41 mission with 113 confirmed kills dies in spectacular fashion
He and my other mec have been in the squad since the first mission. Why do the good always have to die?
Trying to fit details in at all is difficult considering the size of figs and the details you want to try and get in there - but lego Xcom is lego Xcom after all.
And oldstyle personal armor and laser rifle now . . .
