Character Birthday Archive:
Thankfully left best boy for last. My weakening motivation to finish Prince of Stride has been revived. Hoping the anime does well and looking forward to merchandise.
I'm sorry. He is one of my most favorites.
Just going to skip this one and save up while telling myself that holiday cards aren't worth getting
even though he, Okinawa, and Ten look sweet ;_;
3 draws and nothing, meanwhile some people are getting 3 cards in one draw. It wasn't meant to be. New Years might be different but as much as I like the Memories Melodies and Leopard Eyes costumes, they wont be as cute,
A picture is only ever a master when it's resized. If you don't see the difference, then it may be for any number of reasons, like lighting, display size, or simply little enough difference between the master and the original picture.
It just gets annoying when people always blog about those stupid games. Most of the times it's not even a discussion or even an exchange of information, just
>hey, I got unlucky again
>I ranked x in the last event, how did you guys do?
I regularly try to post things that might or might not start discussion. But we're on fucking 4chan, and I'm not a conversation master so obviously I'm shit at it. There's a reason why I'm here everyday instead of having friends.
The Otome part doesn't get talked about at all. The boys also hardly get mentioned except whining that one didn't get the one he wanted and similar. And there's a reason why Tourabu moved to its own general when it got overhand in here. Right now it's pretty dead anyways.
I'm sorry for all the complaining. Please don't read if you don't want to read shitty meta posts.
Uh, what? A master is smaller, while the original isn't, all the difference stems from this, or more specifically, from compression related issues. If you can't sometimes see the difference, then it might just mean that it's really that insignificant; nevertheless, save the original just in case, it's not like you need a premium account for that or something.
I mean more that it had no defined-as-female protag and there was nothing resembling romance or even much interaction with the sword boys. Something like Idolish 7 on the other hand has you playing a female manager with the occasional vaguely romantic interaction with the guys.
It's usually just one or two autistic anons or people with really high definition screens that you can apparently see the quality difference on. I did a test and saved a master and full size version of the same picture and I could only notice a difference if I zoomed in really far.
Some people also like to archive pixiv art so they'll get anal about saving things in the best possible quality. But really, it hardly matters, just ignore the people who complain.
I don't really have an issue with swords being posted here myself. I'm just saying that even if you're going to argue for a stricter definition of "otome" here most of the idol mobage fit it.
The key word is 'sometimes'. Most often the difference really is easily noticeable.
And hell, I never save Pixiv images from anywhere but the artist's page, since file degeneration occurs every time it is saved and reposted, so I'm really just treating the eyecancer seeing a master gives me, don't see this as more that what this is; and yes, you do benefit from saving originals.
> it had no defined-as-female protag
Oh, come on, how many men do you think play the game, how many of them aren't gay and how likely it is that gay men could be anything more than at the very best a periphery demographic?
> interaction with the sword boys
That's just a peculiarity of the game. Substance over form, remember.
Speaking of Summon Night, how exactly does the romance work in this game? Is it all subtle shit like "You are my most special friend, I could never live without you"? Do you even get to kiss? Is it romantic in any way whatsoever?
>I mean more that it had no defined-as-female protag
On that note, I want the anime, once that is an actual thing, to just go otome reverse harem. A cute female saniwa protag who gets princess carried by one of the sword boys at least once.
Try looking through pixiv. A large part of the fanbase are fujoshi. They'd lose all of those fans with a canon female saniwa appearing on screen and actually being a love interest for the swords. And why would they risk losing any fans if they could just leave the saniwa off screen?
> Kancolle the game has all the girls in love with the player, while the animu left the admiral out
> Toulove the game has the swords barely acknowledging the player's existence, and the animu will have them adore the saniwa
Calling it now.
I just want to see the shitstorm that the fujos would kick up if they did that. I'm sure I'm not the only one that remembers how Tsuru's artist got harassed because of his apparently feminine obi.
Just some idiots throwing a fit because the way his obi is is typical for an uke or something like that. The bigger problem was that the artist wasn't ignoring them, apologized and actually thought of changing it. Luckily that didn't happen.
There are vocal and stupid people in every fanbase. I'm sure some Otome fans that self insert would be mad if the saniwa would be shown and had any kind of personality.
> Just some idiots throwing a fit because the way his obi is is typical for an uke or something like that.
I got that much. Is there a recap of this somewhere? Oh well, I guess googling is in order.
The way his obi is tied was more traditionally worn by women, which made it seem feminine and in their thinking made him seem more like an uke. I guess some got mad because they preferred seme Tsuru.
What does saniwa mean ?
Is it a faceless MC ?
Damn I hate those.
I prefer when the heroine have personnalities even if they greatly differ from mine.
I self insert, but not to the point of wanting the blandest of bland.
I also prefer when the heroine are voiced.
>> Kancolle the game has all the girls in love with the player
>All the girls
Yamashirowould love me
Izumi gets all sort of shit because she's taiwanese, I noticed that when she got to design monoyoshi a bunch of chinks went like "I like his design but I hate that he's designed by izumi" I wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones that started that shit.
On the topic of the anime, Tourabu is kinda losing steam and the fanbase is like 70% fujo don't fool yourselves, adding an actual character saniwa would end up in a disaster.
Yeah, chinks are mainland Chinese.
>all sort of shit because she's taiwanese
Is this only from the Chinese fanbase? I know China-Taiwan has that whole political tension thing going on, but I thought Japan was pretty chill with Taiwan. Either way, that's ridiculous. Just enjoy the damn swordboys.
Just play it and see for yourself if you like it whether it is otome or not. It's not like you feel obliged to buy games before playing them, right?
Who has better legs: Hotaru or Yagen?
I guess I misread it. With these connection errors, I wonder how the ranking will be.
>Finished playing a song
>Got a connection error message before result screen
Hoping I'm still going to get the points.
>I wonder how the ranking will be
Managed to get in and checked the rankings. Rank 1 has already 240k points at the moment. I wonder how that person do it with these connection errors.
How did worst boy end up being best boy? Everyone in the threads disliked him at the start, including myself. Now I'm probably going to get the game just for /fit/ as well.
He had the exact same aura from the other dudes, being "I'm a complete abusive asscrack"
Not that he's tame, but with Ritsuka he was the cutest. Rem was harmless but also boring as fuck.
How bad are the issues of Hatoful on the Vita?
I read that there are some problems with the sound and switching between menus but I can't estimate if it's still okay or makes it unplayable.
I consider buying it but I am not sure.
I didn't play that many stuff: Utapri ASAS, Jooubachi Kaguya Hen, Norn9
in nip, NTY and bought C:R recently.
I'm still not done with half of these but C:R is becoming my favorite play of 2015.
Most of them are from 2014, Norn9 PSP being from 2013 if I'm not mistaken. Better for me to say "stuff I played this year", not exactly released in 2015, which I belive only Utapri fits.
I agree with you there. Even the Japanese release seemed like it was out longer than it was. I was only certain the English release was this year after remembering MG's 2015 release poll.
I barely played anything this year so I don't have much to choose from, but for me Psychedelica was my game of the year.
Really looking forward to Kenka Bancho Otome and the Psychedelica sequel.
The sound sometimes becomes likes this high pitched screeching sound, but it happens so little it doesn't really bother me. Also selecting choices and skipping is a little slow/glitchy.
Excluding ports and games made before 2015, only game left is RdF and that was bad.
Looking forward to the new corda, more ports, and maybe moshikami and the new Kgk.
If only the utapri games added her voice.
I want Maaya Sakamoto to voice a MC, excluding Ouran.
I read in Japanese and talking speed is only a bit slower than my reading speed so I always let them finish.
But even if I'm playing translated games, I let them talk since the voice acting is great. Why wouldn't you want to listen to Sawashiro, Imai or Sakamoto? They have great voices.
Doesn't matter if their voices are great, they're still too slow. I read super fast in all languages I speak, so having to wait is irritating as fuck. Good thing I'm not a seiyuu fag.
Because sometimes certain lines come up that are just too great. I skip most of my lines, but sometimes I go back and listen in the play back section. For example, all of my NTY saved lines are Haru making funny sounds when he gets hurt.
Just finished listening to Hayanie vol1. That voice actor's amazing at being lewd. Any guesses on what his real name is? The entire story's atmosphere was 2creepy4me, but I guess it'll sit well with yandere lovers.
Every day I pray to Lord that one morning I will wake up to find that He by His boundless grace has smitten all the dykes on this wretched planet, and I smile in my heart knowing that it will be so.
Why are boys with full legs so sexy?
For me, the voice acting makes it more immersive so I like having it.
Yeah, this. I have a tough time really explaining it, but I tend to dislike the faces in bara art as opposed to just prettyboys that are muscular like in Free!
The second artbook was released today. It's already at my forwarding service, hopefully they'll send it put before closing for New Years.
Can't wait to find out which clear file I got.
That really is a nice looking shrine.
Happy birthday, Hime!

The future is bright.
On the otome side there's Spirit parade, and as far as BL goes Seiyuu danshi sounds interesting. Just off the top of my head. The former is complete enough to have a demo and preorder option(But it's not done yet), while the latter is still very early in development.
The only reason I'd have to play non nip games would be the writing since nips good enough in all other aspects.
And I doubt those rather bad looking games have fantasting writing.
There are more than enough good games on the PC/PSP.
Stop being lazy and learn nip already, it's not hard. You just have to start and keep at it every day, without exceptions. Chances are high you already know some anyways from exposure through anime.
Watch more anime. Turn the subtitles off.
Listen to drama CDs and try to understand.
Listen to radios if you're interested in the VAs. Or events, you'll be able to understand a lot just from the context(video), so that's probably better.
Just get more exposure. It's the easiest way to get a basic grip of grammar.
There's no way that drawing is harder than learning an entire language. It takes effort, but if you look at the improvement compilations artists post sometimes you can clearly see the improvement. Of course, getting better requires drawing something every day which is a pain, but that's not the same as having to memorise vocabulary, grammar and 3 whole 'alphabets'.
It varies between people. Language learning is easier for some while drawing is easier for others. I know some people who got to the level where they could read VNs fairly comfortably in 6 months but they can't hold a pencil to save their lives and probably would never be good at a visual art.
There's no way learning a language is harder than learning how to draw. It takes effort, but if you look at the improvement reports learners post sometimes you can clearly see the improvement. Of course, getting better requires reading every day which is a pain, but that's not the same thing as having to learn anatomy, color theory, and different mediums all with their own techniques.
I feel like I've messed up something awful by choosing to go with Ouichirou first in Sweet Clown.
Sorry anon, you did. Mitsuhara > Kuze > Hinose > Kobashi > True is the recommended order. Each route foreshadows revelations in the following ones and then Kobashi's gives away everything about the mystery surrounding the castle.
The other routes will likely be a drag for you now because none of them are as eventful as Kobashi's other than True. The route order should've been locked.
>decide by yourself
but I'm really conflicted here on what should I do. I
piratedNorn9 to decide if I should buy it and finished half of the routes available, and while I like some things I'm sure if I truly liked the game. Many things made me cringe, others made me smile and there's some really dubious routes that made me wish they never added them in the first place (why even add Ron and Heishi for Nanami if in my opinion, they don't seem as compelling? Ron seems like a complete trash)
Actuallly, my biggest problem is that I don't feel like finishing everything.
Did anyone felt this way as well? maybe I'm just not liking the game enough and should not bother? I bought Code:Realize and finished the common route plus two routes in three days, and I've been playing Norn since October and I'm still not done with it. For those who finished everything, was it worth it?
If you're playing norn9 for the plot it's not worth it. None of the routes felt like they concluded anything in a satisfying way, the only reason why I remotely enjoyed it were some character interactions. Which routes did you finish?
Isn't that basically Macross?
Thanks for the order anon.
Their routes were pretty short so it was fast to complete, even if most of the routes weren't even good. I forced myself to finish because people were hyping it up years ago.
Itsuki, Sakuya, Natsuhiko, Akito and Senri. I liked Akito, Senri and Natsuhiko the most. I'm starting Kakeru now since looks like he'll have the biggest focus in the animey.
To be fair, I liked most of these routes but for some reason I still don't feel like I truly loved the game. It's not shit like Amnesia but not that amazing either.
Well, on second thought, how interesting is the true route? And going through everyone else's stuff if only for their characters can't be all bad, right?
Unless it is, for whatever reason.
I'd still suggest doing the rest in order. There are some smaller plot points that aren't fully addressed in Kobashi's route.
What made you want to go for him first anyway? He's pretty distant in the common route, I only warmed up to him after that cute hot chocolate scene.
The other routes aren't bad, just not as good. Definitely still worth reading. My main problem with them was none of them answered the questions I wanted answered and I thought the game had forgotten all about the plot, so having done Kobashi first might not be all bad for you.
The true route is about Zakuro's past and has a few more twists(one that'll you be able to guess beforehand). Its ending is also the most well rounded one, although it's very bittersweet.
Thanks, mate, I'll do that. As for why I chose Kobashi first, that'd be because I am a fan of delicious brown.
It's mildly difficult. I had a bit of a rocky start, but it smoothed over within half of a route.
Above average but not too hard. It's more kanji play and unusual kanji for simple words than difficult vocab. If you're good with spoken Japanese it shouldn't be a problem. At most some of the nuances or double meanings will be lost on you.
Some examples are 幸せ is 仕合わせ, 食べる is 喰べる, 体 is 躯 and 々 isn't used to signify repetition of a kanji, it's always two of the same kanji instead (for example 中々 is 中中).
An excellent reason and excellent taste. Post your thoughts on it when you're done, I'd love to hear them.
Why make bets when they already have very well established characters over the years? and some of the princes are not even that popular anymore but they still have fans, so making more bets means losing money. They made a bet with the senpais with Debut and failed, only to fully make Utapri recover as a whole with All Star.
I want Raging Otori's younger kid to have a route though, his 5 seconds in S3 made me interested.
I find the story to be more engaging if the MC is voiced, or at least have more personality than being a doormat.
Excepting TMGS, all my favorite otome games are ones with MCs that have a strong presence in the story.
>There's no way that drawing is harder than learning an entire language.
Considering learning how to draw takes more than memorization and maybe a other few minor things, it's harder to learn how to draw. Some people are good at drawing from the start so that might be why you said that but others can't draw worth a damn. You're right in that drawing and learning Japanese is different however you're assuming that someone could even hold a pencil still.
It's worthless. There's no point passing anything below N3, and still then it's no problem just going straight from zero to N2 if you have time to dedicate to studying.
And hell, how the fuck did you manage to learn half a thousand kanji but fail N5? Is it at all possible to fail N5? I heard some people passed it just by rushing through the grammar and kanji dictionary in a few days before the exam. And 500 kanji should amount to a few thousand dictionary words at the very least. Are you sure you memorised those kanji?
Does Heavens count? I doubt they made such a big fuss about them in the anime without any plans for the games. Though that's like what, 18 princes? Seems a bit overboard even for an otome series.
I know of at least one person who apparently moved there so she could see musicals and stuff live. Honestly, I'd like to have easy access to doujin/secondhand game stores and the ability to see movies and seiyuu events live/ASAP, but there's no way I could actually live in a country where people would hate me automatically for being a foreigner.
Not that I'd blame them.
> Why was this post deleted
I wanted to shitpost, but then realised I picked a bad subject. And I don't like twintails, in any case.
> le japs are all nazis meme
On average, the Japanese are actually less xenophobic than Yanks; yes, I am speaking from experience. You are just too entitled; hell, a common complain about Japan I hear from Yanks is that English is rarely spoken fluently in Japan — I mean, mother of fuck, do you even know how you sound when you spout shit like that?
When I said "who would", I meant it in two ways: first, it's not really possible to be fluent in just reading and listening, you must also have some practice expressing yourself in the language to really feel comfortable with it, and second, I never actually expected that there would be people who wouldn't become interested in the culture associated with the language after learning it; you really did surprise me there.
Don't listen to English teachers, there's nothing stopping you from getting a decent job… if you fluently speak the language. It's weird that people expect accommodation in this respect.
If you're in an in-demand field you can get away with knowing next to no Japanese (particularly fields like programming/computer science), but otherwise yeah you really need to be at least functional with the language.
Having your skills be in demand doesn't mean that your options won't be limited if you can't meaningfully communicate with most people in any given general environment. And besides, for many it's not just inability to speak the language, but unwillingness to integrate themselves in the community. Many still speak of the country as being foreign despite having lived in it for years and decades. I guess the reason why Yanks see immigrants as unwilling to adapt to their new countries is in no small part due to projecting.
I only understood that you were implying le social awkwardness meme after I replied to you, but given how changing a country for the sake of enhanced masturbating experience is a very bad decision in any case, I guess this conversation has been pointless from the beginning.
Hey, don't make fun of my devotion to cute 2D boys with amazing voices!
That aside, I didn't mean to imply anything. I meant that if there was someone from here moving to Japan, they'd surely not be unwilling to learn the language and try to integrate as they actually want to go to things like VA events and similar, and need a decently paying job to afford their hobby. Most likely that person already knows a fair bit Japanese from various 2D media.
Which is why I said that this isn't relevant to here at all.
The Tourabu event is actually kind of fun. The first event I like.
Ah no, no, I meant I couldn't pass it if I ever tried. I have done practice sections online and I know I can't properly parse a N5 sentence.
If I go to a website like http://www.tanos.co.uk/jlpt/ and gauge my vocabulary and kanji knowledge, I know all of the N5 and most of the N4 ones, and the rest of what I know is scattered throughout all the other levels. It's just that I haven't studied grammar. I don't know the conjugation of verbs and such. I learned through Wanikani but on Anki.
But since you say it's so easy to pass the N5 then maybe I could. Not that I want to. I'm aware of how useless certification on that level is. I don't really ever want to take the JLPT to begin with. I just wanna date 2d characters.
the certification is only useful if you want to actually work in Japan, and only a N1 (and maybe N2) is actually useful. I don't see the point of going for anything lower than an N2, you can buy a game with how much they charge you to write the test (in my area anyway).
It's more about sword management than RNG.
Like, there's a set amount of enemy waves you have to defeat. Before every battle begins, you can choose to
>continue on normally
>heal swords (cash shop item)
>change your team to one of your secondary ones
The maps change to night battle/small spaces(I think on set times? like, the last map of E3 is always one in a room) so you can change your team to shotas when it changes.
Also, you see the changes when you get the option to change in the backgrounf so it's no
>guess which map you get next
You can not change back to a team that you exchanged before.
There is also not a results screen after every battle and there's no map so it feels way faster than previous events. You just beat the enemy, go to the next one, choose what to do, repeat.
After beating enemies, you collect a set amount of balls(?) for which you get nice cash shop rewards, the new night winter background and some rarer swords.
The maps available right now are a bit easy, but the hardest one will be added tomorrow so hopefully that one will be challenging.
For some reason they added three new sword slots, and it's the first time there's not a one number gap between them.
Toku Ni Tourabu version soon?
From the comments on the wiki, it looks like he does have a toku ni.
I agree, finally a challenge for the strategic minds and not for the ones with the biggest dumb luck, thank God.
I think that is a mistake, unless they want to release a third tachi right after Higekiri and Hizamaru.
I hope the fourth map has better reward, even if they kick my swords'sorry asses.
Surely I can get Hizamaru in 10 days if I keep with 4000-5000 balls at day.
Just started playing dot kareshi
What do you guys think of it and who is best boy?
Looks boring, but I'll still watch it.
>that Akito dream scene
It's a fun and short game. All of them were alright, some better than others. I personally liked magician.
Cute, if a bit short. Demon Lord's my favorite.
Who is superior Sakurai brother?
Diabetes Sakurai or Westaboo Sakurai?
I love them both but Ruka takes the cake.
>you'll never princess carry your girly
>CCP gets fucked by the pig he was supposed to slaughter for dinner
>Hasebe finds CCP moping, wonders what happened and goes to the pig's pen
>Hasebe gets fucked by the pig
>CCP watches Hasebe get fucked by the pig and Hasebe starts sucking CPP's dick
>pig finishes and then CCP starts fucking hasebe
>pig comes back and mounts CCP as he's fucking Hasebe
>Hasebe slashes the pigs throat
>pig's dead, the end.
I personally read it because it was hilarious.
The one with Hasebe and a horse was pretty hot though.
Doujin with swords being fucked by oversized bugs when? Once when I was browsing Panda I came across the CGs to a game in which girls had sex with large insects, and it was morbidly interesting.
> for the sole discussion of English translated Japanese visual novels
I hate holidays.
I need my daily dose of updates and news, but every second company has holidays.
>finally a challenge for the strategic minds and not for the ones with the biggest dumb luck
Yeah, I like that the extreme RNG fuckery isn't there. My current problem is not having a good enough side team for expert mode that I can use for the first 4 levels before switching to the shotas (My best team isn't strong enough to brute force the entire thing ), but that's just my own fault for not taking enough advantage of the leveling maps.
Even though I'm not very interested in Gahkthun for the time being, I'd like to see it discussed here. From what I've heard about it I agree that it seems close enough. Mostly I just want to see the thread actually discussing games and not being dead.
Can we expect the C:R anime for april? though I'm a bit cautious about it because I can only count three otome anime that were good-fun enough. Even if C:R is a great game, the common route is way longer than your usual 5h for 1 cour shows. If they only decide to adapt the common route then it has potential to be good, but that + Lupin route would be an absolute clusterfuck. I want it to have 24-26 episodes but we all know it won't be the case.
I've played the demo.
So far I felt similar to it as I did Inganock; interesting worldbuilding I want to explore, great characters I want to watch, and writing that bores me to tears. It's frustrating because I really want to enjoy it. I do intend to eventually play the full game though and look forward to seeing more of the two leads.
I've been waiting for a Hanae sword, and this was completely worth the wait. So elegant and relaxed in such an adorable way.
I made the stupid mistake to try to level up most my swords in a similar pace. I have about ten swords lvl 45-50, twelve swords lvl 60-65, seven 65+ and only 6 above lvl 80.
I guess the last stage isn't for me ;_;
You should be able to clear the maps using two teams of 60 - 70 Waki and Uchi mix, maybe with an oodachi or two.
Giving them Gold shields and Gold Archers/ Stone Throwers should be able to help clear the maps?
There are, although the Wakis do pretty okay in the night maps.
I'm not too sure how well you'll do with more Uchis since my team was 4 waki, 1 uchi, 1 oodachi. Try a test run on E4 first?
Or stay at E3 till you've leveled up enough?
For those that have played BAW, is the language simple enough for someone with a somewhat basic grasp of Japanese?
If not, are there any other school life related games that you would recommend?
I was wondering if anyone could help me find a nice game to play with my friend? I like otome and she likes eroge (ironic seeing as we like genres and aren't their target audience) And was wondering if theres any games out there with a fusion or something so that both of us could like it? I tend to hate playing eroge with her, and she tends to hate playing otome with me so it's hard to reach a point where both of us enjoy it. Some of my fave otomes are Amnesia, Taisho Alice, and Bad apple wars. Her fave eroge are Yume Miru Kusuri, Monster Girl Quest, and Saya no Uta. They don't have to be like those, but thought i'd list some if it might help? Sorry if this is an unreasonable request! I know /vn/ is probably a better place to ask but it feels like even uttering the word otome there is like a death flag.
I'm going to second Gahkthun and suggest Sharnoth if you both like it. Hatoful Boyfriend is also worth a try. I don't suggest Starless or Euphoria since they aren't even remotely close to what you want, though Euphoria is good.
Thank you! We played both of the Hatoful Boyfriend games together, it's one of the few otomes she really enjoyed. She had a lot of praise for the BBL storyline and Shuu's route especially! I showed her the games that were suggested and she seemed to be interested in Euphoria and Gahkthun. We both weren't really interested in Starless yeah... She especially seemed to like the idea of playing as/dating Tesla. The moment I read the character page she freaked out that Tesla's in it and said she wanted to date him heh. I'll be sure to keep Sharnoth in mind! I think we'll play Gahkthun as soon as i can get my hands on it!
I won't let the year end without another Tourabu thread.
If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious to know why she doesn't like otome stuff. I mean, for me personally I prefer BL over Otome but I can't really explain why very well.
In other news, has /blog/ played stuff by Sugar beans before? Any opinions?
If you're a gay man you obviously will prefer BL, even though BL games are written for woman as well. I'm 50/50, in the end I start games of both these genres but drop most of it.
For one, I can only imagine a girl liking eroge so much because she's a bi-lesbian.
>playing VNs together
>having to wait hours to post this because 4chan ded
It'd be the biggest feature ever for an otome franchise, but can it reach that high? it's already way higher than the average but I don't think it'll pass that point. Unless Broccoli ever tries to make Utapri something more than an otome, there's the MUSIC games but they're too simple. Just now they're changing to Vita, if they made games like P4DAN or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr6gps9xFgA maybe it could go even higher.
I guess that there's that barrier of them being cute boys, not cute girls. It's not weird for girls to enjoy other girl groups, but with guys liking boysbands it's weird. And they're still not that mainstream like the guy groups that appear there.
In the 4th live all of the VAs were surprised to see guys in the crowd, but obviously they're like 5% of the fanbase. Maybe there's the possibility they just like the songs and play the musics games, but these guys are minimal. Their lives fill Yokohama-Budokan without problems, but filling Tokyo Dome would be the greatest step.
That's neat. I didn't see it, but I recall having cartoon OPs and EDs being performed in previous shows. I really think all Broccoli needs to do it simply open the door. It'd be fun as fuck to have concerts with the princes and senpais.
Hey /blog/, I bought some extra copies of NTY to give away for New Year's. I've got 5 total so I'm doing two just for /blog/ and three on Twitter. So if you want a copy of NTY but haven't/couldn't buy one yet for whatever reason, just uh, I guess reply to this post with your e-mail and maybe why you want it or something. I'll pick some people tomorrow probably.
I just played Code; Realize and I really liked it. Should I get Norn9 or Amnesia next? I've heard kind of mixed views about both, which is the least bad?
>Did 3 pulls on Yume100 using tickets and only got 3* which I already have
>Did 10 pulls on Idolish7 since they temporarily removed the generic characters and got Ten Christmas SSR and few new SR which clogged up the inventory unless I managed to pull another one
I don't if this is lucky or not
>Did 3 more pulls on Idolish7 using 5 gems and 10 tickets trying to get another copy for those new SR
>Got Nagi Ainana Gakuen R , Nagi Day Off SSR and Nagi Christmas SSR
That's more of a personal opinion, of course. She has her good moments but in some parts she acted exactly like some flat chested tsundere from LNs. Some people don't like Koharu air headness for an example, but I think her story and development are decent enough.
All of them have really nice scenes when they're together, especially Mikoto with Nanami.
>in some parts she acted exactly like some flat chested tsundere from LNs
Oh, I see what you mean. Tsunderes can be pretty hit or miss.
Thanks for the info, fampire.
Yeah, my friends a bi-lesbian, and vastly prefers girls over guys. She likes a few otome guys, like Shuu from Hatoful and Kaoru from Hakuoki but most of the time there aren't ones that are really her type. I thought she liked Yandere guys the most but it has to be a certain yandere. Like Toma is shit to her (I agree desu) She's also tried a few yuri routes in otomes but doesn't seem to like them as much as eroge girls. At least she seems to like Tesla, she seems excited to play Gahkthun.
Can't believe I forgot that game existed. I've been meaning to play that for awhile. Quick question though. Should you play Queen of Darkness before TSR or is it fine to just jump into the second? QoD's artstyle really turns me off.
First playthrough was pretty enjoyable, but the routes follow a similar template and it becomes tedious. Basically yet another game ruined by copy-paste. My favorite boy was probably either Ame or Kairi personally.
>Also why is the common route so long?
If anything, I felt common route was hella short. It could have benefited from being longer in order to develop the bonds among the group more, as well as flesh out the interesting setting.
Tiny, but I found a shot of the NTY new year's card (seems they're including them with orders from the online shop now). I hope Amemiya posts it on Twitter later. It looks adorable.
Diabetes is actually uninspired trash, a shitty character who is always pushed into your face at the start of each play through, and I try to get rid of him as soon as possible.
Judo > fashion Kouhai > westaboo >>> piano > megane >>> diabetes
Not really a full route, but baseball is also super moe.
The characters are cute and the interactions are fun. Romance takes a backseat to sports and is pretty minimal, largely confined to the endings. The matches suffer from not being very visual; mostly shown as arrows moving along a map. Each day you have to select your practice partner for the day, which eventually gets very tedious.
Although I miss the sleekness of the game character designs, if the anime includes plenty of fun character shenanigans and goes all out on actually showing the matches then it could potentially be an improvement.
>be new years eve
>romancing 2d male prostitutes
Surprisingly not a bad game so far. Sucks that the English version has no voices.
I've seen this getting negative comments in /blog/ before, which make sense cause as far as I understand it's just a 20+ dollar mobile port. But then I checked the store page:
> -67% off on steam
I guess they're already getting desperate.
For me it was one of those games I'd thrown on my steam wishlist for the hell of it without seriously thinking of buying it anytime soon, so I was surprised when a friend had gifted it to me for christmas. With this price tag it makes more sense.
I need more of drunk Christian beside him talking to a wall.
And Happy New Year /blog/!
> Saya no Uta
Is this game at all enjoyable to people who aren't terribly insecure male pedophiles trying to deal with their issues by asserting dominance over powerless women? That's surprising to say the least.
The sad thing is that the game is glorifying escapism, and once you realise that, the horrory parts start looking pitifully laughable. Ah, well, it's not like that hack Urobuchi was ever capable of writing anything but bad porn with embarrassing themes.
Finished C:R and it was very good, I can't wait for the fandisk, but I doubt Aksys will localize it though, which is a shame for the western fans that don't know moonrunes.
Out of curiosity, when it was out I noticed people overall disliked Saint-Germain, might I ask why? he was my second favorite after Lupin. Least favorite was Impey but probably because of Nemo.
I don't see why Aksys wouldn't translate it, or the Norn9 FD, given time. Is there a game with a sequel that they haven't done? If shit like the Agarest series can get a translation then I don't see why not.
Wasn't Hakuouki Zuisouroku the only otome fandisk brought in the west? and it was because of the PS3 bundle. I'm not that familiar with the small otome market in the west, I only buy what I think it's decent (I'm still sour I bought Amnesia on release date only to end up hating it, damn popularity)
He being my least favorite has less to do with him and mostly because the route seemed a bit filler and Nemo. To be fair it's one of these otomes that I ended up liking everyone a lot and the common route was really pleasant to read because of their banter/friendship.
We only had Hakuoki and SF, and Hakuoki was the only one with FDs. I think the PS3 version was mostly published because it was the only FD in a viable platform. Weren't the other ones in the DS? And no one localizes games for a Nintendo platform once Nintendo drops its support.
I guess it's because he comes off as shady for all of the common route and then his route starts out unpleasantly. I can get people having trouble warming up to him after that. Personally he was my second favorite too.
I get you, I played his route first and after playing the rest, I felt the same about his route being filler.
Kinda related, I wish that it wasn't everything that happened in Lupin's route. I get that he's the main guy, but what happens to stuff like Finis, Victoria's keikaku, and Idea in all the other routes? They seem like they'd be unavoidable no matter who you end up with.
>it's one of these otomes that I ended up liking everyone a lot
Same here. All of the guys were really sweet.
> buying games before playing them
I'm embarrassed to breath the same air as you.
>playing no Vita games at all
Sure must be great to miss like 90% Otome of all Otome games last year.
Ah, right, consoles exist. Keep forgetting about that.
How do you play any games at all? I do that with non-VNs, I check previews and trailers and decide if it's worth. VNs actually need a double check indeed, and I could've pirated Amnesia easily because I know runes enough to play things. My bad indeed.
Your message appears to be mixed and I'm not quite sure as to what did you want to say.
>buying games before playing them
Simply asking how you play games at all, you cannot pirate everything released.
I pirate everything I can, and what I can't I either ask other people to give me or let go. I bought two games during the last eight years, and regretted that in both cases (one of them was New Vegas, to elaborate on the point).
The system is inefficient and corrupt, there's no point in prolonging its existence in its current state.
