I don't know why, i just don't see it. I'll probably get it, and since i have basically no expectations for it i may just like it.

But fuck that artstyle, holy shit. Also, the only cool new biome song is the Corruption, everything else is trash.

Did you decorate it? It's a nice looking base. I actually really like how the fence interacts with the floor and how you positioned the stairs (it looks like they go slightly behind the blocks at the top, too bad that the character will actually walk over that part.

I'd do the roof out of something else though, looks like it should be one of those straw roofs or something.

Things that might look good on it: a sort of crossectional beam support blocks strategically placed, also a slight reinforcement directly at the wooden post tops.

Don't go to the edge of the map, probes will spawn outside the world or near it and despawn instantly. Being on the outer thirds of the world is enough. And stand still, if you move recently spawned enemies are left behind and disappear.

You know smart mining adjusts to 4x2 instead of 3x2 on a mount, right? The only downside of the cosmic car key is that you dismount in liquids. Dunno about you but I always have the celestial shell equipped and marked invisible for its multitude of bonuses, so that isn't such a big hassle since I can just swim out.

Each pillar appears to be designed around the type of equipment it gives. If you're solo solar pillar should be easiest if you're melee. Stay within about ten blocks of the ground, since above that crawltipedes target you. Aim for crawltipedes' asses to kill them, and use a sword or yoyo (with bag) both to mow the mooks down and to serve as a barrier against their mostly melee attacks. Use beetle armour, obviously.

Well, fuck. I just stood there and spammed the Vampire Knives and Golem wouldn't outdamage the healing. Farmed 6 Golems in maybe, 6 minutes.
The same thing with Ocram. Just stood there and aimed at him.

To be fair there's still plenty of shit you get pre-golem that you can just stand there and spam to kill the golem in the pc version. It's probably the easiest boss in the game with appropriate gear for when you first encounter it, save maybe king slime and eye of cthulhu.

Something like a mix of Eye of Cthulhu and the Twins. It rushes at you and stands still bellow or on top of you while spaming minions like Brain of Cthulhu and beams/scythe beams everywhere. So, some sort of mix of all the Bosses's AI.
I'll give it another go tonight but without the VK. Maybe then it will be a challenge.

Ok so I've onlt been playing for like 20 hours and I need some help.

I have a big underground base with lots of room to expand downward for more NPC rooms, but I have trouble with bloodmoons.
Zombies somehow spawn both between my defensive wall and the front door on the surface. They also spawn in my unused lower rooms.

Is there any way to make my base impenetrable to enemies and to stop them from spawning so close or already inside?
If not, I think I will take my valuables and make a tower base in a new world. NPCs are too dumb to use ropes but I think they could just teleport inside.

well it was just for fishing purposes originally but yesterday i hit the 200 quest mark and now i'm not sure, maybe i will remove it maybe not.
I will bring the world into hardmode soon so i get the other NPCs but first i want to finish some other things im working on, the all purpose arena being number one on the list.

As long as you're far from the surface and your base, Blood Moons are inoffensive. AlthoughI gave entirely on underground bases because of Blood Moon and the Hardmode Wraiths and shit. It's just better to build a tower or floating island.

Same here, I'm glad I'm not the only one who is severely underwhelmed by it. The first thing I thought was "is Red just trying to smash Starbound into the ground with this?"

Another thing: Terraria has one of my favorite OST's of any game, while the music samples I found for Otherworld are all boring and uninspired :[

you can just make a base on pillars a couple of blocks high so they cant reach you, or dig a moat underneath you know, can be made to look really good, not to mention useful with some traps and lava
