Games that pay incredible attention to detail
>if there was blood on any part of you,it will be in cutscenes
>in MGS V if you knock a guard face down in water he will drown
>if its rains soldiers will go under shelter
God, MGS V is so fucking good
>My Fucking Face When getting electrocuted by fallen electrical towers on water for the first time.
T E C H N O L O G Y
>Get in the bathroom
>Use "Poop.mp3" so that soldiers look at your toilet, think it's a guard shitting himself and don't open it.
>Get an alert
>Guards think you're dead and move on to normal status
MGS V is a fucking masterpiece.
It was completely missing an ending and its quite obvious they were rushed to put together the skeleton of a game towards the end, resulting in the removal or hanging of plot threads
When content that would ACTUALLY FINISH THE GAME are cut due to time constraints, the game is releasing too soon. You could argue that kojima could have cut some of the TECHNOLOGY that made it into the game to actually finish the plot, but it was his swan song
>It was completely missing an ending
The fuck? Did you forget the part where you beat the gigantic Metal Gear? Or the part where Venom Snake looks in the mirror and the twist is revealed? How the fuck is the ending missing?
You stupid fuck.
The game was properly finished. Just because you didn't like the Venom Snake twist doesn't mean there was something else after it.
That one mission got cut because they felt it would take away impact from the ending, and they were right.
>That one mission got cut because they felt it would take away impact from the ending, and they were right.
But it does nothing of the sort. Without it you don't know what the fuck Liquid does with the parasites, what the fuck Mantis does, and what the fuck happens to Sahelantropus. It doesn't go against ANYTHING from the ending.
If anything playing The Truth: The Man Who Sold The World after chapter 51 would have even been better.
If you blow up C4 on the otherside of the base tanks will look at the player instead of the explosion.
MGSV is so good!
MGSV is rushed and not polished but not unfinished
A game development always starts by the beginning and ending and both are here and excellent.
People Think chapter 2 in incomplete because i think the name is misleading, it should have been named epilogue.
Puts an end to venom and quiet storys only missing the end of liquid story but all games have cut content it just couldnt make it in the game in time.So you can say it was rushed
You can say that it is unpolished because it is lackin in the mission design aspect. You have those great story missions and between them you have a hundred copypasted exctracting mission which are very boring.
Groung zeroes did a better job with a lot of variety in the missions.
You can add to this that MGO wasnt even playable at release. showing how rushed was the release.
Its sad because with 5-6 months more this game could have been the greatest game of all times
There's also GTA V
>Flip flops that come off the foot
>Water that wets your clothes depending on how deep in the water you go
>Gasoline trails that can be ignited with the flame coming out of a muffler
>Blood splattering whenever a wheel is brought over a dead body
Has it occurred to you that Kojima has just fallen off?
He hasn't been able to reign in and make a proper MGS since Fukushima fucked off. MGSV is atrocious, and I platinumed the game and currently sit at around 500 of strongest player armies in the world.
>my face when I make D-Horse shit on road and car drifts on his feces
what are you on? Fallout 4 is full of menacing little details and TECHNOLOGY.
>Codsworth beeing able to SAY the name you entered
>companions will interact with their surroundings and even talk to npc's
>Dogmeat actually holds the item in his mouth that you want him to bring you.
GTAV humiliates MGSV and there is about ten times more things going on at any one time. As others have said, it has no more detail than MGS2 or 3. I bet you thinking seeing your avatar in the reflection of the helicopter is lyke, totes mindblowing or whatever.
Are you implying going back to Afghanistan to rescue the cybernetics specialist's twin brother, who is also a cybernetics specialist, wasn't relevant to Chapter 2's plot?
>Codsworth beeing able to SAY the name you entered
Wow, they have thousands of lines for each name and the game checks if the name you chose corresponds with any of the lines.
Wow, truly a game from the year of our Lord, 2015
If the game revealed this information with a flashback bossbattle at 1975 Motherbase, then it would have an ending. As it stands, it is a totally impotent misfire and I will almost certainly never purchase another game from Kojima. He is senile and has completely lost his touch.
Yeah, I'm a complete idiot for wasting my time. Doesn't make the game any less shit. I spent almost as much time just playing Ground Zeroes.
MGSV is filled with meaningless filler and absolutely no story. It is an embarrassment to the medium of interactive storytelling.
>if there was blood on any part of you,it will be in cutscenes
>The game uses the in game assets for cutscenes...
Wow... so impressed. This would have been in any other game that uses characters in cutscenes by default if they had a mechanic where something gets on your player.
For example. In zelda TP if you just got out of water and activate a scene link is still wet.
>Its fucking magic man.
Z E L D A C Y C L E
If you fulton or destroy the trucks driving around the map, outposts won't get gear and they won't get heavy armor, helmets or shotguns.
Doing those 2500GMP plus X amount of resource missions have the same effect, and it tells you in the description which parts of which maps they affect.
>middle of development
Man seriously, Kojima decided to spend the last two years of development sucking off random Hollywood types, like Refn, JJ Abrams, etc. He cut the game to shit and altered the method of storytelling to appeal to people who do not play games. He altered the game in ways detrimental to the series, with an empty, laughable open world and regenerating health. There are no difficulty settings and no balancing whatsoever.
There is no reason ever to start the game over since it incorporates PHONE GAME technology to keep you wasting your time running the clock for upgrades.
The game is a complete and total failure at what it set out to do. There's no mystique you missed, it is ALL Kojima's fault.
>Eli and a bunch of children steal a nuclear bomb/battle robot and also have a copy of the english language vocal parasite strain
>literally never mentioned again except for one line after the credits "oh btw we got it back lol"
the final mission of getting the Metal Gear back from Eli was cute due to time and budget problems. This is not an opinion or guess, it is confirmed fact because a large amount of data files for this final mission are still in the game and the plot makes no goddamn sense otherwise. It's just too big of a fuckup to have the kids just fly off with the damn robot and nobody even cares, even though it is literally a walking nuke
Technology you say, yet it fails the most basic stuff
>think of giving MGO3 another chance
>go online, get tons of GP due to medals i've seemed to have earned now [after an update?]
>try first match, really loud music the whole match
>search in the menue to turn down the music volume
>the option is non-existant
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?
Did this got patched out or something, because i remember that this option was in the game, or was this only in GZ? This fucks me in the head in so many levels, i can't comprehend why the fuck this option is not in the game [anymore?]...
I envy PC-fags everyday a little bit more.
Have fun with MGO, mustard race, i hope you have some great time, because i will never play this piece of shit again.
>There is no reason ever to start the game over since it incorporates PHONE GAME
There's literally no reason to start the game over because you can replay the missions individually, idiot.
> it is ALL Kojima's fault.
Konami gave Kojima 4 years and 70 million to develop MGS4, a linear game.
Then they asked Kojima to develop an engine that Konami would use in all its Triple A titles from now on, and to make a new MGS, with only 1 year and 10 million more.
Considering the game isn't a complete bugged mess with fall through the floor kind of glitches, i'd say things could have gone much worse.
The fact that you say this with Kaz and Huey being the hottest characters around since the game came out everyone can tell you're just speaking out of your ass to save face.
It's mostly because of his ambition to make an Open World game when the team didn't have the experience in those and have made the same formula since MGS1.
Same shit hapened in the original MGR, except then he had the decency to realize it wouldn't work.
Yeah sure, I'm an idiot.
Every other Metal Gear rewards repeat playthroughs. This game is an overeasy shitsmear stretched way too thin.
KOJIMA IS RESPONSIBLE.
He is a complete and total hack now. He should be called out the same as Molyneux with all of his bullshit rhetoric about this fucking game.
He's a coward for not clearing the air, as well.
Daily reminder that killing a child soldier, if you use the mod that disables the Game Over screen, makes you lose 500 heroism points.
That's an actual mechanic scripted into the game, plus there's leftover files indicating that child soldiers would show stats, meaning you could recruit and use them as staff.
I wonder what kind of fucked up shit got not cut, but censored.
>hottest characters around
What are you talking about? To who? Where? Huey should have been killed in this game, he has no reason to be alive and it would have been a great choice for "demon" moments.
The game has, on its own, the absolute worst characters, dialogue and writing of the entire series. Several of the characters have inconsistent behavior and acting as well.
>Every other Metal Gear rewards repeat playthroughs
You get things at the end of MGSV too, like the Infinity Bandana.
>He is a complete and total hack now.
Oh, so he isn't a hack for the piece of shit of an ending that is MGS4.
He isn't a total hack for the MH clone that Peace Walker is, he's a total hack because they didn't let him finish a game.
Actually Peace Walker has the worst characters, dialogue and writing of the entire series.
And Huey can't be killed because they state in MGS2 that he drowns himself and almost drowned Emma with him, which is the reason she hates water.
MGS4 I didn't like, but I believe it is a Metal Gear Game. PW is also a Metal Gear game and feels like it. This game is just shit, Horrific soundtrack which you cannot turn off, all of the good music can only be heard if you play poorly, so good players are penalied continuously with the horrible DANGER IS NEAR section of the music.
MGSV is trying to be something else, because Kojima wants to be Hollywood and he sold his soul along the way. All of this is his fault, he was not blocked from doing a fucking thing. Let me know if you can spot the differences from th GZ reveal to it's release.
>MGSV is trying to be something else, because Kojima wants to be Hollywood and he sold his soul along the way.
Are you kidding?
MGSV actually shows the total opposite, he focused on the gameplay and the story takes a second place.
So games should be hard to get into?
>being able to stop anywhere anytime
If you mean quitting at any time, you can do that with every fucking game.
>mission layout making every mission really short
A couple of filler missions are short, but the Prologue, the Honey Bee one, OKB Zero, the first Africa mission and the Code Talker one are quite long, hell, the prologue is almost 1 hour long.
>having to play daily
For what, to get the bunch of resources that you can get in one succesful FOB infiltration?
The engine is nice, the gameplay is shit. He cut out more of Kiefer's dialogue than is in the game and he only hired Kiefer because Avi Arad, the man who owns the MGS movie rights, suggested Kiefer should star.
>He cut out more of Kiefer's dialogue than is in the game
Oh yeah, those different sounding
>Paz are you okay?
Would have changed everything.
Plus, the fact that he cut out dialogue means the game has even less to do with movies.
Also yeah, he hired Kiefer because of that jewish fuck, but David Hayter lost his voice a long time ago and he should have never voiced Big Boss in the first place.
Hayter has not lost his voice, he has proven this countless times in the last few years. He was told to go all raspy. He doesn't sound like MGS1 any more but he can still sound "normal" as Snake.
Kojima put together a video of Hollywood people talking about how great he is and packaged it inside the Collectors Edition. In retrospect, it's the most tacky and embarrassing thing I have ever seen a creator do.
He tried to move over to something else with Del Toro, tried to get hooked up with Refn and Abrams. He's just getting played by Hollywood types, but he's too autistic and didn't realize he sold the soul of his own series to do it.
As far as Hayter being too ridiculous, just listen to Kaz and tell me his performance fits alongside Kiefer. He's over-the-top videogamey the whole time, but he would sound normal next to Hayter.
Is this a joke? The cutscene thing is so easy to do basically any decent game does it, it's no different tha the cutscene showing the clothes you're currently wearing than the standard ones.
The other two aren't that incredible either for today's standards.
But yeah Kojima could fart on your face and you'd praise him.
>He tried to move over to something else with Del Toro
Yeah, Silent Hills.
>tried to get hooked up with Refn and Abrams
The only thing we have is that photo of him with Abrams and the signed copy of TPP.
>but he's too autistic and didn't realize he sold the soul of his own series to do it.
The only thing he did was hire Kiefer.
He even made MGSV even less cinematic, he even made the game 60 FPS on the consoles it could run at that framerate because he knows it's a videogame and not a movie.
>just listen to Kaz
I do, and several lines like
>''THIS IS THE ENEMY, AND HE'S HERE ON HIS KNEES''
Plus Hayter could have never delivered most of Kiefer's lines without sounding like the clown he was in PW.
Getting rid of Hayter was a good thing, and he should have been only Solid Snake.
>game lets you extract enemy soldiers
>if you extract a blackie, your handler berates you
T E C H N O L O G Y
You'd better not be shitting me, anon, even though I know you are.
>Game needs a blood bath to tie loose ends
Hello little Tim!
>collect cassette tape of soldier shouting "enemy eliminated"
>play tape on your walkman's speaker
>enemies think you're dead and resume normal patrol
The box itself is fantastic in MGSV.
>put poster of a soldier saluting on box
>enemies salute at it and go about their business
>put poster of gravure model on box
>soldier's come running and stare at it
Pretty much a funnier version of the porn mags but still.
Not really attention to detail, but a fun easter egg nonetheless
MGS4 was my first real Metal Gear game and it blew me away. The story, the gameplay, and all the Easter eggs were like a revelation to me. It got me excited to play games again.
The lighting in MGSV was so good.
>No ghost babel in ancestors or another good tier
I agree otherwise
>go on Attack the armored column side op
>sneak in under cover of dark
>tranq all the guards around the tank
>tank honks horn and wakes up the ZZZZ guards
Mfw, have no face
