Hey someone just sent me a pretty much brand new (he played it once and you can tell just by looking at it that it's true) Pink 3DS for 60 bucks.

Got it because the casing for it shows no color so no one can see it anyway. Got a few Q's about this.

If you use juilian it uninstalls and installs each cia at a time. The worst that can happen is a soft brick (I wouldn't even call it a brick) you just system restore, update, and its like nothing ever happened.

The only way you can brick is if you download the wrong firmware. I don't think that problem will ever be unavoidable. Just be very, very careful.

3. Backup the content of your SD card.
4. Format emuNAND.
5. Recover your SD card content and boot rxTools in emuNAND.
6. Update to 10.3.0-28X and boot into emuNAND again.
7. Go to system settings and to NNID at the top; follow instructions.
8. Boot emuNAND and start the eShop; simply restart the 3DS if it keeps looping after the password input.
9. Once in the eShop, close it and shut down.
10. Recover your whole SD card once more. *
11. Inject emuNAND backup.
12. Inject all emuNAND file backups.
13. Start the eShop in emuNAND and it should refresh your software.
14. And now you should have emuNAND eShop access without any loss of StreetPass/Save/Friend/etc. data.

There's something I don't understand.

That is how to update emunand from 9.2 to 9.5

So to start off assume I'm on 9.2, rxtools, emunand, fbi, homebrew yada yada all installed and ready.

I also still have my "updates" folder on the SD card from when I downgraded.

So, now I want to upgrade my emunand from 9.2 to 9.5

So I download the 9.5 files, put them in a "updates" folder on the sd root and remove the older updates folder.

Now how do I get into emunand?
If I boot up I get the choice between rxtools and homebrew, but rxtools now no longer has "boot rxtools + emunand" for me. So I will forever be in sysnand.

I don't get it.

There is a "bug" that can be fixed.
1. Backup your emuNAND.
2. Backup all emuNAND files (ticket.db etc.) with rxTools.
3. Backup the content of your SD card.
4. Format emuNAND.
5. Recover your SD card content and boot rxTools in emuNAND.
6. Update to 10.3.0-28X and boot into emuNAND again.
7. Go to system settings and to NNID at the top; follow instructions.
8. Boot emuNAND and start the eShop; simply restart the 3DS if it keeps looping after the password input.
9. Once in the eShop, close it and shut down.
10. Recover your whole SD card once more. *
11. Inject emuNAND backup.
12. Inject all emuNAND file backups.
13. Start the eShop in emuNAND and it should refresh your software.
14. And now you should have emuNAND eShop access without any loss of StreetPass/Save/Friend/etc. data.

How do I update the Health & Safety injected FBI? I placed the 1.4.17 cia on the root as it says https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/ and rerun the Install FBI option but it's still the 1.3.8 version.

rxtools.3dsx in 2.6 doesn't work. Anyone got one that does?

I made a, seemingly better, starter pack.

It should have everything required point-to-point to get up and running from scratch (pre-downgrade) to rxTools (excluding the firmware files). I also took the liberty of rewriting the firmware .bat file to be more streamlined.

I wrote a pretty thorough readme for the entire process, but some wording is either vague or nonexistent so fleshing out those would be nice. For instance, I could drop the hint at rxTools 2.6 since this pack provides 3.0.

Also, it works during any part of the process so if you just downgraded and don't know what to do next you could follow along perfectly by starting to set up rxTools.

I'm all downgraded, unlined nands, rxtools is running fine, fbi installs cias fine. Only thing is that all my old downloaded games don't show up on emunand. I can only see them in sysnand. Downgraded successfully, unlinked sysnand & emunand, but when I'm running on emunand everything is really slow and choppy (sounds are choppy in the home menu and it takes like 30 seconds to even get to the system settings). Is it just my old-ass microSD card, or could it be due to the fact that I'm using a microSD card with an SD card adapter?
