If sysUpdater freezes for you, do the following:

1. Boot into HBL
2. Press Y
3. Press A
4. Open sysUpdater

No, you don't hold anything. If you press Y at HBL, you'll be asked to enable some shit I can't remember the name right now, then you enable it with A. After that, sysUpdater will work fine.

1) Gather files

THERE ARE CURRENTLY TWO RELIABLE BUILDS

STEVEICE10'S BUILD IMPROVES STABILITY SO I WOULD USE THAT

Get one of those and the correct region and firmware update for your console that can be found here:

DO NOT FUCK THIS PART UP

get the 9.0 or 9.2 updates

2) when both are completed you should have a two zip files

3)extract the firmware update zip file and inside of it should be an updates folder. put that folder on the root of the sd card

4)extract the other zip file and there should be a folder called "sysUpdater"

5)take that folder and put it in the "3ds" folder of your SD card

6)run homebrew launcher preferably through ironhax or menuhax

7)find sysupdater in the menu

8) plug in your charger

9)click it and choose downgrade

10)???

11) Profit

Give it a couple of minutes and boom you've successfully downgraded to a firmware possible of running custom firmware

Anyways, I have a few questions, first of all, how do CIAs work exactly? Are they launchers, or do they install the game directly into the console? After installing them, can I delete them from the SD? Also, for MenuHax, if I copy the content of my SD onto another SD, do I have to install it again does it stay?

Is it possible to apply translations/undubs/etc to CIA files before installing or do you still have to go through the HANS shit after installing the CIA?

I managed to downgrade to 9.2 and started following the rxtools guide, but I have no idea what to do at "6e. Install TinyFormat.cia and launch TinyFormat"

So while waiting for a stable downgrader for the N3DS. Any good emulators homebrew has other than the GBA one it comes with?

I replaced the firm9.2 with the 9.5 one and all I get in Cakes is a black screen now.

I grabbed 3.4.1 and it worked fine. It honestly just depends on which one you'd prefer. The beta has more options but has chances of breaking, so I'd stick with the stable option.

I had to launch ironhax installer, then exit it, then launch sysupdater and it worked.

Each time I downgrade it goes through and says rebooting but when I restart the system it always has the black screen error and I have to use recovery to come back to the latest firmware.

Even without SD card I get the error.
