I think it had to do with having a point for Chrom's sword getting the whole demigod treatment. There was no indication that killing Grima was even possible until the last moment when it suddenly dawned on you that you get the option. Even then it still seemed implied that you were going to go about attempting it, but Chrom still intervenes anyways like most of the options they give you in the game.

If it wasn't for being used to having choice options ending you up in the same path, I would have considered killing Grima.

Ephraim's combat is subpar in Eirika's route actually. Since he returns underlevelled and won't get a chance to catch up unless you baby him.

Especially since endgame is pretty much just dominated by the actually trained mounts or the Warpskip strat.

I'm having trouble deciding what male-exclusive skills to pass down to the second-gen females. I've heard people claim that Counter is worthless in Lunatic +, only to be called fucktards and informed that Counter is essential. There's also the argument over whether Rally Strength is worth passing down when you can just stack Spectrum, Movement, or Love. Before the DLC existed, I would've just gone with Despoil. Or what about all the girls whose Skill is so high that the penalty from Gamble would be miniscule compared to boosting crits even further? Or are the enemies in Lunatic + immune to crits, which renders Gamble and Wrath useless?

A flier can easily get to the enemies before Duessel and counter kill them before he does anything.

I mean sure, being able to kill a few enemies is nice for him but he doesn't dominate it the same way like he dominates the first few chapters he did in Ephraim route.
