So, I've looked at the PR.exe, UNP.exe and MT.exe files that comes with the installer/un-packer and they seem completely harmless.

They are not writing anything too the disk and they only seem to be reading files (probably the packed ones) and they are all using small amounts of RAM and CPU-time.

At worst they are bitcoin miners/sniffers, which isn't that hard too get rid of.
As long as you don't have any sensitive information stored on your computer or if you are running with the internet turned off/in sandbox mode, you should be fine.

Alright. Here's the Seyter repack running for me.

The game ran fine the first time no issues with dlls or anything like that. It also supports my Logitech Rumblepad 2 natively which is nice.

Gonna do a malware bytes scan of my comp now. MT.exe (which was only active during setup) did come up as suspicious on VirusTotal but it can be a false positive.

You don't manually increase stats in this game, each vocation has a specific stats they increase when you level up.
For example Warrior grants 40HP and 5 Attack each time you level up.
Fighter only does half per level up iirc amd Ranger gives the highest Stamina growth in the entire game.
So basically there's min-maxing in this game, which should prepare you for BBI.

Hard mode simply increased damage (450%) increases XP gain and money drop rates (so it can actually be easier in the long run).

You can kill any NPC you want. Most, if not all of them will respawn in like 7 in-game days, though.

If any you would actually look at what the installer is actually doing with the computer while it's running you would notice a few things.

1.PR.exe does not write anything to the disk, uses way too little system resources to actually be bit-miners and there exists one instance per archive file that gets removed along with the archive files after they have been unpacked.

2.UNP.exe is a Microsoft Silverlight application that does not seem to utilize any admin privileges and never reads or writes to the disk.

3.MT.exe seems to be the only file that does some shady shit, but it still never writes to your disk and it gets removed from your system the moment once all of the archive files have been extracted, leaving no trace of it (on my PC at least) except for the packed version of it that comes with the download.

I'm not saying that it's 100% safe, no downloads on the net is, but their reputation might have been damaged enough by their previous attempts to warrant them removing shit like miners from their repacks or the examples you posted might have been tinkered with by some other group(s) and then uploaded under the same name too shift the blame on someone else.

Yes, you make a main pawn that you can "loan" out to other players. As long as it's a girl. Players will NOT pick your pawn if it's not a waifu. That pawn is your pawn and BFF.

As far as killing every NPC, I can't remember if they're fully killable or if they respawn, but if you start attacking people in the main city, I'm pretty sure they just arrest you with dialog, but I may be wrong about that.
