Same guy here. Something just caught my eye. It looks like he is using wooden beams in his house, but he has furniture and platforms in front of them. What is he actually using there?
Building server. Mob spawns are disabled. You can join with your single player character and bring items into the server. When joining the server for the first time, execute the following commands in the chat: "/register [password]" and then "/login [password]". Replace [password] with whatever password you want.
>get back from some marble and granite farming
>craft the Goblintech
>start building with some marble
>exit and save
>Goblintech still there
>not the marble or granite, neither placed nor in inventory
er, you equip the voodoo doll which allows you to hurt the Clothier using weaponry. according to the wiki, when he dies Skeletron is summoned; i'm just curious whether it's immediate (thus fucking up my NPC house) or waits until nightfall like the regular boss fights
I told you nothing would happen. I am waiting for nightfall to see if skeletron spawns, but I don't think he will.
If I don't reply back, he hasn't spawned.
I'm thinking of making the top of the Great Glass Terrarium into a minecart rail terminus
So I've been trying like hell to kill the Destroyer. I built a large wooden platform complex covered in heart lanterns, stars in bottles, and campfires.
I have a shotgun loaded with explosive shots and full titanium armor (ranged head). I have a ranger emblem and wings.
But I can't survive the laser overload long enough to get him down to even half.
It's been ages since I played this game and my old saves are gone but I know I managed to have the Golem on farm at one point so I've definitely done this before.
I almost feel like i'm the only not not hyped at all about this, and i don't know why..
I'll probably get it, and i might change my opinion once we've seen more, but fuck.
Also, i fucking hate that artstyle for some reason. I prefer the simplicity of Terraria
Crimson vs Corruption
Which do you prefer and why?
Michigan, what the fuck are you doing? You do realize you can type the name of the thing you want instead of using its ID, right?
/i dirt block
/i platinum coin
Is the upper middle thing supposed to be a window? Or two windows? I'm kind of bothered by that central beam going through. Otherwise pretty nice, the blocks below the stairs are interesting, haven't seen it made that way before, maybe you could paint them slightly lighter?
it's supposed to be two windows, and yeah, I think it could look better; there's just not much space up there. I painted the stair blocks orange to match the boreal wood, but maybe i could try bright orange
>it's supposed to be two windows, and yeah, I think it could look better; there
Maybe just put the horizontal "beam" over the vertical one and somehow disconnect the vertical one from the top of the window or something.
It just looks like a massive beam going through everything from top to bottom, with no space for the wall between the windows and it.
Or maybe just remove the beam altogether and make another kind of a single window.
Making a house for my Party Girl, any reason why I can't assign the house on the left to anyone?
I assumed it was because the thing was underground and completely blocked off from any open surface, so I opened up the upper room and gave it a door any I still can't assign anyone to it.
In both cases, the in-game house query tool is saying that it's a suitable house.
If a House is located near Corruption or Crimson, it may become uninhabitable. If these spread near an occupied House, the NPC living there may move out and wander the area until a new House becomes available.
A House is considered corrupted based on its "Corruption/Crimson rating," which calculates all tiles in a 45-block "radius" around the house; a house's Corruption/Crimson rating must be 250 or less. This is about half the blocks in the radius.
Each tile of Ebonstone/Crimstone, Ebonsand/Crimsand, and Corrupted/Crimson vines/plants increases a House's Corruption/Crimson rating by 1.
Each tile of Hallowed grass, Pearlsand, and Hallowed vines/plants reduces the rating by 1.
Each Sunflower reduces a House's Corruption Rating by 5.
Oh what the hell. That must have been it. Now I'm upset because earlier the query tool was telling me specifically that the corruption rating was too high. So I did the whole process to get blue solution and painted everything nearby with blue solution.
It stopped telling me corruption was too high for housing, so that's when I came here asking for advice.
I was thinking no wait, I specifically painted everything hollow exactly for that earlier reason. I went back out and painted an even bigger swathe just to make a big show of it, and when I came back it let me assign her the house.
Well thanks for making me double check the corruption. I'm just annoyed that the query tool wasn't accurate.
How to make more comfy houses? This is probably the best looking house I've ever made
>Decided to try the 3ds version
>mfw they're charging $20 for this garbage
Currently looking for a way to expand the marble-tower (my rooms) maybe i'll put the wizards library in there too.
Also, does anyone know how to beat skeletron on Expert?
I was thinking about getting Yoyo counterweights, but the best I have is the Amazon.
Also found a Scythe-spell, which is goot on Skeletron if it's still standing still in the air.
I've built a bunch of long platforms above the dungeon entrance to fight him
Is there such a thing as comfy/good looking commie blocks?
Yeah, just that chest stuck underground that bothers me though.
I farmed these cunts for so long!
Dont get the phoenix blaster, get something that can penetrate or hit several enemies at once.
>a strong bow with jester and hellfire arrows
>the minishark with meteorite shot
>demon scythe or medusa head
>the star cannon (although it is outdone by the first)
What the hell is happening? We shouldn't get to page 10 so fast.
One of the three things I put in an old desert of mine, including pic related and >>127575024
any particular reason why the guide doesn't go up the 2nd floor after I assign that room as his house?
he just runs back and forth instead.
Whatsd a good way to defeat expert Skeletron?
I tried using the Scythe-spell but the fucker wont stay still long enough to get meaningfull hits off. Alos mana
I tried Minishark, but that one only does 1 dmg per shot so I'll need almost 10 Stacks of bullets
I tried spraying spikey balls everywhere, but they expire too fast
and of course the hands always get me when I least expect it.
Wearing full molten armor
I am probably closer to defeating the WoF than Skeletron.
When you're beating them for the very first time, especially in expert mode, you're going to feel pretty understaffed. Frankly half of it is building a good arena if that's what you're going for.
Gravitation potions let you dodge pretty much everything. If you still can't beat them after that, go fight some Hallowed Mimics for a Daedalus Stormbow and get some Holy Arrows.
>tfw likely to move out of commie block soon
I just wish You the same, oddly enough I do not really mind living in one, but the circumistances after so many years seem to have changed things.
Don't you die on me, /tg/..
Where do i get good Terraria art?
HELP my game keep crashing on PC.
It just crashes to desktop and Steam freezes up as well. Steam needs to be closed via Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
My items in my inventory keep getting resetted but the ones in chests dont.
take ~4000 wood arrows to a crystal ball and you can craft a endless quiver. It allows for you to fire infinite wood arrows. I recommend crafting them, but buying them only costs 2 gold total.
I really tried fighting queen bee, but she keeps killing me, Only managed to kill her barely the first time around.
I feel like a massive idiot.
I wanna go back to sucking my thumb in Normal Mode
So how should I improve this? I feel that is a bit lacking, it's an Ice Box house.
What does your arena look like?
When my brother and I fought him we kind of just cheesed him because the skulls can't penetrate terrain. The bottom rung of our arena just had dirt shelters on either side. So after we kill the hands all he could do was spin at us, at which point we'd start run to the other side of the arena. Once he stops spinning he kind of just hovers over a player shooting skulls, but since there's a dirt platform above us, the skulls don't reach.
For the fight I used fossil armor and I threw javelins. I forget what my brother used. I used a yoyo while waiting out the skulls, and then when he did the spin attack and we ran to the other side I threw more javelins.
I've noticed that the queen cant shoot through the house so she'll switch sides which gives me time to jump to the other side.
It's tedious but it works
Oh man. My first eclipse and I got two broken hero swords. Now I have the Terra Blade
I haven't even beaten Plantera yet. I was going to wait till I had enough chlorophyte for a set of armor
Well I know what I'm going to do now
This is Tei's handiwork, isn't it?
Thoughts? I like how the shape turned out, but the interior feels a bit iffy. Crits much appreciated.
I like it a lot, the chimney is so cute. Maybe you could simulate items being on the shelf below the books by using 2-3 different walls and painting them (one disc wall tile perhaps? and something else).
Is the upper floor supposed to be exterior? If it is, I'd paint it even lighter, so that it pops out.
If that house with a central beam is also yours btw, I'm kind of missing some visible windows on both, they feel a tad bit claustrophobic.
>Maybe you could simulate items being on the shelf below the books by using 2-3 different walls and painting them (one disc wall tile perhaps? and something else).
Or if not, you can make fake doors on the lower shelves so that it's a shelf with a cabinet.
Even with a shitton of beenades, the bees knee and the hivepack I still cant get rid of Skeletron
Any succestions for an arena?
What movement-items should I take?
Currently trying the Slime-Mount because it lets me jump on the fucker and not care about the way down.
I built a house, and I unintentionally put a monument of one of my deaths.
Where's the fucking campfires? Put some of them down to boost your life regen dude. Also a star in a bottle for mana regen if you find you're running out of mana too fast.
I assume you're in expert mode so I'm goign to suggest fishing and making sushi or something. Basically something that gives you the Well Fed buff because that boosts all your stats and gives better life regen. Chug down a regen potion and you shouldnt have many problems staying alive (assuming you can dodge)
Also rebind a key to quick heal. I use X for quick heal so it chugs a healing potion when I need to but I dont have to mouse over to it and risk losing dps.
I don't want to build a commie block, so I'm going to rearrange this into something nicer. What material should I use?
Thanks! I like that wall idea, I'll have to use that somewhere. The upper floor is supposed to be a bedroom of sorts; I'll probably get rid of the ceiling, it doesn't really look right.
I'm pretty sure the one you're talking about is mine, and yeah, I'll try to work in some bigger windows.
True, I could probably just use a different kind of wood.
That's actually a really neat idea; thanks, anon!
I'my trying to do the WoF on Expert but everytime I get it to 500 it turbocharges and kills me quickly. I already have a hellbridge and the Lightning boots.
What can i use to deal 500 damage in a quick burst?
I tried beenades but the constantly respawning hungry distract the bees.
I just returned to a goblin invasion in progress. Turns out the Invasion also turned hardmode midway through.
>It crashed on me twice before I even was able to build a house.
Oh, c'mon. Can't 505 make decent patches for once? They just updated the PSN version and they didn't fix the crashing either. AND they actually added some slowdowns that happen randomly.

>Jungle less then a screen wide
>Jungle with a Crimson biome in each side
>Jungle with a Crimson right in the middle
>Jungle as a spawn point and was the size of nearly half the Large world
>Snow biome was completely crimsoned
Yeah, I was pretty surprised. I thought only normal forest and the Snow biome could be the Spawn points.
Although I figured it could get kinda chaotic dealing with invasions + regular hardmode Jungle enemies.
Yeah, there's not a lot special about the spawn itself, besides the fact that it's dead center. Had one small world generate with the spawn nestled between the jungle and tundra which merged underground. It looked pretty neat.
Fucking hell. At least now we know they used Google Translate for the Spanish version of the game.
What I don't get is why they put the reforge name in between brackets. I assume is to avoid having to gender the weapons, but it makes them sound fucking awful.
For example, swords are feminine in Spanish, so the reforge should be "Piadosa"
They could've avoided this by turning the adjetives into preposition + article + sustantive:
Legendary Wooden Sword -> Wooden Sword of the Legends
Espada de Madera Legendaria -> Espada de Madera de las Leyendas
They just used the fucking Google Translator. I mean, godly can translate into piadoso, but not in this context.
Oh, right. I forgot Spain's nouns have a gender. Your way of adding affixes doesn't work for things like "large", "bulky", "shameful", etc. I think I would rather have them in parenthesis at the end of the item's name.
>Your way of adding affixes doesn't work for things like "large", "bulky", "shameful", etc.
It does work like that, but they'd need to add something in the game to check an item's gender, so they went with the parenthesis.
Get wings for dodging.
Daedalus Stormbow with hellfire arrows is good against Destroyer, heartreach potion should be used because of all these hearts from probes.
Get best armor you can get. I used frost armor but Adamantine/Titanium set should be good enough.
Fireplace and heart lamp for regeneration boost.
Reforge accesories for defence boost (warding is best one, +4 def)
Clockwork Assault Rifle with hardmode bullets (ichor, cursed, crystal, explosive for Destroyer).
Destroyer should go first, because you will be able to make megashark, that's huge boost in firepower.
If you're playing Expert, then I don't know.
>Get wings for dodging.
Gravitation potions are better than wings if you know how to use them, meaning you can switch those out with a damage accessory.
>Daedalus Stormbow with hellfire arrows is good against Destroyer, heartreach potion should be used because of all these hearts from probes.
Heartreach is fine, but if you're using Daedalus, Holy Arrows are much, much better than Hellfire arrows thanks to their piercing. Even on expert they shred the boss in a matter of seconds.
>Get best armor you can get. I used frost armor but Adamantine/Titanium set should be good enough.
Frost Armor is actually worse than Adamantite/Titanium. It has poor stats, and a useless set bonus. I'd also go Palladium/Orichalcum over Adamantite, since the new hardmode ores are much better than the old hardmode ores. Titanium is still broken-tier in terms of overpoweredness, though.
>Reforge accesories for defense boost
On expert, defense doesn't mean shit. +4 damage or +4 crit will give you the best results.
>Clockwork Assault Rifle with hardmode bullets (ichor, cursed, crystal, explosive for Destroyer).
Clockwork is much worse than Daedalus on Destroyer. If you do decide to use it though, ichor and cursed bullets are completely useless on the boss since it has immune to those status effects. Crystal bullets are also much better than explosive bullets in terms of DPS. The best thing explosives have going for them are their knockback, which is useless against bosses.
I've been spending a lot of time in hardmode Expert now and hanging around on floating islands, but no Wyverns. Am I missing something? new spawn conditions?
I might find a large feather before meeting a wyvern
40 playtime hours or more.
Whoa, hold it, it's 400 hours, not 40
>After 16+ days (400 hours), this is the result. It wasn't as thoroughly destructive as I'd hoped, but still pretty effective. Places where Chlorophyte breaks the surface can act as a natural barrier, and geographic irregularities like large caves, silt, and ore outcroppings also prevented full destruction. The ocean was completely converted to Crimson in 4 hours.
>Practical lesson: 400 hours is an awful lot of game time, so conversion to Crimson/Corruption is still relatively slow. Some people wouldn't even spend that much time on a single world. Killing Plantera will drastically slow the spread. But if you want to protect your jungle in a world you plan to keep, doing a bit of preemptive digging (or bombing) before starting hardmode could save your sanity -- and your jungle.
>yfw you change your look
Screen flipping can be confusing and nauseating. With wings you can go anywhere more precisely
Didn't test those. I'm, talking about hellfire arrows because you can buy those and explosion damages nearby targets, including Destroyer's body parts.
>useless set bonus
Only few enemies are immune to frostburn. Constant damage is a good thing.
>Clockwork is much worse than Daedalus on Destroyer
Expect when you don't have the Daedalus yet. Special mimics are hard to kill when you you don't have megashark.
Explosive bullets work the same like hellfire arrows, hitting multiple targets with splash damage.
Guide schoolhouse idea. He has a lot to teach.
>Screen flipping can be confusing and nauseating. With wings you can go anywhere more precisely
Except again, those take up an accessory slot. Sure, wings are good in general, but if you're really trying to maximize DPS, they have to go. They can be substituted for a decent arena and a good hook, too.
>I'm, talking about Hellfire arrows because you can buy those and explosion damages nearby targets, including Destroyer's body parts.
Holy Arrows have a larger AoE than Hellfire Arrows, they deal twice the damage, and have piercing.
>Only few enemies are immune to frostburn.
And Destroyer is one of them.
>Constant damage is a good thing.
Yeah anon, that 6 DPS sure is useful in hardmode, where your weapons are literally doing ten times that amount. Titanium is miles better, anyway.
>Expect when you don't have the Daedalus yet. Special mimics are hard to kill when you you don't have megashark.
You know you can spawn those in manually, right? I can understand how they can be pretty tough early on if you find one naturally underground, especially if you're in rough terrain. That's pretty much the only time they're challenging, though. Spawn one in the surface or any other large open area and they're pretty easy to dodge.
>Explosive bullets work the same like hellfire arrows, hitting multiple targets with splash damage.
And again, they're still outclassed by Crystal Bullets. Hitting with all three shards means almost triple damage.
i think this is too many crates
this isnt even half of them please help

Oh I do, I'm just looking for that specific one cause I remember it was pretty useful and was broken down to about 20 chests.
First time trying to build something nice.
r8 or h8
So what kinda nonsense are you guys planning on building with the new mechanics?
>try making it taller as too make the supports seem more diagonal
Fuck, I see now what you mean. I think I'll leave the tower as it is since I'd have to rebuild it entirely, but thanks for the tip. I'll keep it in mind for my future buildings.
see >>127678657 and >>127679640
Don't worry about it at all. Maybe you have to worry a little about your base, since if corruption or crimson gets to it, NPCs won't be able to live there, but that's about it.
Dunno about favorites, but this always makes me smile.

I once attempted to replicate Scrooge McDuck's money vault, but it turned out looking like shit. Maybe I should try again.
Should I arrange my library in a 5 tile high or 4 tilehigh floors?
Planning on having 8 Floors with 4 cases each, with one tile spacer in between a set of 2 cases, for lamps and maybe a banner
Maybe I'll do 4 floors with 8 each, because the library will be built on a tower already, so I'd go wide rather than high.
I decided to present the 3 option for myself and for you so you have a reference frame what it would look like. I also consider using the first two with hanging lanterns
You need to make ceiling-high pillars that hold their own lanterns between the bookcases. If you're going with this marble/stone/whatever look, rip something from this off.
Made third option: 4 tiles high with platforms instead of solid blocks
I actually feel confident about this.
8 Book cases per floor and the couch makes it a suitable place to house an NPC
Copied this guys tower and kinda improved on it
Coming fresh from the person who brought to you >>127737736
Final iteration. With 4x8 book cases I hope to collect them all, having not a single one double, the access floor will be between floor 2 and 3, making it nicely symmetrical
I would add some support beams behind those lamps so it doesn't look like the next floor is floating. Ebon, Palm, Shade, Living all make for nice background beams. Paint to match.
For instance anon, even some unpainted ebonwood wall used as beams add a nice accent to the monotonous smooth marble and help break up the floor into sections for the curious bookfinder.
>blood full moon
>no moon charm
>doesnt even have the common curtesy to follow up with solar eclipse

Has this general become almost nothing but bumping whenever it reaches page 10?
I like the concept and materials, but there are some details that are interfering with the overall quality.
- stone/concrete foundation things should extend farther into the ground
- legs and bottom cross-supports look too squiggly
- roof could use some reinforcement and extra character, like perhaps some background element hanging from the solid blocks that make up the roof itself, giving the feel of an overhang
Overall, your build makes me happy.
Its been a while since I last changed my look

Why are there suddenly so many fucking fireflies?
Did I miss something?
It was just as dead before the release, anon.
They spawn near NPCs.
So I just plated my future vault with copper, now considering painting it so all the bling will contrast better.
What's a good colour to paint copper plating and what are good contrasting blocks/platforms to put my chests and mannequins and piles of loot on?
That really didn't affect me since I'm
probably the only oneplaying the console version.
There, this is my look
Please draw me
I did a mockup. Still can't decide, but white seems better than Grey. I just have the weird feeling that as soon as I am finished putting all the paint on, the white is gonna be too bright to look at.
Why not a combination? You could use white for the portion that is closer to the camera, and make a niche that is farther away. Or use white for support pillars and grey for the walls, or something like that.
This is my current setup. Is obsidian ok or should I go for something different? I feel like going for Meteorite Brick.
I wish we could "swap out" bricks so we dont have to empty and destroy chests like that.
Put the mannequins into little niches lit from above, like the batsuit here.
This time with Meteorite bricks.
What kind of niches? Dug into the side of the room?
I kinda already measured everything for its purpose. The rest of the room will be the Tax Collectors room and my treasury (piles of money and bars and bling)
>What kind of niches? Dug into the side of the room?
No, just put a darker background behind them and a possibly a border to the left and right so that it looks like they're recessed into the background wall.
I dunno man, doesn't seem to stylish, maybe I'll try some different wallpattern.
Extend it to the top, put two pillars on each side, hammer the slopes into stairs, use a hammered actuated copper block and gemspark wall block to create a small light above each.
Come one, come all! Pledge your eternal soul to the Crimson with only a single donation of your blood!
Throw some stone slab/gray brick/painted ebonstone wall in there.
>start new world with friends
>they all keep cheating in items
I think I'll rather use palladium walls as pillars.
What do you think?
i'd prefer some slower paced combat, right now it's always so fucking frantic. I dont even know how I did it before the high-contrast Cursor. And you even have to MOD that one in.
I like the screen-size. I cant deal with Starbound's or Edge-of-Space's tiny screens compared to the character.
A bit slower paced so you can think more about positioning and stuff and make it harder to cheese. I practically beat all the standard and the mechanical bosses by continously reversing gravity or running real fast.
Once the pace is a bit slower, stuff like blocking and shields and dodging could become a thing.
I love using the dash-items to negate damage though!
