Reminder that all /vg/ generals eventually die, in spirit or body.
Pretty sure this version looks a bit nicer
I'm going crazy guys.
My last big session had no lag problems - for once, I was able to play my campaign without any frustration. But the game is back to being a laggy piece of shit today.
So, I know it's probably not a hardware problem, and it isn't savegame corruption, because it's the same damn save I've been playing every time.
What kind of software conflict could be causing this? I used task manager to shut down every unnecessary process that WOULD shut down, but it didn't affect the game at all.
new year's day is one week after christmas, and my birthday is one week after new year's day. Every year! Took me 20 years to figure that out.
Anyway, happy new years /mbg/, here's to bannerlord in 2016
It never uses more than 10% of my CPU at the worst. Not even sure I've seen it rise above 5%.
Pic taken just after shutting down M&B in a battle.
check to see if you have load textures on demand off, turn it on if it's off
check to see if you have pixel shaders on, turn it off if it's on
all the other "optimization fixes" i've seen on threads are shit like put the game on dx7, but fuck that
Lots of things to think of anon.
How's or what make is your GPU?
Updated drivers? Updated Nvidia drivers hates MB and consider it a dinosaur and thus no longer supports it.
Tried turning off certain options in video?
How about your battle size?
nah senpai the higher the better
How are these odds, considering Count Raichs is a little bitch and won't join the defense?
Already turned all that down, and it still lagged. I don't know what caused that brief period of playability, but I had turned off the main performance hog features long before then.
Radeon 270. Not Nvidia, so no problem from that.
Battle size is at 80, but I get the same lag on the campaign map, in massive siege battles, and when fighting against just 4 bandits.
I doubt drivers are an issue anyway. The period of playability occurred out of nowhere just a day or two ago, and went away just as fast.
Does toucan add stupid shit? the two mods I mentioned felt like they feel victim to severe feature creep, Silverstag especially. Tired too hard to reinvent the game instead of just improving it.
To the creator of the totally bodacious submods in the OP: what do I do with the module.ini? In your instruction for installing the mod, it is none of the categories you mentioned that need to be placed in the module folder. Thank you.
Make me, faggot.
>Blood & Gold: Caribbean
>finally gets a mod
>it is a cheat mod
Nah man, I was playing floris and silverstag before but I'm going to try.
Empire III (looks like shit)
The only time I've ever been to reddit was trying to troubleshoot a problem I was having with a version of DF. I avoid it like the plague. There just seems to be lots of mods to try that are still being devved. I have no idea whether the mod makers are massive faggots or not since I don't read the forums.
>mfw Brainy Bots
How the Hell do you do that stagger thing they do?
Does the feasting meme apply to all swadians? I am in a lords army and he hasn't moved except to kill a few shitty bandits despite being at war with just about everyone. Is the AI that poor?
What is chambering?
And I tired kicking them back but it didn't do anything.
Just started playing PoP and got a few questions
Is there a version of manhunters or which faction has blunt infantry?
How do I increase my relationship with the noldor?
How do i increase my stats apart from leveling? I was told there as a way to do it
They do have manhunters, but only the Sheriff troop type has all blunt weapons. You get Sheriffs from upgrading Wardens which in turn you get from recruiting Town Militia from taverns.
You increase relations with treefuckers by either helping them in battle or knocking them in the head and releasing them as prisoners by talking to them.
You want qualis gems for increasing stats, there's a free one in the treasure chest at Rane.
>How do I increase my relationship with the noldor?
>consorting with elves
>leading the Knights of Eventide, defeat the Dread Legion
>Maltise has most certainly not managed to escape
>remember here that, banished, she may surrender her armour
>it's pretty sweet-looking armour
>not the greatest protection though, given that it hasn't even any modifier
>coax the Snake Cult crafting secrets out of her instead
>the Knights of the Honeyed Polyhedron from Senderfall have assembled a war party to assist the Kingdom of Pendards!
>a hundred and fifty knights and sergents, all in Asp Armour
>dialogue options are to compliment them on their friendly faces or, somehow, to attack
>that armour and red capes would sure look good on companions, maybe prevent one from, it was an accident!, shooting them in the back all the time
>"Your pathetic order serves a false master! To arms!"
>(nevermind that the master in question is yrstruly)
>sixty adventurer heroes and heroines, we can take them
>There are 3 items in the item pool
>two cracked helms and a shield
Mind that beyond a certain amount of reputation with the Noldor (20? 25? don't remember) you can't attack them anymore, so going with the prisoner option you would have to capture enough of them beforehand.
I only remember the Doomguards consistently getting maces, but that's above your head for now.
I wish this toaster could handle 400 units in the field at once, let alone 900. I totally would, though, but then I'd really be wishing for stuff like burning oil to pour on people.
In banner lord i want to be able to kill my prisoners outside of a town to demoralize the enemies.
the medieval period is renowned for executions and gruesome deaths, i don't know why there's no option currently for something like that
hell by the Renaissance every town had a weapon that was made specifically for delivering punishment
I would like help with Order commands, quickly if possible.
Is there anyway I can create a smaller group, say 10 soldiers, that follow my order? While I give the rest 90 soldiers the order to fall back 10 paces.
I want 10 bodyguards.
Ah shit my next character is going to be Lord Summerisle.
because it's a two handed pole weapon designed for infantry combat, and it would be too unwieldy to be used on horseback due to its weight and they're designed to thrust and cut
Look for hafted blades, you can use those on horesback if you wanted to slash with polearms.
I can only think of Naginatas (which the hafted blade is similar to) as polearms that were really used on horseback.
You guys fight on more than one plane of existence right?
Oh this explains it... I had to fight in their dreamspace because they were all unconscious.
I know. The black w/ gold trim and brushed steel ones look better but the gold has the best stats.
Why is it in every game you have to choose style OR stats? Why can't we have both?
They just compleaty changed the file system though to make it esier to mod though...
>Today, along with the new update, we're also releasing the updated module system we've talked about in this post[snowbirdgames.com], with the detailed guide for modders with everything they should know about it. This module system is more refined than the original Warband's and includes a number of important improvements that will make creating mods considerably easier.
>Here's an excerpt from the guide's introduction:
>Why we created this system? As you should know, typical Warband module consists several entities – triggers, scripts, troops, items, dialogs, presentations, etc. Because each of those entities are simply Python array consisting from several other arrays, it is very inconvenient to make or track changes in those files. In general, it leads to lot of mistakes and clutters code flow, because not only you have to find function you need in a file which contains more than 100,000 lines, but also you should write you code as an array. This significantly slows down development. Also it is almost impossible to develop module using several programmers/designers and any version control system because all the changes are made to single file it is impossible to apply changes simultaneously even if you are working with different scripts, for example.
>Because we have experience developing several tools we decided to simplify existing system by splitting most important entities into their logical elements – for example, every script can be in its own file or menus can have shared triggers without need to copying code thus reducing copy/paste behavior. Also it is possible to simply add your own functions to existing module without the need to modify module itself thus giving abilities to create libraries which can be shared between different modules. And of course it makes possible to use version control systems – SVN or Git for example.
i just opened blood and gold singleplayer fine with morgh's
pretty sure that shit's for more in depth modding anyway like scripts
Is the Empire faction in PoP decent? I was thinking of joining them because their knighthood orders sound good, but the wiki kind of implies they're shit (needing to mix troops, use formations, etc)
Oh. Cool. Major question though. Will the edits I make show up in game I'm already playing or do I have to start a new one?
Awesome. Thank you.
YO HO HO.
Changing what values affects AI performance against other AI in autocalculated battles? I'm playing Silverstag and the Vaegir don't follow the same tier formula as the other factions, so they get overall worse units and get destroyed in AI autocalculated battles. I intend to change this so they don't get wiped out so easily.
Changing what values will make them perform better? I just upped all their weapon proficiencies for all troops by a flat value of 25, will that make them better? What else can I change to make them better?
Would that work with bayonets?
How would I go about turning upstab on?
the animation code is in so it should just work by putting the item flag on it
so go to a weapon you want to put upstab on in morgh's, look at the capabilities column, remove the overswing_polearm flag if it's using it, scroll to the bottom of the column, check the overswing_spear flag, click update, then save and launch caribbean and see if it's working properly
if it isn't, then there's a guide in the OP on how to implement upstab
but when i played caribbean i remembered they already had it in, but it isn't the preferred version (the y axis is locked so you can't aim it well)
you do need to mix troops with them but if you do they're pretty good
just put infantry in the front, crossbowmen in the back and you're fine
xbows, shadow legion and gladiators are great
the rest is ok
I guess I may as well try it, I was hoping I would be able to see if someone could give me some pros or cons. I'm looking for a mod that I would be able to play with my friends that had some sense of progression
>tfw you usher in the new year by crushing Swadia
How do I start a war? Do I just go ahead and do it or can I talk the lords into it? I haven't seen the option, they're fine being the richest motherfuckers on the block but we only have one city and that's no good.
finally managed to start a new game
my god do the assets in this game look bad
$3.74 on steam right now. Worth it if I've never even played bretenwaldia?
When u getting all the oriental waifus in ur clan
actually i don't mind the face, it looks reasonably decent for a mount&blade game, don't want no anime waifus
the problem is that the buildings and clothing look so fucking bad
Holy shit, why does everybody utterly despise each other?
People don't like talking to me with -8 relations, there's two fucking lords with -100 relation to their liege and they aren't deliberately hostile to them. How do you even get this mad?
Every time a lord loses a battle, they get mad at their king. Every single time the king grants a fief, most lords get pissed off that it wasn't given to them and again get mad at the king. This inevitably leads to must lords despising their kings, with the exceptions being the good-natured ones that actually don't get mad over these things (or at least not over giving away fiefs).
>not using jarids for that mad damage
Those are headshots on naked head so it would be instakill with axes or javelins and maybe even darts. With javelin and throwing axe I can hit easily 5/5. 80% even if a target is very far away and I have to snipe it(with javelins, axes are much harder to snipe with but much easier to hit someone at medium/near distance).
But with Jarids it's just a gamble if it's gonna fly where you want it to fly. At least you get 7 darts so you can spam them.
>Bannerlord might just get released in your lifetime
I can only hope that battles on ice in Bannerlord will look like the picture in this post.
I think they even improved compared to older screenshots imo
page 10 bump
So I've never into modding M&B
what are some essentials
So... is my save corrupted? Everytime I load my save it quits the game.
I'm playing the new version of PoP, and strange things happened before I quit playing last time, most of my troops were naked
Yikes, most likely save game corrupted indeed.
I take it you play with autosaves?
Try checking your backup save located in documents/Mount&Blade Warband Savegames/mod namewhathaveyou
and rename last_savegame_backup.sav to the your save game (eg sg00.sav or sg01.sav or so). Make backups of both before you do so, but either way it might not work since the last_savegame backup might have been overwritten already with a corrupted save.
Doesn't work, but thanks, now I know why you guys refer to this mod as PooP.
That's very weird, just one day?
Save game corruption is bound to happen to anyways, so best to have multiple saves and manually backing saves once in a while (or after every game session if you're a stickler).
Will Bonerlords finally get rid of enemies hitting you THROUGH each other? Shit was really annoying and the main reason some shitty 5 bandits can overpower my endgame characters sometime.
Who knows? Maybe?
The Turks did talk about tweaking attack calcs regarding weapon length etc since you can make your own weapons now and change their length to your preferences.
Well they said they'll introduce new mechanics as well as polishing the ones already in Warband so there is good hope that they might fix it.
On the other hand there is more urgent fixing imo mostly shields hitboxes and AI spear wielding
what's your favorite weapon anon?
Used to, but the only regiments I found that weren't spouting memes or literally autistic were actually tough to get into.
Been a while since I played NW but if you just want line battles, you could join one of the huge ass regiments that accept everyone and just show up 5 minutes before events. 63e is probably still massive, they took up an entire team during battles pretty consistently.
Hey guys, l'm new to blood and steel, what should l do first?
Should l focus on trying to get as much entreprises as l can and prepare for doom (if someone can tell me what doom is l'd be happy) or should l do something else?
And now ... Bears.
What's next ? Wolves ? Birds ?
I want to do a playthrough with 1/4 damage but conquering Calradia in 180 days while listening to this soundtrak.
I have a few hundred hours in Warband but I always feel like I miss a step in the power progression at the beginning
>fighting looters and shit
>now have about 40 troops
>looters barely pay for upkeep and upgrading anymore
>become mercenary for one faction and start looting shit
The problem with that is that I have to run from even the lowliest enemy lord because my troops are so shit
Is there some step between fighting bandits and fighting lords?
Did you forget about mountain bandits, forest bandits and, once you're strong enough, sea raiders?
Quest's give tons of xp early on much more than fighting
ignore shit quest's though that aren't fun
and as this anon >>127157185
said you'll want to kill all kinds of bandits while doing said quests
I tend to only do clearing bandit hideout and rescue prisoner quests, they give good relations, xp, loot and even honor. Though you don't want to destroy a hideout if you're still farming the guy running around it since the hideout increases their spawn rate (though if you're going away for a bit you can do so, since it will respawn)
It's filled with some random dumb things like the massive bandit hordes (they can be kind of fun to take down, but they fuck up the game world and AI lords can't really deal with them), iirc there's some really ridiculous black something or other unit in the Khergits lands and it completely fucks with the aesthetics of the game. It makes the overworld map dark and ugly and it teleports Rhodoks into the 15/14th century and sends Nords back to the 10th century and other shit (while giving their armors equally good stats too iirc).
In contrast to native where factions are significantly closer to being on an equal level in terms of time even though there are anachronisms and silly things.
I just tried out floris mod for the first time, but my first game went pretty badly. Just running from village to village to recruit volunteers I constantly got hit by parties of 30 bandits, even by 20 fully equipped deserters within the first few days. I couldnt keep any recruits alive long enough to upgrade them more than once or twice.
Any good tips on what I should do at the start to not get rekt by massive bandit hordes and roaming parties?
Also stats, skill proficiencies and shit are kinda bloated compared to native. This can potentially be a good thing since it makes opponents stronger, but it does get kinda ridiculous. The highest tier Nord troop in Floris expanded troop tree has double the one-handed proficiency of Huscarls and it's about 3 times the proficiency of player infantry in multiplayer.
Good for you.
>join populated server
>two guys in armor waiting for me
>"give me your money"
>tell them to fuck off because I just spawned
I just gave up and uninstalled floris, parties of 30 bandits literally right outside the starting city, money lending not working so I couldnt get mercenaries, tournaments literally unwinnable because your team is always retarded. Who the fuck was the mongoliod responsible for the balancing in that mod, its not possible to go longer than 5 minutes without being taken prisoner and losing everything you have.
I'm not going to say Floris is balanced, because it isn't, but from what you're saying you just sound like a scrub.
If Floris was impossible to play it wouldn't be as popular as it is.
>have the version of mount and blade available on steam, whatever version number that is.
I was messing around with Diplomacy 4.3; (the one available on the mount and blade forums)..
I added the crouching and upstab from the OP, it all works for the most part..
but I did something extra.
>noticed that nomad-armor was unreasonably effective(24 body armor) despite weighing only 2.0 "units"(forget if it's kg. or lb.).
>edited it so it was like 16 body armor and weighted 3 or 4 units.
would you anon's be interested in me uploading it?
>and you better armor within a few hours.
and you get better armor within a few hours*
A lot (or at least some) modders are waiting for Bannerlord to come out to continue modding.
So I'm playing Silverstag and it seems the Vaegir lords suffer from smaller army sizes (between 60-100) compared to lords from other factions, and it's primarily due to this that the Vaegir are being destroyed in autocalculated battles against other factions.
Does anyone know what might be causing this, and how to fix this?
I did and I altered them to have similar numbers to the Swadians, but with less cavalry and more archers. According to Windyplains the mod creator:
>''The Vaegirs main failing in auto-calculations is that they get hit twice with smaller army sizes. This is something I'll need to balance again for them as it puts them at a significant disadvantage.''
I asked him if that was due to party templates but, it doesn't seem like it. So I don't know.
Woden is our God! He guides our way. Warrior, what do you need?
I'm playing it right now, it's pretty cool though it suffers from crazily strong and armored units that in my opinion mess with the game's aesthetic a bit. Floris suffers from this.
The minor factions are what make the mod interesting to me. I'm playing as a religious zealot serving in Harlaus' army, though I plan on joining the Sun Crusaders soon. They've been gathering followers and have a pretty sizable army.
While we were storming Veluca the Highlanders grouped together to "reclaim their ancestral homeland" and took one of our castles. Curious to see what'll happen with them.
Also, word of warning: combat is significantly harder. More health for everybody really fucks the player over in terms of your killing potential, and there are a lot of units that are nearly untouchable because of their armor. Kings' armies in particular have elite bodyguard units that can kick your shit in.
So I learned I can alter party sizes in scripts.txt, but the problem is that specifically the Vaegir lords have smaller party sizes than should (some of them, about half of them).
Anyone know how to fix this?
nooby here, im playing unmodded vanilla warband and I am a vassal of the nords with a big town, a village, and a castle. Im getting a little burned out already, so I have a few questions. Is being a vassal only worth it in the beginning? Is it time to split off and forge my own kingdom? Also are there any must have mods that I should look into
Forging your own kingdom takes a bit of planning, you; ie you need to set up business in other towns and have a sizable army ready.
Though you know what, go ahead and make your own kingdom. Better to learn by doing.
As for mods, read their descriptions and try out anything that catches your fancy.
I hate it when people do this. It's obvious you know these things and I don't, you can use terminology that would allow me to understand what you mean, or you can keep using the lingo that people who know what you do understand but people who don't, don't understand.
Yeah, what is a ''module system'', do you mean Morgh's Editor?
Because it's impossible to google these things right? The module system is a set of files used to make mods. You could have figured that out yourself extremely easily with a quick search. You're complaining about "terminology" and "lingo" that you don't understand, but I just used the fucking name of the tool I recommended, how the fuck else am I meant to phrase it? Did you complain like this when somebody first told you about Morgh's Editor because you weren't familiar with that lingo?
Morgh's Editor doesn't imply the same thing as the name ''Module system'' does. ''Module system'' is hardly what I'd imagine a program be called, but yes I did google and figure it out and I downloaded it.
I still don't know why some Vaegir lords have smaller army sizes though, I don't think I can fix something without understanding why it's like that in the first place.
Thanks. Also when I was last here in august there was a anon working on expanding nipland adventures by adding more Caribbean! items and Gaijin troops. Did they ever get released?
Where can I go to watch warband being played on normal difficulty or higher?
I just want to see how other people play but keep finding people playing on easy where you may as well be playing slightly harder dynasty warriors
i don't think there's really any approved channels for warband since they're usually garbage or it's just esports stuff
i remember a guy was shilling his channel every thread for a bit but he gave up
Ah. It's in the "mods and upstab" not in the pastebin that's why I couldn't find it. thank you.
Are you talking about mine? (pic related) or another anons? Not sure if I ever shared mine though I did find and am still hosting the missing chick files for the original nipland adventures.
Yours you just drag and drop over geko 3.1 right?
oh, yeah i am talking about yours
i never updated the original nipland since i thought the consensus was that geko 3.1 beta was better
and when i started actually playing geko i enjoyed 3.1 more, so i just changed my submod for that one
lolimodwork with your version of nipland?
Holy shit, it worked, I'm literally a hacker. I don't need a serial anymore.
>tfw find a fantasy mod i'd have fun rp-ing in
>tfw don't know how to edit weapon stats
I don't have any idea what i'm doing. Can someone help me? I want to change damages for a couple of weapons added by the mod.
change module settings
click text compiled files
change the directory to the module you want to edit
open the item editor
scroll down to the items you want to edit
edit them one at a time, after you're done editing each one then click update
after you've done them all update the last one then save changes and exit
You want to install Morgh's Tools anon.
It's pretty straight forward.
Just ask if you have questions regarding weapon flags or so.
And don't forget, it's always change stats, UPDATE item, and then save changes.
Alright thanks. My only major city is Dhirim, so trade there is pretty bad. Is there a way to increase the trade incentive for my city? Sabotaging other cities caravans perhaps? Any tips appreciated
Playing on native or with mods?
In any case raiding other caravans can actually hurt you in the long run.
What you really want to do is make sure that caravans reach Dhirim. So that means a lot of tedious work via patrolling hunting down bandit bands and or enemy lords.
When the game notices that it's not activated, the instruction 'JZ SHORT 005CD729' jumps to the code where it brings up the register window. I just replaced that with 'nop' (no operation, basically, do nothing) and it continued and started the game.
That's what I think is happening anyway, really I suck at reading assembly and just tried replacing all the jump instructions till I found the right one.
It would be a lot more complicated if I didn't have the base game activated (which I, luckily, found a valid serial key in youtube comments, lol), since it has a trial mode
Since its the middle of the map and everyone seems to be at war with everyone else, its pretty regularly getting the towns around it pillaged and burned, and loads of enemy lords around. Also its the lowest producing and highest crime ridden
Yep, Dhirim is a real piece of work. Quite a fun capital though if you're just starting your kingdom since everyone will siege the shit outta of it.
Good place to establish a bakery or brewery as well since grain is cheap there.
I don't know about a star, but I could put in a checkbox to mark one as a favourite or something and then an option to show just the favourites. Gonna add a drop down box to select troop type to filter by as well (e.g. Swadian Recruit).
Holy fucking shit people aren't kidding when they say Swadia sucks ass- my first time playing as the Rhodoks in Floris, and the Swadians have gotten their asses kicked in a month of war with the Nords and Rhodoks in a joint alliance. The Nords sacked Praven, and meanwhile us Rhodoks have seized all the other Swadian cities and are now in the process of mopping up their castles.
My high surgery rating has also paid off. I've been using most of the same mercs I hired at the start of the war, they're all veterans now, and my warband kicks the shit out of any Swadian army we encounter.
>When I was a lad I ate four dozen eggs
>Ev'ry morning to help me get large
>And now that I'm grown I eat five dozen eggs
>So I'm roughly the size of a barge!
>Oh, ahhh, wow!
>My what a guy, that Gaston!
>No one shoots like Gaston
>Makes those beauts like Gaston:
>Then goes tromping around wearing boots like Gaston!
>Swadia sucks ass
Say that to me in my larder and not on the battlefield peasant and we'll see who sucks what.
Some vaegir lords have ''smaller army sizes'' more often than lords from other factions, which makes them suck in Silverstag against other AI.
It isn't caused by party templates, which I've already played around with
PLEASE HELP HOW DO I FIX THIS
No they definetly have lower max party size. There's Vaegir lords running around with 100 troops, some with 60. And this is by day 4 in Silverstag.
Also the creator of Silverstag wrote:
>The Vaegirs main failing in auto-calculations is that they get hit twice with smaller army sizes. This is something I'll need to balance again for them as it puts them at a significant disadvantage.
i was just wondering if there's something we can do meanwhile, until he puts the fix in the next version of the mod
It's nothing to do with flags, they need to be between the first mercenary troop and the one called mercenaries end. If you do this via just text file editing, it will fuck everything up. It's need to be done using the module system.
rhodoks in floris are even more OP than native, the modders must have a hardon for epic xbow sniper armies or something. and on top of that you get infinite free money from the ridiculous landowning system, why cant modders stop making the game easier?
native with no companions best game
i think it's the fact people believe the meme that crossbows were armor killing machines or something
really if there was a faction in native that had muskets then they should be the heavy ranged hitters but have shitty melee
that'd be kind of neat for a faction actually
So have they fixed Viking Conquest?
I heard it was super buggy when it released, and it's on sale for like $4 or so, so I imagine it should be worth it by now, especially at that price, but I'd like to ask how it is. Is it much fun?
>tfw steam sales happen and servers are filled with even more shitters than normal
Planning to add upgrade buttons next.
So I'm only a couple hours into Nova Aetas but I think this is my favorite mod so far. There's so much shit to do and it manages to be different and coherent without being fucking retarded (a ton of the fantasy mods end up being retarded because of poorly made models and shit). That being said maybe the late game is bad, I don't know about that, but I'm loving it so far.
>Get Floris source
>Look for something along the lines of (spawn_around_party,":spawn_point","pt_black_khergit_horsemen")

>>Remove try block it's contained in, i.e. code starting with (try_begin) and ending with (try_end)
One more time please, in Simple English this time so stoopid caveman understand please.
Get a load of this fearsome warrior.
Guys I want to play as a Vaegir vassall in Silverstag mod but their lords spawn with lower max party size than lords from other faction due to some bug or something.
I'm really craving some rus action on Silverstag right now.
If I can't specifically fix that issue, is there something else I can do to artificially fix imbalanced caused between the Vaegirs and other factions? What happens if I increase the numbers of troops on the party templates for the Vaegirs, they'll recruit more soldiers per minute while waiting in castles and towns when filling up their parties, right?
You can always give them better reinforcements(which mean that their forces will be better quality) or boost their troops(give them levels so they are better in autocalc). or both.
Code can be added here to increase the limits however you want for Vaegir lords, assuming source code is available for the version of Silverstag you're playing.
Oh wait, I think that's for player only. I got confused because it mentioned AI, but it was just saying you get the same king bonus as AI kings. I'll see if there is one for AI lords.
Man I don't know the basics of coding. There's no way I'd manage this through adding code to .. wherever that is.
I'll do it now and see if that's the issue. If it is, how would I go about increasing their renown and/or leadership skills, and can I do it through morghs?
Your options are ultimately to increase leadership skills and/or increase kingdom reinforcement sizes. Those are doable with Morgh's. If you want to change the party limits or renown values, I can assure you that that will not be possible without at least basic coding. Those are dynamic values that can't just be set in one of the text files, you would need to modify a script in the game's programming language. Good luck.
It's gonna be good. Now, while I try to solve the text for ants problem, what do people think about the layout of these buttons, just in terms of making it look nice? Should I have them spread out like the Previous/Exit/Next ones, move them to the left maybe, attempt to stack vertically somewhere? Or is it fine as is?
So it seems the issue is not the leadership stat or renown, all seems as it should be. The pattern for leadership is that there's roughly 4 lords with 3 leadership, 4 with 5, 4 with 6, 4 with 7, and 4 with 9, and that's roughly the case for all the lords from all the factions. and all their renown is also between 300-900. and they didn't exactly lack in fiefs either.
i have no fucking idea what it is that causes smaller party sizes for them more often than for other lords but, whatever, i'm increasing all their leadership skills to 7 if it's under 7, the overall troop quality is shit anyways
All I want is for the game to autocalculation to be balanced, so I can play the game knowing I'm not playing down or uphill
Autocalc will never be balanced anon.
Nah you can just increase it. However it's worth nothing that charisma also increases party size (for player at least, probably also for lords) and isn't limited to 10. You should be able to put it up to like 1000 for huge parties. Will need to start a new game for it to take effect though, same with leadership.
Well then by raising charisma by roughly 30-50 for all the vaegir lords, that should place them roughly on par with the other lords then. Some of the vaegir lords without this issue will be fielding larger armies then but that's fine because the overall troop quality of the vaegirs is slightly lower than the other factions.
Okay, I raised all the Vaegir lords charisma to 56, they should all be able to have roughly ~20-40 more soldiers each now, depending on their charisma previously. Some lords had as little as 60 soldiers so that would only bring those up to 100 now, which is still lower than normal, but the increased amount of soldiers for the lords with normal troops should help balance that out.
FeelsGoodMan it's time to play some mount & blade warband now FeelsGoodMan
Just add 1-2 levels to all units. Or add 1-2 levels to basic units(so they level faster to higher tier and increase their worth in autocalc) plus give them bigger numbers in reinforcements(or give them some additional small number of higher tiered units).
Lol I dunno, I got a list of like 900 French names and have it choose randomly from that for Swadians.
What he looted, yes, who from and when not really. That would definitely be neat and I've thought about it before, but storing all that info for every single looted item is a bit much.
>or give them some additional small number of higher tiered units).
Ah yeah I think I'll do this to increase their effectiveness in field battles and sieges aswell, as they're also lacking in that field.
Are you sure that is not connected to that they have plenty of wars and take huge losses on battlefields? So poor lords regain their strength slower? Their soldiers are lower quality so they get beaten more often and lose more troops.
Well the main dev of the mod i'm using himself said that vaegir lords apparently suffer twice the amount of ''lower army sizes'', I'm not sure exactly what he meant but that's in accordance to what i've seen
another thing that triggers my autism besides these vaegir lords is how certain troops don't always spawn with the weapons in their inventory despite there not being any contradictions there. for example a 2h no shield polearm, a 1h sword, and a shield, sometimes they don't spawn with all of them, and only with either the shield+1h sword or just the polearm, this hinders so much... my god..
If he wanted them to just have one specific weapon then sure, but he's saying he wants them to always have a primary weapon AND a sidearm. The game will probably just randomly determine whether they have one, the other or both and I don't think much can be done about it.
Which of the following do you guys think is preferable? When there are troops ready to upgrade, you can choose ANY named troop to upgrade even if they didn't do jack shit in battle; or the upgrade option is only given to the more experienced ones that upgrade by default if you just do it from the party screen?
With the latter, the big difference between upgrading from the party screen and upgrading from the troop pages is that you can actually pick which upgrade path each named troop follows. Maybe one of the Swadian Militia has been doing real well with a crossbow and you find it appropriate to make him a Skirmisher rather than a Footman, etc. With the former it just might come across kinda retarded that the guy who wasn't even present in any battles can be upgraded and then the option disappears for somebody else that killed 10 enemies last battle because you've used up your upgrades. Would any of you care about that?
Alright, cool. That's how it is already so no extra work needed.
Oh and >>127214294, there are worse names than Advent.
Will we get religions in Bannerlord, like Semitic and Germanic paganism, Zoroastrianism, and Wicca? Hopefully no Christianity, since Christianity is weak and caused the fall of the Roman Empire in the first place.
What year do you think Bannerlord is taking place in?
Is this bait?
The fall of Roman empire was caused by degeneracy, social apathy, welfare state, destruction of family unit and middle class, feminization of native Roman population and influx of foreigners. Christianity was at last of it problems.
In truth Christianity was a thing that at last save some of the Roman Empire.
Why would it be bait? I'm sure the more Celtic-like faction in Bannerlord would practice Witchcraft, and therefore be Wiccan.
Deus Vult was used to oppress the Jews, Muslims, and even other Christians that lived in the East. Don't use it.
No, Christianity caused it. The Roman Empire was doing fine, but when Constantine adopted it? About two hundred years later, the Western Roman Empire fell. Eastern Roman Empire? About two hundred years after that, they lose all of their territory. Christianity made the Roman Empires weak, and Christianity oppressed others.
Wicca was made up in the 20th century you dumb gullible fuck, kill yourself jesus christ. Celtic polytheism is something entirely different.
And Semitic, Germanic paganism and Zoroastrianism will be pretty much irrelevant by Bannerlord's timeframe (1057), though that doesn't make it entirely impossible that they wouldn't be included if Taleworlds should choose to include religion (which I doubt).
>Wicca is just modern Celtic paganism. It's fine to include it.
Wicca is not just modern Celtic paganism and even if it was there'd be no reason to call it Wicca in-game. They wouldn't be practising "modern Celtic paganism" (or really, neopaganism), they'd be practising actual Celtic polytheism. But that's beside the point, Wicca is absolutely not a synonym for Celtic polytheism.
