No, it just has disgustingly high damage modifiers untricked. My guess would be that they tried to balance it to be still useful if you were a pure blt build.

Considering that it also has as much str scaling as a kirkhammer, I'd hate to see the untricked form on a pure strength build.

I like bloodborne thematically and story-wise but i was never able to enjoy it gameplay wise as much as i liked the games in the Souls series.

I'm just running 40/40 str/skl with full 27%'s. As long as you can get your first hit, your damage output snowballs pretty hard. The R2s do pretty heavy damage, and with beast mode, hitting with the jump attack does close to 600. Plus it's just fun, so there's that too.

exactly, which is why most people would just use a rifle spear on a pure skill build with only 10 BLT, because physical 27.2 increase the damage of the bullets as, and obviously if they only used BLT gems they wouldn't benefit the melee attacks.

What would bowblade be like on a pure skill build? I know the bow form would be basically useless but the fact that it gets an S in skill makes me think it could be better than most skill weapons in its transformed form, and the long range backstabs from the bow would make atleast some use of the bow form i guess and i think would pair well with rakuyo maybe. Anyone had any experience with bowblade on a pure skill build?

It's a skill tinge build, jack wagon (i.e. bow blade and chikage). If you want to rely only on blood modes (which is what I would do) then you lower skill to 15 and raise str to 14, but then it's not a skill tinge build anymore.

Also 45 vit is all you need. You'll still have over 1200 HP as a phantom.

The difference between 40 and 50 Blt is around 30 AR.

None of these are major compromises.

Having troubles with Unseen Village. How exactly do the bell ladies work? Do they spawn new enemies constantly unless you kill them? I keep trying to rush through to find them but end up being swarmed by 20 guys. Should I kill every enemy one at a time or do I need to find them fast? The sound of the bell is putting pressure on me and I'm not sure if I need to be rushing the way I am.

Has anyone tried this before to keep Djura friendly?

Host goes to the door shortcut down some buildings and summons. Cooperator waits on the other side of the door shortcut and is hopefully summoned on that side and opens it. Then the host could go beat BSB and head back to Djura without ever stepping foot across the bridge and getting warned.

I'm assuming Djura isn't initially hostile at least.

The issue is that if you don't kill him you don't get his sweet armor, also most people assume he's hostile because he shoots at you and is hostile before the bloodmoon

Overall not a bad guy, but it's better to just murder him for his stuff.

I just started the game. I killed Amelia, made my way through the forest, met up with Patches, got the Arcane and Bolt gem from near the clinic and in that place where Patches sent me. I also got a two Fire Gems from Chalice Dungeons and another from the place where Patches sent me. Now I have three weapons, two cleavers, one Fire, one Lightning and a Arcane Cane. Also got Augur of Ebrietas (if that's how you spell it) from the College looking area. (Lecture Hall I think?) (which is fucking amazing, I might add. I am hitting enemies that are weak against Arcane for like 400-500)

Where do I go from here? I've been reading the descriptions of all my items as well as keeping track of all the places I haven't been. I don't want any spoilers, I would just like to know where to go to keep getting magic.

So far, the Lore is really strange. I don't quite understand it. Which is understandable 'cos I've only really just started the game today. I'm just confused about a few things. I found some hair pin and gave it to the Doll. I read the description, and listened to her talk about the hair pin. Does this imply she was modelled after someone and given fake memories?
Also, what the hell are the messengers? I haven't been able to find any information at all on them. They saved me from that beast at the beginning, right?

A lot of DaS1's difficulty came from the general lack of information and esoteric, unclear way that it 'communicated' to the player. It seems brillaint after a few playthroughs when you know what to look for, but for a first playthrough it simply doesn't read well enough to give the player the information they need to make good choices or strong mechanical actions.

Dark souls feels so easy now becausd you've already learned the things that take half a playthrough to learn and can put them to use at the beginning of a playthrough.

DaS2 and BB are much better in that regard. They both tend to read better, communicate with the player more clearly about fundamental gameplay things (eg. bring moss), introduce game mechanics to the player and progress difficulty in a more sound and steady pace.

In terms of mechanical difficulty, DaS1 is by far the easiest but it's probably the worst game to teach you how to play a souls game.
