Get the one on the pastebin, it adds a shitload of items and improves some troop trees. Check the minor mods in the taleworlds forums if you want changes like not getting cucked.

Hey, I'm playing brytenwalda and enjoying it a shit ton, but I've noticed literally every village except ones I have done quests for have -2 relation with me so I can't recruit in practically any village. Is it a bug or is there any easy fix so I can get them back to 0? I don't want to have to bribe every village I want to recruit from

I followed the instructions to installing the VC sub mod including dragging and dropping the resource files from the submod over the resource folder for VC. However I get this error during the map loading scene before the main menu. Any advice? Thank you.
Is this considered a sub folder? It's the only folder in the resource folder.

Haven't played mbw in well over a year, suddenly have the urge to pick it up again. What mods are you guys playing? I don't know which to roll with. I've already played A LOT of 1257 so what else is out there? How's ACOK?
I am not sure if the rest of the mod is working but the improved spear animations ie, upstab are not working. For example when two handing a spear, it's cutting attacks are still there and I am not able to upstap. The upstap is also not present when using a shield with a spear (pic related). I'm sorry for the trouble.

Just checked and apparently choosing to siege by building ladders just opens the gates anyway
It's not so much the animations I care about, it's how the horse barely clips a footsoldier and comes to a dead stop, barely damaging the footsoldier and not trying to change directions at all that I don't like. I wouldn't want to see a horse riding setup with a really autonomous horse like in SotC but I would love to see something better than what's in mountain blade now

I went around in one gameplay as a solo sellsword. I got so good at killing the NPCs that I started protecting villages for free. Once I got even better I started preventing entire sieges singlehandedly, until I got bored and solo took Swadia, the largest kingdom at the time.

Getting a weird problem in Hispania 1200.
Every day, at least 3-4 lords are accused of treason and exiled, and usually one or two will also switch kingdoms of their own accord.
Has anyone run into this before? Would there be a way to solve it by quick personal modding?
I only player singleplayer, but I think there's one massive MP opportunity that they'd be fools not to take; large scale, singleplayer-style battles with opposing players commanding AI armies. Why is this not already a thing?

Do you know how I would go about doing that on my own? I'm 50 hours into this save, and if I have to restart, I'm just going to put M&B down for another 6-12 months. I've modded other games on my own, but never M&B.
Fucking hell. The problem is, presumably, caused first by a few lords getting really pissed at fief assignments, then getting indicted, which pisses off other lords, who then eventually get indicted... but because it happens in every kingdom, all of them also have a steady supply of incoming lords who were indicted back home.
So, to prevent it, you just need to tackle the fief problem - which I did, just now, in TweakMB.
But the cascade has already started - there are dozens of pissed off lords who have shit relations with most kings. To solve this, I either have to disable indictments/defections, or restore good vassal-liege relations via save editing.
I'm looking into part 2, but with the most popular save editor, I can't find where lord opinions of each other are stored.
The only good slant-eye is a dead and/or proper catholic slant-eye.

Well shit, I was doing a test playthrough and all was going well until at one point I did some upgrades and suddenly I lost the options to filter by any troop type, which turned out to be because all troops were removed from my party. A little bit gamebreaking to have literally your entire party randomly disbanded I'd say.

That'd get complicated with the planets however, how would they be represented in a way that'd let you walk on them in the worldmap while still maintaining some sense of scale?
I tried to do it, but modmerger was being fucking weird and not working properly. When I add my files to the Silverstag source, it claims it can't find my scripts file. It doesn't even begin to make sense, since it finds my scripts file just fine when I'm just merging it with Diplomacy. I honestly have no clue where the problem could be coming from or how to fix it, so I don't know how long it'll be before it's possible. Shit sucks.
That I don't know. They could either make the planets really fucking small, so small that walking around on them would be kinda pointless exept to get to the plantations/mines/churches on them and forgo ground bases combat except for seiges and speceil events/quests.
or they could have planets be larger (with varieing size) and focus on a small part of the star wars map. Maybe they could put in a lot of choke points as "Hyperspace Routes" since the only way to travel from any place to another in star wars in already established/mapped routes anyway.

I can't tell in advance how compatible the code will be so I just have to pick ones to try, though there's the matter of what names should be used for various factions. PoP would probably be easy enough in that regard with most of names I'm using for Native being applicable (could grab a list of Scottish names for Ravenstern too), others I might not be so sure of.
If there are to be code compatibility issues, ones that were open sourced and not decompiled would probably be easier to sort out.

so the cattle follow you instead of you having to stand behind them and direct them. silverstag has this implemented and its soooooo fucking nice. silverstag also has the ability to let the player choose which quest they want from for example the guild master and from villages, so you can choose between the cattle quest or grain quest, or from the guildmaster the cargo quest or caravan escort quest, on top of guild master quests giving more denar reward than in vanilla game.
Warband is just not made for such big battles anon. Don't bother.
I got a similar rig and I get 13 foes in TLD sieges because the mod tries to shove 600+ troops on a map the size of a tavern.
I lost an old character who had 2k renown and a bit of right to rule to boot. I just can't get back into the game anymore, so I'm thinking of trying to get the character's progression back. The biggest problem, of course, is trying to get my relations back again. I know you can use the cheat to make lords like you (which wouldn't be an issue really if I could get my honour back) but there seems to be no quick way to get any other relations back, chiefly villages (towns lol who cares).

There's no way I was gonna upload the full 700+ MB with my shitty Australian internet, so it's actually just the text files and the WSE folder. There's instructions on what to do in the readme file, it's pretty straightforward; add WSE folder, copypaste and rename PoP folder to whatever the fuck you like and replace old text files with new ones. Make sure to launch with WSE. Do not launch with regular launcher. Do not attempt to play any old saves, this is definitely not save game compatible. Most importantly of all though,
have fun for however many minutes it lasts before breaking.

I'm new to the game and I love it and I'm really trying here, but I just don't fucking get how they expect me to build up any kind of an army in the beginning
any troop that isn't shit takes too much money to keep paid every week, food runs out way too fucking quick, I walk around swadia for like a fucking week before I find any looters or bandits to fight and try to get some money going, I have some captives but I can never find a fucking ransom guy to sell them too
how the fuck do I make any progress? is there some mod I can get that makes enemies spawn more often and makes ransom brokers easier to find?
also how is that blood in the west mod I'm a big lotr nut?
Tournaments are where all the money is. Win some while betting on yourself every round to get 4,000 denars and invest the winnings in enterprises; go to a town, walk the streets, find the guildmaster and say you're interested in buying land for a productive enterprise. Dyeworks are the best but they're 10,000 fucking denars, ironworks are a pretty solid alternative at 3,500. Once you get strong enough troops, you should go fight sea raiders for expensive loot (and hopefully you can take some prisoner to sell to ransom brokers too).
Try diplomacy, it has travelers with which you can ask where ransom brokers are.
As for difficulty, remember that cavalry is being paid twice as much. Buy enterprises and loot enemy villages to get easy cash. Prisoner skill is useful as you can get 1k from worst prisoners from Ramun the slave trader in Tihr.
Also, tournaments, bandit hideout quest and tax collection for lords is most lucrative.
When at war,raid villages, ransom kings (lords only if they are fuckwits), rob caravans..
Look for faction that have some war. Ask lords for quests. Someone gonna offer you to join them as a mercenary.
Being a mercenary provide many benefits:
-faction pay some of your wages, so soldiers are easier to pay
-you can loot enemy trade caravans and hunt their lords
-allied lords will assist you in fights
Also hunt bandits. Get one companion with high agility and invest in Looting for him(more items).
If you cant afford big party keep your soldiers on medium Tier.
When you get some cash buy some manufactures in cities.

What exactly is Fog of War and Troop skill difficulty in persino guys?
Fog of War makes it so you have to buy maps or find locations for stuff to be visible for you.
Not sure about the skill difficulty. Maybe it makes leveling troops harder or something.

Anyway first impression of this mod is mediocre. Half naked women walking in northern region, badly made armor and errors in texts (collect 5 villagers, but I need 10, recruitment in village says 2 villages are ready, but I get 4 and I pay for 4).

If anybody is playing the mod; either the Diplomacy or PoP version, I've made a small update (same links) that should be totally save game compatible. I haven't solved the bug I encountered that caused my entire party to randomly be disbanded, but I added some safeguards so that hopefully now it will instead give an error message and not dump the party. I also replaced the items txt file in the PoP version because the decompiled one meant shields were see-through instead of heraldic.

it actually forces you to role-play instead of just being perfect with 10+ in everything. if you want to have jesus-tier healing abilities it seems like that should come with a big tradeoff.
imo the best use of shields is with throwing weapons. especially heavy axes, you can fight effectively in melee and switch to throwing for 2handers/archers.

Can AI lords be bankrupted by constant warfare, and end up fielding tiny armies? Or are they cheating pieces of shit who just spawn with predetermined stacks of troops after they're released/escape?
yep, they aren't amazing or common, but they're in there. most were implemented as 1h/2h axes, and there are some 2h axes and the 2h sword.
When I play I like to set some restrictions. For example if I play as Swadian I only use swadian gear, or if Norse in VQ I use only norse gear. Are the introduced 2h's and such thematically norse, or specific to other factions?
I'd like to pick through what remains of that Wheel of Time mod and make my own thing. Problem is the setting. While I respect what the original devs were trying to do and the work they put into it, setting the mod to be played during the course of the events of the actual books was a bad move. Warband and linear narrative storytelling do not mix.
Maybe set it during the War of 100 Years, or the Trolloc Wars. Or even before that, during Hawkwing's conquest of the Westlands. But then you run into the problem of people not recognizing the setting anymore.
I dunno. I just really like the channeling system they managed to get implemented.

Kinda both. It also depends on if the campaign ai setting is on hard. They get like 750 base gold per week and then their fief income gets added on top of it.
Lords hafta pay for reinforcements and that cost is lowered by campaign setting. They only get reinforced once or twice again depending on the setting. They also don't get high tier troops, they train their reinforcements into that.

since when sometimes creating units with 1h+shield and 2h weapons, they sometimes don't spawn with both because the engine sometimes doesn't spawn them with two weapons flagged as primary....
...... wouldn't an easy fix simply be to create a carbon copy of the item in question, flag it as secondary, and thus make it so the troop in question only has 1 primary and 1 secondary weapon, which he always spawns with due to no engine limitation?

if you flag a weapon as secondary only the AI will spawn with it and a primary weapon, but they'll be unable to use their secondary weapon
basically weapons with just the secondary item flag cannot be equipped

dunno, but if you flag an item with primary and secondary then the unit will spawn with either one of their primary weapons or that weapon
only mods i've seen incorporate proper sidearms is 1257, it seems to force equip troops that can spawn with a polearm or a one handed weapon to always spawn with at least one of those, since spearmen work properly in that mod
and VC does a similar thing too
also even if they do spawn with a primary and secondary, they'll swap between the two incessantly if it's a native mod, they don't seem to do that in VC/1257
so what i do is just make them only able to have that primary weapon, ie spearmen use just spears and shields
Considering most people who know about Wheel of Time/have read it woudl know about Hawkwing, the trolloc wars, or any other big time of strife, I think you'd be fine.
Could put it just moments after Lews Therin tries to seal the bore and the time of madness occurs. Making roaming bands of bandits into rogue male Aes Sedai who are batshit insane. That would work with Warband's chaotic nature, since it would be a time of falling kingdoms, wars breaking out, and channeling rampantly used.
On the topic of mods for viking conquest, are there mods that:
- Allow me to move while looting like in vanilla
- Makes trainer skill more useful
- Adds more armour and weapon variety

Reading a guide on implementing 1h upstab, it says to implement it I need to do all the actions that are needed for upstab with 2h spears (no shield)
Sure somebody else has done this, but how do I add JUST 1h upstab? I am perfectly fine with overhead swings for polearms and spears, but having only 1 attack for your spear with shield is not nice (plus AI suffers from it)

Well if you're not going to install python and use the module system, the only "modding" you should expect to do is tweaking a few numbers with Morgh's Editor or TweakMB. Just install those two things and look around at what you can change.
I still want to make my own Wheel of Time mod with TGS as a base that gives you a set amount of time (500-1000 days probably) to unite as much of the land as possible before Tarmon Gaidon hits and shadowspawn flood the land in overwhelming numbers.

Holy fuck Rhodoks be steamrolling everything in Floris. We only fought a war with the Sarranids for like a week (after a month-long war that conquered almost all of Swadia that the Nords didn't already take), but we managed to abscond with a city, a castle, and six or so villages before a peace treaty was signed.
I wish I played Rhodoks earlier. This is just cruising.
