Why aren't you playing the best Fire Emblem game in the series?
>Playing Norh path
>"This game is pretty good but I need a challenge"
>Reach chap 10
>mfw I can't pass this ch, not even in Hard
any advice? fucking Felicia and that faggot with the axe aren't capable to do anything more than scam enemy
>inb4 git gud lmao senpai
Is my taste just shit /v/? I can't get into these games because of the disconnect between the map and combat during battles.
Stella Glow was the same way, played the demo and couldn't get into it. I'm so used to the way games like FFT and Disgaea work, the scene shift when the units attack each other is too fucking jarring.
Because it comes out in a month and I'd rather just wait instead of wasting my time editing my 3DS for a shitty translation.
i hear people say Nohr is hard
something like 'no grinding'
is it because in Awakening you can do like random encounter battles to level, and you can also in hoshido, but Nohr is like the older games where you can't do that?
i did like the bonus XP like in PoR though, especially for noobs you get that are underleveled.
pffft. well ive never played awakening so i guess it will just seem like the other games ive played.
that being said i do wish OP's game would have made it to the US. I played Shadow Dragon and it was alright but i hear that one is much better.
Apperantly my Ike that was maxed couldnt aether BK enough to win the battle before the time was up or something, so i got the non-cannon end because the castle fell on him
I played Shadow Dragon and PoR. Getting Conquest, i think. Then later i might get Awakening, but im not sure.
my friend said Sword of Seals will destroy me, does that sound about right?
But I'm working on a Path of Radiance file right now, anon. Best girl is cleaning house as usual.
I havent played a Fire Emblem since 7 and Sacred Stones.
Are Awakening and Fates any good? At all? In any regard? I heard Awakening has absolutely zero need of actual strategy.
>NA's localization staff always improve the subpar nip writing.
That remains to be seen. Not to mention all of the innuendo in the amie portion is definitely getting cut. Regardless, since I have access to CFW, I can simply play whichever version is better.
REEE!!! NOA TRANSLATION HAS MEMES! Look at my screenshot, I'm playing superior fan translation instead! Accurate and no memes!
>using the dirty faggot in the first place
Although I will say that that's the first time I've seen anything of the sort in the fan translation. So far, I've noticed the translation quality seems noticeably worse for IK than Nohr or Hoshido. I'm guessing they rushed it out, judging by how they claim another patch is coming soon to fix various errors in the translation.
Anyone else notice the change in tone in Fates threads concerning the localization? It went from Treehouse being assuredly better than 8-4 to the point where people were joyous that they were announced to be doing the localization to Treehouse being the source of all evil.
Japanese and kanji in general never really translate 1:1 so there are going to be differences. Other times though they purposely change the text and context because context certainly doesn't change 1:1 between English and Japanese. In this example though it appears they butchered it to hell and back for localization purposes
>not reading Japanese the easiest second language for all weeb
>not paying for games
>brag about it
I envy you being able to not feel bad about yourself. Wouldn't be able to handle that if it were me.
Every time Xenoblade X is brought up in arguments about the censorship of Fates it annoys me. Was anything in XCX censored other than the particularly skimpy outfits only when worn by the explicitly 13-year-old girl? The outfits for adult women in XCX and Fates are intact. What are the people bringing up XCX expecting to see censored in Fates?
>Was anything in XCX censored other than the particularly skimpy outfits only when worn by the explicitly 13-year-old girl?
The fundoshi outfits for all ages and genders, for one. Also, censorship is still censorship.
>What are the people bringing up XCX expecting to see censored in Fates?
The fact that you can fuck your ~13 year old little "sisters", one of which has an entire support arc devoted to discussing how she feels unsure about being a mother at such a young age.
The people who defend it are those who fear added memes (which the fan transaction provides), censorship (which has not been confirmed in any form), name changes (despite the fact that almost every localized game changes names), or claim that they don't play FE for the dialogue/story anyway.
>Supporting the official release
I guess kids like their memes and censorship
It's not that you have shit taste, rather it's that you have crippling autism.
Every JRPG does this battlefield transition shit, and here you are posting, what, a Neptunia maymay? What's up with that?
They are going to fix that.
Enjoy your shitty translation and censorship
>mfw pro-censored fags will never ever play the game how it originally was intended
>mfw weebs will never play the superior script
Triple check that you download the correct files and keep asking theads like a retard . if it bricks there's a chance you can jusr enter recovery mode
You have until monday to downgrade
What is IK?
Is it the Revelations line after the other two?
I wasn't interested because I didn't like Awakening very much, but hearing about Nohr having a narrative like FE7 (no grinding, only a few optional mission) makes me fucking hard and interests me immensely. Plus I could use a good tactical RPG.
How good is Hoshido? How good is the Revelations line (how long is it?)?
Conquest has good level design ad maps, but shit story. Birthright is Awakening 2, a routfest with open maps and grinding.
Revelations has interesting level design due to its reliance of gimmicky maps, but the character balance is a trainwreck.
All 3 are 28 chapters long with the first 6 being the same between them
Hoshido is shit, worth a single playthrough at most. IK is something, though I'm not quite sure what that something is. Pretty much there for completionists that want to use every unit except for 2 of them for no real good reason. Nohr is great stuff.
The map doesnt function like SS/Awakening. There's a list of options you can do and it just takes you to wherever they're available. Nohr is the only route that doesnt have map grinding missions so the only options it ever has are Story, Child Paralogues when available, DLC gate, difficulty lowering and a Castle Defense mission that only show up 3 times over the whole campaign. The other 2 usually have like 4-8 extra battles available on top of the stuff listed there.
I guess I can appreciate them at least catering to people like me who like the old style of not being able to grind and make smart decisions as to whom to level with one version of the game.
>get awakening after hearing the hype
>get my shit kicked in
>manage to eventually get it right and start winning
>"Awakening takes zero strategy"
>"but Awakening is the worst game"
>"Awakening is why we have waifushit now"
>With 3.0 most supports are translated, and all the DLC is translated now.
I just got past the prologue and after finally get into the castle on Hoshido side first time, I don't see any of my support conversations are translated.
The cool thing is that even DLC doesn't give you Exp unless you buy the DLC made specially for grinding, so you can even play those without screwing with the difficulty of the game.
>Nintendo thought they could fuck me and make me buy the same game 3 times
They deserve this piracy desu
Replaced with the parallel seal which is similar.
Reclassing isn't as dumb as it was in Awakening though. Characters only have access to 2 other classes iirc and then the class of whoever they married.
Parallel Seals don't reset your level like second seals did as well and they don't change you back to tier 1 classes.
The menu sounds are either identical or not noticeably different from Awakening for the most part. The music on the whole though is really nice though. One of the main reasons I can tolerate IK is that it has music from both sides as well as a super comfy track that plays in one of my favorite kind of vidya fantasy settings. That track gets ditched for a rather boring one not long after though which is unfortunate, but its also when that setting becomes less noticeable so whatever.
WHOAH HOLD THE PHONE
First class -> Second class capped at Lv 20
And then just switching to random-ass classes for skills?
If there's one thing I hate about Fire Emblem lately it's the reclassing. Part of the appeal is having "set" characters with their respective classes.
I don't want to imagine a world where Erk could be a fucking mercenary.
>Japs thought the romance was shoehorned and didn't like the child characters (evident by the polls) so we might go back to comfy, good Fire Emblem
In Fates you can't just reclass everyone to random classes. Characters have set classes they can change too.
My. Fucking. Dick.
I thought this game was just another Awakening, set to fail, but it actually fixes a ton of issues I had with it in the first place.
Now if only they'd announce a goddamn release date for Europe. Nintendo can suck my dick with it's region lock policy.
Now my US gf gets to play Hoshido 2 months (at least) before I get to play Nohr.
Never said it had to be purchased, just that it could be played on 3DS
Nohr is hard for two reasons.
1. No grinding. You can't farm random encounters for money and EXP unless you buy the DLC like a bitch.
2. Level design. The maps have actual thought and challenge put into them. You have to think and accurately asses your resources in the Nohr route. In Hoshido, you can get by using whoever you want because there's no real thought or difficulty put into the maps. It's just "Kill everything till it dies"
well my point is that yeah while they might be shoehorned in, you can easily go through the game and never see them, especially in nohr where you can't grind at all
woah so you're telling me that the japs bought the route about japs more than the route about gothic europeans? that's crazy dude
It wasn't that big of a gap in sales, if I'm remembering correctly. So it gives me a smidgen of hope. I remember pre-release everyone thought Hoshido was gonna blow Nohr the fuck out. Even the Nohr royals are more popular than the Nip-I mean Hoshido ones.
Thats because more than a few of them have too many variables to reliably judge
There's a small handful of unscrewables but the rest need eugenics simulators to work properly, therefore you cant really place them into a single tier since their potential is wildly varied. And even though I said there are unscrewables, they arent necessarily retard proof to the point where you can get a magic mom to birth a physical kid and expect them to be as great as they can be.
I generally end up using 3 kids give or take since some are just straight upgrades to their parents.
The weakest link in Fates is actually the characters.
You can see by the popularity polls.
The majority of the Hoshido and Nohr characters just aren't popular because they're so bland and flavorless. Generic "nice" hero characters.
The popular ones are the royals, and the characters with actual flaws/a tiny shard of depth like Zero, Charolette, Oboro and Joker.
These aren't deep characters at all, but they stand out in comparison to their peers who are cardboard cut outs.
So how good is the translation patch? Are all three versions translated?
Why did people do all this work for these games which will soon have an official release while FE5's translation patch is bad, TearRing Saga's patch is shit, and Berwick Saga is untranslated?
>Start Nohr in hard mode classic
>Its a challenging for once
>get muh dlcs and see whats up
>apparently patched but all of them are still Chinese
>notice the money and exp dlc
>exp dlc is a complete bitch to manage
>money dlc easily exploitable with few runs>buy strong unite card>do rest of the dlc in a breeze
Welp, I aint touching the dlc, shit almost got me greedy
Also, anyone has an actual working eng patched .cia dlc pack? Not the invisible kingdome but the ect.
>fan translation is shit and has memes.
Waiting for the official release pham.

Dont think so. Not like you really need it translated anyways. The xp dlc is some shit though, I'm glad its not as babbymode easy as Awakening and makes you work to be an overlevelled shitter.
>The greatest tactical liability since Skrimar in Radiant Dawn
You literally get two-shot or surrounded randomly on most levels, and unless you farm for hours or only throw your strongest characters at enemies you will die constantly. Trying to recruit buckethead was the worst since he died in a hit, paired up he died in two hits, and you constantly get surrounded and have a turn limit. There's also that mission where you get the healer on the horse and the mage right next to each other and you have to save them while 10+ Wyverns decent upon you on the second turn and they're surrounded by 5+ enemies.
I do not understand how you find these easy, FE7 and Sacred Stones were piss easy compared to this.
>Tfw /feg/ was supposed to cheat the vote for Gunther and we forgot
12th is still pretty good though
Fuck. Units. Visit others people castle with a card shop and boom! Get strong units with the right dough.
Yeah, but I do need IF (heh) the dlcs are actually patched. I want to read whatever is going on with the time traveling idiots and beach dlc.
So please, if you know anything or have the .cia of it I would really appreciate it.
As I said to the exact same post yesterday, I already am.
>tfw chapter 5
i let suzukaze die because he was being fucking awful and i didnt know about his double attack meme
what do? I literally can not handle the magic dudes with the dragon alone
Great. Excellent map design. Difficult foes to conquer.
It varies you have a few monsters who you should always use and a few duds that just can't keep up.
Story is shit in all 3. They all have retarded plot elements so I won't bring it up but it basically boils down to
Hoshido : As generic as generic gets and will honestly feel unfinished once you play Touma.
Nohr : Painful. The story is ruined because they weren't willing to present Hoshido has legitimately in the wrong at any point and wasn't willing to let you embrace being an asshole either.
Touma : You play Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne for half the game, then get everyone to work together to go beat the Invisible Kingdom which is dull for the most part, and the Nohr royals get forced into the back seat while the Hoshido get the majority of the focus
FE7 is better. FE8 has too many monster enemies, so you don't have to pay as much attention to the weapon triangle. FE7 was the high point of the series in terms of balanced tactical scenarios. I feel that the special abilities in most of the other games just make it more RNG than actual tactics.
Did you even play the game?
gameplay is good, that alone brings up my spirits
this year seems to be the year of gameplay > story
also didn't IS hire that writer to specifically make the story better and less cliche? how the fuck did they fuck it up?
Awakening made me lose interest in the series. Radiant Dawn was the last one I enjoyed. 12 is okay, although I liked Shadow Dragon better. Endless reinforcements and
FUCKING WYVERNSmake the game a bit of a pain in the ass.
Even though I know that IF is better than Awakening, I have trouble being interested in playing. I just want something else.
well that fucking sucks
also are the themes as mature that japan gave so high a cero rating. I heard about the skinship quotes but do the actually cutscenes and story really get that fucked up?
I knew about that one, I thought she did something else too for you to make such a statement.
Despite the memeing, the beginning of Awakening Hard can be a little difficult.
In the beginning, enemies CAN 2-shot you if you aren't careful and because the maps are wide open as fuck you can't abuse choke point strategies so if you aren't being attentive you can get surrounded and butt fucked.
It's only the beginning of Awakening hard that's difficult though, because that's when your units are still squishy.
I second this. Lunatic/hard mode is quite fun from chapter 1~5 because of limited option. But then flood gates open for endless grinding and weapons to abuse that the balance of the game deteriorates. You have to impose constraints on yourself so that the game doesn't make you cheese through it.
Honestly, Awakening kinda sucks.
I started hard mode recently, I have about 6 chapters left?
Its so fucking boring. Skills are boring, the classes are uninteresting, the characters are all weird tropes. The story is so uninteresting, bordering on FF12s plot. The game is incredibly easy past the first few chapters, and their 'idea' of hard is basically just bad RNG as has nothing to do with skill or tactic, since the game hardly requires any strategy; it comes down to funneling enemies into meat grinders that wipe out armys.
Why are the barracks a huge waste of time?
Why is there so much DLC?
Why is the writing so bad?
I want to like it so maybe I can find some interest in #FE and MAYBE the new 3DS game, but the 3DS titles are just loved by people with shit taste, as I see the same people recommending Yokai Watch and such.
I just don't get it, even Disgaea was more enjoyable.
>Are the themes mature
Ha! Fuck no. The high cero rating comes from all the skinship. The themes aren't mature at all and aren't handled maturely at all.
Oh? You want to know more of Aqua's brilliant plans? In Nohr, she decides that she's going to assassinate Garon. She does this by attempting to use her DANCE AND SONG magic to destroy him. Her signature DANCE AND SONG MAGIC THAT USES WATER. While in a disguise that anyone could see through.
And she fails. And every dancer in that opera house gets executed by Garon. But nobody ever realizes it was her.
She also never tries to tell anyone about Touma in Hoshido or Nohr versions of the game. When she has an entire army and all the royals of one family whom she could tell/has their trust.
No, she only tells you when you're both backed into a corner with no other option, not when you're in a position of power
>The high cero rating comes from all the skinship.
Actually it wasn't exactly this according to the 25th Anniversary book.
>guy does an outline of 500 pages or something like that
>monkey comes and fills in the blanks and disregards most of the shit
It makes me wonder who the fuck are the writing staff in IS and why have they been dropping the ball so hard since Super Paper Mario.
>FE4 has actual, real incest (not implied)
>FE8 has implied incest
>FE14 has no incest because you're not really related to Hoshido and the only person you are related to is your fish
Pic related, Celice and his sister-wife Yuria

(lol to your heart's content
>WE DID IT WE BEAT THE MEMEHOUSE /B/ROS XDD
>Leon wears a blouse
Now I know where Foleo gets it from.
All the enemies seemed to be weak. I know you end up with strong units in every Fire Emblem games, but usually your dudes take some damage. Like, you're in no danger when your reinforcements show up.
Not even for a second
The story literally starts as the king from Nohr giving you a sword then trying to kill you, then you get rescued by Hoshido and then you met everyone in hoshido town whom all are goody two shoes humble happy people, then you met your family who missed you very much and sacrificed a lot to see you again, your mother who is a saint loved by everyone who has a barrier of peace and love that keeps somehow invaders outside, your mom tells you how the king of Nohr killed your real father and after that the sword that the king gave you explodes and kills the people in town and your mother sacrifices herself to save you, then you go super saiyan and kill everyone. It gets worse, can you imagine?
Probably longer actually since from personal experience you can 1 turn at least 1 chapter in Birthright. You might be able to 1 turn the final boss but that might depend more on luck and you could probably do the same to Marx in his chapter.
The Nohr story is shit anyway, Aqua literally asspulls everything in one chapter
>Hey, there's this new Kingdom that no one knows exists
>Don't tell anyone about it because if you do you will literally die
>Also look at my crystal ball, your dad is actually a monster :)
YAMATO DAMASHII is too strong
They can't betray the NIPPON BANZAI or they lose sales in japan
Which is weird because "japanese" kingdoms only appeared like twice in all FE games, including Fates, so why would they give a shit now?
fuck man I just got to chapter 6 and I can't choose between Conquest and Birthright.
I was set on Conquest until I saw there were fucking gameplay differences between the two and now I don't know which to pick.
That player was on Normal mode.
Here's a video of that stage on Hard.
Here's a video of that stage on Lunactic (Forgive the LP face came, it was the only video I could find of the stage on Lunatic.)
Unfortunately Radiant Dawn isn't portable so I can't play it right now. Fire Emblem If is fun so far though, the maps are much better than Awakenings. I want to play Nohr more but I'm doing Hoshido first.
>All from the route that's incomplete
Okay. Hoshido and Nohr are fine for the most part then. If you can play the fan translation then you're able to pirate the game. Just do Hoshido and Nohr now and use the official translation to play IK, that's what I planned on doing anyway.
High expectations and hype as the "based anti-treehouse alternative" = blunderful amateur results compared to things like FE6/FE12's translation (also confirmed they didnt bother proofreading before relesaing)
And during the same time period,
fuckinggamestop added bonuses to anyone that pre-ordered from them, causing unintentional insult to injury.
Honestly a fantranslation was retarded in the first place.
If they had brains they could have waited for localization and do the changes there. Instead they translated everything and are nowhere done with all the dialogue, and the game is gonna release in two months.
They should have put that effort on other games that actually required translation, like DGS for instance.
It's funny because they knew Awakening had a shit story so they got an actual author to write down some shit for Fates, and then they threw most of what he had out and it shows.
The joke is that it even turned off the Japanese after a while.
Look at the popularity poll
Of the top 15 Male characters
>1 is the MC
>4 are Royals, with the 2 Nohr Royals take the top spot
>6 are route exclusive to Nohr (2 of those ARE carry overs from Awakening however)
>3 are in Both Nohr and Hoshido
>1 is Hoshido Exclusive
On the female side
>1 is the MC
>4 are Royals but the two Nohr Royals make it into the top 5 while the two Hoshido Royals don't
>6 are Nohr Exclusives
>2 are on both Routes
>2 are Hoshido Exclusives
>They should have put that effort on other games that actually required translation, like DGS for instance.
Ah, that's the issue then. You're upset that the people who actually have some grasp of Japanese decided they wanted to do this game rather than one you want. Cry more or learn Moonelf. The fantranslation only started because the Nintendo and the fucking Treehouse took so god damn long.
>the people who actually have some grasp of Japanese
I'm not complaining. I'm simply astounded people were retarded enough to do a fantranslation of something that had confirmed localization. It just escapes my mind how can not one person, but a group of people decide it was a good idea to start this fantranslation in the first place.
>The fantranslation only started because the Nintendo and the fucking Treehouse took so god damn long.
Fates is launching next month in the West and the game still isn't 100% fan translated.
ENGLISH PATCHED .CIA DLC LINK?! FUCKING HELL! THE ONE I GOT FROM 3DSISO DOESNT FUCKING WORK!
The fan translation started in the summer because they wanted to beat the treehouse. That was always their intention, to be "first".
The project was about to die completely in the Fall with the starting semester until it gained sudden momentum from the censorship/meme awareness going on in the nintendrone community thanks to the Fatal Frame controversy. This gave them the drive to keep the project going under the false pretense that it was a noble effort for the anti-censorship fans.
Skip to now, where they release a shoddy, non-proofread, non-playtested patch just for the sake of having the last route translated in some form be it by expert or Google Translate before the Treehouse could beat them to the punch, just so they could say that they beat them.
Oh, you "beat the treehouse" alright, hermano.
Are all fire emblem mcs related to dragons or is that just an Awakening and Fates meme?
It's actually quite good (minus having to BUY different routes, what the fuck?).
It's reasonably challenging and the pair up system was fixed nicely.
It's still waifubait but oh well
You meant this as main characters right?
Are you new to the series? It depends. Roy has the potential to be 1/4 if you take Ninian to be his "canon" mother but as his father, Eliwood, has three marriage choices and none of them are explicitly said to be Roy's mother in either game, it's up in the air. Most people put them together though and the game kind of hits you over the head with the pairing. In 9/10 the tacitcian character who isn't a self insert is half-dragon.
The fact that unpaid people doing it for free can even keep pace with actual "paid for" translators is pathetic.
Global market. Why couldn't the game been released here at the same time?
Ultimately all that is true, but you know who really beat the Treehouse?
The people who recracked the 3DS.
Now they have to deal with people choosing to just pirate the game when if they'd gotten the translation out sooner, it would have been a much less important issue
>The fact that unpaid people doing it for free can even keep pace with actual "paid for" translators is pathetic.
You DO realize that more than half of the game is untranslated in the fantranslation, right? it doesn't even have english voices, either.
I know you hate memes, and I do too, but let's not.
I only played Awakening before, so I'd consider myself new to the series
>Wanting English voices
Oh, you're just a shitposter.
>Global market. Why couldn't the game been released here at the same time?
Worldwide release does not mean "the game releases simultaneously in all regions", what it really means is "the game's Japanese version is delayed for months so that it can release on what would otherwise have been the game's NA release date".
See: Pokemon X and Y
Gotcha. Yeah dragons are pretty much tied to the series. It's not FE if there aren't dragons. Even #FE has a dragon. Actual the part about 9/10 is considered to be a fairly major spoiler that's locked by various requirements in order to find out but yeah, dragons.
Let's stop before we start.
This one is from what little tastes we've gotten though
>They literally hired a voice actor for Aqua who lacks the vocal range to properly sing the theme song of the game
>since it should be relatively easy to restore anything that might have been censored
It will be, and the localization's script will be 100% finished and readily available to tinker with to change names you don't like/memes if absolutely necessary.
The fan patch is a lost cause now since it's STILL not complete. Pirating the localization and editing that would be easier at this point.
Nice bonus desu.
If you bought all three of these separately (scalpers don't bundle them) online they'd cost as much as a $60 game
I have no clue anon. There are artbook scans floating around though. I haven't seen all of them personally.
His dogs chewed on his drawing tools and ruined them and his wife had a child recently so he's been pretty fucked outside of twitter sketches. He only got to finish Felicia before both of these happened.
Does he plan on finishing them? It's FE8 all over again.
>The fact that unpaid people doing it for free can even keep pace with actual "paid for" translators is pathetic.
There's a lot more to the official localization process than just translating the text. The fantranslators aren't even close to done yet with just the text, and most of their work so far is low quality, unedited and buggy.
>1/4 of the character options
pretty garbage imo. Seems like they're just giving us japans leftovers
The original singer IS in Japanese.
The difference is the songs are based on HER vocal range.
You're high if you think the English singing has gotten better. She still can't hit the low notes properly and they've sacrificed the flow and tempo of the song while only doing an "adequate" job at maintaining the songs meanings.
The English singer doesn't have the proper vocal rang to match the songs
>people hating on fire emblem because of sakurai's dev team bias in shit bros
rosterfags, i swear
This is exactly what I'm doing since I'm fucking terrible at these games, even though I really enjoy them.
I might even splurge and get both physically. I never did enjoy getting full $40 games as digital only.
You'll want to do Birthright -> Conquest -> Revelation to enjoy the game in full. Birthright first so that its gameplay doesnt bother you if you were to play it after Conquest.
If you can only buy one physically, buy Birthright to get it out of the way, proceed to Conquest and Revelation afterward.
What the FUCK do I do in Chapter 3, the first time you go outside the castle? There are 3 bowmen plus a paired merc(?)/bowman combo right in my fucking way. They don't move, and as soon as I get close, it's murder city.
Might as well do that shit now because something is gonna get cut.
Alright anon, let's get to the bottom of this. You said that Awakening is pretty much your first and only FE right? What exactly did you find so hard about it?
Mainly the level distribution. I'm used to grinding in RPGs and when I found out this isn't the best game to do that, it confused me. Coupled with the fact every enemy seems to go after the main units I want to use in a battle and completely annihilate them.
Shit, the map with Donnel nearly destroyed me. But that was mainly because Lissa's staff broke and I was without healing. I'm worried I'm playing this all wrong.
Panties are likely gonna be cut/censored, incest as well.
Do you check the enemy ranges before you move your units?
It's entirely possible to do this in Awakening. Other games in the series not so much. Sacred Stones is another game here you can do that.
Are you healing every time a unit takes damage? Do you use vulernaries?
The battles are all about strategy.
You need to protect weak units and let them get in safe hits to gain EXP without letting them get killed.
You need to check enemy equipment and range to anticipate their movements and determine/create safe spots.
You can lure enemies close and weaken them with units that can tank their attacks then finish them off with your lesser units. You need to keep your units well equipped with items that will last them the battle ahead.
You need to understand and use the weapon triangle and the difference between magic and physical damage.
Camilla's undies are uncensored, unless Treehouse decides to make a last-minute change according to this vid: https://youtu.be/Fs7voeTd-ZY?t=30m30s
The Treehouse lady in the same video also implies that pseudo-incest is still in, given that she says Xander and Leo are hot. I don't think they'd remove it; you actively lose out on a lot of marriage options if those S-supports were removed.
I do, but I guess I get more focused on my own. Figuring out what pairings work best. I don't put them together but I like to keep them next to each other.
I read that grinding isn't normal in FE. So I guess I don't want to get used to it if I branch our and play other games.
>are you healing every time a unit takes damage?
I try to. I want Lissa to be able to stand a hit or two, since every enemy goes after her first. Even if a unit has 1 HP I lost I still heal it.
And I use vulernaries if a unit really needs it. Otherwise I just give Lissa multiple Heal staves and use her.
The only thing they can possibly remove is the onsen bathing segments.
I have no doubt the touching dialogue will be shit in english but everyone's JP audio will be on to hear Sawashiro's moans anyway
Grinding is not in most FE games but it's available in Awakening if you're really having trouble. If your frontline's having trouble or your units can't consistently get kills, you can rely on Frederick to soften enemies up. Make sure he's not taking all the kills though; it's an inefficient use of EXP and hurts you in the long run.
I think I've been able to gather all this from different chapters I play, and it's been working. So in a sense I have to evenly distribute exp without spreading it too thin. Like let Chrom knock a big chunk off an enemy and have lower-leveled Virion pick off the last few HP for the bigger experience boost.
8-4 isn't localizing Fates, Treehouse is and it was more so that he was explaining the difference between a straight translation and localization. If I remember correctly there was more emphasis on character ages being changed.
>since every enemy goes after her first
Don't put her near their ranges.
> Even if a unit has 1 HP I lost I still heal it.
And this is why she broke her staff. That's not using your resources wisely. If you're gonna do that use the vulenaries since the staves are more expensively and useful. The vulernaries aren't really something to horde. And you're right grinding isn't really a thing in past FE's. Use Pair Up it's extremely useful in Awakening and pretty broken.
>So in a sense I have to evenly distribute exp without spreading it too thin. Like let Chrom knock a big chunk off an enemy and have lower-leveled Virion pick off the last few HP for the bigger experience boost.
Pretty much. But with Reeking Boxes Exp deficits shouldn't really be a problem.
Xenoblade swimsuits weren't cut. If all the characters are supposed to be of marrying/child-bearing age (none of the marriagable girls are going to stay explicitly underage), swimsuits shouldn't be cut.
There's only one instance of actual incest and that's with a first cousin. That relationship may be changed to something like "distantly related" or left unexplained. All the psuedo-incest may be toned down because NA doesn't share Japan's wide-spread fetish for it, but also simply because it's uncommon in the US for siblings to address each other by title. They probably won't be using brother/sister as terms of endearment when they speak romantically.
Yeah, I read Frederick isn't good to rely on. Because of that, I've used him literally one time, and it's been paying off great for my other units. They all get the good exp bonuses.
Frederick fills a character archetype that's has been established since the beginning of the series, the Jeigan/Jagen. Him being a damage sponge is pretty much is role in the early game, he just happens to be a fairly useful Jagen for a good chunk of the game. A lot of them are like you said aren't good to rely on as they tend to be exp sponges along with damage sponges. Freddy Fazbear is there to help you out just don't overly rely on him.
>Story is supposedly shit
>Play the game
>Story isn't shit even in Nohr
>Nohr actually has a much better story than Hoshido
>Literally every example in this thread of why the story is shit is either completely wrong or a huge misinterpretation of actual events
>One idiot saying Japanese fans didn't like the story despite the famitsu poll literally having people comment on how much they liked the story and wished for IS to put the same amount of effort into the story in future titles
So in the end it was just /v/ being /v/ and a repeat of the Soleil support.
The lolis aren't going to be lolis when NoA removes all references to their age though. It's not as if short, flat-chested women don't exist. Nowi's outfit didn't need censorship after all.
I had no idea items could break. I just went in and overused the stuff my units had. Fucked me up and I learned for next time.
>use pair up since it's broken
Isn't that bad to rely on though? I don't want to rely on shit in Awakening that gives it the "easy" reputation. I use it for lower levels, like pairing Donnel with Kellam. But that's pretty much it.
I saw a merchant with a reeking box. Do I need to hoard the hell out of those? Is that where the grinding mainly is?
I just exclude him from my battles and it works just fine. I'd only put him if a low level unit needs some backup or something.
They need to balance exp gain.
mages are too weak to tank so they get less battle time -> being useless long run
tanks get too much battle time and overlevel everything.
rather than increasing the exp gain of mages, just lower the exp gain of tanks
The whole Jeigan/Oifey subtype argument is retarded since it's been proven multiple times that Jeigan/Oifey's are generally some of the best units in the game, along with the fact that Jeigan in FE1 is a better unit than Oifey in FE4.
explain Lin in Xenoblade then. What is the fucking reason why they couldn't age her up to 16.
It has zero relevance other than her being a smart young protoge. Literally every character in XCX is older than you. He being smart and young is still implied if she was 16.
Really I find it to be the opposite personally.
Nah, use Pair Up it's a core mechanic of the game and pretty much expected to be used. You can buy Reeking Boxes from the shops. They just make it so you can fight Risen on the map in the spot that you use them so you don't have to wait for the game to generate new skirmishes. If you're early in the game, just use him. Like I said he has a purpose and it's that.
I was just covering my bases anon. I know that some people like to differentiate them.
The game is built around the new Pair Up system. Honestly, if you're having a hard time playing, I don't know why you'd try to make it harder by refusing a game mechanic.
You can use Pair Up reasonably and enjoy the game without pairing up your two most powerful units and bulldozing the game. If you use Pair Up to evenly build up all your characters, you can work on supports and getting all the child units.
The JP version was already pretty vague about character ages, and you really have to dig into the Supports to get a rough estimate.
>Nohr actually has a much better story than Hoshido
>being a pussy for 20+ chapters is much better than killing the dick and saving the world
Nohr fanboys keep shilling Conquest's gameplay and claiming that all three storylines are shit when only Nohr's plot is the shit one.
Revelations is meant to be played last. Just play Hoshido first if you got the special edition. If you didn't get the special edition, only get Nohr and IK if you want to marry Hoshido characters more. Nohr and Hoshido have a lot of overlap in regards to certain sub plots and share some maps (though how they function widely differ in each game).
You prefer the sprites. I do too. That doesn't make the 3D models appalling or useless. They're easier/cheaper/faster to produce and animate which allows the devs to make more variations of them and animate them more extensively.
Camilla's outfit is already confirmed to be uncensored from the CGI videos and Conquest/Special Edition boxart,
Female Corrin panties and naked inner thighs are also still visible from the IGN amiibo gameplay that confirms you can dress up your units.
And Gamespot has already confirmed that you can still marry your royal siblings in the game.
>Another thing that makes Fates' whole adopted-family plot interesting is the fact that you can romance your adopted siblings.
Reeking Boxes are used to summon a squad of enemies to your position in the map. They can be abused endlessly to make your characters OP, if you really want to grind.
PROTIP: You don't need to grind in FE. At least not on Normal and Hard modes. Lunatic and Lunatic+ are a different beast.
Yeah the only reason people call Nohr's story shit is because some jackoffs who wanted the story to be a clone of previous games got upset at the fact you have to fight Hoshido. I played through the Japanese version(although I can't read it) and from the scenes felt something was off about the criticisms.after reading through a translation I realised some people were intentionally leaving things out to pretend certain plot points that actually had an explanation or foreshadowing early in the game were as bad and out of nowhere as the Blood Pact in RD.
The only thing I can suggest is for people to play it for themselves and form their own opinion. I don't think many will find it bad like a group are saying.
Pretty sure that the ones who complained about Nohr's shit plot are people who wanted to play as edgelords and unironic weebs who claim to hate Japanese themes but play Japanese games.
>Ryouma has a white dog
>Marx supposedly has a black cat
Pottery. They're really hitting that Black/White thing hard.
>a real tactics game like the first Tactics Ogre.
The Jap should have the cat and the Nohrian should have the dog. Cats are arbitrary animals that don't understand love, much like Japs, while a dog is a creature that is loyal past the point of reason and thus is a better representation of Nohr.
>Cats are arbitrary animals that don't understand love
>Cats dont understand love
Quit being retarded, cats aren't pack animals who follow the leader while dogs are.
Its not a matter of affection, hell dogs aren't even especially loyal they just follow dominance.
SoS Hard Mode is tied with Thracia for the hardest game in the series.
>Lord is a late-promoting swordlocked 5-movement foot unit with no redeeming qualities outside of the weapon he gets for the last 5 chapters. He's forced on every chapter too.
>Constant same-turn reinforcements will fuck you up.
>Outside of a few characters, almost everybody is mediocre/bad.
>Every map is seize. Every. Single. One. This doesn't go well since every map's objective is "make sure Roy doesn't get fucked up by same-turn wyvern reinforcements while escorting him to the throne"
>Wyvern riders and manaketes are fucking everywhere, and are well suited for killing Roy.
>Bosses are really dangerous, you NEED a boss killer, most likely candidate being Rutger.
>Enemies have actual stats
Two top Ten finishes is excellent for any character
Why is it that shitposters are trying to make it out to be that the busted and rushed job they did on IK is the entire game? Both Hoshido and Nohr are both translated fine.
And maybe this is just me but why the hell would you want to play IK first in the first place?
You said "powerful" anon. From what I've been hearing the returning Awakening characters aren't that good in Fates in terms of gameplay. What you posted is just the popularity poll.
>80% str growth
So weff's top tier, right?
I got the SE and I was planning on going Nohr first and doing Hoshido second because I like Nohr more and I want to get the real FE gameplay first, then waifus and min-maxing after. But I've seen people saying that playing Hoshido after Nohr is awful and boring. Is the difference really that bad if I go Nohr first?
The only posters with screenshot proof of their claims about the fantranslation's quality have been the negative ones.
Why are you the first person I've seen defend the rest of the fantranslation, and why don't you have some screencaps of the finely edited script if you care what people think about the fantranslation?
