I can only think of two real examples of sexism in all the games that have been released. HM3(Game ends when you marry if you play as a girl, but doesn't if you play as a boy) and AWL/AnWL(In a cutscene that MIGHT happen in chapter 4) First one is really the only one that's even remotely a big deal. That's a pretty damn good track record for such a long-standing franchise.

Watering twice increases the speed of the growth but it isn't necessary. You need to water at least once.

Watering them twice makes them grow quicker. If you look on the seed bag the lower number listed is the days needed if you water twice a day.

If your using fertilizer you don't want to water that crop twice because it shortens the amount of fertilizer you can use before you have to harvest it.

AWL and Rune Factory the first..

Rented AnWL and fell in love with the comfy feeling it gave me so much I had to have it. That was what hooked me on the series.

With Rune Factory, both my brother and I were counting down the days until the release. We both went to get it the first day it came out, and had a lot of fun dicking around the the shell local-connect station.

Doesn't really matter if the crop you're using to make seeds is fresh. It might be even better than just fertilizer alone.

Using just lumber for building is inefficient.

I pretty much hoard everything, and build what I can build. For example, gardening. If I have spare flowers and soft soil/brick/iron, I make flower baskets and flower pots. Hoard any sakura/pine/maidenhair branches? Make trees if you have lots of brick to spare.

Use stone for paths and fences. You need the lumber more for gardening and wallpapers/flooring and all the stone you get pretty much just sits in your storage until you use it for something.

I'd keep at it. Most Harvest Moon games get better the more you play them. It took me a while to get into Island of Happiness, but once I finally did, it was all I played for two months straight.

If you bought the 3DS version and it keeps crashing like the other anon mentioned, then try an emulation of the DS version. I've never had issues eith my DS ToTT crashing.

This isn't a technical improvement, but I think the simplicity of HM makes it comfy. It's hard to get that in SOS because of all the things thrown at you from the start (I just now have gotten close to it because I have more money/trade vendors so I don't have to do tons of things a day) but in older games it's nice/calm to get into the rhythm. Although, when coming from RF to HM, it's really hard to readjust

On one end, you get a comfy farm game and life simulator. Run a simple farm or establish an agricultural empire; the choice is yours. On the other end, you have an RPG with farming as a second job.

They were made (until now) by two completely different companies. HM deals mostly with slight incremental improvements, while changing certain mechanics, much like Pokemon. RF, on the other hand, has been doing sequential improvements to pretty much all its systems, so by RF4 it's a damn good game.

Does anyone know what kind of things in SOS trigger crashes or corrupted save files? I've seen people talk about their games crashing or losing their saves, and the more I play the more concerning it is, so I just want to know if there's stuff I should avoid (besides turning the game off while it's saving or some shit)

I suspect that it's a memory leak problem that was either overlooked or something they haven't fixed due to time constraints and/or hardware constraints.

Teleport somewhere first (via horse) to avoid this.

Does the maze in RF3 have rare high-level weapons in it?

Also, what was your luckiest find in the maze (in 4 or 3)? Mine was probably the wolf gloves and this big-ass hammer that looks like a giant spiky log with 10000+ attack or something like that. I think I also found a 4 Dragons Vest in the maze, and a crown with 100% Faint resist, which really came in handy vs. the Siren.

And I played the new Harvest Moon, A New Beginning for 3DS, the Village Construction Simulator.

Story of Seasons is very much like the older HM games. It's a bit of a step down compared to something like RF4, but still an okay game.

It's difficult to say if you'll like it because they added some questionable things to pad out the games length. SoS is much slower in the beginning and will require grinding to unlock things near end game.

Less grind near the end and it's more forgiving in the beginning because you don't use as much stamina to do things.

The stamina system is really brutal when you first start out and have nothing to help you out. It becomes somewhat irrelevant later, but it's a real problem for some players when they first start out.
