What are you most excited about?
Reminder that Abu Centr Al-Bradford is a terrorist and a threat to mankind's salvation.
friendly reminder that civilians can now turn into these fuckers that are like as high as a building
friendly reminder that Gatekeepers automatically revive fallen enemies AND friends as zombies
friendly reminder that Chrysalids no longer make zombies, instead they make a cocon out of their pray, which erupts into 3 other Chrysalids.
friendly reminder that Chrysalids can now burrow into ground and move through concrete
friendly reminder that Sectoids now have mind control right from the start of the game
friendly reminder that Berserkers now can now move two times farther than normal move range
friendly reminder that the Ayys now have Big Daddies, who can literally bust through walls, and spews acid
friendly reminder that they also have Striders
Daily reminder our superior ayy lmao husbandos will uplift us and together we shall destroy XCOM scum
It just would not be xcom if a fuck ton of shit was being throw at me.
Do we have any confirmed report of friendly fire be it enemy or otherwise?
>chryssalid infections got nerfed
What good is a goddamned cocoon?
>snek walks up to you
>says she'll give you sex and blowies for life if you join advent
what do you do?
I'm cut, and I don't think I've ever had a good blowjob. When a tongue is on my cockhead I feel a small amount of pleasure, but mostly it just feels like something wet and kinda rough being dragged across it. A tongue on my shaft doesn't feel like anything.
Sex would be nice, but snake genitalia is kinda gross m8
What mods/total conversions do you want?
Pic fucking related
FUCK THE FUCKING COUNCIL
AFTER FUCKING HOURS OF MY LIFE IN IRONMAN I MANAGE TO BUILD THE GOLLOP CHAMBER AND THEN THE COUNCIL FUCKING SAYS TOO MANY HAVE LEFT AND THE GAME FUCKING ENDS
WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT
xcom breeding program
xcom 1 with xcom 2 units.
They came to the wrong planet.
>What are you most excited about?
The customization, can create some mad rosters and unique weapons. Weapons are dropped when a soldier is killed so you have to retrieve it along with it's unique modifications. The weapon is then passed on. It can even be named.
I'm also really looking forward to the gameplay changes. In Enemy Unknown, the combat was slow and methodical. You had to advance slowly until you "discovered" a pod, then you did everything you could to maintain a defensive line while you figured out your approach.
In XCOM 2, you're the aggressor and you can advance quickly while setting up ambushes. ADVENT also sends in dropships as reinforcements right on top of you. So basically you have to be way more aggressive rather than slow and cautious this time.
>What good is a goddamned cocoon?
I never once saw a zombie turn into a 'lid during my first campaign in Enemy Within. The reason being that they just slowly lumbered towards me and got shot to pieces.
I wouldn't see why not. Grenadier replaces the rockets, so it will be a little different. Instead of wildly missing with an on-point direct rocket, you will no launch in an arch with grenades.
Friendly splash damage is in - that much is obvious. I doubt you can accidentally "shoot" your soldiers because of the mechanics of it, unless you directly target them for whatever reason.
I'm getting so sick and tired of seeing 2K pimp the XCOM version of Pewdiepie. It's killing the game for me. /xcg/ is basically a streamer ego jerk fest.
Not him, but it's pretty obviously some life action version of the Jin-Roh movie. I think there were more than one of those, actually.
At any rate, google "Jin-Roh live action" and it should land you with some results. I strongly recomend watching the original Jin-Roh anime before watching the life action stuff though.
>It's killing the game for me
And its selling the game to hundreds of other people. Get used to it and just don't watch it/visit when he's playing or find somewhere else to discuss XCOM
>That uppercut on the downed beserker
I did like how you get a special animation for killing Sectopods despite the fact that killing it with the punch will hurt your MEC.
As lame as it sounds I'd love some sort of Special Forces vs Terrorism complete overhaul mod. Rescuing hostages, attacking splinter cells in the desert, and defusing bombs in the middle of stadiums.
Okay, you guys of all people should be able to help, how do I get get good at Enemy Unknown?
Just gets to a point where I can't do shit, started Europe and get people killed all the fucking time, low on cash, and only 1 good gal in the entire squad.
Something like this and an Ayy recruitment mod. Thankfully a 3d model has already been made.
Not even released yet. /vg/ was to stop the endless LoL, SC2, and Mass Effect 2 threads eating the front page. It can be for this too, but it's not among the many that were eating up the front page, and isn't a game with tournaments and stuff that would result in ten posts per second.
It's sounds, animations, and especially visuals are pretty disturbing, but the worst thing is that it
replaces civvies on terror missions
Like I said, the 3d model is out there somewhere and can be downloaded. Someone already re-purposed it for lewd, so I'm hopeful that someone will do the same for this game
The Faceless disguise themselves as civilians on terror missions and transform when you get too close to them. The only way to tell them apart from the real civvies are with battle scanners or by seeing if they run away when an alien gets close to them.
what the fuck
thats not hideous at all
thats actually qt as fuck
this may actually work!
It looks and acts terrifying too.
On terror missions, there's now a minimum amount of civilians that you have to rescue, which means that you HAVE to approach them. Combined with the fact that you have only one way of telling fake civilians from real ones(and that's seeing if they run away from aliens or not), you will constantly be gambling whether a civilian is a squadwipe in disguise.
The best part? If you try to mob each civilian, and end your turn close to the faceless, he'll transform during his move and get a full turn, which is effectively a death sentence for one squad member.
Beagle went completely nuts on just one .ini file and changed the game drastically. Seeing as we're getting 50 gigs of assets, code access, etc, a remake of UFO Defense is just small time for what's possible.
It's the first game in a while where two different groups of people enjoy killing ayyliens together.
doubt it, here's what they said about it a few months ago
>"We're providing a tool for Steam that anyone who buys the game will be able to get," McFall said at Firaxicon. "It works kind of like the mod tools for Civilization." The nuts and bolts: XCOM 2 players will not only have access to a Visual Studio isolated shell app for building mod projects, they will also have access to the Unreal editor Firaxis used to build the game as well as the script source code and roughly 50 GB of game assets.
>A response to a fan question even confirmed that the possibility for a modder-created co-op mode is there, with tools “robust” enough to make it happen as long as players provide their own matchmaking server.
The first thing I'm going to mod in are better health bars(possibly just a copy from EU).
That's the number one thing I dislike right now about the game, you can't tell an enemies health from the very first glance. Sectopod has 30 health all on ONE bar. It just makes no sense.
Giant killer robots of doom > body modifications
Don't forget to spot Shen's eagerness to reenact the chainsaw massacre on your soldiers limbs while simultaneously bashing the aliens for their creation of the floater and hoping that nothing like that ever happens
>Playing an escort mission
>Launch a rocket to destroy cover thin mints are hiding behind
>Goes off course
>Kills one of my men, and the VIP
>Half my squad panics
I understand RNG is kinda needed, but goddamn.
MECs definitely, they are incredibly powerful
Gene mods are so boring that I usually completely skip them. Its just a bland upgrade on a character.
And mimetic skin is the worst, it just breaks the whole game and is a crutch for shitters.
Really hyped for this which is a strange feeling seeing as almost everything that comes out lately is garbage.
It's almost like living in a dream where devs react in intelligent ways to fan feedback.
However it is a bit dissapointing to see certain things are somewhat derivative of the original. Terror missions are a big example of this, they are basically the exact same except with the addition of minimum civs saved. No fatigue so again you can run uber squads with no consequence.
Maybe it was too much to hope for a mission where X-Com goes and blows up alien civilians or something, but it's also dissapointing to see that the game seems to basically follow the same formula of missions. Even the way research is laid out seems similar, with "skulljacking" aka, probably capturing, being one of the first objectives.
Also your troops 'breaking the glass' on advent laser bars seems to be a persistent bug that will go on launch.
>makes the sneks squeal DARLING as they coil your dudes up
>No fatigue so again you can run uber squads with no consequence.
Well to a certain extent. If you get wounded it will take the character out for a long while. I watched a vid of Legend difficulty where a trooper went to 1hp and had a whopping 39 day recovery time.
>game seems to basically follow the same formula of missions
Now on this one I dont follow your logic. Yeah, terror missions are very similar, however otherwise missions seem like they've got the biggest upgrade. In XCOM2012 most of missions were "kill everything". This time almost every mission has an objective, sometimes a timer. You assassinate VIPs from Advent convoys, you destroy uplinks, disarm bombs, evacuate a VIP to a landing zone, etc.
I dont think they follow the formula at all.
In addition it's a really bizarre choice to have XCOM ballistic weapons doing nearly twice as much damage as advent weapons, which even on legendary seem to only do 3 damage on a hit.
XCOM magnetic weapons do over twice as much as the advent versions, this seems sort of a weird break in the worldbuilding vs. mechanics that didn't exist in EU/EW.
MECs are neat. They can't hide behind waist-high cover like normal soldiers can, though, they can only hide behind full-size shit that breaks line of sight entirely. Or one of their upgrades turns them into a mobile shieldwall for regular troops to hide behind
Half the gene mods were fairly useless and the other half were OP as fuck from what I remember. And you needed lots of Meld to make the mod squad.
Also gene modded soldiers look goofy--modding a soldier puts them into this bare-armed model. I guess they wanted to put in some new cosmetic options for genemodded, but did it in the laziest way.
I need Vietcom now
>dense jungle maps with wonky ass LOS breaking everywhere
>flamethrowers and incendiary grenades
>calling in airstrikes and gunships on enemy bunkers and hills
>Fortunate Son replaces the Overwatch music
You could get similar wound times in EU/EW but eventually projects cut down even the most grievous of wounds to a relatively short period.
I only gave terror missions as an example of being derivative because I think that they honestly didn't even need them. Terror missions didn't have to be in the game if they weren't going to mix it up like they did with all the other examples you've provided where they've done a great job keeping things more interesting.
>watching some stream
>xcom 2 ad
>final tagine is "join us or become them"
>ad doesn't even mention the story at all, it's just the box art and some lighting
What a crappy ad. Those are the stakes? If you don't join the resistance, you become an advanced alien lifeform? Sign me the fuck up.
Mm, I think Faceless are exactly the thing you need on terror missions to make them fresh again.
In XCOM2012 you could ignore civvies but now you have to save them. But in addition you also have to be careful about them being hideous monsters.
I think terror missions will be the least interesting, but even then they are better than before.
As for the squad thing, you're right. I wish there was some incentive to mix things up like characters getting debuffs if you bring them on multiple missions in a row, and those debuffs disappearing over time.
>No fatigue so again you can run uber squads with no consequence.
That's balanced out with FAR longer bench time from wounds, and the aliens have a lot more tools to fuck you up with just in general. Not to say we don't ether, but I'm starting to feel it's more their ballgame then ours you know? That new unit, the Gatekeeper, is going to be hell if it's armor is like 2-3 with a sizable chunk of health due towards just how much damage it can do with that beam + the multi-zombie ordeal. Zombies in this game are not units you want to take lightly as one can easly whip you for like 8 health, and killing them is pointless as they'll just get back up till you defeat the source.
But yeah, it's pretty clear that XCOM 2 is just XCOM EU/EW with enhancements...and honestly I'm OK with that. The refinement overall is already leaning towards a far less bullshit ( how was I to know I couldn't see the fag from there? ) and far more dynamic ( squad wondering around the base, squard get's different little personalty quips and affects lached onto them under use ) experience as well. There's stuff I do wish they would fix ( the breaking glass when there is no glass, still able to 'see' past walls at times, pods spawning in area's they can't move out of ) but overall I enjoyed EU/EW, and I can already see myself loving this.
I kind of get the feeling they know their player base with this one, and are focusing more on just pandering to that niche who already know all about it instead of going for wider audiences.
off yourself snek lovers
before i kill you myself
Come on guys, the snek girls can rehabilitate. We can make them betraye the dirty Ethereal and join us in our holy crusade.
Can we at least try? Its all the Ethereal fault, snake waifus are victims, like us.
None of you faggots wanted to recruit or fug em when they were thin men, why the change of heart over a simple addition of tits?
I feel like the Advent in general are more a Riot squad then anything else? Sure, electric batons is pretty harsh, but none of their weapons directly scream "We want to kill you on sight". I think they are set more for 'stun' then direct slaughter...even if in turn they aren't able to acually cuff and capture your units directly ( or if they are, no one's showed this factor off yet ). In earnest they aren't much better off then the police in modern age. They have guns, but they aren't magnums or high powered assault rifles ether.
i wonder who could be behind these snek posts
It makes a whole lot of sense really. I'm usually not a buyfag but I have for this because I like the way they've gone about things and because I liked the original a whole lot.
Satellites are still priority. But in missions you can't fucking slow crawl your way forward. You're on a time limit. Gotta find that sweet sweet goo so you can build robots and shit.
Don't build both of the new buildings, pick one or the other. If you're investing goop into building mec troopers you won't have enough to make the gene mod lab worthwhile and vice versa.
Personally I prefer Mec.
>all these race traitors
Sad to see that ADVENTs propoganda actually worked. Then again, I doubt these men would have actually become productive members of XCOM if given the chance, so nothing is lost.
>not giving in to the Ayys
I want the GLA soundtrack from C&C Generals and the Dawn of War IG voice pack.
>Implying I'd give up humanity for the snek pussy
Saying that I wouldn't mind a Viper sex slave. Just there every day when you get home to provide you food and give you a blowjob/rimjob combo with that tongue.
Now I want a cinematic recording feature: it saves your mission playthrough then lets you see it as a single uninterrupted vid, cinematic cam style without any UI or turn switches.
You're essentially immune to mind control if you have a high willpower. As we've seen, Sweaterman is a tough motherfucker who don't play around. The dude practically kept XCOM together by himself when the Ayys took over and even went out on the field himself planting bombs and shit.
who took that picture of the three naked in the bathroom?
>Try enemy within online for the first time
>Have a bit of variety in my squad, a couple of mechtoids, a MEC, a couple of squishy soldiers, and a squadsight sniper
>The other guy tries some dumb as fuck tactic with three plasma snipers and a sectoid
>Completely annihilate him as he hides behind cars like a dumbfuck and I blow them all up
>The daughter is literally a copy of the mother with no genetic input from the dad
I'm actually getting pissed off at this a little bit. Not to mention it's always a daughter. Can't artists realize that some of us want sons?
When people start modding the game I hope they add a bunch of it as extra cosmetic stuff instead of just swapping models.
Like I would want my sword ranger to be an armored knight, but not my shotgun ranger or the rest of my squad. And I would really love if my psy soldier was wearing a big dumb sectoid mascot costume.
Monster Mushitme is the cancer of the universe and everyone liking it should be gunned down in the streets like the pathetic dickless degenerative shitposting cucks that they are. Shitting up both the Xcom and MGS threads with your gutter shit tier cartoon.
If it makes any difference to you, the snake women on that show can't have sons, they're a female only race that basically reproduces by abducting human males to use as breeding studs. The one who's a main character is just an exchange student who wants a traditional human-esque marriage because shes a humanboo.
I wish people would stop posting it so much.
Are they just fishing for (You)'s?
This means nothing to me. So it isn't something that can be modded in?
TURN THEM INTO SEX SLAVES
POLLUTE THEIR WOMBS WITH YOUR EARTHLY SEED AS THEY CRY FIRST IN ANGER AND FEAR, THEN IN MIND BROKEN LUST FOR HUMAN COCK
>You will never have a son that becomes a jedi on his own and risks his life to turn you over to the good side
how do I git gud at EW? I love the game but I suck so badly at it. The base management aspects of it anyway.
What if we just cut out the middle man and just killed them all you degenerate?
There are no male lamia in this setting which also explain your first complain. As lamias can only mate with other species taking on too much genetic material from the father could lead to awkward and unwanted mutations.
It's simple Latin, have you never been to church you faithless wretch?
Don't let barneyfag catch wind of that.
I don't want him shitting up X-Com threads too.
Is it just me or do the snek's seem like completely weak enemies compared to thin men? They miss all the time with their tongue, they don't have hyper accurate shots and they can't seem to dodge shots as well either.
Sneks are weak.
It means instead of taking turns alternating both sides plot out what they want to do and then take their turn at the same time.
It might be possible to mod it in , though it would require a total conversion of the game mechanics.
I'm taking a crack at ironman and it's going pretty well so far, but I just did a covert op where I fucked Exalt up the ass but it says my agent was KIA even though I got him into the extraction zone, with the cause of death being 'major trauma (unknown)'.
Is this Xcom being Xcom (I don't know, he fell out of the skyranger or some shit) or is it a legit bug? He wasn't my best guy but he was pretty decent.
>all these snekfags
fucking heresy against the true prophet bradford
That would be too much. I just want seamless transition from action to another when watching the recording, as in it does not record all that wasted time when you were planning out your move, selecting a skill and etc. So it will still be a sequence of events, not simultaneous.
Anyone has a modded .ini for Long War?
I redownloaded the game but when I remembered the chore of modding the mod into somethining not retarded it killed my drive to play
>That should be very easy
I hope so. Would look glorious without requiring you to manually cut out footage from a vid yourself.
CHAIN THEM UP AND FILL THEM WITH YOUR LUST
Air combat and durations related to it. Such magnificent design...
That's a bug, rare but especially annoying in ironman since there's no way to avoid it retroactively. Just make sure you send nobodies as your agents so if they disappear like that it doesn't matter too much.
A HUMAN GIRL CAN'T GIVE ME A BLOWJOB AND TONGUE MY ASSHOLE AT THE SAME TIME
I'm doing an ironman playthrough and I've reached the endgame without having been given the chrysalid harbor mission yet, what gives.
So wheres her....you know....located?
Under her hips or further down the tail?
I don't get why people think that mission is so bad. I mean maybe if you get it really early on a high difficulty or something, but every time I've done it it's been fairly straightforward.
IT'S LESS HOT WHEN IT'S TWO GIRLS. NO HUMAN WOMAN CAN SWALLOW YOUR CUM AND TASTE THE INSIDE OF YOUR COLON AT THE SAME TIME.
Who the fuck said alien DNA you wanker, they made weaponry running on fusion reactors capable of fueling the whole earth, they can make a hot as fuck gal or guy to satisfy your needs.
MAKING YOUR OWN PERSONAL SLUT IS HERETICAL, YEAH, BUT MAKING IT HUMAN INSTEAD OF SOME VORE ENTHUSIASTIC SNEK WITH POISON BALOONS IS LESS HERETICAL, FUCKING ADMIT IT YOU SNEK DEFENDER
GODAMM, HOW FUCKING DARE YOU OF ACUSING ME YOU FUCK, VIGILO CONFIDO
NO YOU'RE THE HERETIC YOU FUCK. SCREWING AROUND WITH THE HUMAN GENOME JUST SO IT CAN BETTER FULFIL YOUR LUSTFUL DESIRES IS IN FACT LESS HERETICAL THAN FUCKING AN ALIEN, BECAUSE AT LEAST THE ALIEN'S BIOLOGY IS NATURAL, AS DISGUSTING AS IT IS.
>tfw this is what /v/ XCOM2 is all about
Has there been any word on laser weapons or has Gauss technology replaced it entirely?
Seeing as how Firaxis is fully aware of the lessons learned from Long Dong, I'm kind of hoping that there will be more than three weapon tiers. Lasers (and/or pulse lasers) would fit perfectly in as a sidegrade to Gauss weapons or as the penultimate tier before plasma.
She got old alright, but got all the more vamp and bossy for it.
Got the kindle edition on the cheap. A little meh plot, but good enough for anyone interested in the upcoming game.
Snek can help thanks to mods.
Newfoundland is pretty easy even with early-midgame tech. Even so it's easy to cheese in the very beginning.
Grenade the sharks and just use one soldier to trigger whale/airstrike, and double move on every turn back to the skyranger. The chrysalid AI will only ever dash into melee range, instead of trying to cut you off.
ALIEN BIOLOGY IS NOT NATURAL YOU FUCK, AIN'T MOST OF THE UNITS IN XCOM GENETICALY MODIFIED OR FILLED WITH IMPLANTS?
HOW MUCH MORE NATURAL WOULD A SLIGHTLY ALTERED HUMAN BE COMPARED TO SOME FUCKING SNAKE FILLED WITH IMPLANTS, POISON TITS AND WITH ITS DNA TWISTED LIKE A BALL OF YARN ON A TUMBLER FILLED WITH KITTENS?
Fucking a genetically modified alien that has been changed to look more human is less heretical than changing a human's biology so it's more like an alien.
Humans are perfection.
B-but Commisar, if that's true then why are the space marines so heavily modified?
Fuck it. Just fuck it.
Oh yeah, that's why we are currently being rammed with a lampshade up our dicks by the Lmaos.
Humanity can only be progressed through genetic perfection, making us naturally have the abilities we desire would be nothing but increase our perfection.
THE FUCK DID YOU SAY SOLDIER.
HUMANITY LOST BECAUSE OF SPINELESS COWARDS WHO RAN OUR GOVERNMENT, SELLING OUT XCOM TO THE ALIENS.
REST ASSURED, WE CAN DEFEAT THESE SPACE DEMONS WITHOUT ANY PHYSICAL ENHANCEMENTS.
Astartes are less than human: something incapable of feeling fear can never know courage nor know the meaning of sacrifice.
PROVE IT GENERAL, CMON NOW, 99 TO 1 CHANCES, OUTNUMBERED TO FUCK, AND WE GOT ROOKIES FOR DAYS, YOU REALLY WANNA SEND THESE FUCKS WITH THE AIM OF OF A 7 YEAR OLD WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS TO BATTLE?
VIGILO CONFIDO, BUT GODDAMN, ARE WE FUCKED GENERAL.
>Enemy Unknown theme begins to play in tthe ending
Literally the only cool part of this game. That was a neat twist.
