>Enjoy the game enough to play it multiple times, but hate Carth with the fire of 1000 suns.
>Play KotoR 2, Carth get's a brief cameo but is otherwise out of the game. Enjoy it.
>Play Mass Effect.
>Kaiden Alenko speaks.
FUCK YOU BIOWARE!!!!
been a while since i played so i'll admit i had to look them up too
The kotor 1 party was boring as hell. Jolee, Canderous, and and HK were basically the only interesting party members. The wookie in particular was completely bland.
Kotor 2 is a mess but the party is vastly superior.
Who did you guys prefer to take into action?
i remember all party members from the 1st one
only one i remember from the second one is kreia, and that useless guy you get in the beginning
kotor 2 is a better game tho but they are both overrated
Kreia is always really strong.
Other than that it kind of depends. I haven't ever really found Bao Dur, goto, and Mandalore's niche as far as combat goes.
When I go LS it's usually between atton and handmaiden, maybe mira too
otherwise Visas HK or Hanharr depending on what I need.
As far as personality goes I really do like all of the cast
I pretty much took everybody out in 2. Only one who never got much action was goto, and that was only because there aren't that many droids after Nar Shadaa to use his toys on.
In 1 once I got Jolee & HK it was them forever.
Complete opposite, KotOR's cast is great and memorable. KotOR 2 I only ever remember Kreia and the three repeat characters (T3, HK-47, and Canderous). Everyone else are just not-Carth, not-Bastila, not-Zaalbar, not-Juhani, not-Mission, and the retarded floating torture droid that should be modded out of existence.
Bioware puts the same male archtype in every game. You usually find him fairly early on. He is usually a STR character, but not always. He is always a bit secretive about his past. Sometimes he covers this up by being a snarky douchebag, other times by just being quiet. That's because he has some tragic past or something that makes him distrustful of others. So, the MC, if female, has to melt his icy heart.
And it absolutely breaks me every fucking time. I always fall for it. Always.
Anomen, Carth, Kaiden and then later Garrus, Alistair, Blackwall and Cullen.
Just fuck MY SHIT UP Bioware. I hate you so much.
she condescended me at every turn. and when i decide to train handmaiden she shouts "BETRAYAL"...what a pain. also i don't know much about the lore, what's the truth is she really handmaiden's mom or my character's mom? i've been met with troll answers the previous times asked and anons bicker among themselves.
So are all of them, that's the point. Because they all have a sad past or some kind of complicated shit that makes them all distrusting or wary of getting close to others.
Bioware has known how to moisten cunts and stiffen gay dicks for over a decade with this gay shit.
They always get me with their shy, nice girl female characters. Leliana is my favorite romance in any Bioware game. Bastila is the only one that doesn't fit that archetype that I love.
There was the redhead that became a Jedi. And the blind chick that became a Jedi. And the chick with the white hair that became a Jedi. And the gay guy that became a Jedi. Also not Darth Maul became a Jedi
>seems like some han solo expy, original character obsidian
>mfw finding out his backstory
>Go to Kashyyk
>Threaten every single Czerka employee with death and kill a number of them for sport
>light side points every time
I mean, yeah, they're mustache twirling psychos trying to enslave the most honorable species in the entire galaxy, so they deserve to die, but still.
>A Jedi must not know love, I am above such passions
Bioware was better when they just did what they do best: let you be a guy who gets the tsundere princess after many trials or a girl who can hook up with a noble handsome man with proper moral standards. Now it's all cringey Solas/Twilight romance, pandering to midget lovers, and half assed morally grey characters who aren't actually morally grey because bioware still can't write complex characters.
I remember how I completely dismissed Mandalore. Onderon was my last planet and I was doing a light side run, so I just disregarded him and G0-TO as characters I wouldn't get to know anyway because my influence won't ever be high enough. I swear if T3 hadn't told me I wouldn't have given him a chance and I would have rued his presence in the Ravager. And even though his short story picked up from that point on, I still wasn't as invested because I didn't get his backstory in the first game either.
The tumblr pandering killed them, which is why the founders and half the original staff (including their best writers) abandoned ship years ago. DA: I's characters just suck and it's telling of how far they've fallen that the only good romance is with a woman who isn't even a party member.
>end of her arc felt more romantic than anything I had played at the time
>wasn't even a romance
Could you anons imagine if Obsidian actually bothered to put in romance in their games?
I think he wrote Gann in MotB but it was like one conversation before the final battle
It has female-on-male rape
I'm still upset that they screwed up Bishop. A romance with him would have been interesting if he wasn't such a faggot
4chan thinks it's spam for some reason, but here's a dl link
I only played a grill once and it was perfect as it was 2bh, it was in line with the character to chicken out of fucking you because of muh chaotic evil personality and then ending up in the stupid wall
I liked that they told traditional adventures too. There's a place for grey morality and deconstructions and all that, but sometimes you need a classic fairy tale
Was that in the cut content? Because I remember her initial lines sounding very romantic, sharing how she sees the world and all that, but I don't remember being able to reciprocate it.
I get the impression that Obsidian's corporate likes to keep personal beliefs out of the spotlight. JE Sawyer has said in his Q&As that he's fought about development details with co-workers before over things he feels strongly about, but I've never seen that touted and brought to the forefront.
>but I don't remember being able to reciprocate it
That's how it's supposed to end because of the whole "I can't take my loved ones to where I'm going (other than Atton of course, no homo)" thing
>tfw playing as a female for the first time
I still romanced Bastila because she's such a qt
The restored content for 1 barely changes anything, just a few minor things here and there you wouldn't notice at all, it does give the game a better flow however
>can't sex up the disabled space wizard, I have a bro to find
>tfw went through the whole of KOTOR2 without realising you could turn companions into Jedi
>mfw severely under levelled Atton vs Dart Sion
well, i got a bit of insight into her character, actually felt a bit sorry for her. but it isn't anything super emotional or groundbreaking. typical outcast finds redemption bit
Out of all the things that have come out of Episode 7, I think my favorite has to be the resurgence of KOTOR threads. Maximum comfy with good discussion.
I wonder if Disney would ever do a KotOR movie. I wouldn't know how to feel about it.
Female Sith would make the ultimate semen demons if they didn't turn completely ugly by being evil. Kinky electroshocks, hypnotism, choking and the ability to literally drain your life from your dick.
I wonder if there are any mods that have procedural changes to the dark side, but don't have the end result look disgusting.
i always thought it was lame how the games made the dark side's effects that prominent. yeah sheev was all messed up, but he was also old as balls (and disfigured from the lightning? i don't remember if they ever confirmed if it was that or the removal of some disguise, although the latter would fit with his manipulator/tempter role more). anakin didn't start looking like a fucking vampire when he turned
i guess it makes sense as a form of player feedback but still
Bastila likes it when you tease her and its pretty evident when she proceeds to drop spaghetti in every conversation but has kept up appearances about the Jedi code and shit but in reality she's probably shlicking herself at the thought that your force bonds would make super strong Jedi babbys.
Besides, female Jedi have to contend with Mother Nature and boy when she starts kicking their breeding cycles not even a strict code would stop them from doing what they were born to do.
>Visas shows up on ship
>Somehow miss every single attack and ability
>She some how hits every single attack and ability
What the fuck? Is she supposed to kill me? How could I miss literally every single attack when I'm only using one weapon? What kind of bullshit is this? Am I underleveled? I'm 11 right now, just off Telos and on Nar Shadda for the first time.
It was a really difficult fight for me as well, took me a good 20 tries or so, then I got lucky and beat her
Then again I'm complete shit at these games so you're probably just retarded
Visas blinds you for that fight. Later, Kreia teaches you how to turn her disfigurement into the power to see the force in first person mode.
I would recommend buffing up. Use those drugs, and Energy Resistance.
You DID get Energy Resistance, right?
Visas can be hard if you weren't prepared, especially if you are a jedi sissy playing in robes with shit AC and didn't bother getting the AC spells
Anyways you can use an energy shield to cut her lightsaber damage by a lot.
She seem to has a no save stun ability that leaves you out for a few secs to be raped
It's good to get the Plague ability for single target bosses as it has no save, but I think you can only unlock it at 12
Now if only getting darkside points wasn't cringy as fuck with the literal edgelord options
>they are not my companions, they are my slaves
>Shut up and die, fool
>I'm going to kill you if you say another word
The only tolerable darkside options are about dealing with thugs/criminals the harsh way yet those don't give you enough points
These guys are the original "Mandalorians" and they're extinct.
There's probably some detailed EU explanation, but it's really just because at the time ANH was made Lucas hadn't worked out a lot of the little details of the universe. It made for a great Kurosawa homage though
She's a normal human bean now, no force anomaly. She's was also best bros with Revan for some reason and there are no hints at KOTOR 2 ever happening besides the Exile character existing.
That's the worst way something can go, an entire story being destroyed just to prop up another shittier fanfiction-like story full of bullshit.
To this day, it's still better to pretend TOR doesn't exist and that the franchise died with some dignity.
I'm reading some in depth analysis of revan and holy shit he was super powerful like he was a full blown sith lord and one of the more powerful ones in history too. Probably in the top 10.
Disney need to make his story canon asap. It's so interesting.
Well TSLRCM fucked up my gameplay. This never happened in the vanilla version.
>Talk to her a bit
>Leave Ebon Hawk
>Come back to Ebon Hawk to build lightsaber
>Short cutscene with Kreia and Handmaiden talking about Visas
>Handmaiden says I trust Visas more than her
>Refuses to talk to me anymore
Why did I install this shit mod? I've never even used Visas in combat and I haven't asked her any questions beyond the first few you can. This mod sucks.
>the best of the best
Bastila is still a better qt
>pretty cool i like it
>get to droid planet
>what is this shit, i cant use space jesus?
>do droid planet for most part, it's super boring but what the hell
>finally get to play my character again
>do the part where you need to access the locked computer room with the female jedi master
>game crashes whenever i enter the area
>this happens constantly, unplayable
>no saves before droid planet
>can't leave, can't finish
I'm not dark side at all. The slider is far into the light section, and I should have more influence with the Handmaiden. I played the vanilla version many times on PC and on console and neither the cutscene that preceded it nor the conversation that took place with Handmaiden ever happened before.
>mod causes game to cut off an entire part of the game with no way to get out of it
>hurr you're shit at the game hurr
I think you can use the KotOR Save Editor to transfer your party somewhere else and to alter the booleans so that the game thinks you already met the Jedi Master so you can continue your game normally.
>Refugee: Please help me for no reward
>Me: fuck off
>Refugee: but my friend will die!
>Me: fine. What do you want
>[dark side points gained]
>Me: alright I saved your friend
>no light side points gained
I was slightly dark for the first few hours of kotor 1 because I was rude about risking my life to save everyone for free
>install Droid planet of steam
>open the page on workshop
>first pinned thread is about this issue and the workaround to fix it
Wow dude, literally wow. I admit it's the devs fault and why there is still not a hotfix considering it's just data displacement I don't know, but then again you're partly to blame aswell for not reading shit about mods you're installing.
they weren't meant to be morally grey or dramatic or anything. They were suppose to be pure.
Mission just wanted to go adventuring and make credits for her brother
Zanzabar wanted to bring honor to his family.
There's nothing wrong with them if they bore you, but they weren't bad for being simple people in a big galaxy
It's probably angry bioware writers getting back at obsidian for that funny as fuck conversation where hk mocks carth and bastilla's writing
>tfw HK yells "Oh master, I do not trust you, I cannot trust you or anyone ever again!"
>Decide to do a DS run in KOTOR.
>Dark side choices literally involve shaking people down and breaking in to their houses for no apparent reason.
>Everyone around me is like "wtf are you doing anon?"
Restarted as a LS character. You can at least pretend to be an actual character that way.
The way you get ds/ls points in this game is fucked. Obvious extremely nice/extremely evil acts will get you ds/ls points but stuff in-between, you never know. I made a deal with slavers to spare them on the condition that they keep trading slaves and cut me in on the profits, didn't get dark side points.
Handmaiden is just poorly designed. It's hard to gain affection with her, and I'm fairly sure every dialogue option in the conversation after fighting visas will cause her to lose influence. Visas, on the other hand, already wants to suck your dick after the fight. You almost have to go out of your way to shit on visas if you dont want to piss off handmaiden
Yeah, but you'll also have much less fun.
>give 1500 credits
>get ability to buff yourself 2 points for 2 rounds of combat
>spend 16 minutes running some faggot errand
>get ability to buff yourself 2 points for 2 rounds of combat
>eternally poor because everyone needs your fucking money
>eternally weak because light side skills are garbage
>most you get is some bland boring as fuck thank you
>kill all questgivers and steal their money as soon as you meet them
>gain ability to nuke entire room with fucking Lightning
>rolling around in credits like you're Scrooge Mc-fucking-Duck
>all quests end in HILARIOUS dark comedy, especially the Sandral-Matale Feud
for added fun on Dark Side runs, always use Canderous.
This. This right here is what pissed me off more than anything about KOTOR 2. You get so many choices in the game but at the very end, Avellone's mouthpiece-...I mean Kreia basically cock blocks your character and dictates how the entire ending should be.
Fuck I hate KOTOR 2.
You can convince both of the families to kill each other in a huge shootout with just speaking.
It is the third funniest scene in the entire game, behind only Jolee Bindo's story of the Jedi with "great destiny" and the crazy guy in the locker at the sea base.
Goddamnit Disney has fucking done it, they've made me interested in Star Wars again. I fucking hate myself for it but I've been listening to the old soundtracks nonstop since watching TFA and I started playing KOTOR again.
I didn't mind it per se, also aren't you able to tell visas how you feel right before you enter the ravager? I liked the idea of going after Revan and was looking forward to Kotor 3, either playing as both or playing as a former party member witnessing the exile and revans return. Too bad ToR came along though, and that shitty book.
You're better off not knowing too much about it
>If you ever find him, tell him that Admiral Onasi is following his orders
Goddamnit stop hinting at a third game isn't it painful enough already? Also why don't I remember Carth being this much of a bro in the actual game?
It wasn't really a shitty book. The Old Republic: Revan started two years after the first KOTOR and explained what happened to Revan and Co. afterward. He keeps having nightmares about a world covered in storms and thinks if he finds Mandalore's Mask they'll go away. He and Canderous go to a snow planet, find the mask after a fashion and Canderous becomes Mandalore. Revan regains part of his memory and goes to a planet called Nathema that is completely devoid of the Force. He gets kidnapped by two Sith and taken back to Drommund Kaas, the capital of the Sith Empire. The Ebon Hawk and T3-M4 are left on Nathema. T3-M4 repairs the Ebon Hawk and flies it away, then sometime after that KOTOR II happens. After KOTOR II the Exile, now named Meetra Surik talks to Bastila, who gives her Revan's mask, hoping it will restore his memories fully when the Exile finds him. The Exile eventually finds Drommund Kaas and Revan, and with the help of Lord Scoruge, one of the Sith who kidnapped Revan, they break Revan out of his cell and they attempt to challenge the immortal Sith Emperor. T3-M4 gets destroyed, Lord Scourge has a force vision of another Jedi defeating the Emperor and he kills the Exile to make the Emperor think he was helping him all along, and Revan gets toasted by Force Lightning from the Emperor and hooked up to machines with Sith Sorcery pumping the Emperor's power into him to keep him alive, while the Exile's spirit refuses to become one with the Force so that she can lend her energy to Revan to help him keep his mind while he's going through this. Lord Scourge is made immortal by the Emperor as a reward.
300 years later, TOR happens.
Blasters were only viable if the RNG decided to give you a decent, FULLY UPGRADEABLE blaster.
One time I got a 12-18 Wookie Bowcaster fully upgradeable with x3 criticals on fucking Peragus.. Atton one-shotted everything for most of the game with it.
Another time I got a fucking mining blaster on Nar Shadaa.
Yeah that too. There was also a shitty subplot with Scourge dealing with Sith politics and assassinations and shit that I didn't care for at all. I liked the filler between games though. Not sure why people here hate it so much but I suspect it's because they made the Exile female. Not really a big deal.
>Not sure why people here hate it so much but I suspect it's because they made the Exile female. Not really a big deal.
No, nigga that was known for years before TOR. I think the year or the year after KotOR 2 came out she was made canon female.
>it wasn't a shitty book
>and then all that stupid shit after
You can get Rippers and heavy mandalorian blasters on Dxun reliably. You're right about Nar Shaddaa having shit loot for the most part. Never enough blasters to go around there.
If you want the story reasons it's because the Emperor wanted to study his mind and find out how well prepared the Republic was if he decided to invade it with the Sith Empire. The Exile's spirit helped him resist the Emperor for 300 years.
I'm pretty sure once the Exile regained her connection to the Force she was able to merge with it upon death again, wound or not. Maybe by dying the wound was fixed, I don't know.
If you want the real reasons it's because Bioware wanted a way to have players encounter Revan in TOR and toss in another familiar face at the same time.
I actually dislike that they did that and having both Hand, aiden and Mical on the ship canon, and Kreia's Lightsaber during her travels with the Exile was double bladed. People who wrote that apparently never played the fucking games, they are the kind of people that make the Star Wars EU look like a badly moderated fan wiki that deserves to be ignored by Disney. Really, considering that I don't blame them in the slightest
>Im an idiot: the complaint
I did it too anon, because it's easy to finale out Visas in one conversation. Brianna takes more time. Next time take bribri with you and do a couple of good actions in the Refugee section of Nar Shaadaa. Though I like the catfighting.
I think it makes sense that the exile is female, but the book just absolutely raped the characters, that's why you should keep canon as ambigious as possible when dealing with multiple choice characters, you are bound to piss off someone. I think a sequel to Kotor 2 have great potential, it's just that they dropped the ball trying to intergrate revan into the MMo somehow. Why the fuck would they do that, he was a cool character, but oversaturating everything they do with him cheapens his original effect. Fuck EAware
Visas and Kreia. Call me a mamaboy, idgaf
Though Bao Dur + HK47 are a close second
Anyone know what level you need to be in 2 to savescum up a Sylvar's robe with TSLRCM installed? I ask because other formerly high level robes are available much earlier, like Aleema Keto's robe and Arca Jeth's robe being in the Telos merchant's inventory at about level 6. Can't get Sylvar's robe to show up though and I'm wondering if I'm just a tad too low, or if it still requires level 49 or some shit.
Oh no, they aren't decisions taken on this book, but rather on an encyclopedia. It's something I like about the EU, the fact that many people can tell different stories, but sometimes some people don't do proper research and have completely nonsensical and contradictory things happen with no regard to source material. I wasn't trying to accuse the authors of this particular book of making those mistakes, "they" refered to bad authors writing for the EU in general, although I can see how I worded it poorly.
In fact, I like the isolated fact that the Exile should be female. I played female by default on that game and it resonates with my experience. It just pisses me off that both this and those other things were written because they are incompatible.
Betrays your ass to get the plot going
>Scarlett I think?
Plays you like a fiddle
>german tuna lady, Sig I think
Pretty much >>323149767
Tries to kill you on sight but is surprisingly chill. Maybe because her condition precludes bitching and moaning.
Not even once.
Something something lesbians, which is totally a-ok despite the jedi being forbidden to wuv.
>go chill lightside
>remember oh shit I'm Revan
>go full edgelord on Korriban and beyond
>Replaying KOTOR for the ten millionth time
>Hey, come to think of it I've never tried the Insanity track, I've always gone with Kill. Let's give this a go...
>mfw 12 second nigh-unsaveable stun on everything in the room and it costs so little FP that I could spam it thirty times in a row if I felt like it
Holy fuck Bioware what were you thinking
>literally no good toorent of kotor
>always dl, install and never works
>kotor 2 torrents are easiest as fuck
Fuck this shit. Didn't bought the game when it was on steam sale too, but giving money to bioware is fucked up.
Try another source for the DL, or install manually, but then you have to reinstall any other mods that edit the 2da files afterwards, if there even are any 2da files in the female handmaiden.
I think you're thinking of KOTOR 2. If we're speaking about the same glitch, there's a corpse in the tombs that spawns two enemies when you examine it, and it's repeatable. So you tap the corpse a dozen times, then wipe the room with Force Storm. Use Death Field and Drain Force as appropriate to keep fueling your death engine.
>le KB+M master race meme
Sorry, but I actually like enjoying video games in a relaxed, reclined position that doesn't give me carpal tunnel at the same time.
Have fun being hunched over a desk you dick-siphoning little shit. KB+M is only good for FPS and RTS. Guess which genre KOTOR 1 belongs to?
There's a GOG torrent I literally just installed last night and it works perfectly on Win7 64 bits. It's the only one that says GOG on KAT.
You might need to follow a few instructions to enable widescreent hough.
It does, but it doesn't at that resolution for some reason. Or at least I couldn't get it to work for this resolution. Granted I haven't tried in years, it probably got fixed by now
Same situation with KOTOR, with the caveat that if you want to fully repair HK-47 (there's four checks, and each one gives a huge boost to his stats making him the strongest party member at the end of it) you need a total repair of 17 on your PC. Party members don't count. You can top it up with intelligence bonuses from equipment or whatever, but you'll need to pump some stats into repair.
>mfw I play and love TOR
I don't care about the exile or really, KOTOR2 at all
ToR in itself isn't that bad. It's just the way they handled the old characters. I'd like it way more if the exile and revan were just legends of the past. Most of the class stories are really solid and is the only reason I've played it. But then you get the stuff like Rishi storyline which is absolute cancer.
I don't think there was anything wrong with how they handled the old characters. People seem to think Revan and the Exile should be God beings, literal Jedi Gods.
I liked Rishi, it's nice looking.
I don't think they should be god beings, that's why I dont see why they should cram them into a storyline that happens 300 years after the original games. It's really out of place and it's just a cashmilk because people loved Revan and the Exile. I'm not complaining about the aesthetic of Rishi, but the storyline, especially when you get to yavin 4 or w/e, literal wtf.
>He keeps having nightmares about a world covered in storms and thinks if he finds Mandalore's Mask they'll go away.
What kind of reasoning is that? Jesus Christ.
>He and Canderous go to a snow planet, find the mask after a fashion and Canderous becomes Mandalore.
>Even though Canderous tells the Exile how he found the mask in KOTOR II
>Revan regains part of his memory and goes to a planet called Nathema that is completely devoid of the Force
>After KOTOR II the Exile, now named Meetra Surik talks to Bastila, who gives her Revan's mask, hoping it will restore his memories fully when the Exile finds him.
What logic is this?
>The Exile eventually finds Drommund Kaas and Revan, and with the help of Lord Scoruge, one of the Sith who kidnapped Revan, they break Revan out of his cell and they attempt to challenge the immortal Sith Emperor.
>Scourge locks Revan away (allowing the Emperor to feed on his power to get stronger) even though he needs his help
>T3-M4 gets destroyed
>Lord Scourge has a force vision of another Jedi defeating the Emperor
Original Jedi Character; Donut Steel.
>kills the Exile to make the Emperor think he was helping him all along
Why? He asked for her help.
>Revan gets toasted by Force Lightning from the Emperor and hooked up to machines with Sith Sorcery pumping the Emperor's power into him to keep him alive
>Force Lightning is the most powerful attack that the Emperor can muster
Energy Shields would block all of that shit in no time.
>while the Exile's spirit refuses to become one with the Force so that she can lend her energy to Revan to help him keep his mind while he's going through this
>becoming a Force Ghost is somehow NOT becoming one with the Force
>Lord Scourge is made immortal by the Emperor as a reward.
Depends. Warcraft lore in vanilla WoW was great, simply because nothing you did really affected the lore or story in any real way. You were a literal who doing stuff no one really cares about, it wasn't until later expansions that you became the chosen one to defeat all evils along with your 20 something other chosen friends.
TOR started out in that muck, even if you play a non-force-sensitive you're not a random mook, you're the most elite of the elite and you shape the entire plotline.
You can't have super-powerful player-characters in an MMO and also have a good story. You either choose to have a shit story, or you choose to make your PCs weak as fuck.
Imperial agent excepted of course.
ITT: Romance is all that's being talked about.
No wonder why RPGs are going to shit. It's all about romance with the fans. It's no wonder Bioware has gone to shit, since their games have essentially become a dating sim.
It's good that at least Obsidian hasn't taken the bait with regards to the rise of the number of redpilled virgins and hypocrite tumblards.
I remember when people were losing it when Inxile announced they will be no romance in the upcoming Torment game. People lost their shit more than the annoucement that they were going for turn based combat.
>People lost their shit more than the annoucement that they were going for turn based combat.
Well, duh. Why would people object to that?
>hurrdurr any story that involves romance shouldn't even be allowed in video games
Jesus. Could you be more repressed if you tried?
I liked that part in Episode 6 when Luke was fighting his dad and Luke jumps into a high ground and vader just stared at him. he was probably thinking "you taught him that?! fuck you obiwan"
14 in every attribute except intelligence, dump all subsequent points into strength, invest in persuasion (put 1 point into Awareness for dialogue options), and flurry + master speed the fuck out of your enemies.
Simple but overpowered. Single saber works great for this build but dual wield if you want to.
well this was hilariously fun trying to avoid the mines in. Fuck knows what mod caused it.
How viable is an explosives build?
i.e. focus on Demolitions, and try to kill everything with grenades and mines?
I know it's pretty easy to cheese most bosses with mines. Will I have enough, though?
itll take forever to kill anything. your main char should focus on persuade, repair and computer for those dialogue options and have a party member spec in demo. if you recover every mine you find you'll have more than enough to cheese later bosses. grenades arent useful for single enemies. unless you're super bored with the game theres no reason for it
>I forgot Deus Vult's secretary
can you even romance her?
She either dies or gets survivors guilt before I can even find anything out about her
Quick, anon, Disney has come to you to make KOTOR 3, how do you do it?
You're allowed to recanonise or ignore anything you want, be it from books, comics or vidya
How do you pitch it? What's your plot outline, the companions and how do you add to the gameplay?
idk, the game is just too easy to not pick who you want.
It's fun to have this floating ball around, hearing him talk about strategy and his plan for the Republic. Even though there aren't many droids after Nar Shadaa, the droid scramble is still fun to use when you do have some (like on Onderon or Dxun).
Trask (RIP ;_;7)
T3-M4 (2nd Game)
Canderous (2nd Game)
Canderous (1st Game)
T3-M4 (1st Game)
We can all settle our differences and agree on the one true character ranking, right?
I don't know - I don't have any good ideas for plot. Maybe meet Revan at some point?
I'd like to visit different planets. No full-blown Dantooine and Korriban again - except maybe as small asides. I don't know which, though - they've covered all the main tropes - Ocean planet, city planets, desert planets, grassland planets, forest planets, chill planet with one city, and broken planets.
As for gameplay:
- I'd either want to make stealth viable or completely remove it to focus on other stuff (probably the second). It's just a waste of space/ability.
- No long-ass tutorial planet. Jump us right into chosing a first planet after a short intro sequence/tutorial thing (I don't know - maybe make it that you are running away, and get a choice of where to go first). I think what makes Taris/Peragus annoying to people is not just that they're long and boring, but that they are presented right in the beginning, and are seen as a bit of a hurdle.
- Never force the player to take a specific party member somewhere or to be a specific person for any length of time; always give them a choice of at least three.
- Party members should be relatively evenly dispersed among the planets.
- No CSI nonsense (e.g. CSI: Dantooine in 1 or CSI: Onderon in 2, although I must admit it was better handled in 2).
- No Towers of Hanoi nonsense. Please, come up with mildly original puzzles that aren't in the terminal.
- Probably most importantly - since this seems to be really what the game is about - make more subtle branching options in dialogue/choices. I know it's hard, and I know it needs a lot of assets - but 2 builds itself up so much to not just be about "le good choice le evil choice," yet it does shit like in Onderon (i.e. painting both Vaklu and the Republic as flawed, yet forcing you to pick the "good" or "evil" choice). You should be able to make more subtle choices that affect shit without overtly swinging in either moral direction.
>- No CSI nonsense (e.g. CSI: Dantooine in 1 or CSI: Onderon in 2, although I must admit it was better handled in 2).
I liked that though, both of them. They were entertaining.
Here's an off topic but relevant question:
Does anyone actually believe Jar Jar is the reincarnation of Darth Plagueis? I mean, they look similar but it sounds like bullshit to me.

To be fair, it's not said anywhere. The jedi exile is treated as a normal Jedi because only the council and Kreia knew she was a wound on the force. She was one of Revan's general in the mandalorian wars so she being best friends with him is totally normal.
Not explaying things doesn't mean it didn't happent. When I read the book and played SWTOR I never thought KOTOR2 never happened in that canon. You can even get Nihilus and Sion's gear in swtor.
Not the same anon but I read the book and played swtor
>What kind of reasoning is that? Jesus Christ.
Because he was mindwiped just before KOTOR1 and his memories were coming back after Malak's reveal.
>What logic is this?
I don't remember why but when Revan helped his friend to recover one of the mandalore's mask he recovered part of his memories and traveled to one of the planets that was sucked dry of the force by the Sith Emperor Vitiate. Bastila was hidding in secret the mask he wore as Darth Revan because she knew he would remember everything and leave her to fight "THAT" danger only Revan knew.
>Why? He asked for her help.
Lord Scourge was curious about the Light Side (because of revan influence) and the Exile "taught" him to meditate (he just imitates her). During the last fight against the Emperor Scourge had like thousands of visions of they losing and the emperor killing all the life in the galaxy, only one of those visions was diferent and he saw a Jedi Knight striking down the Sith Emperor. In that moment he decided that, in order to stop the emperor he had to stay alive and find that jedi so he betrayed Revan and the Exile in front of the Emperor to make him believe he was always on his side. Vitiate rewarded him with Immortallity. Scourge is one of the Companions of the Jedi Knight in SWTOR. The Jedi Knight is the one who strikes down the Voice of the Emperor stopping the "kill all life on the galaxy" ritual.
>Energy Shields would block all of that shit in no time.
Yeah...no. Revan killed one member of the Dark Council just with a force push and even Revan was scared as fuck when he saw the emperor's force lightning. It was more a plasma than a lightning by the description he made.
>Lord Scourge is made immortal by the Emperor as a reward.
A painfull ritual using sith alchemy and magic that would hurt Lord Scourge for years. Remember the Sith Emperor is literally inmortal at this moment so he fucking knows how to do it.
>expecting anything more from a themepark mmo
it's not about making a good game, it's about how many whales they can milk for their money relying upon how good previous games were. When people advertise the game, they always mention that you can play an MMO THROUGH SINGLEPLAYER STORY QUESTS
It's a shit game, that is kept afloat by a couple of programmers and a pack of apes shilling it.
Kotor2 drinks too much of KOTOR1 to skip it. Withouth the restored mod you almost could but the Restored Content runs around what the Main character of the 1st game did and how fucked the jedis you met on the 1st game were.
>they always mention that you can play an MMO THROUGH SINGLEPLAYER STORY QUESTS
And you can. You can literally go from lvl1 to lvl65 ONLY doing your single player story withouth having to do any of the PVE or PVP content with other people. Even the dungeons and raids you were supposed to do have a single player option where you go with your companion instead of a party of players.
BTW loved Revan's expansion and the Knights of the Fallen empire too lorewise.
>Space Arthur C. Clarke
How about you go fuck your whore mother cuntshit faggatron
holy fuck I'm mad
why does Obsidian keep getting shafted when they do sequels
apparently it was first with this
then Bethesda went and fucked over everything with Fallout 4
what the fuck did Obsidian do wrong that causes them to deserve this treatment from games companies? Is it because they make games that are literally superior in every way to their prequels?
G0-T0 is "Space Arthur C. Clarke?"
Having just read Neuromancer, I see G0-T0 more of as Space Wintermute (or just Wintermute, since half of Neuromancer takes place in space anyway)
Let me explain in order:
>The Republic saves Revan, who has been inmprisoned by the Sith Emperor for 300 years while he was trying to read his mind and learn everything about the republic and the force.
>Once released, Revan goes apeshit mad, leaves the republic and goes to an old Rakata station called "The foundry". The foundry reminds of the StarForge, it can create an army of droids. Revan want to create an army of droids with the order to KILL every living thing with Sith DNA o any relation with Sith.
>A group of the Sith Empire best warriors find the Foundry, destroy HK-47 and "kill" Revan. The Light side of Revan goes with the force but the Dark Side inside of him refused to leave the body and managed to keep him alive (you don't know this at this point).
After this, SWTOR never mentions Revan again until the Shadows of Revan expansion.
>Somehow Revan was not dead. He returns with the Mask and builds an army of Empire and Republic defectors so great he puts in danger both sides.
>Revan forces them to go to Endor, his plan is to make all 3 armies fight to revive the Sith Emperor and kill him for once.
>The plan fails. The Sith and the Republic join forces and defeat this "Dark Side Revan".
>Jedi Revan force ghost appears in front of the defeated Dark (not darth) Revan. They speak and they fuse. Revan body dies but the "force ghost" considers himself complete and leaves.
>waifu exile turned into a spooky ghost to elevate biowares gary stu
At that moment the sith in charge of the fleet in Endor was Darth Marr. An edgelord but a smart guy that understands that if Revan manages to resurrect the Sith Emperor they ALL would die. So he pacts a short alliance with Bastila's grand grand daughter Sateele Shan to join forces.
Pic related: Top left Grand Jedi Master Sateele Shan, bottom right Leader of the Dark Council Darth Marr.
Are you sure you properly built your character? This is DnD. If you were putting all your points into strength and then used blasters all the time like a retard, it's only your fault.
>Bastila gets preggo
>It's okay since it was love and muh force bonds
>some other Shan gets preggo
>wasn't even kicked out of the council and even made grandmaster
>Anakin falls in love
>threatened with exile, "I-ITS N-NOT THE JEDI WAY"
Anakin was an autistic fedorameister you idiot, Obi Wan was totally cool with him having a kid, and the council would give less of a fuck if Anakin didn't act like he got stuck on his teenage rebellion phase.
no, but I DO believe that Lucas had plans related to Sith shit for Jar Jar that he scrapped
People think that Jar Jar was actually supposed to be some sort of benefactor for Sideous or some shit and I actually believe that Lucas had planned for something like that, but with the reaction to Jar Jar, he changed his mind.
Not all the descendants of Bastilla and Revan were jedi, in >>323209087
the guy at the right of Sateele Shan is Theron Shan. Both have the same common descendant but Theron is not force sensitive.
BTW Bastila and Revan abandoned the Jedi after KOTOR1.
Bastila was bitchy and authorative but only because she thought she needs to have power over you.
She grows more insecure the more she realizes Revan is the more powerful one in every aspect.
How about we start by wiping the pathetic little thing that is your existence first?
You're playing the wrong exile.
>Obsidian takes over and, outside of poking a bit of fun, treats it with the utmost respect; making nice inside jokes with their material (like making "pulling a Bindo" an in setting phrase), make Canderous and HK even more badass, and make Revan into a Godlike being
>Bioware responds by retconning Nihlus' power to make him some no name Sith and giving it to their OC donut steele (with none of the downsides, of course, that might actually mean they spotted the point they were making), making Kreia a raving madwoman, unceremoniously killing off the Exile and pissing all over Obsidians concepts
On top of being shit writers, they're spiteful wankers and utterly disrespectful
How about on iPad?
>concept artwork that never made any sense given that the two characters never meet in person
If you could read, you would have realized that before throwing a tantrum.
And since no one can write good romance in the industry, it's better when it's just left out of games.
>nihilus on all the artwork
>talk about how powerful he is in the game
>his encounter is the most anticlimatic shit ever
He still wrecked my shit.
It's also funny if you can easily wreck his shit and just casually ask Visas to kill herself to buy you a few seconds to kill him, then waste it by not doing anything and fighting him as you did.
Her life, for nothing.
>And you can. You can literally go from lvl1 to lvl65 ONLY doing your single player story withouth having to do any of the PVE or PVP content with other people. Even the dungeons and raids you were supposed to do have a single player option where you go with your companion instead of a party of players.
that's pretty cool honestly
I'm playing this game right now what's the most horrible stuff i can do to make everyone hate me?
Just finished what must have been my fourth play-through of the game. It's been some time since Iast played it (about four years, I think), but damn, it still holds up for reasons I can't explain. I'm going to say it's the soundtrack, because it sure as hell ain't the writing, gameplay, or graphics.
Anyway, gonna post some screenshots I made during the ending sequence.
>replying to some post that's over 12 hours old
>no saves for the first 2 hours of the game
Also the droid planet is fucking awful, it's one big fetch quest with the dumbest ending ever
I fucking loved doing this. The entire party at this point is you, Evil Bastila, Zaalbar who hates you, bro Canderous, and a couple of robots, one of whom hates everyone except you. I don't think I've played an RPG that lets you destroy your party in so entertaining and plot relevant a fashion.
Stupid girl. Even that idiot Carth knew he was way over his head. I'd have let you go, stay on the tropical paradise island or grab the sith fighter on the temple, do whatever.
