I think that is fine, Dishonored is kinda running its course. What else could they really do with it other than adding a ton of supernatural basic enemies? It would really change the stealth/feel of the game in a bad way. Let Arkane send it off, move onto a new IP and setting.

The second one sold like shit and they're gonna go back in time and save the Outsider from dying so that he doesn't become one with the void. They're gonna retcon everything and it's gonna be how the series ends.

Daud swore to never enter dunwall again, we will get a new setting. My bet is on the continent pandyssia, the one with an incident that we don't know of yet. granny rags learned black magic through this incident and got her powers through the outsider which is all canon. This probably means that the outsider is somehow involved and could potentially make him the bad guy.

Daud is going there if he wants to remove the outsiders soul, what we saw in the flashback of the outsiders death was an acient civilication and this continent is described as uninhabited (assumption) and there was once an ancient civ and temples.

The lore of the game states a lot about this place and there is apperantly an exploration taking place to reclaim the land but it's extremely difficult because of various creatures that are already described in detail.

It'd make no fucking sense to reveal so much little by little just to drop the idea

The Outsider in 2 was voiced and modeled after the guy who plays The Penguin in Gotham hence the changes in appearance and voice.

I bought DH1 and DH2 full price and enjoyed them but I think this is going to be shit. It had less than a year of development time, unless they heavily reuse assets they won't have time to make a quality game. I'm also kinda Disapointed they apparently chosed to end the franchise, I really would have loved another game set in yet another country with a whole new cast of characters. I'm kinda bored with them reusing the same characters, they failed to get me to like them.

The Outsider is the current entity that exists as a god-like being in the Void. It's not about her being a black woman in itself, it's about the agenda behind it. In the West, a black woman is the peak race/gender combination for progressiveness (bonus points if she's gay), and that combination means she is totally infallible and perfect in all ways. Note that she is likely to kill the Outsider, the most powerful being in the Dishonored universe. That essentially means it's asserting that she, as a black woman, is the most powerful character in the franchise. If she were just another protag it wouldn't be as big a deal, but no, she's THE BEST protag. Because she's a black woman.

Also she's ugly as fuck, even by Dishonored standards. In fact she's even less attractive than she has previously been. A typical practice of Western devs when it comes to women is to make them as such so as to avoid 'sexualizing' them, and to appeal to feminazi crowd who can't stand seeing females more attractive than themselves.

I have a background in sales and marketing, so I always think it's interesting to look at the sales figures of video games and how they're marketed to their target audience. I feel like this DLC is shooting itself in the foot preemptively from a business perspective by featuring a protagonist that is similar in ethnicity/gender/physical characteristics to probably less than 1% of the game's likely audience.

All things considered, this is one of many factors that will lead to this release being a sales disappointment.
