-Menu/Iron/Browserhax all work on the latest firmware again! DON'T DELAY in getting Homebrew.
-memchunkhax2 is a kernel11 exploit that allows downgrading to 9.2, and works on every firmware including 10.3.
-mch2 readiness test: https://gbatemp.net/entry/10938/ If you get DEADCAFE, you're eligible to downgrade.
>Is downgrading safe?
Things are going pretty well. Some bricks are simply people using the wrong firmware. Be sure you understand the risks.
-julian20 and TuxSH both have mch2 sysUpdater in its beta stages (listed in the 3DS Pastebin)
-New 3DS seems to struggle in even passing step 7, though eventually does work.
-Blank screen can be caused by Menuhax. Try pulling your SD card if you get it. Boot, reinsert, change theme.
-Apparently, the Wii U and 3DS use the same fucking keys... LOL

-Cobra Black Fin was announced. http://wololo.net/2015/12/07/cobra-black-fin-an-upcoming-dongle-to-play-ps-vita-isos/
-A Vita update got released, you might not want to update since it fixes the email exploit.
I've got everything:
>NNID & sysNAND
... how can I now launch .cia files for games?
>9.2.0-20U downgraded successfully
>browserhax won't work
Okay, so then nintendo can't force those on Rx10.3 or whatever emunand version to update? Should I disable wifi on my o3ds just to be safe or will the console update be like the game updates where they just nag but you can reject it?
Finally got the downgrade and CFW working but I've one problem.
I have smash on a cartridge and after performing all that, when I try to start it it says that the savedata is corrupted and will be reset.
I'm assuming this has to do with the folders inside the nintendo 3ds on the root of the sd card but, how do I get the 3DS to recognize it again?
Is there a way to restore the nand backup I performed earlier into emunand and update that, and then restore the long stringed folder in the nintendo 3ds folder so that I recognizes the save file again? (if so how do I restore the nand into emunand?)
I'm stuck /hbg/. I'll try to list what I've done so far:
- downgraded to 9.2 without a problem
- placed rxtools on the root of 3ds
- same with launcher.dat
- same with firmware.bin, slot0x25KeyX.bin, fbi_inject.app and fbi_inject.tmd
- booted up gateway
- "back up system nand"
- afterwards copied everything from my sd to the computer
- go back into gateway
- "format emunand"
- afterwards tried moving back the stuff to the sd card, but couldn't because it wouldn't fit
- put everything onto a bigger SD card instead, everything seems to be there and working
- placed fbi.cia on the root of the SD
- afterwards System Settings>Other Setting>Format System Memory with the SD out during that process
- do that
- everything is now fresh, all my stuff disappeared (which is normal I guess)
- I figure that my sysnand and emunand are unlinked but I don't know what that means
- open up rxTools
- Other Options>Install FBI over Health&Safety App
- >>127665315 (You) this happens
g-guys, I'm a dumdum I know
but what should I do?
Suggestion: /hbg/ works together to create a pastebin listing cryptofixed .cia's of every popular 3ds game so people don't have to spend many hours on trying to find the files by browsing through 3dsiso forums.
From my experience, if you change your theme on emunand it deletes menuhax too. I guess the only way to get a custom theme is installing it via Menuhax installer (Provided you booted HBL on emunand)
Initialize save data on browser, remember browser hax on 9.2 is sliderhax, so you gotta tap the little slider on the lower screen after going to the url to kick in
you can try smea DNS wich blocks Ninty's update server. But I really don't think nintendo can force an update
Why wouldn't you get the AC bundle? You can change the plates you faggot. And no you cannot install that.
Enjoy your hand strain.
>developed by Nintendo
>latest version isn't available because we aren't supposed to have it
>doesn't get updated
>can't be ran from the Homebrew Launcher
>white interface with blue and yellow selected items
>can delete extdata
>HIO, so you can install .cia files from your PC (only in the latest leaked version)
>can't select the destination you want to install to
>you can use the touch screen
>developed by Steveice with contributions from other people
>can be run in every form you want, including running it from the HBL
>black interface with white selected items
>easier layout, better SD card navigation, easier instructions on the top screen
>can use socketpunch to install .cia files from your PC
>press L and R to easily switch mode and destination
>can delete .cia files from your SD card after you have installed them
Oops, of course I posted this after the new thread was made.
Can someone help me out please? I have no idea what the issue might be because I installed everything correctly and it worked as intended once.
>- "format emunand"
>- afterwards tried moving back the stuff to the sd card, but couldn't because it wouldn't fit
>- put everything onto a bigger SD card instead, everything seems to be there and working
you need to format emunand on the bigger card, m8
emunand is a partition in your sd, if you change sd you need to format the partition again
that's why its no working
I've had CFW for quite a long time now, but I want to know where the fuck you get the code.bin for MSET. I've already downgraded it to 4.x, but that old chart guide says nothing about how to get it.
FUUUCK I GET STUCK ON KERNEL RACE
I'M MAD AS FUCK
>don't think nintendo can force an update
I'm just not sure if they'd ask if I want to update or try and automatically download it. I'll probably disable wifi for a while to be extra-safe since I don't feel like having to resetup emunand/rxtools/coldboot if it fucks it all up.
Okay I can't help you with that part, but I can help you with the MHX part that follows.
Don't install a pre-patched CIA. Get an unpatched CIA.
Get the NTR from: https://github.com/44670/BootNTR/releases/tag/3.2
You can download the .zip and the .cia
The .zip has a .bin file you put into the root of your SD card. You install the .cia as normal from FBI.
Then get the MHX patch itself from: https://gbatemp.net/threads/wip-mhx-translation-patch-eng.403613/
When you boot into emunand using your CFW of choice, you can then boot up NTR on top of it.
Doing it this way means you can update your english translation on the fly without having to reinstall pre-patched .CIA's. You can also take screenshots and stuff, so that's cool too.
WHY ARE THERE TOO MANY DIFFERENT GUIDES
WHY ARE PEOPLE RECOMMENDING CAKE OR RXTOOL BIGBLUEMENU/FBI WHATEVER
YOU GUYS MAKING ME INSECURE
Real simple actually, you just need to generate the .3ds file's ncchinfo.bin and drag that to your SD root. Be sure there's a folder called Decrypt9 on your root as well. Run the first option in Decrypt9's xorpad menu, and check that folder after for hot fresh xorpads.
Are you sure?
How do you know that?
This is important.
I'm on rx+emunand 9.5
I will be able to play normal .cia's that don't explicitly mention they are cryptofixed without issue? Even online?
What does cryptofixed mean exactly? Can Simple CIA Converter do it? (Is it 'firmware spoof'?)
Mostly isn't one, other than you should look and feel like an idiot doing it.
>just finished my second CFW 3DS
Who /CFWmasterrace/ here?
>i only realized this existed because i decided to enter the /ekx/ threads for the first time in a while on /vp/ just before the downgrader came out
Wait, why is rxTools considered shit? I haven't had any issues aside from my stupidity when first setting it up? it seems to run fine and do what it's supposed to providing you either use 2.6 or nightly builds.
NO INSTALL CRYPTOFIXED CIAS AND CRYPTOFIXED CIA UPDATES OR YOU WILL JUST GET THE 3DS LOADING SCREEN LOOP
I just dealt with this shit for literally 10 hours and I finally figured it out. Learn from my idiocy.
He's technically right, theyre "fixed" but if you don't get the cryptofixed you will boot loop and won't be able to launch the game. I spent a lot of time figuring this out. YOU NEED BOTH CRYPTOFIXED CIA GAME AND UPDATES. I installed a normal update and the game wouldn't launch. 3DSISO has cryptofixed updates go there.
Wait when you guys keep trying you don't mean when it freezes right?
I got it right the first time so I don't know what to do.
Fuck man, I should never have offered to downgrade my friend's 3ds.
I just completed Complete EmuNAND Setup and renamed the Homebrew Menu's boot.3dsx to HBL8.3dsx and drop CTRBootManager's boot.3dsx into SD card root. Upon booting I get that error, what I did wrong?
Well then do you know where I am meant to find all the games cryptofixed?
Apparently 99% of the threads on 3dsiso only have them normal.
EU of possible but I guess it doesn't matter
I still need
>Etrian Odyssey 2 Fafnir
>Zelda link to the past
>kirby triple deluxe
>Go to up date from 8 1 to 9 2
>Go through aII steps
>Get aII fiIes
>Start up system
>Start up R X TooIs v 2 6
>"Go to dev mode or pasta mode"
Neither one is in the menu
What? lt's not in emu nand, just a reguIar boot but these aren't in the menu.
Where wouId the advanced and dev mode options be in R X TooIs 2 6?
But I don't know which ones those are and I actually don't even know what cryptofixing does, how you do it or fuck anything
I just want to play video games man. And be able to play online in MHX.
is there any way to play gba vc games with unlinked nands? rxtools gives me black screen
Guys is there another way to inject .cia files other than injecting FBI into the health and safety app?
I'd like to install some GBA games to sysnand so I can play them in emunand. I set up autoboot and unlinked nands, everything works fine on emunand, but my health and safety app got deleted after I unlinked the nands somehow.
TLDR.: missing health and safety app in sysnand
Help greatly appreciated.
also another question:
If I boot into homebrew launcher using crbooter or whatever, how do I know where homebrew channel is installed? Is it emu or sysnand?
If it's sysnand maybe I could inject my cias from some kind of cia manager from there? Would that work?
Just finished the entire process and now just going up to 9 2.
What is a safe way of getting R X TooIs from 2 6 to 3 0 then?
Are there common issues faced with changing R X TooIs? Used 2 6 for very step of the process.
This is what I got when I tried to do the autobooting tutorial. It went into CTRBootManager, then started rxTools and then it went to that.
After that I just got back to using the browser thing.
because there's so many different ways to do this shit and nobody wants to learn about how shit works which is why I'm praying for 10.4 to come out quickly
basically: normies get out of my thread. reeeeeee.
NEED HELP! I reinstalled the cia with BigBlueMenu and the problem stilt persists. I notice whenever I open up home menu, the icon box tries to show up but disappears instantly (no game icon).
I'm really sorry to be a normie...
Did I mess up?
I downgraded, backed up all of the files on my sd card, installed an emunand which formated my card.
Then I placed these folders back onto my card
But none of my saves or installed games show up on my system. Was I supposed to use the built-in backup tool in System Settings? Or did I miss a folder?
Any developer news on progress on more stable/better versions of the tools? I'm a waitfag currently and was planning to get everything done on friday or saturday but if there's no real progress then I'll just do it now. (From the sounds of it I'll only have to worry about maybe softbrick and having to try a bunch of times (n3ds-xl) right now anyway.)
OP here. The "RETARDS GUIDE TO DOWNGRADING" now reflects the advantage of julian20's build and has working links.
So I've downgraded and put FBI on my emuNAND, now I've got a couple of (stupid) questions?
Where's that guide to autoboot into my emuNAND?
Is there any reason to unlink my emuNAND from my sysNAND?
And finally, to update my emuNAND, is the process the same as updating a regular 3DS, just doing it through the emuNAND?
Just downgraded my N3DS to 9.2. I just noticed menuhax isn't working anymore--I'm assuming that's normal.
Is there anything I should know about the pastebin guide for rxTools ( http://pastebin.com/WVszD3Tm ) before I start, or is this pretty much foolproof?
Was wondering if I bought a Sky3DS flash cart, would I need to buy a second flash cart for any DS games I want to play, or can I do both in one? Once I get it, how can I 'burn' games to it?
Also, would there be any issues in importing one to Canada?
Picture not related to questions.
ls there a guide to safeIy up date R X TooIs?
Do you need any of the previous fiIes from the oId foIder in version 2 6 if you're going up to 3 0?
Or can you just use the new foIder from 3 0?
I just completed Complete EmuNAND Setup and renamed the Homebrew Menu's boot.3dsx to HBL8.3dsx and drop CTRBootManager's boot.3dsx into SD card root. firmware.bin is in /rxTools/sys/ and I still get that upon booting. What I did wrong?
I have a old ass 3ds with 6.4 firmware and want to upgrade to 9.2
I assume I can just follow this guide to manually update to 9.2 and be good right?
Everything for downgrading you could ever want will be found here:
>Where's that guide to autoboot into my emuNAND?
I followed this from the OP, but it didn't work. Might as well try it though, there's a chance I'm retarded:
Is 32gb good enough for n3ds downgrading and the works, or should I order a 64/128 and wait? afaik, you can format 32+ to still work with 3ds, and I heard it's hard to transfer after setting up an emunand
There is something I am curious about. I hear that when you install cias with linked nands you always have to unwrap the game to play it everytime you boot out of cfw. I never unlinked my nands and don't have the unwrap thing. So is it just a bug with some people?
My 3DS is on 9.9.0-26U and apparently the exploit I was using previously, tubehax, no longer works. I'm trying to install menuhax but everytime I open the browser it just asks me to update (and if I use that other DNS it just says the browser can't be used right now).
What do I do?
>downgraded to 9.2 on O3DS
>put launcher.dat in SD root to attempt to set up emunand
>go to go.gateway-3ds.com
>stuck on 'Gateway 3DS Loading....'
>tried both beta and current launcher.dats
I don't know what else to do.
>sysupdate with browserhax freezes and doesn't really work
>sysupdate with menuhax works asap, no trouble, and is suddenly an angel
I am still looking for the following to play on my rx+emunand 9.5 N3DSXL from Europe
>Kirby Triple Deluxe
>Zelda A Link Between Worlds
>Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight
If you or anyone could help me find these, cryptofixed apparently since I need that for my n3ds, that'd be great
I've change location as you said (had to create /firm manually). The same error still occurs
Guys would I be able to run Yokai-Watch US on a EU 3ds?
here's the video
If you look, there are titles that are centered in the text which read "OLD 3DS", "NEW 3DS", and "DSI".
You use the files listed in the OLD 3DS section for an Old 3DS, the files under NEW 3DS on a New 3ds, and I'm assuming the DSI is for a DSI. This means to ignore these unless you want to downgrade a DSi for some reason.
Can you tell me, in simple words for an idiot like me, what cryptofixing is, anyway?
Is it required only on N3DS(XL) to play games that require a firmware of 9.5 or higher, even if you are on 9.5 emunand?
This guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-setting-up-9-0-9-2-n3ds-xl-for-rxtools-cfw-including-emunand-coldboot-cia-manager.405589/
Or one of the ones from the OP?
With that first one are there any points where I should grab a different tool instead of the ones recommended?
If you downloaded the starter kit menuhax should be available to install right away so once you launch homebrew scroll down and install it.
I feel so fucking silly now because it worked ASAP.
God damn it, how does this shit even work
Still looking for an answer for these questions, specifically, about the second flash cart.
Well shit! I'm re-rendering right now.
Because you didn't put them in the oven!
I want to hug those maids
delete cookies and history
buy one in www.unbrickn3ds.com pick related
browserhax is shit
People hate bigblue
use that one and follow it to the t downloads included
Do you have enough space in your sd? you need the same space of the cia free
I need to know this as well.
Specifically, I own Animal Crossing New Leaf and Pokemon Y that I bought off the eShop ages ago. I have the save data in a backup folder. If I download the CIAs of these games will I be able to use my backed up saves? I understand Pokemon and AC have some kind of wizardry that is supposed to prevent people from hacking save files. All I want to do is restore my old saves. The restore backup data feature doesn't work.
I assume the MHX I downloaded some days ago with the 1.1 patch is cryptofixed, since according to http://3dsdb.com/ it requires 9.9
So I can just download and play the other games from normal .cia's then, that's great.
You wouldn't happen to have a CF Yokai Watch .cia right?
>I don't know, but I'd recommend using Julian's latest one.
I originally started with that one and got a few softbrick results so I figured I'd try tuxSH's since I have an O3DS.
But I was under the impression the steps 1-8 display was still in the tuxSH one so I got a little confused when I switched over.
Why was part
In the guide changed today?
What happend and why is bIue being recommended now?
Did something happen over night?
I've tried putting firmware.bin in both /sys and /firm and in both I get that >>127681931 error fucking messsage. I've downloaded firmware according to https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-more-or-less-catch-all-tutorial.407080/
What the fuck I'm doing wrong, I would blow someone for fix
I'm getting an error booting NTR inside of my emunand, says current firmware not supported when I'm pretty sure I played the fire emblem patch with it just 2 days ago, I even got the updated .bin, what could have happened?
So I have pretty much everything set up including automatic boot of rxTools, but I still can´t install games via the FBI app. Is it because it is an old version of FBI (I first used rxTools 2.6 and injected FBI and updated to 3.0 later) and if so, how can I update FBI?
So i ran system update in emunand because the tutorial said so, and now when i launch the emunand i get a hard lock 'problem has occurred error'. When i boot from the sysnand everything is fine. what can i do?
Because at least 90% of the people doing this are literal children. The 10% remaining are able to read and follow instructions, and do not need to comment or ask for help because everything works like the hundreds of guides said it would.
Are you sure? cause the out of resource error is because of that try installing another game and see if ti works if it does try another cia
kek yeah FPS are shit in that one and God of War it's mostly a weeabo machine and no piracy as of yet
the one in the op is alright
The legend of the dark witch is not Dsiware which is what you were installing when you get the error
So after I downgraded to 9.2 I reinstalled menuhax and it just won't work anymore. I tried 2.1 and 2.0 and all the type options, all I get is this screen until I let go of the button then get an error at the home menu.
Haven't seen this exact problem yet, any idea what is happening? It's in some guides but can I skip the menuhax step? Would suck to rely on browserhax though.
It's gonna take some time (20+ mins tops)
Also, it may be kind hard for some people if they don't know how to boot into hbl.
So, why is it that the N3DS emunand can only be upgraded to 9.5? Is there anything you lose out on by not being on 10.3?
Fuck off if you're not gonna help.
Fuck you too.
I can sue you too if I wanted to. I have one of the best lawyers in the state of Louisiana. I can have your life turned upside down with a single phone call.
Oh shit man, great folder.
That yokai watch one is 100% cryptofixed? Awesome
What would happen if I were to ever install a not-CF .cia that would require it, by the way? Would it completely fuck up my shit or is it more of a "just uninstall it again/remove it" case?
You might as well make it a little longer so we can make it a copypasta like the navy seals one or something.
By the way, if anyone was to sue them, it would be Nintendo, and even if you sue them, do you realize you were trying to do illegal stuff too to begin with?
>finally launched rxtools and got to emunand
HHHHHHNNNG IM CUMMIING HNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHG
>Install FBI to sysNAND
>Launch RxTool's sysNAND (NOT DEVMODE)
>Install GBA games to SD
>Launch RxTools again but go to emuNAND
>Go to emuNAND's FBI
>Install GBA games to SD like before
>Quit FBI and play GBA game of your choice
there wouldn't happen to be any tool that could sign .cias manually, would there?
Is there an undubbed tales of abyss but with english text?
>Fuck off if you're not gonna help.
There's nothing to help you with. The only way you could save your 3DS would be if you backed up your NAND before trying to downgrade by using an hardmod, but we wouldn't help you with that as the restoring process is literally the same as the backing up one, so if you had a backup you would already know what to do.
Thanks Anons for everyone that helped me, my little brother loves his 3ds with the games :) He's playing Yokai right now
You can fit all of them can't you?
You didn't brick it just install it in sd card instead
use savedata filer in sysnand then use the same program to import them in emunand
SK2 needs 9.7
they'll work but better uninstall it and install it on SD
It's a cute game
You need 3.0
Just as bad as 2.6, if you manage to set it up properly, and you don't use it for anything else other than rxMode (use decrypt9 for the other stuff)
Some guy said "HEY IF YOU OPEN ANOTHER HOMEBREW AND THEN EXIT IT INSTANTLY BEFORE TRYING TO DOWNGRADE YOU GET MORE CHANES TO SUCCEEED" and people did it
there's no proof that it works
>9)take the boot.cfg and boot.3dsx from ctrbootmanager and put it on root
>10)turn on system
>congrats! now emuNAND autoboots. it can take like 20-30 seconds from start up to load.
NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENS FOR FUCKS SAKE
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG
Can someone upload to MEGA working firmware.bin for O3DS with 9.2.0-20E please? I can't get rxTools working on my, got error >>127681931
Question, I heard about NTR plugins, is it just the language one or are there more, neat ones?
>>can't select the destination you want to install to
To be fair, that's not super necessary because it can tell the difference between the NAND CIAs and the SD CIAs.
What games does your brother like?
LayeredFS is pretty cool. You basically use it to load mods. I heard someone modified the screenshot plugin to record gifs, but they don't want to release it.
I am one of your lawyers and I'm suing you right now.
'BOUT TO BUY 90 3DS AND DOWNGRADE INRONT OF YOU BITCH
So downgraded and couldn't access HBL because browserhax just refuses to work. Do I need Homebrew to even get emuNAND, and CFWs? Can't I just install emuNAND and rxTools through the gateway launcher?
Is there anyway to set it up so I can decrypt .3ds roms without my 3DS? I have a hacked one if I need to get shit from it.
I thought this was possible, but I can't find any info on it now.
Your NAND is your 'system' crap.
Which is like, installed games and updates and whatnot.
SysNand is what your 3DS is 'actually' running, EmuNand is a Emulated NAND, not sure how it works, but it allows your 3DS to make changes to the NAND without it 'actually' changing the NAND.
With that knowledge, unlinking them allows you to do shit like update the EmuNand but it won't affect your 'actual' system (SysNand).
Likewise for things like games. So you'd have games installed on one that won't show up on the other.
It's useful if you want to update your 3DS (Use EmuNand), but want to keep your actual console a older, easier-to-tinker version.
Also it allows you to try different things without actually breaking anything (Usually) as you have your older version to fall back on.
Did you rename your original boot.3dsx to boot_hb.3dsx? You should have boot_hb.3dsx, boot.3dsx and boot.cfg. I think you replaced your original boot.3dsx with CTRManager's.
Makes your saves stop failing from time time.
I played both.
They're better if you played the original trilogy on DS but also have their own standalone plot.
They introduce very little, in my opinion, to the series so if you liked it for what it was it still has that charm.
LayeredFS, eh? Got it, I'll remember that. Anything else? Like, maybe a way to have the screenshots catch the top and bottom screen together, instead of separate files?
I'm too lazy to put them together manually.
Okay I installed FBI for the first time
Is it normal that it gives me fuckton of errors trying to install a cia?
I just want to play MH4 ;_;
trying to install rxTools on a new3ds using 3.0 nightlies, already set up ctrbootmanager but rxTools don't go past errors loading NATIVE_FIRM 4 or 5
firmware.bin in sys folder
0004013820000002.bin in data folder
0004013820000002.bin in firm folder
and have tried several firmware/0004013820000002.bins, what is the md5 of the one that werks or what im doing wrong here?
It's done now, and should work in the land of the free!
It's not a really good video so if you get stuck read the pastebin in the video description.
Yeah I don't know how it works for carts but I'm assuming it's as simple as putting in the cartridge.
>Okay I installed FBI for the first time
>Is it normal that it gives me fuckton of errors trying to install a cia?
>I just want to play MH4 ;_;
Trying the sliderhax and tried initializing savedata everytime and touched every possible corner each time and it gives me the "Back up save data" message or something along those lines.
Thanks man, this should be useful once I figure out how it works.
Download the newest FBI
Install the new FBI.Cia with the old FBI (unless it won't work in general, in which case try reinstalling fbi with rxtools.)
After the new Fbi.cia is installed, you get an updated fbi application on your home menu.
I've readed and gone according to tutorial on GBATemp: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-more-or-less-catch-all-tutorial.407080/
I've downloaded firmware.bin via batch file and I still can't launch it, no idea why. I may be mentally retarded, but I cannot find anything more about that.
>all these plebes wasting their time and risking bricking their 3ds
>mfw I have a 3ds XL on 4.2
do the trick where you create empty "title.db" and "import.db" files in "/Nintendo 3DS/<id0>/<id1>/dbs/" on your SD card, open SD app management in System Settings, and let it repair the files.
JUST DO IT!
I don't have the cartridge, I'm pirating the games
Format : CIA
Region : Region Free
Original Region : USA
Firmware Spoofed : Yes
Can I simply install the cia and run the game or do I need another program to run this on a EU 3ds?
Yeah just install it like normal.
>Updates unstalled. Rebooting in 10 seconds
Install and run like you would any other game anon
-I've heard that emulators run better on cfw. How much better? Like, flawless SNES emulation if I install the retroarch cia?
-Is there a way to transfer files to the 3ds microsd wirelessly? I'm not stupid enough to transfer full game cia files that way, but small homebrew files and emulator roms.
-I heard something about CHMM2 screwing up your nands?
I'm an idiot, please help me. When I do the MSET thing, do I overwrite the rxTools folder with the rxTools Cakehax 2.6c? Because I downgraded MSET, executed code.bin but when try to use the Nintendo DS profile to load rxTools, it doesn't work.
>Get to red text
>Keeps crashing when I press Y
>20 times later I get a "CIA'S NOT FOUND FUCKER" error
>Updates was Read Only
>Remove Read Only status from the updates
>Crashes three times as often, haven't gotten to red text, browserhax doesn't work anymore and menuhax doesn't work 50% of the time
what the shit.
Shit's unstable as fuck on the N3DS, you're lucky if you manage to have the thing even tell you there's an error.
Just installed MHX v7 english patched. The game said it had an update. I'm on a N3DS, yesterday I updated and fucked up menuhax. Does this mean I can't play MHX online?
Btw, I appreciate all the anons that have helped me, others, and continue to do so.
>be sure to setup browserhax on 9.2.0
What did he mean by this
n3ds is taking more time just keep trying
no try another version of FBI a lot of anons seem to have problem with the newest i think 1.4.14 works just fine
google play coin setter
Got a couple quick questions. On a n3ds xl and emunand 9.2.
I tried triforce Heroes and got the endless 3ds splash. But shovel knight worked. Bad cia maybe?
Is there a guide on getting the translated fire emblem fates working?
Im sysNAND 9.2 emuNAND 10.3 unlinked with rxtools CFW. Easy questions anon:
>Can I play Zelda Tri Force Heroes.cia online/local with my friends without problems?
>If some day, emuNAND/CIA games want to update to play online, what should i do?
>What is NTR?
>What is NNID?
tits for help
Try any of them or ask around /v/ I think there's more than one game
They're included in the American version. They're just there, as unused content. You literally just swap the file and you get everything translated properly, except French and German Pokémon names.
I still don't get why we have to wait three months.
Fucking finally, did the "dot_clean" thing another anon told me to do since I was using a mac for file transfers and it's finally begun. Now to figure out the other half
try this http://gbatemp.net/threads/wip-pchex-pchex-with-its-own-gui.405302/ or go to vp's injection general for more info
I don't see why not
2 If same region try updating with Y if it doesn't work donwload update cias
3 plugins for CFW
4 Nintendo Network ID
Asking again because no answer:
Is DS roms possible to be loaded onto a 3DS?
If so, how do?
I thought I read somewhere that you could, but google isn't giving me anything.
o3DS Sys=9.4, Emu=10.3
Pretty image to grab your attention.
I read that it doesn't break the translation if you install the patch after but in doubt, install it first anyway. And I wanna say console version doesn't matter for online, only game version.
Yes as long as you download the cia for YOUR region
Check 3DSISO for CIA updates
Anti-Piracy CFW that can run on top of CFW for screenshots
Nintendo Network ID that stores games, DLC, updates you've downloaded before
Okay but how do I install bbm?
Ill give you the source when you spoonfeed me
Do I have to dump my NAND again if I Format Syetem Memory while my micro SD card was inserted?
I went ahead and did another Complete EmuNAND Setup to be on the safe side.
The guide i'm following unfortunately told me to "take out your micro SD before performing a system format" after it told me to perform a system format.
I deleted the Smash patch and DLC data from system settings then installed the patch and the new DLC via .cias and still doesn't work. I just keep having my old legit DLC
Anything I missed?
Oh, wait, I'm sorry, the names seem to be translated too.
Nope. You download the .cia, install it and then download the .zip on the wiki, and follow the instructions. It's an NTR LayeredFS plugin and it also includes the translation files. Just follow the instructions and you should get it to work.
It's mostly people fucking up, but some people were legitimately unlucky and got their console bricked for no reason.
I got them from here:
I'll spoonfeed you but only this once, homo.
DS games cannot be loaded from CIA or 3DS files. I have heard of Japan getting the DS Advance Wars as a downloadable title from their Club Nintendo
However you can run DS Carts from your CFW
Successfully downgraded, first try once I got red text. Used Julians latest sysUpdate, WiFi on, followed the pastebin for smarts.
FUCK YES, finally got GBA working on rxtools.
Anyone here been around long enough to remember what happened post-Wood-R4 1.39 firmware?
Something after that made the Wood R4 crash like fuck
I can't remember why but I remember hearing that 1.39 was the last good DS CFW
Try launching the flashcart from SysNAND since that one is downgraded.
There's a newer translation version, V8. There's an official update to MHX now, 1.1. Find it through the usual channels. Do that and see if you can go online. No one seems to know for sure.
(also to answer your question downgrading to 9.0 instead of 9.2 is fine)
Cakes but you can also install both!
yes you can
nope it's still worth it
you have to use 3.0. 3.0 is fine but I'd recommend Cakes
yes there's a high failure-to-start-downgrading rate
nope that test doesn't matter anymore, you can skip to the downgrading
yes if you have rxtools or if you run NTR on top of your CFW
took me like 3-5 tries for an O3DS and hundreds for an N3DS
similar process to downgrading, you get sysupdater and a 9.5 update pack and run it from emunand
>I've heard that emulators run better on cfw. How much better? Like, flawless SNES emulation if I install the retroarch cia?
I've heard it's pretty good, but I haven't done it firsthand so I can't promise it's flawless.
>transfer files to the 3ds microsd wirelessly
Yeah there are several FTP apps both for the homebrew launcher and as installable .cia files.
Try Julian's latest sysupdater if you're not already using it. There's a link in my guide.
Kind of. You can also try to change the region of your emunand if you plan on doing this often. https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-change-emunand-region.392099/
You can also just get .cia updates, though.
That's one option, but you'd probably rather use bootntr. There's info in my guide near the bottom.
to add to the NTR answer, it also allows region-free and is the only way to play with DLC from other regions I believe
Yes. There's info in my guide if you get stuck.
I just wrote a new guide/faq and posted it in the dead thread. Here it is again.
It is possible as long as you're not using the DS Profile Exploit in which you'd have to install MSET all over again.
Anyone else here spent more time downloading games, copying them to SD, and installing CIAs so far instead of actually playing games?
Don't even get me started on game updates and DLC.
so an important question
WILL WE be able to pirate future 3ds games too, as long as we don't update?
I couldn't fix this. I'm tempted to remove my emunand, format my card, and put everything back and see if that fixes it.
I think I give up with this whole CFW thing. I'm not even a poorfag, I just wanted better emulators and MHX early.
>to add to the NTR answer, it also allows region-free and is the only way to play with DLC from other regions I believe
If some day i want to install NTR on rxTools...how can i install it? Its easy?
I'm just wondering, is there a homebrew launcher.cia? With my current setup I can get to it when I boot up my console but I just think it'd be handier having an icon to press instead of rebooting/browserhaxing/whatever.
Following a tutorial, opened pastacfw, it's did the little colours and now it's sitting at a black screen. Should I let it sit for a few minutes or has it just crashed and I need to retry?
Installed FBI on rxtools sysNAND, boot into rxtools sysNAND, launch FBI H&S, install the GBA CIA on both NAND and SD, reboot back into emuNAND, launch FBI H&S app, install the GBA CIA to emuNAND and you should be able to launch it without error message.
As for how it runs everything is natively, no sound bugs or anything. Image is kinda blurry but probably because I am on XL.
So after doing the tinyformat thing on emunand and trying a few games and such I wanted to do it instead on sysnand, so I could keep my NNID and all of my legit shit on my emunand while unlinked.
So I went there, did the whole fucking process of saving my files, formatting emunand again and putting files back in there. As soon as I install tinyformat, it says it already exists, so I open it up and it tells me to press Y to start, but doesn't actually let me choose. It formats emuNAND again.
Now, how would I do this the proper way?
Hell let's take it even further. How would I go around just plain having the console the same way it was right after I downgraded it?
Yes. Although it wouldn't surprise me if devs catch on and start throwing in tricky anti-piracy code within their games. It happened back in the DS era when R4 carts were popular. Some games were completely unplayable unless they were patched, which took sometimes months to come out.
