Or you could just not be a fag and go over to /hbg/ and do it right now. It's not hard or dangerous if you're not an idiot.
Ah, I see you're still being pressured into making an early thread.

memchunkhax2 will enable downgrading any 3DS's firmware to 9.2. Now in beta, guinea pigs are having mixed success, particularly with n3DS.
Other than needing to have installed Homebrew, there's no harm in waiting for a stable release. 0-day testers are taking a complete risk.
Whats the best theme?
Gear requirements and quest requirements.
They try to wall off content by giving you a quest to reach a level before unlocking the next area and then putting the xp cap just barely touching the required level.
It's infuriating honestly but not really game breaking.
My region and server selections are showing up blank so I can't select the one that you guys are on :(((
game runs fine though, what settings are yall using?
Ignore faggot tripfag.
You get new weapon attacks starting at 20, involving scrolls.
Upgrading weapons is a story quest, its after you make 1 piece of any armor from anything, the guy has red hair and is the forge.
Google "Change system locale to Chinese Simplified/PRC"
I'm trying to do Guild Quests with people, but every time I join a room I get booted the second I enter. I'm HR 170, silver crown. Are people just booting me because I'm not HR 500+?
Why is osutogaroa so much more fun and interesting than literally every other final boss and most monsters in general?
After just 4 fights, he's become my favorite monster.
What monster skull is it that he uses to create lightning? lagi?
>that brooding atmosphere of phase 1
>that unsettling feeling the tentacles give off when you think they are his actual heads, because of how they move
>the way the roar is almost silent if it isn't close to you
>the darkness effect when it enrages
>you seem to just kind of get up instantly if you get knocked down
You don't. It seems like sometimes you'll do the acrobatics thing where you land on your feet after getting thrown, even without eating, but that may just be related to the fact that I have 300 ping.
>forgetting LBG's role in hame
>sharpness+1 with steve weapon and not razor sharp or an offencive skill
>evasion+2 and not +1 and more offence investment
>cramming on heat cancel and not more attack
What's your defence? Is your sword honed? Also wystone level 2 still isn't great if you don't have two wystones, finish your wyceum quests and get a second one. You might have skipped lab partners or something.
If you only have one level 2 Wystone that is definitely why you're getting kicked, if you have two then people just don't like your set (theres nothing wrong with it it just doesn't have as many skills on it as some people would like to see). Also try making the black fatalis blade it's better than cera
Pretty sure Cera Cymmetry is the diablos weapon, and therefore does benefit from sharpness. And heat cancel and evasion+1 came with the set. Evade+2 is what was crammed.
If it's just the wystones then that's fine, I somehow managed to do all the G1 and G2 quests apart from the ones required for wystones.
Also good tip, thanks.
If the part you're aiming at isn't flailing about too much, DD.
Shit like tails, you'll want to spin, since I'm pretty sure the tail can push you away while you're dancing.
Because Demon Dance is a noob trap which should only be used on something standing still, otherwise you'll wiff every hit and look like a fucking retard.
I'm so confused. can somebody explain this shit to me?
Zamites are literally juvenile zamtrios
The hell is that
Probably because the localization team thought zamTRIos would be a fun play on how it has 3 states
Next thing you know they'll forget other monsters that have existing juvenile forms like gravios or agnaktor
Okay, which is what i currently am using. Do you have to go to web browser to launch rxtools everytime? Because that's fucking tragic
yeah i fucked up, I was too busy trying to read particular guides on the shit i was installing, a guy mentioned cake to me, didn't realize it was N3ds only.
Jesus.. I really can't read. I've been up for over 28 hours waiting for the habbening, feel like shit, can't think straight, and I won't let myself sleep until i get this shit set up
>Do you have to go to web browser to launch rxtools everytime? Because that's fucking tragic
You mean you don't play monster hunter in at least 10 hour long sittings? A minute to start things up is nothing.
But there are ways to made it autoload. I haven't bothered.
It's not so much as i don't mind it, But i'll be Downgrading my gf's too, she normally doesn't play for longer than 2-3ish hours at a time, and the first thing i'm gonna get asked is if has a simpler way.
>>127416717 I wish i understood all the angles, shit man i wish i understand half of them. I haven't even tried installing the .cias or patches or anything. All i've done is set shit up in the past 5-6 hours
Just look at those muscles how can Flying wyverns even compete?
>mfw after making the molten tigrex bow
>all those KO's with boosted exhaust coated arrows
>all those raths and steves knocked out of the sky from blast coating explosions
>raw damage out the ass
I haven't enjoyed a bow this much in a long time.
I know how to beat uragaan and all, it's just that he's still slow and boring and there's not a lot of reason to bother with him outside of keys
But it's still better than gravios
Well back in 3U a lot of things required steel Uragaan scutes, so people often had to come back to it quite often to upgrade weapons.
Gravios is the pinnacle of anti fun though. Fuck that big stone cock.
>Beamsword LV3 Motion Values
Phials 10 =249
From the same site that brought you Discharge II(20+40) and AED(75), that is dopr as usual.
I'm just assuming you mean MH4U
HBG with pierce.
For full spoonfeedery
Destiny's Arm honed for Attack
and an armor set with the following skills:
Recoil Down +1
These are in order of importance. With Recoil down being the most important.
It does require Recoil Down +2 but once you get it, it's an Evil Wind Darkcannon that autoreloads by rolling.
Any HBG that has good pierce stats.
Good pierce stats would be at least 6 bullets per reload and having the recoil of "Some"
If it doesn't have "Some" recoil, use the Recoil Down skill to achieve the "Some". You ideally do not want any deviation although Deviation L or Deviation R can be compensated for by aiming. Deviation LR is when you'll have a problem. Either tone the Deviation down with the Steady Hand skill or just avoid them completely.
It would be preferred to have Limiter off unless you have an LBG or Bugstaff buddy that can keep the monster on lockdown and in that case, Crouch Firing would offer higher DPS.
You are tasked by capcom to come up with a new gunner weapon.
what is it?
which meme build should i use
gaijinshit's life leech lbg build
maximum damage slicing s lbg build
Funnels. Or maybe kisects,
You now manage up to 8kinsects.
You play like a bow, Your attacks marks the target. After a while, you kindsect will attack that target.
Special move with a 2min cooldown like WF from gunlance, is the insects turn into a buglauncher, putting 3 out 8 insects in cooldown.
Fuuuu this is taking so long, I WANNA PLAY.
MH TOP 10 SADDEST MUSIC
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRXg9Zwxp9E ;__ ;
Okay, sure I guess you could consider that segment as such. But I wouldn't consider the whole track sad just because of that. That's the kind of argument that would let me post Reincarnation of Light and Darkness and call that sad, or Chaotic Gore's theme.
Wouldn't ever really lump Ruko's theme with something "sad".
It and Rebi's theme sound far too heroic for me to think that, especially both are sorta themed as a last line of defense style fight.
Might just be my experiences with the fights mixing the themes creating a different perception of it though.
>GS and SA can kill Level 10 Dino in 8 minutes
>Lance needs adrenaline to do it sub 10
>LS needs 12 minutes to do it at all
literally 4U balance except IG was replaced with SA
good job ichinose
It may have been dummied out of the Western release. Kiranico doesn't have information on how to get it.
Don't feel bad about it, it's a mediocre weapon. Unless you were only after it to finish a collection or for looks, in which case you have my condolences.
That reminds me, element may as well not exist in this game. It's kind of depressing. The only weapon still using element is DBs, and even then only because they have to, and the element reliance is hurting the weapon more than anything.
>Perpetual 1.5x damage boost in sword mode now
So they've finally removed Power Phial and hard baked it into the motion values? About fucking time.
>Don't want element to be useful
I feel like elemental damage on SA is best as a foot note. Like, it should always be the correct choice to use the right element, but the best choice for any element should be the high raw damage option.
No, power phial is still there and the only viable option more than ever. You just have new hunter arts that boost your phial even further.
And element in MHX is less of a footnote and more of a noob trap. Element is NEVER good, and only weapons with natural white matter because Handicraft more or less doesn't exist anymore.
>Power Phial is still there
Oh, for fuck's sake. It's such an obvious balance flaw, just remove the fucking thing.
>Only weapons with natural white matter
Fuck. Is it as bad as MHTri, where only Jho and Alatreon weapons were worth a damn? Or do we still have at least some options for our raw-centric dildo of choice?
>Is it as bad as MHTri, where only Jho and Alatreon weapons were worth a damn?
Worse. 9 out of 14 weapons have their only good option come from the same monster (Ember Dinovaldo). For the other two blademaster weapons it's Tigrex.
Gunners are the only ones who get some diversity.
Element was shit from the get-go
In MH1, the best Lances were raw because back then the stagger caps was even lower than in 4U and Lances was known for Staggerlocking for its time. Even the Ogre Tusk could staggerlock as well, not just the Black Dragonlance.
In MHF1, the best SnS was surprise, a raw SnS that is the Shining Wyvern Blade because SnS as a class had a jacked-up sharpness modifier back then. It's also Ichinose's first MH.
>Only one good option (one)
So none of the other weapons are even remotely worth using? Seregios and Jho and Narga don't even get a mention?
>Only one possible armour skill set up
I'm less fussed about this if the set up is fun to use and doesn't require an obscure charm.
>So none of the other weapons are even remotely worth using? Seregios and Jho and Narga don't even get a mention?
Nope. Although, Ember Dino weapons aren't the best for CB and GL, which I forgot. But those two weapons are utterly unplayable now anyway so it doesn't really matter.
I heard you guys are talking about element
>need furious Rajang horn from G-rank
>people host nothing but regular Rajang
anyone wanna grind for horns with me?
>But those two weapons are utterly unplayable now anyway so it doesn't really matter.
>better than ever
The GL rework was a nerf. As most reworks that reduce a weapon's simplicity tend to be. GL was at its best when all it did was spam upward thrusts and never use anything else.
>cuts jho's tail from about 10 meters away with ground collision 3
That's why should actually do the quests instead of only going through keys.
The cat with afro gives you some quests, final being the G Furious Rajang.
Anyway, I guess you could make a room, to make the general slightly less dead.
You're talking with someone too stuck up to use anything but Guild Style so of course he sees a weapon without it's most powerful combo as a mere husk of its former self, comparable to that of vanilla MH4.
Actually, the fact that Guild Style can still snipe AEDs from idle in Axe Form puts them above the shittastic vanilla version. Moreso now that hiccup is gone from its boosted version.
it got a slight nerf to motion values and a greatly expanded playstyle in bushido
just because you cant sit in sword form and spam AED all day doesn't mean the weapon is bad. it takes actual timing and monster moveset knowledge to use now, which you wouldn't have.
>just because you cant sit in sword form and spam AED all day doesn't mean the weapon is bad.
Except it does, because quick dial AEDs and the overpowered motion value on discharge 2 were the only reason to even use the weapon to begin with. Both of those are gone now.
>Quick AED's and the overpowered motion value were the only reason to even use the weapon to begin with
I don't understand how anyone can be this inept. How is it even possible to have a gap in comprehension this wide?
You don't play a weapon to use its strong attacks, you use the strong attacks to play the weapon. You've got it fucking ass backwards.
Okay, I'll explain it a different way.
You use whichever attacks are the strongest. It doesn't matter which attacks they are, you use the strongest. If the strongest attack is the AED, you spam the AED. If the strongest combo is infinitely morphing axe>sword>axe>sword, as retarded as that seems, that's the combo you're going to be using.
The reason to use CB was never "Quick AED's", it was the fact that the CB hit hard. That it hit hard through the AED is completely irrelevant.
What you just said is the equivalent of saying "GL shells got nerfed and aren't worth using and that was the only reason to use the GL anyway". If the GL NOW does a ton of damage with its stabs, you use the GL for its stabs now.
Do you understand? It's fucking difficult to explain this, it's like trying to explain the concept of addition and subtraction. It should be obvious, but somehow it's not to you.
My point is that the only things that made CB really stand out are gone. Without quick AEDs it's too clunky, and with the nerfed level 2 discharge it can't capitalize off of trips and stuns well enough. It's mediocre as hell now, so there's no longer any reason to use it.
instead of quick AEDs it has quick axe twirls from GP, which is not quite as strong but still pretty damn strong, and you can follow them up with a AED if you have a window.
get some more experience with the weapon in X, then say if its shit or not.
Can someone help me out with something? I'm trying to get hold of a Kut-Ku ear in MH4. I don't see a guild or caravan quest I can farm so I've been waiting for Expeditions with them in to pop up for days, breaking it's ears (and picking up any shinies) and killing them. I never get ears as a quest reward, nor as a pickup or at the carve. I only need one and I've killed tons of them and got nothing even though it's supposed to be a 50% chance. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.
>I need to farm Kut-Ku
Get a guild quest from expeditions, or do one of the abundant downloadable quests for Cute-Koo.
DLC in MH is [F R E E], just go to your housekeeping cat and download the lot of it.
when will you retarded faggots learn?
there is no such thing as balance in a pve game, and there never will be.
the absolute, undisputable FACT is that if you are not using the best greatsword and using the best set, you are playing the game casually and should not care if what you are using is good or not.
MH needs a better gallery mode already. Should contain the Books like in the old games(you know those books, right? The ones that gave helpful info on areas, monster types, weapons, etc). Then a Monster 3D Model Viewer, doesn't even require an animation button because it would be too much to ask for, just do it like MG Peace Walker and it would be cool. A Monster Sound Test would also be cool but it might be too much to ask for too. Music Sound Test shouldn't, though.
>there is no such thing as balance in a pve game
Yeah, anon. You can literally bookmark the page by overwriting something like Yahoo with the address. Then you can literally do it in 10 seconds tops and then you're on cfw and playing the game.
Anyone has the MHX 1.1 english patched cia? Or where I could download it?
for most weapons, its not as good as it seems.
you can be hit during the run and cant do much about it, some of the more aggressive monsters do this frequently.
guild or striker usually beats it.
This site. Make an account. Then download the thing that says Gdrive v8.
It's the game patched to version 7 (yeah it lied). The game isn't 1.1 though I don't think. It still asks me to update, but I'm not bothering because it might ruin the text. But here ya go.
Last question regarding the whole cia stuff. I recently did the cfw with rxtool and i need to know. Do i just install the cia and it will work straight up with my NA 3ds? Or do i need to do something else to play japanese games?
MHO's little help option at the quest board from 25 is pretty neat. It doesn't eat your tickets, you still get materials from whichever monster you end up helping with and each box has a chance to give you a talent fragment
I have a quick question. If I were to uninstall the game in order to say, reinstall later with a better english patch. Would the game delete the update file as well?
So would I need to also reinstall the update?
Any news about a /mhg/ guild in MHO?
Started playing yesterday, no problems so far despite knowing nothing of chinese runes.
Are there tour quest or something that doesn't waste my tickets for gathering?
Just finshed crafting the Velocidrome set. Fuck budworms.
Also how do tickets work? I only have 1 left, do I get more tomorrow?
Anyone got this quest or are willing to download it and are available to host it today?
I found out it's the spider's eye, but do i have to keep hitting the face? I killed it a couple times now and not even 1 drop, or do i have to capture it?
You get 10 more in four hours, you have 20 you can bring in that get replenished every week from the ticket UI (the same thing that shows how many tickets you currently possess can be clicked on to access this) and the special goods vendor sells 6 tokens a day which give one ticket and can be stockpiled in your storage/inventory for when you need them.
I don't believe there are harvest tours, or any non-ticket spending gathering means outside of the farm and public farm so just be sure you gather while you do other things. Especially story missions since those hunts are free. Helps that you can speed up the farm nodes you need things from (for example, budworms can be harvested from the bug node, and you can spend the farm currency to instantly gather again)
That said, the farm isn't unlocked until level 10, but just keep that in mind for when you get it (which shouldn't be very long)
I found and download the quest (forgot about the extra DLC) but for some reason the Kut-Ku I have to trap is really small and my tranq bombs fly right over it. I've tried it three times now and wasted all my bombs, starting to get really pissed off. Is there an easier way? I've spent roughly a week now just trying to get a single damn ear.
>it has quick axe twirls from GP
>"So it says here you main Gunlance. Why's that?"
Have you? Look at any striker style speedrun, it's both versions of absolute evasion with a filler hunter art
Even if they did enough damage to justify their long animations, the monster is usually already dead before they've even finished charging because they charge based on motion values, not damage dealt.
Well now that it's actually a game and not an MMO skinner box only dedicated players want to play not newbie #1124. Why does anyone want to play with randoms anymore after the atrocity that was MH4U?
GS takes absolute evasion ~only~ because it is an instant sheath, and it takes battle ready because its solid all around.
just because it isn't in a speedrun doesn't mean its bad. some of the arts are highly situational or require a setup, which isnt condusive to speedrunning.
for example, the two GS arts can be combined to deal over 15% of a monsters HP in one hit, an instant kill on a sleeping monster and can completely bypass the limping phase on a low health monster.
they are good, and they are fun, but they arent fast.
Wherever Gore goes, the Blacklist monster will surely follow. Including MH Explorers.
People use GS because it's the best, not because they enjoy it. The only other weapon used is tonfas because they're ezmode.
Frontier GS was actually a bit more complicated. Charges take quite a bit longer, and it has a GP mechanic.
So Capcom buffed it so people would be able to get good results with it even if they suck, with the side effect of making it broken when used by someone skilled.
Speak for yourself, the sheer satisfaction of sniping with a LV3 Charge is one of the best feelings in MH. Especially in FU where it could temporarily stop time before the monster ends up flinching(read: intense hitstopping).
I NEED PICTURES
PICTURES OF NOBONES OSUTOGAROA WEAPONS
>implying landing a lv3 is hard
And I'm talking specifically about Frontier GS here, which depending on the matchup is either an extremely slow version of our regular greatsword with ludicrously overpowered damage, or a CB with no phial gimmick, a lot more damage but no stuns.
That's how I pronounce it in my head. I've always thought it was an abbreviation for Heroics Adrenaline something something so pronunciation didn't matter, is it actually a Japanese term?
Welp. The moment of truth. Less than 40% before my MHX cia gets installed. If this doesn't work im gonna hit somebody because i have wasted a lot of hours of setting everyhing up thanks to my shit internet and laptop
I only have these two on hand
I'd have to make and upgrade the rest to see the nobones versions because MHX is retarded like that
>sage, a Japanese term.
Also even if that were true, the fuck does that have to do with a general, non-specific reply?
Also the other usuals; Javelins, Cannon, Whip, and "Flamethrower".
Ironically the bone versions end up being better thanks to blunt weapon
The squid ones generally only have 190 raw, even less dragon, and a sliver of natural white in exchange for only neutral affinity so the only real reason to use them is if you want tons of blue sharpness without dedicating any skills to it, you just haven't made anything better after unlocking your HR, or just plain looks
For what it's worth they're still viable, but once better options appear you'll never look back
yo i havent played monster hunter in a long while and playing mhx is really strange. i feel like i have no idea when to attack the monsters. i start an attack and then they start theirs, fucking me up. how do i know when to attack?
The longer the tell, the larger range or higher damage the move will have.
It's a common tactic they use in nearly all the fights to give people at least a little warning before they get one shot.
Like notice how the player character knows when to book it, while the AI just run right in like retards but get away with it since they gain crazy defense to balance out the fact that they are idiots.
Also Gasura isn't really a crazy strong monster anyway, more or less a fun way to introduce the White Lake area.
And rape my framerate if I use High Grade Mode for some reason.
The bone CB also has an element phial, so it's strictly outclassed by akantor as a blunt abuser
Which is another thing, as blunt weapons akantor's are just plain better, but akantor doesn't have a weapon for every class
in MHO is there a way to make it so when you roll it behaves like old monster hunter games
so if you want to roll right while your weapon is out. you will always roll right if you hold right on the directional?
how do you remove cats from your party?
hammer stun in this game seems really hard to achieve. im not that far so everything is pretty weak but is this true for MHO?
>The language the term in some guy's post come from, has anything to do with my making a general statement on the subject
Did I say "how Japanese things are pronounced"?
Did I say "How sage is pronounced"?
Or did I say "how things are pronounced"?
You're literally retarded. Congrats.
You implied sage wasn't a Japanese word. Now you're babbling about random shit. Your "non-specific reply" was to a completely specific conversation. You are a fucking moron, and that's the end of that. Have a nice day.
Just google custom quests MH4U dasding, it's piss easy
Because you can do it yourself.
I believe so, the only way it interacts with the game is the DLC menu which shouldn't matter.
>To have an idea of how things are pronounced, you need to talk to other human beings on a semi-regular basis instead of only shitposting online.
To which you replied:
>Talking to people irl isn't really going to help with Japanese words unless you're talking to other imageboard addicts or Japanese people.
This is not a difficult concept anon, your original reply presumed I was talking about Japanese when it's a general reply about about pronunciation in general
>b-but you asked (thing that's completely irrelevant to the crux of the argument)!
I'm afraid that's not how it works you fucking tool. Was this originally a debate over whether or not sage is a Japanese term? No? Get the fuck over yourself and stop trying to dodge the point.
Striker is fine on any weapon that doesn't lose anything from it
Though I'd only ever use it on SA because it's the only weapon that actually uses hunter arts other than evasive ones
Squads are basically clans where up to ten people can join and gain points by doing 4-man hunts. As far as I know its just a means to get neat costumes and some consumables.
I'll add you when I get home from work, but my IGN is Goshzilla and we got two others so far - Dagou and Study
>Akantor weapon against Rajang
>Hammer, one of the noted exceptions for HC Dino weapons
what exactly are you trying to prove with random cherrypicked niche scenarios
Hell yes, I'd love a simple tribal hunting life. Fuck all the intricacies of modern society. I am assuming that this pill also grants me the super regeneration and near invulnerability of hunters.
Sure, even without the crazy strength and regeneration I could probably enjoy life as a hunter mook kicking jaggis and aptonoth.
Unrelated note, the lack of weapon variety in MHO disappoints me. Of course there'd still be only one best for each class but at least there'd be some more options.
Would I get to pick the general area and or gen I get to be in?
Also do I get a free Feylne buddy?
I'd love fighting monsters with a talking cat bro.
Bull shit. I have a 36 ice glance and it murders anything weak to ice. And element has always been a supplemental tool in corroboration with raw and affinity and now hunter arts and styles.
Weird to realize in retrospect that brute wyverns were incredibly boring until Brachy came along.
Duram's the most boring sack of shit in 3rd gen by a long shot. Uragaan is pretty fun in comparison.
Everything. It's easy to balance weapons. If one weapon is stronger, just give the other weapon that's slightly weaker more slots and/or affinity, or slightly more sharpness.
Let's say you use a faster weapon, in this case you should at least have to always use the right element for the respective monster (Lagi > fire), in some MHs specific monster weapons are so overpowered thanks to sharpness and other shit, you basically use them for everything. Lagi/Deviljho weapons in Tri, Dinovaldo shit in MHX and so on.
It is terrible. We want variety. We want to have to think.
Who thought it was a good idea to have an attack where not having both earplugs and windpress meant a guaranteed hit on you?
MH is a piece of shit series now. It has good gameplay elements but it's completely imbalanced and you are forced to play the easiest and most boring weapon class in the game to achieve good times and be useful online instead of a burden.
It's a huge pile of shit series. Seeing how they added cliffs and retarded walls everywhere to the old MH3 and MH1 locations in MHX is hilarious.
When MH becomes shittier and shitter, why do you guys always buy the newest installment even when you don't even understand any text and have to hack or import it? MH3U is by far the best MH we currently have, how come no one is still playing this here? It's not even in the OP anymore. Or at least keep playing MH4U which at least has more or less balanced weapons.
>forced to play the easiest and most boring weapon class in the game
But it's almost always a different weapon that's the best.
Every weapon in MH is easy and boring, and you just hate whichever one's the most popular
No, it always had an amazing gameplay basis and potential, incredible potential. Now after 10 years you can't say "it's so great, it has potential" anymore. After 20 titles they couldn't do anything with this potential. It was great and improved itself. Then we got MH4U with retarded locations and gimmicks, terrible monsters, GS being a million times better than everything else, Capcom not realizing that Tigrex is NOT a proper replacement for Nargacuga since it's just another monster GS is better than everything else for. MMO droprates, GQ shit, Apex.
Now MHX is like Tri, content-wise, except with the terrible gimmicks from MHX, no underwater combat or something similar that's new, just anime shit and 80 % the content being rehashed weil Tri was all original.
>Monster appears at sea
>Takes half my hp before I can react
>Also apparently I have AIDS now
>Caravaneer tells me I need to hurt it with ballistae
>How the fuck do I hit it with ballista when it's trashing around on an area smaller than my room?
>Caravaneer also tells me the Dragonator needs to be reloaded and that the controls are at the front of the ship
>Dragonator fires at nothing
First time I really felt bullshitted by this game.
OK, but how does greatsword no longer having faster kills than other weapons hurt your fun?
How does letting other people make choices affect your ability to make the same choice you already do?
>But it's almost always a different weapon that's the best.
Since MH4 it's GS. Doubt this will change soon.
It's ridiculously powerful and easy to play but it has more to do with the monsters. And for some reason Capcom completely forgot how to balance monsters properly. Basically every big G2 and G3 monster in MH4U gets easily wrecked by GS, so much you feel like an idiot using something else; be it Zinogre, Magala, all the first gen shit like Kushala, Chameleos, Rajang, Tirgex, Diablos, all the Raths, of course, basically all elder dragons, as always.
In MH3U, for example, there actually were many Nargacuga species, a monster that is not allowing you to hit its face with lvl 3 charges all the time and that really wants you to use a fast weapon for with an extremely weak stomach. Also 3 Lagis, two of them with horns too hard for a GS headsniping the face and that thunder charge hitting all GS players that are mid-charging. Also Brachydios who wasn't dumbed down at this point with Dual Blade probably being the most effective weapon for him. And back then in Tri and older titles even hammer was still great with the superpound attack actually applying KO.
MH is fucking terrible today because today's Capcom has no idea what they're doing. They have no clue about the series anymore. And they want to turn it into some generic action shit, more and more.
Remember when big weapons like GS had slow animations and the series was trying to come off as down to earth? Now look at CB which is probably even heavier than GS (and magically turns lighter when you morph it into a sword).
>eventually go back to try the different weapon types
>can't position myself for shit, monsters keep moving around being shits
>multitasking coatings and distance
>kills shit pretty well
I couldn't dream of playing solo with it but holy shit this is another game entirely. I like it.
You'll get your revenge soon, anon.
>mfw "THE FINAL SHOWDOWN IS ABOUT TO START"
I just made this? What you think?
>watch random Elfenbaum or satan video
Nah, fuck you.
I even listed you the monsters. If you're really trying to say GS is not absolute top tier against all those monsters listed here >>127468829 (and of course some more), you have no idea what you're talking about. Or you're just some delusional Dual Blade or Charge Blade clown. Trust me, I wish more than anyone else those weapons would be better than GS but they aren't. MH is an imbalanced pile of shit, especially since 4.
Tri also had an amazing lance. It's a useless shit weapon in the same league as LS now.
No idea how Uragaan, Lagiacrus, Deviljho, Agnaktor, Gobul etc. are rehashes but well. In this case all monsters are rehashes.
How do you feel about this being the year of the monkey?
Actually I just wanted to post bara Rajang anyway.
IG is only better against a handful of monsters (I would imply Teostra). Best TAs are GS runs.
You also ignore the factor how easy and safe GS is, even if you would achieve better times with IG in general (which is not the case). IG was nerfed in MHX anyway. Not even in its own debug game it beat GS.
His game design is terrible and it's hard to find a server that is not "le hame run, I want my retarded MMORPG droprate weapons, please para spam" because of him. So pretty shit.
>the series was trying to come off as down to earth
Let's verify your claims with actual solid evidence
GS: 9:25, IG: 10:11, CB: 11:42
GS: 9:21, CB: 8:53, IG: 8:52
GS: 6:01 (extreme outlier time, other times are closer to 7:30-8), IG: 7:45, CB: 8:14
GS: 12:45, DB: 8:16, IG: 8:14
GS: 6:28, IG: 6:32
GS: 9:24, IG: 10:27
GS: 7:15, everything else does kinda shit the bed here
GS: 18:22, CB: 12:25, IG: 12:44
Basically roughly equal performance in TAs but IG has the advantage of being far easier and more consistent.
Man, Tribabbies are truly the whiniest fucks of the fanbase
