>My bl 70 bloodletter character does more damage on an untricked R1 with 14 str and 18% gems than my bl98 beast cutter build does on an untricked R1 with 50 str, 31% blunt gems, a heavy abyssal
Wat, how? Does Bloodtinge affect the untricked damage as well?
That is true, but I figure I'll use untricked for PVE trash mob clearing, and that level 120 gains access to the 100-150 meta in it's entirety.
Sorry for another dumb question, but does the trick mode bowblade scale with skill only and use bloodtinge for arrows, or does it scale with skill and bloodtinge when in trick mode?
Too blurry, lad.
I'll post a couple alternatives for you.
Don't know why it took a screenshot. Meant to upload the original photo.
>Wat, how? Does Bloodtinge affect the untricked damage as well?
No, it just has disgustingly high damage modifiers untricked. My guess would be that they tried to balance it to be still useful if you were a pure blt build.
Considering that it also has as much str scaling as a kirkhammer, I'd hate to see the untricked form on a pure strength build.
Thanks for making the thread, anon.
>Is pic related guy still around?
Or did he hollow?
I like bloodborne thematically and story-wise but i was never able to enjoy it gameplay wise as much as i liked the games in the Souls series.
However, now that i'm doing a build where i'm using only WV base stats saw cleaver with 20 on endurance and 50 vitality i feel like for the first time i'm actually having fun playing this game
I'm just running 40/40 str/skl with full 27%'s. As long as you can get your first hit, your damage output snowballs pretty hard. The R2s do pretty heavy damage, and with beast mode, hitting with the jump attack does close to 600. Plus it's just fun, so there's that too.
Every cape can be glitched and turned inside out from too much physics fuckery, effectively taking it off
Then it makes you realize just how much better every torso armor would look without the silly cape on it
Seems like you didn't need a wallpaper after all, going by >>127289512
Ah I just realized that trick bowblade ONLY shoots arrows, unlike riflespear which has projectiles AND melee attacks.
I imagine that rifle spear in trick does SKL scaled melee and BLD scaled projectiles?
I actually enjoy it more. I'm better at the tentative style souls seems to go for, but bloodborne seems to reward the opposite which is great for getting me out of my comfort zone.
>I imagine that rifle spear in trick does SKL scaled melee and BLD scaled projectiles?
exactly, which is why most people would just use a rifle spear on a pure skill build with only 10 BLT, because physical 27.2 increase the damage of the bullets as, and obviously if they only used BLT gems they wouldn't benefit the melee attacks.
It doesn't matter which anon makes them, as long as they don't come out like
>Pic related pre
reposti: So Blades of Mercy, are they just completely useless on an arcane character? I read somewhere that using arcane/elemental gems on it didnt convert the physical damage, but instead added on top of the already existing one. But wouldnt a flat arcane gem and two cold abyssals do the trick then?
That's pretty much all I had in the way pf executioners.
I started having more fun with BB when I started playing it like DeS instead of DaS.
I would like that too. Less work for me, and less misleading >(you)s when people just feel like quoting the OP.
So I just finished the game for the first time, killed gherman, and started new game plus on my shotty, terrible character. I probably didn't do half of the side quest and didn't find many of the optional bosses, so my question is: what now? What build should I go? I feel kinda empty, because I've been non-stop playing for the past 3 days and kinda...rushed. I finished with 25 hours on that load. What should I delve into now? Should I replay the game going a strength build? I barely understand the story. I feel kinda weird. Sorry, I'm autistic
Oh wait, I misunderstood you.
I thought you meant that your lvl 70 build did more damage on r1 bloodletter than your lvl 98 with 50 str did with an r1 on bloodletter, I now know you meant on the beast cutter. I'm so retarded lmao
Ye thought so.
Hard choice deciding to go pure blood or skilltinge
Capes and shoulder capes, especially, are the sickest shit. Looks so good on Hunter garb. Gascoigne's long flowing one is even better. Charred Hunter's looks bad, though, too short and looks flimsy as hell.
PSA: The Pizza Cutter can stun lock Ludwig's second form to death.
L2 → parry → L2 → second parry → win
DeS was much more reliant on proper spacing.
Why would I pretend that my characters look ugly when they obviously don't?
You and I have different tastes and this is entirely opinionated on both our standpoints and there's no unbiased or objective answer
But I'm gonna call you a fucking goober anyway, goober
Skill tinge would be pic related, so it'd still have 50 blood and be at a PVP meta level.
Only if I decided on going into 98 meta would it become a compromised build
What would bowblade be like on a pure skill build? I know the bow form would be basically useless but the fact that it gets an S in skill makes me think it could be better than most skill weapons in its transformed form, and the long range backstabs from the bow would make atleast some use of the bow form i guess and i think would pair well with rakuyo maybe. Anyone had any experience with bowblade on a pure skill build?
>This game is basically demons souls 2
When I go through Yharnam I can't take it for what it is since it just makes me think I'm going through the town of boletaria.
Shame that like 2/3 of the content is optional and the actual main part of the game is so short but I'll take it for what it is.
>Only if I decided on going into 98 meta would it become a compromised build
I need 14 for Bloodletter
>sub 50 bloodtinge, 45 vit instead of 50
This is the main compromise.
I'm not saying it wouldn't work, I'm just saying it'd be better at 120, and still be in the most popular PVP meta range
Doing a BL98 rakuyo build and im just wondering if theres really much of getting the usual 50 vit when i could do 45 vit and put an extra 5 points into end seeing as how stam hungry the rakuyo is. Is the difference so big between 45 and 50 vit that it could screw me over badly?
I opted for lewd triangle. Any better anon?
It's a skill tinge build, jack wagon (i.e. bow blade and chikage). If you want to rely only on blood modes (which is what I would do) then you lower skill to 15 and raise str to 14, but then it's not a skill tinge build anymore.
Also 45 vit is all you need. You'll still have over 1200 HP as a phantom.
The difference between 40 and 50 Blt is around 30 AR.
None of these are major compromises.
Nope, urban Canadian as fuck. If you're brightsides I've been having issues with you the whole time, so it may be you. Either way sorry m80, I'll put the wheel away for your sake
Is the second spin for the wheel still bugged like the fextralife says? just recently got it and im liking it albeit the buff doesnt do much when my arc is just 20 for now
and is it normal for the first spin to basically not cost any health
Because he can be parried
Because he's meant to be a wall protecting the pvp covenant and you're intended to challenge him with a +8/+9 weapon, hence why the entire area leading up to him is full of chunks.
First playthrough newfag here.
Having troubles with Unseen Village. How exactly do the bell ladies work? Do they spawn new enemies constantly unless you kill them? I keep trying to rush through to find them but end up being swarmed by 20 guys. Should I kill every enemy one at a time or do I need to find them fast? The sound of the bell is putting pressure on me and I'm not sure if I need to be rushing the way I am.
Clear then out when and where you can, but be sure to prioritise the Bell-ringers when you can. One of them is hidden in a cage that can only be accessed by dropping to a level below from a gap in some railings, though.
In the Chalices if you kill the Bell Maiden everything she summoned dies a few seconds later, in Yahar'gul, if you kill a Bell Maiden, everything she summoned will not die until you kill them.
anyone willing to help me with NG Orphan? pass is bbg
I just finished the game on my extremely shit, not viable-for-ng+ at all first character
What build should I go now? I wanna go strength, since I went blades of mercy on my first character.
Also what the hell is up with the listed boss HP on fextralife boss pages? There is no fucking way the BLB in lower pthumeru only has 3000 HP. The Ihyll one seems correct, am I just reading it wrong or do these things appear as normal enemies or something?
Whoops, yep, confusing it with chalices. In non-chalices when the bell lady dies, the red-glow enemies are stunned for like 5 seconds and take 100% extra damage (or thereabouts).
Yeah, they keep spawning more. If you are talking about the ones near the orbital Cthulhu Lasers, then you need to
drop over the edge where the fence is broken in the right side.
>everything she summoned will not die until you kill them.
But killing her will stun them and seems to weaken them too. Plus, it stops her from summoning more.
You'll want to share your level.
I wanna go wheel, but I got no fuggin clue how to get it
I know its got something to do with alfred
Is there a way to get that early on? Like an idiot, I killed Gherman before I could play the dlc for the first time so idk
I was thinking that, it could be fun outbid also wanna be viable in pvp, aka fightclub
What's up with all the SRRC kiddies tonight? I've hardly ever run into any before but now they're crawling all over the fight club. They're easy kills, yeah, but it's just annoying needing to wait five minutes for them to show up in the first place, then have the fight itself take ten more because they use all twenty of their vials.
Like I said, I'm a fucking idiot so I have no clue what that is, what cainhurst is and I got no clue how to get it.
I wish I didn't have to fucking beat the game just to go see the dlc weapons
Chalice noob here. I have followed the chalice guide to the last chalice - just need to kill the queen. I have also created and entered a depth 5 FRC dungeon (ISZ).
When I try and join pwmfgg2u it says I don't meet the requirements. Do I have to kill the queen? I have all the chalices just haven't finished last dungeon
You dont have to beat the game for DLC. You just have to kill vicar amelia and you can go to the DLC.
I'm a wheel fag but people only scream wheel because its the holiest of holy weapons. Go to the wiki and see what looks cool
So how does Temp. Boost to transform work? I don't get it, does it only affect the starting beastmeter when I consume a Blood pellet? Or does it give a bonus on the per-hit buildup? Because the latter doesn't seem to be working
>Struggling with Defiled hotdog
Doing this build, anyone wanna help me with pthumeru hotdog?
Well fuck, guess I'll have to rely on my saw spear then.. Shit this is going to take some time.
>Upper cathedral ward
Dude what the fuck I am legitimately spooked.
Those violins, or singing, or whatever. God damn fuck this.
Whats a good build for the pizza cutter? And how ealry on can I get it in the DLC? I just finished the game with my first ever character but want to quickly abondon it, since its trash. The Pizza Cutter looks really fun/cool, but I dont wanna play through all the DLC since I just wanna grab it right after I kill vicar amelia.
What weapon should I use whilst I dont have the cutter?
I actually just killed the alien boss, he was piss easy.
Broke a window and now I'm back at the dream stocking up to go through.
Seriously though I usually consider myself pretty jaded but those violins made it extra tense. That atmosphere was on par with Tower of Latria, in fact I kind of felt like that was just an extension of the place.
Alright mates, making my 2nd character. What weapon should I main? I want one I can get early on, nothing like a Physcthe, i gotta go back to work on monday.
Just fought and defeated Ludwig, on my second try. Honestly, definitely the best boss battle in this game thus far, the music was actually decent unlike all the other shit boss music, and the cutscenes actually added some depth. Why can't more boss battles be like this?
>those two fucks deliberately placed so that one sprints and grabs you a milisecond before you can backstab the other.
Sometimes I wonder if Miyazaki just hates people.
You didn't like Gascoigne's theme, or Logarius', or Ebrietas' theme, or hell any number of other themes present in the game? That's a real shame, man. Maybe the rest of the DLC tunes will stand out to you like Ludwig's did.
Should it be a rule that you can't snipe people from the top of the ladder in the FC?
Is there anything better than the saw blade early on? 20/13 str/skl going quality like all first runs, arc for second
Got a threaded cane but it's a wet noodle at the moment; assuming saw will hold me w/upgrades until I'm finished with vit & focus on str or skl
Making a new character to use Tonitrus with.
pic related is my hunter
Ludwigs is great, but it's not even the best from the DLC. Living Failures theme, especially from the giant space void meteor shower part was my favourite piece of music from the game.
https://youtu.be/PFLFsa1sYiA comes a close second.
Has anyone tried this before to keep Djura friendly?
Host goes to the door shortcut down some buildings and summons. Cooperator waits on the other side of the door shortcut and is hopefully summoned on that side and opens it. Then the host could go beat BSB and head back to Djura without ever stepping foot across the bridge and getting warned.
I'm assuming Djura isn't initially hostile at least.
No. Saws are objectively the most OP weapon in the game. In both PvE and PvP there's hardly anything else worth using because of their high damage, low stamina consumption, non-existant recovery and ridiculous speed. The serrated bonus for PvE helps and so do those overhead transformed swings for big bosses like amy
I don't care if you do or don't. I am just saying that staying at 98 is not a major sacrifice.
You stunlock him into a parry state, parry him, and before he can do anything, you can stunlock him until he is ready to parry again.
Use the Axe until you get the Pizza Cutter
So for my strength build, should I go Ludwigs holy blade, or Kirkhammer? I would go wheel, but I heard that takes like half the game to get to, Im still kinda new and havent seen everything since this will be my second character.
I have, he's a pretty cool dude and actually questions murdering the "monsters" who are human.
The issue is that if you don't kill him you don't get his sweet armor, also most people assume he's hostile because he shoots at you and is hostile before the bloodmoon
Overall not a bad guy, but it's better to just murder him for his stuff.
>always get too cocky around bloodsuckers
>they'll drain me at least once before I kill them
why do I do this to myself all the time?
I just started the game. I killed Amelia, made my way through the forest, met up with Patches, got the Arcane and Bolt gem from near the clinic and in that place where Patches sent me. I also got a two Fire Gems from Chalice Dungeons and another from the place where Patches sent me. Now I have three weapons, two cleavers, one Fire, one Lightning and a Arcane Cane. Also got Augur of Ebrietas (if that's how you spell it) from the College looking area. (Lecture Hall I think?) (which is fucking amazing, I might add. I am hitting enemies that are weak against Arcane for like 400-500)
Where do I go from here? I've been reading the descriptions of all my items as well as keeping track of all the places I haven't been. I don't want any spoilers, I would just like to know where to go to keep getting magic.
So far, the Lore is really strange. I don't quite understand it. Which is understandable 'cos I've only really just started the game today. I'm just confused about a few things. I found some hair pin and gave it to the Doll. I read the description, and listened to her talk about the hair pin. Does this imply she was modelled after someone and given fake memories?
Also, what the hell are the messengers? I haven't been able to find any information at all on them. They saved me from that beast at the beginning, right?
No one has anything to say about the gatling gun?
>Get locked in lava fighting Laurence
>He combos into the overhead slam
I hope Dark Souls 3 has an "Oh fuck NOPENOPENOPE" status effect like frenzy. As annoying as it was, it was also a lot of fun having to deal with something so powerful.
Toxic was never quite as threatening.
No prob m8
You just posted it, but I'm gonna go ahead and post my second and third favourites as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-k3XXGmu-dw
Status effects in general were easy to manage in Dark Souls. Actually, DaS is probably the easiest game that From's made, amusingly. I've been playing it again recently and it feels so slow.
I just beat the game, and I dont really know what to do now. My current characters pretty bad, and I didnt play the old hunters before NG+. I wanna start a new character but dont know what I should do.
It's certainly the slowest of them all. But I kinda of like how weighty everything in the game felt, though it is kind of hard to go back to it after how fast Bloodborne has been.
I honestly like Laurence's theme more than Ludwig's, even if only slightly. Ludwig's theme is very dramatic in both parts while Laurence's theme is dropping with sorrow and mournfulness, and the phase 2 theme is just absolutely top-notch stuff.
>play through on release with ludwigs build
>have little trouble, fun build
>friend wants to play again
>try skill build
what weapons should I aim or using endgame? chikage? will it be worth it if I don't put any points in tinge?
So, i'm near the end of my first playthrough (only have to fight Gehrman and Moon Presence) and I was wondering if I should complete all the chalice dungeons, go straight to NG+ and try to beat it and stuff, or just create a new character after beating G and MP?
oh god I want more of her voice
its so sexy and amazing jesus I would pay this voice actress to do the yandere voice 24/7 and have sexy timez with me
I just lost 40,000 blood echoes.
That has not happened to me in a while.
I'm going to take that as a sign to stop my bow blade second playthrough, and focus on games I need to finish on my backlog.
A lot of DaS1's difficulty came from the general lack of information and esoteric, unclear way that it 'communicated' to the player. It seems brillaint after a few playthroughs when you know what to look for, but for a first playthrough it simply doesn't read well enough to give the player the information they need to make good choices or strong mechanical actions.
Dark souls feels so easy now becausd you've already learned the things that take half a playthrough to learn and can put them to use at the beginning of a playthrough.
DaS2 and BB are much better in that regard. They both tend to read better, communicate with the player more clearly about fundamental gameplay things (eg. bring moss), introduce game mechanics to the player and progress difficulty in a more sound and steady pace.
In terms of mechanical difficulty, DaS1 is by far the easiest but it's probably the worst game to teach you how to play a souls game.
if youre the same guy you should probably try other STR weapons then, or big weapons
Boomhammer was a close second to wheel for smashing shit to death
But beast cutter, HMS, LHB,and bloodletter would be good options.
I would say kirkhammer but its fucking awful
I don't have enough smug anime reaction images for this stupidity.
>just got third Moon rune from mother brain
>equip all three moon runes because why not
>continue on up meros loft: middle
>kill shadows of yharnam, 3 eye pigs
>oh look theres a pack of them up ahead, should i keep going or...
>100,000 fucking souls
>from killing those six enemies
jesus christ each run only takes like four minutes. i've leveled up like 15 times ez peasy. this must be some sort of bug, right?
>somewhere out there, on this very fucking planet, someone thought it was ok to make Amygdala a Defiled Chalice boss
>someone actually stopped and said "hey yeah this is totally ok"
Kind of hilariously, even with all of the obtuse shit like bloated HP pools, fucktons of enemies and just generally terrible encounter design, I found DaS2 vastly easier than the other games simply because high enough ADP can make you practically invincible. It's a tougher game as a turtle
What are the best weapons for Strength build? Is arcane still shit with strength? I don't like that health drain on activated Wheel.
Theres plenty of places to farm souls with 3 moons, the lecture hall being one of them for 50k souls in >1 minute.
I accidentally had just the moon rune 3 on during a chalice dungeon layer and I got to the boss with 300k souls
Whats the best weapon early on in the game?
You have to let her kill arianna, and kill rom.
The tricked version only drains health if you power it up, and it only affects arcane.
You can just trick it and not power it, and its basically just a faster version with tiny bit less damage
i posted in the general earlier about it yes
I cant really decide on what str weapon id want to use outside of beast cutter or hms.
Ludwigs ive used and its good but if im going for a full str build id use the whirligig
im not sure if i want to do a blt build since it can only use the letter or chikage and im not sure what stats ludwigs needs to not suck shit
going 25 str 50 arc for this guy and could potentially use hms in it
Last night, I was doing a bunch of co-op at Mergo Wet Nurse area. I've done this area a lot. so I know this guy wasn't just some npc. Player comes in to fight me and the two other guys. I hadn't really thought about it while it was happening, it didn't strike me as strange until after. There's plenty about Bloodborne that I don't know how to do, like that weird alien transformation thing you can do. This guy, from what I can remember, had three distinctive traits. 1: lightning fuckin fast. Like his dodges seemed a good, 30-40% faster than they should. 2: big, big claws with just two claw points per hand after some research, I know these could easily be beast claws. 3: most importantly, his face. Clearly the face of a beast. Exactly like the tall, strong beasts in Yahrnum. I thought nothing of this, since again, I know there's a lot I dont know about this game. When I did some reasearch tho, there were definitely no helms resembling this. There's a fourth trait, but I'm unsure. If I remember, this guy's jog (while waiting for his stamina to regen) did not look like a hunter's. It was more heaving, laboring like a big beast in horror movie. This last trait, I could be wrong; again, I didn't start thinking about this til after. Are these all things we know how to do and some guy was just doing a cosplay?
>get into Demons Souls because of how cool the "invasion" mechanic sounded
>felt great literally tearing niggers apart with the scrapping spear and getting fan mail
>each game leaps farther away from the idea of "invasions" and instead treats it like pvp
>now no matter how hard I try to be a shit ass I've never gotten a single piece of fan mail
This is beyond suffering
It could've been worse m8, so much worse.
>actually caring about fanmail to the point of despairing over a lack of it
You people are literally just as bad as honourfags. If you're gonna play dirty, do it right, don't just do it for fanmail.
You get more magic in a castle that you have to get invited to - you catch a carriage to that place after you get an item and read its description.
After the night progresses and you're in the next area there is another spell as well as a a key which will get you to a place with a very good spell.
The DLC has good spells. I'm being super vague because I don't want to spoil .
I still think you should have restarted STR/SKL familia and saved ARC for the 2nd playthrough but to each their own.
Whirligig is really fucking good.
Far as I know optimal build for ludwigs is 25STR/25SKL, then like 50 vit and whatever endurance.
The STR/SKL B scaling will out damage the pure A or S or whatever scaling with 50 ARC, and you might as well not put points into ARC nless you go to 50 in most cases.
But I dont know a lot about arc so feel free to correct me.
25STR wont net you a lot of damage on pure STR weapons, and if youre already 25S/50Ar you dont have a lot of options
The direction they've taken away from "invasions" to "pvp" really troubles me. I think DS3 will be the game that decides whether I keep playing the games long term or do a couple of pve playthroughs and then shelve the game(s).
I summoned people for my Ebrietas fight, I just let them have agro while I used A Call beyond. Easiest shit.
I paid my dues, though, and co-oped some people using the same "strategy".
Fan mail is just a bonus.
Whenever I fight like a cunt it just makes me laugh. Half the time it causes the other dude to immediately start mashing blood vials but i typically end up winning.
>Running to mergos on a fully gemmed lvl 108
>get invaded as im going up the elevator
>run through door, decide fuck it and turn around
>run back down
>guy is there in dolls costume and BoM
>this oughta be gud
>when he bows I blow his face off with a bone marrow'ed cannon
>chase him down smashing the ground behind him with wheel
>pop lead elixir behind wall while he runs
>he runs back to me
>stabs me, eats another cannon followed by wheel slam
laughed the entire time
i think im a maniac
So I'm playing through bloodborne for the first time, and I'm right before the last boss fight. Should I do old hunters now or do it ng+? I'm feeling kinda lazy and sorta just want to beat the game now
>tfw you get fanmail by doves while doing nothing
one time i fought butt ass naked and still got called a fag
I was really excited when I saw the very first old hunter send beasts flying with his beast cutter. I'm pissed that it just "stuns" people like they've been hit by the threaded cane or some shit. STR weapons need to knockdown again, and they need to hit hard enough that the subsequent lack of combos doesn't matter for shit.
I just killed Gherman and wanted to know, is this build salvagable? (Its my first character ever). I kinda wanna do NG+ to do stuff I didnt do before, but its stats are really shit, but I like the Scythe a lot
I also didnt do the old hunters DLC. Should I just restart and rock Ludwig? Or maybe kirk? Could really use some feedback here
Rakuyo is the most common dlc weapon, used exclusively by terrible people and former blt cucks that found a new katana to wank over
Saif is the 2nd most common, used primarily by shitters desperate for an easy win. Every single saw user jumped ship to it.
Bloodletter is the true king. Not many people have realized just how good it is, probably because blt cucks played blt for the weeaboo katana and strength character avoided blt because all it had was a katana. There's nothing that stands even with the bloodletter, it's head and shoulder above everything in terms of pvp. Literal free win weapon.
Pretentious pvp hipsters that fancy themselves just a cut above the rest use the church pick and bowblade because they think style and being underused is all that matters and they can make everything 'work' just by being so much better than you.
The rest, including the people that are just in it to have fun, and the poor folks that just don't know any better, use the HMS, pizza cutter, boom hammer and beast cutter.
I have made a beastclaws build, I have 25 str/skill.
Should I get more or should I focus into HP.
Also how the hell do I kill laurence as a level 60? I can't find anyone to summon, and I am no where near good enough to do it alone.
>tfw went through the whole game and thought I was done
>I start playing again becuase the new DLC
>I started NG+ and started going on these threads
>I learned that I ended up skipping all but two of the optional bosses and areas in the main game
How do I fuck up THIS bad?
Well, the thing is that I think a lot of AAA America devs are adapting blockbuster Hollywood tactics, and one of those tactics is getting Names to Star in your product. Like putting Ellen Page in whatever the shit it was; the idea is that having her in the game will make people say "Oh I like Ellen Page, I'll go buy that" and that helps with marketing. Vanderpuye is great but he isn't a Name.
B-but I really wanted to do PVP ;-;
So I should just restart? This character took me 3 days of constant, non stop play to do. Whats so bad about it? I know yall like low endurance but its only like 6 points higher than what everyone usually has
invasions are shit anyway. either it's twinks invading low levels because they can't hack real pvp, or it's higher level invasions which are more like organised duels anyway.
BB's pvp and invasion system has just done away with twink shitters, nothing more.
For beast cutter, you can choose to go either 50 str and the rest wherever, or 50.25 str/skl for the most optimized damage though you only get a few more points in AR for the 25 skl.
Go 1 heavy abyssal and 2 blunt adept gems with the highest you can find (absolute best they come is 32% but good luck farming those)
Bloodletter is 14 str (minimum to wield it) and 50 blt. You can go physical tempering gems if you're lazy or go full korean and farm offshape bloodtinge gems.
For Bloodletter there's really two paths, one better at lower levels and one better at PvP meta levels;
14/50 str/blt or 28-30/50 str/blt. The first just gets you tricked Bloodletter, which is pretty good by itself. You can also tack on enough skl to use chikage/bowblade. The latter gets you a strong untricked Bloodletter too, and also tacks on (a very strong) Gatling Gun and cannons.
I do the former, but my 'Letter build is BL70 so it's kind of all I can afford.
Well if youre planning on making one character then never playing the game again who cares.
If you actually want to make a quality build then yes restart.
Typically you want 50STR/SKL for max damage.
50VIT so you dont die in two shots.
For almost every weapons 16 or less endurance works the same as 30.
BBG does lvl 98 PVP because it lets you invade lowbies but also denies lvl 150s from invading you. If you dont give a shit enough then ust balance the character out and youll be like lvl 110-120
Have you played this game? Have you played the previous souls games? You know how you could find a CREO in the previous games and just decide fuck it, I'm going to invade. I'm not going to lose anything if I die and I'm probably going to have some fun either way.
Doesn't work that way in this game. If you want to invade anywhere but in Mensis or hizz you have to have a completely finished pvp character or you will get destroyed by 2v1/3v1 literally every time you invade.
So twinking just becomes mandatory really. Also the HP penalty handicaps honourfags more than it does twinks because you can't force someone to bloodbullet. Plus no "fun" low level builds that are gimmicky like iron golem or fat minister because you have to play hard or get r1'd to death by three people 100% of the time.
You obviously just don't like invasions. I don't know what happened to you in the burg but you need to let it go.
Oh I do like to try out the Gatling Gun. What are some other good weapon to be tacked on to a Pure Strength build? Now I'm not sure whether to go 50 Str or 25 Str/ 50 Tinge. How much endurance do I need also?
Where should I go from here? Can I still go full ayylmao?
You don't even need to. 22% gems from the dlc are more than enough considering most players invadeable in the twink range do sub100 damage to you and die in 3 hits even without gems.
>I get wrecked invading because I do so in prime invasion areas without a decent build
>I can't grief low level players unoptimised for PvP just running the level using my optimised PvP build
All I'm getting from this is that you'd like it to be easier to kill people at a lower level and would rather not deal with PvP on a even playing field and finished build levels. I enjoyed the invasions in previous souls games, but at anything lower than endgame levels invading a host on their own was usually a gimme. It should be in favour of the host, not the invader, since the invader has nothing at stake.
They needed to include a large sinister bell you could ring for actual duels, where any invaders summoned via it would have full HP, that would mitigate a lot of the issues.
what would you want? I would rather a whole new weapon vs 3 slightly different versions of one.
it would be cool as fuck if there is an option in the next game after BB to both one and two hand weapons in both trick forms.
>22% gems from the dlc
Going through Ludwig and to lesser degree Failures and Maria isn't exactly much easier though If you find some fag to carry you I guess that's better then repeatedly bash your head against FRC bosses.
>and die in 3 hits even without gems
This is wrong unless your twink in some glass cannon leveling scaling stats without giving a fuck about VIT.
On the topic of weapon differentiations, am I the only one who wises that elemental effects would show up on your weapon by default? Like say, the Tonitrus. Even when you don't activate the lightning mode, you can see little blue bolts dancing across the head of the mace.
Why can't they do that for all elementally-enhanced weapons? Like, imagine if Fire-enhanced weapons smouldered gently, or had patches of flame on them or something.
Or Arcane-enhanced weapons could give off a gentle glow of some kind, not quite as drastic as Empty Phantasm Shell, but still visible.
>Warp to Cathedral Ward
>Step down the first tiny staircase
The door there leads to it. It's super easy to miss, the game doens't mention it a lot, and it's not really mandatory
>BB easily the most twink friendly game because of gems alone
No. That would be DS1 because +5 ascended pyro flame wrecks everything and requires no skill whatsoever to upgrade, just farm for an hour or two or abuse boss soul popping glitch.
>All I'm getting from this is that you'd like it to be easier to kill people at a lower level
Did you see the webm I posted? Does it look like I have any problems killing people at low levels? What I'd like to do is invade with a build that doesn't have chalice gems and have some sort of a chance of winning. If you seriously think invading people that aren't in Mensis or hizz or something is griefing I really don't know what to say.
I get that you're more of a SL120 townshit honourfag and that it's all down to opinions on what is more fun and that we'll have to agree to disagree, it just doesn't make sense for both of us not to be able to get our way. You can "invade" at end game areas all you like, I do think I should be able to invade in UCW, cainhurst, hemwick etc, areas other than mensis basically, with gimmicky builds and not get turned into shredded ham by 3v1's literally every time. It's what I find fun, no doubt you find your honour pvp fun.
I've done the high level pvp thing too. It's okay, not really my cup of tea. I'd play fightan for competitive 1v1 combat.
You see the issue with making everything in the hosts favour though? People play like scum because there are no other options.
General /bbg/ logic is you never go beyond 20 end. I haven't yet so I can't tell you different, 20 does me fine on my str build with two stam runes.
Pure strength is a specific cluster of weapons; Kirkhammer, Amy Arm, Whirligig, and Boom Hammer kinda. Everything else that's Str-focused wants a side of either Skl or Arc. Skill comes with stronger viscerals, Arc comes with tools. Most of those can work okay without the secondary stat though, especially at lower levels.
>What I'd like to do is invade with a build that doesn't have chalice gems and have some sort of a chance of winning.
You can beat scrubs with any build, even if it takes you 10 hits to kill them. Plus I dont get what youre saying, do you mean like if youre laying through the game, and youre in the forest for example, you want to be able to invade and fight somebody thats on your level?
Thats super easy to do. 70% of my invasions are 1v1, 25% are 2v1 and then the rest 5% is 3v1s.
I dont understand what youre complaining about
Whats a good, all around build I can make to be ready for the Old Hunters DLC? I wanna use maybe the axe or kirk for the base game, then in the Old Hunters I wanna be able to switch my weapon out if I find any I like and be able to use it properly
Im thinking like 30 str, 25 skill?
she forgot to mash roll and ended up being vulnerable to another hit
>You can beat scrubs with any build, even if it takes you 10 hits to kill them.
Spoken like someone who didn't try ever.
Not the guy you're replaying to but we're not talking about 1 vs 1 so you're going to go against 3 people, all of them together having 60 vials. Have fun landing your 10 hits on host who has 2 butt buddies and can heal on moment's notice even if you're god of parries because with two others constantly hanging on your ass you're not going to get that visceral ever.
>that leap range
>that bullshit magic axe shockwave
>ebrietas tentacles in their mouths
In PVP, the meta is generally stamina and health runes because the other runes are pretty useless.
Go to mugenmonkey and compare stamina.
If you have 10 STAM, and have a 20% and 15% stamina rune, you will have 4 less stamina total than if you had 30 stamina.
cruising by to post character art
So a friend and I have been cooping Chalice dungeons for a good 2 to 3 hours tonight trying to get the beast claw for him.
Ultimately he wants to get the beast rune, but is it going to be decent to use before then?
By that I mean is it at least not garbage?
Yeah obviously. I'm saying in a 1v1 you can beat anybody. The only time it would legitamately take 10 hits to kill someone is if they stacked VIT and are like 30 levels higher than you.
The worst I've fought is it took 6 hits total to kill, and I still beat the guy eventually.
Obviously any 3v1 with that same damage youd lose horribly. But if hes saying he wants a build that can beat 3v1s at low levels that kinda dumb because the invader is supposed to be stacked against the odds half the time
>You call that an L2? THIS is an L2!
Your only option at that point is to get dirty. You can get kills with Beast Roar if you're clever and patient enough. It's definitely more difficult than just having a weapon with full gems (which isn't that rough of a journey) but you can do it.
There's at least one anon in here who uses nothing but hunter tools he picked up in the base game and the environment to kill hosts and summons;
Basically I'm complaining that it's not Dark Souls 1.
I liked that in DS1 you could just invade regular players going through the game as a regular player going through the game. Yes you can do that in BB, but without HP runes to offset the HP difference you are at a huge disadvantage to the host HP wise. You're at a further disadvantage because if you're not in Mensis or Nightmare Frontier you'll be invading 2v1's or 3v1's, or kind souls doing sinister playthroughs. You can offset that disadvantage by having better gear, using mobs, ambushing, or just being crazy better than them. Admittedly it's a nice feeling to just outskill a 3v1 and snipe the host with a heal parry while his cooperators vainly r1 about you, but it usually ends in 10fps lag locking to death. So you're forced to play a certain way to not die every time - like a dick basically.
In DS1 you could make actual invasion characters that were both fair and viable. Iron Tarkus invading AL, fat minister in blighttown
okay maybe that's not quite so fair, iron golems in sens, patches in catacombs. Sure sometimes you'd encounter a host with two sunbros who can't stop throwing lightning spears but it wasn't guranteed EVERY FUCKING TIME YOU INVADE! It wasn't always lightning katanas in the burg, not every invader is a complete pile of shit like some people think.
Tldr my picture
not the first time that happened
I guess rakuyo fags need end
Sure, but if you put in more endurance you could then equip those runes and have even more stamina. Like, way more.
My new 98 is going to try exactly that. I'll let everyone know how it goes!
Ok thats what I thought.
Idk coming across 3v1s is rare as hell for me, I wish it happened more often.
But yes I agree, the game is made more host friendly, probably so that new players arent getting raped by some experienced player after they just spent an hour clearing everything in the forbidden woods for the first time without dying
>I liked that in DS1 you could just invade regular players going through the game as a regular player going through the game
Practically speaking that wasn't any more true in DS1 than it is in BB. While you weren't totally guaranteed to run into co-op groups, there was no real reason to be human other than to summon, and parish twinks taught everyone to be cautious about going human. Include the fact that DS1 had instant backstabs and poise, and the invader was up against some serious odds if he was fighting two or three players at once. It basically went back to what you're complaining about here; play like a dick, or just be crazy better than your opponent. That's the only reason an Iron Tarkus cosplay would ever win an invasion, otherwise you're just a fatrolling chucklefuck waiting to get rollstabbed.
