I declare this evening Tiltyu/Tailto appreciation night.
dumping some best girl to get the thread going
Is my Lyn any good?
Will post ny Raven and Eliwood for comparison
>not always using InSain
Its almost like you don't want to finish the game
Not as good as I am, what chapter are you on?
>using a phone emulator
>Sain being InSain
Has there ever been a cooler Cav in the series?
>mfw other people are starting to use InSain now
>that feel when the only way to take snapshots of the top screen of my 3DS is to post whatever I want a picture of to the Awakening Miiverse
That Lucina thread had these ideas, but I figured I'd repost them here since this is the actual FE thread. How would you guys feel about
>Direct sequel to Awakening in a manner similar to 6 and 7 where Morgan is the Tactician, and all the Awakening kids return as party members
>Remake that combines 6 and 7, when you finish 7's story, 6 begins after a time skip
I guess I'll just start throwing Sain in over Lyn
I want to play on the go man,I have to bus everywhere and I've got a lot of down time
I think after I beat the game I'll do Sword Only Hard-mode and then Axe Only Hard Mode
>Remake that combines 6 and 7, when you finish 7's story, 6 begins after a time skip
Nintendo, take my damn money!!!
I'm playing 6, it does feel weird arriving to places you've visited before, specially Araphen, whay happened to Lyn anyway? Shouldn't she be there?
Looks about the same as mine, do i'd say pretty good
>shit tactics and perfect everything else
standard arena abusing scrub
low turncount run (alternately, RTA speedrun) is the only meaningful metric of skill or challenge in Fire Emblem
once you plebs realize that how good a character is depends on how useful they are in an LTC, your eyes will be opened and you will truly see
Who is the best waifu, and why is it Tiki?
But anon, that's not how you spell Lissa.
Why don't you want to literally be Chrom's brother?
I just beat Awakening. I couldn't bring myself to seppuku Grima out of existence.
Raven is your best unit by a mile. Throw that nigga a Dracoshield and a Talisman, and support him with Lucius to raise his defenses even higher (+3 res and def at A rank)
The only reason Lissa is the best is because her son is by far the best character in the entire game. Shit, he's the best character in all of FE for me.
>Tfw Lucina gets into smash instead of Owain
>My first playthrough of Awakening
>Get to the chapter where you get Owain
>The southern Village Sage gets killed by an Assassin before I ever get to him
>Only later do I find out that he gives Owain a completely unique weapon
Then I'll an hero him in the next run. For some reason, having Chrom cut him down felt more canon.
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but, is this still a thing?
Do you mean Dragonshield? And I assume Talisman is the Res boost item?
pls no bully
This is my first time playing FE
Don't do that, Lyndis sucks but she is a forced unit most of the time. If only she was as strong as Sothe, haha.
If it makes you feel any better it's not that great. It's basically a killing edge with a bit less crit. It's a joke weapon really.
I still fully upgraded it for roleplaying purposes and only used it when killing an important enemy with Owain.
Swap Eirika and Chrom. As a matter of fact, consider moving Eirika all the way down to Eliwood tier (not that she's unusable, just that she can't compete in the ocean of great units that SS throws at you)
>Lyn better than Eliwood and Micaiah
It's okay, I played through that chapter without even thinking about recruiting Owain until I had already saved the game after killing him.
how does it feel more canon exactly? I think the other ending felt more canon because they went out of their way to show that you lived, also the fact that Grima is dead forever, the only problem with it being canon is that letting your daughter cry is canon
>Do you mean Dragonshield?
yeah I did. I fucked up and called it by its name from the Tellius games / Awakening. IntSys loves changing the names of the stat-boosting items from game to game, god only knows why.
And yeah, Talisman boosts resistance.
Get that Lucius support going mang
Like who? The myrmidon with 30% strength and 15% defense? Eirika is also better than her brother in every way.
Implying Thani and sword of seals don't make Micaiah and Roy better than the faux myrmidon.
Lyn was an OG character created for 7
Wasn't thought of during number 6 I'm assuming.
Since it was the first western fire emblem game and the first 10 chapters are just a tutorial plus her weapons aren't one of the legendary weapons.
>not building supports at the end of turns to get your desired story ending
Stop hating fun. "speedrunning" fire emblem is secondary to enjoy the characters and story and only useful if you want those stars that nearly do nothing
I think it had to do with having a point for Chrom's sword getting the whole demigod treatment. There was no indication that killing Grima was even possible until the last moment when it suddenly dawned on you that you get the option. Even then it still seemed implied that you were going to go about attempting it, but Chrom still intervenes anyways like most of the options they give you in the game.
If it wasn't for being used to having choice options ending you up in the same path, I would have considered killing Grima.
Thani bombing helps out a lot in part 1 and Staffbotting is a god send in Part 3 for the DB.
Its a lot more useful than Roy sitting around doing jackshit for half of the game and Lyn's subpar performance during the main game.
And she doesn't even deserve the first Heaven Seal in either mode.
mmmnah I was actually talking about the Paladin who you get in the prologue who can solo the final boss along with most of the game
and the GK you get on chapter 10
and the wyvern that can one-round KO right away and comes with a killer lance
>This is my first time playing FE
And you're on 22x, right? You get an item after the mission, Afa's drops. Don't fuck up like I did, use it on your waifu or a unit you really like using. It increases the stats the unit gains from leveling up, so use it as soon as possible.
And raise that tactics score. You're doing Eliwood's story, so you have no excuse for a low tactics rating.
I agree with Low turn counts being important and pretty much the only challenge (except for certain games like FE5 and difficulties like Hard 5, Lunatic+ and Reverse Lunatic).
But if they are unlocking supports or if they're new, those scores are perfectly fine.
Cormag/Duessel aren't as good in Eirika's route and Gerik/Saleh suffers in Ephraim's route.
Cormag for example might even get recruited in Eirika's route because its possible to finish the stage before he shows up.
This shows what Lyn's stats are on average for each level. Looks like you're at/around average in all stats
>FE1 Marth as in the actual FE1
>One of the few units with good growths and decent bases for his level
>Who cares about no promotion when half of the cast can't do so anyway and everything but HP/Res caps at 20
>Uses best weapon type
>Has access to a weapon that inflates his growth rates
>Falchion ver FE1 is one of the most broken weapons in the series
That brings up another point. Its logical to assume that every girl who married is pregnant by the Grima fight. Or at the very least conceived. Last day before a battle and all that.
>That feel when your waifu dies
I've never felt more terrible over a unit dying...
Look, I enjoy the characters, but after you get to see the supports you want, speed running FE is the only way to keep having fun with the games, as it actually challenges your skill (in higher difficulties) and makes you take choices about characters and strategies.
>pls no bully This is my first time playing FE
oh, that's perfectly acceptable, then. congrats on 5star survival and power and EXP, those are pretty tricky in a blind run.
take all the time you want! feel free to focus on unlocking supports because the conversations are really cool and flesh out the characters.
you're right. I was too hard on him.
sort of. not 'faster' in terms of game time, but rather in fewer turns
Take as much time as necessary, it is a strategy game after all, but take less turns. Also, there's no penalty for restarting a chapter, so maybe retry a chapter once you've figured out all its tricks.
How is Duessel or Cormag or Gerik or Saleh not better than Eirika in any route? They kill things better than her and are better at staying alive. What more do you want? Maybe using staffs? because Saleh can do that.
I gotta admit I meant Book 1 Marth.
But Falchion is pretty much the only thing that makes him usable.
He's shit for the rest of the game, he has good growths though.
Marth in FE12 is more than usable, except for the garbage speed growth, and yet you put it lower.
Aside for Gerome and Laurent, the rest are great/solid parings.
Give Gregor to Laurent (Vantage + Armsthrift to a Sorceror is extremely powerful) and give Gerome someone to either give him Hit +20 for backrow or Berserker for front row.
Everything works with Avatar, its just preference.
yeah their level of usefulness is variable, but pretty much always higher than Eirika's, which puts her in the same 'never actually sees combat after the first three chapters' tier of Micaiah, if not quite in the 'regularly causes resets' tier of Roy
also I neglected to mention Ephraim himself
Just because a game gives you choice of gender doesn't mean it's canon, just look at P3P. only the Drama CDs have both Robins, and they went out of their way to be as noncanon as possible
Cormag on Eir Route joins on a chapter that's easily clearable long before he joins and is likely to be underlevelled.
Duessel's initial chapter on Eir Route is poor for him and his bases aren't as OP for the join time as they were for Ephraim's route.
I love this
Dart is stronk
How is Gerik better than Eirika? He's just Dieck in a game with better growths, he is better when you get him, but at the end Eirika will be way better if you invest in her.
>SS is my second FE game
>Don't know about Prepromotes and shit, just use characters I like
>Send Seth every fucking mission
>He soloes everything
>Duessel is a fucking badass too
It's like they forgot the concept of Jeigan and prepromotes being inferior replacements (most of the time).
Ephraim's combat is subpar in Eirika's route actually. Since he returns underlevelled and won't get a chance to catch up unless you baby him.
Especially since endgame is pretty much just dominated by the actually trained mounts or the Warpskip strat.
>just look at P3P
You act like that proves your point. Canon-chan the best.
>get to black knight fight in ch 27
>never trained mist
How in hell is Duessel's join chapter poor for him? Doesn't he join in the desert chapter?
And it doesn't matter if his bases aren't as OP. He still has high ranks in 3 weapons and better stats than Eirika.
Or rather, you are wasting Chrom on Inigo. Aether is way better than Rightful King. Chrom should marry Sumia so he has 2 children with Aether and Luna. Inigo doesn't benefit from Chrom.
Why is Lucina the canon waifu? because of Smash?
Fuck that, Lissa is the best.
It also produces a superior Owain.
I'm having trouble deciding what male-exclusive skills to pass down to the second-gen females. I've heard people claim that Counter is worthless in Lunatic +, only to be called fucktards and informed that Counter is essential. There's also the argument over whether Rally Strength is worth passing down when you can just stack Spectrum, Movement, or Love. Before the DLC existed, I would've just gone with Despoil. Or what about all the girls whose Skill is so high that the penalty from Gamble would be miniscule compared to boosting crits even further? Or are the enemies in Lunatic + immune to crits, which renders Gamble and Wrath useless?
I love Panne!
Well, if you put it that way it's true, as Chrom!Cynthia is amazing, but Chrom!Inigo is not a bad choice, and Luk +5 Lucina is pretty good.
>as important as GAMEplay in a GAME
I am a huge Fire Emblem fan, but I have never seen the point in Speed Running. Even on levels where the objective can be completed fairly quickly, I'd rather build supports and train weaker units than go super fast with an elite team of 20/20 units.
I said it was most of the time for prepromotes (And it still holds true, or do you actually use Flavia?).
But the Jeigan is completely true for every game sans SS and PoR (Titania is actually decent, just not great).
Frederick would be pretty bad if it wasn't for all the resetting and reclassing.
A flier can easily get to the enemies before Duessel and counter kill them before he does anything.
I mean sure, being able to kill a few enemies is nice for him but he doesn't dominate it the same way like he dominates the first few chapters he did in Ephraim route.
Speed running adds to the challenge and makes the game fun after you already have unlocked supports you want to see.
It's also the whole points of having other objectives than routing.
