>/v/ loves dark souls/demons souls
>so do I
>they get popular
>/v/ call demons souls fans elitistic sonyggers and dark souls fans reddit casual shit scum
>/v/ calls your favorite game shit and you realize that it was actually shit and change your opinion
>tfw /v/ liked and circlejerked about one of your favorite games so much in 2009-2011 you actually started to hate it's fanbase here mainly because how it's fanbase started to act towards the fans of other games in the series
>start realizing the FF games aren't as amazing as people claim
>still like them anyway
>The fanbase just stays in little clusters shitting on everything they don't like
>"muh turnbased"fags shitting on XV because different things are bad
>people bitch about prettyboy protagonists as if that's something new
This fucking fanbase, man.
Never happened, and when it has, it was blatant shitposting.
>ill pretend my favorite game is a japanese-only one that came out a couple months ago
First off, I bet you don't know any Japanese aside what you heard in your cartoons. Secondly, if your FAVORITE GAME is one that just came out, you probably have shit taste. Yakuza is a great series, but for the newest one to be your favorite game of all time? No, you're just trying to feel unique on an anonymous imageboard.
>angry fanboys shitposted threads about your favorite game with belligerent rants and posed as fanboys of said game until everyone started to hate it even though the deception was fairly obvious
Your pic related applies too
>that came out a couple months ago
You can shut the fuck up now.
It's my favorite Yakuza game, and Yakuza is my favorite series. Eat a dick.
>you can tell someone hasn't actually played the game they are shitting on
>ask them about a part that didn't really happen
>they fall for it every time
>you encounter a genuinely cool seeming /v/irgin playing your favorite game but don't acknowledged it
But anon.. /v/ never called Chrono Trigger shit
>get frustrated at game
>turn off console/tv
>plop down infront of pc and boot up Dark Souls 1
>i'm immediately overcome with the feeling of playing an awesome game and love of games in general and how everything is gonna be okay.
>remember when /v/ loved VI the best
>come back a few years later
>"VI is fucking shit. FF6fags are the worst people."
>/v/ calls your favorite game shit
>They just have shit taste
>/v/ allways gets in a shitfest whenever your game is mentioned, with a sharp divide between people who love your game and people who hate it
>the people who hate it are the memespouting shitposters who just greentext you instead of making any valid points
>never truly enjoyed any game that wasn't Nintendo
Why can't I break free from these seemingly childish games, /v/? I can't enjoy anything else. Nothing brings me home and makes me feel good like SMB or Kirby. It's weird. Never enjoyed any FPS either, is that weird?
>modern releases will never outdo your favorite titles
due to your nostalgia goggles
>you call your own favourite game shit just for the sake of shitposting
>the only criticism can put on your game is "fedora"
>somebody say's you have nostalgia goggles for a game you played recently
>don't play your favorite game for years
>it's aged terribly
oh yes how could I forget about that lovely phrase.
>/v/ vehemently disagrees with your opinion on what would make a particular series great
>get called a faggot on 4chan for the first time
what was it like anons?
I've never heard someone on /v/ call DR1 shit, but if someone did, I hope they died.
Preemptive fuck you just in case.
>TFW you've aged terribly
This is the most depressing thread on /v/
>a normalfag says your waifu is shit
i dont know how some of them learned of the word but fuck them
>/v/ thinks its waifu is games
has a 22, he won, now stop this shit!
HE AIN'T MY BOY BUT THE BROTHER IS HEAVY
>that feeling you got the first time you made something that anons liked and got a lot of responses
>try to repeat that feeling
>you'll never get it again
What did you make anons? I posted a story from my life where I was acting pathetic around a girl but slightly embellished.
>that one game no one dislikes
Awaiting edgy replies
TLoU threads are kinda civil now... that happend when PS4 version came out, that's odd
anyway, try to start a Bloodborne thread, holy fuck I dare you
Are you really beta enough to care about what some chucklefucks on the internet think about a game?
It's not like most people on /v/ actually play fucking games anymore. I'm willing to bet most of the people who post in the recent smash threads won't even buy/play the game.
People on this board like stirring up shit, sometimes there is good discussion of games, but mostly it's just dung chucking. It hasn't changed in fucking years, and probably won't unless we get more reddit fags.
What did /v/ say about My Favorite Game?
But.. those arent the last two digits anon....
>egoraptor thinks OOT is shit
I ordered my helium tank and mask the minute that video was over
better than 60
as i was born with the eyes of a fish i cannot see over 1 fps
>there's like three people on /v/ who remember my favorite game exists
I know, every zeldafag was mad as fuck
ADMIN ABUSE ADMIN ABUSE
>caring what /wee/ says
you guys are all pathetic losers. even r9k is better.
>try to start thread about lesser known game
>"fuck off marketer"
Enjoy your somewhat comfy ride into oblivion bro.
Honestly, the only reason I think people start with platform-war bait is for guaranteed replies, caring fuck-all about the game itself. Hurr we sure showed those sonyggers/nintendodlers/microshits. Absolutely disgusting.
First time I posted my opinion, I had a reddit tier ego and I thougyt everyone would throw themselves at my feet to suck my dick.
Some guy just told me to go kill myself so much I was retarded.
I don't even lie, I couldn't sleep that night because I couldn't deal with someone thinking I wasn't a special snowflake.
Times sure have changed. Now when I encounter someone like that I won't miss a chance to tell them to get over themselves. It's a good thing to be told to shut the fuck up once in a while, otherwise you just don't know when to stop.
>there are people who have not seen the glory of the elephant gun
>my face every time I see a "why haven't you bought an X?" thread
I never partake in console war shitposting but those threads are ALWAYS around. Do people never get tired of it or what?
>"Post your pet with your favorite vidya" thread
>Always full of nice folk
>Good taste in vidya
>Plenty of sympathy for people who recently lost pets
Best threads on /v/.
i think /v/ is one of the best places on the internet to talk about video games once you eventually develop that internal filter that filters out all the bullshit
everyone's opinion is equally shit here and everyone is a faggot
OLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO EBIN MEME BRUH XDxD xDDDDDDD :DDDDD

>uniformed pleb on /v/ calls the 360 a shit console for casuals
stay mad faggot go watch some more game grumps
hail, don hast tickled my funny bone
Who fucking cares what a bunch of anonymous people on an image board think?
If you like a game you like it. That's that.
Seriously man, grow some back bone and learn to respect your own opinions.
They don't. They have terrible taste in hobbies and how they spend their time.
>you're still capable of enjoying it despite that
>Telling some guy on /v/ that Wind Waker had infinite replayability
>Making a recommendation thread on /a/
Oh boy, those were the times.
Apparently I'm autistic for preferring how melee plays over brawl and it's just nostalgia
>MELEE BABBIES BTFO
What does that even mean?
Anybody who sincerely thinks God Hand, Paper Mario/TTYD, Custom Robo, or any of my other favourite games are shit has terrible taste and I have no reason to give a crap about their opinion.
>/v/ fellates SS2
>almost nobody has played the first one because BWAAAAA I HAVE TO INSTALL A MOD AND PRESS ONE BUTTON
You are autistic for not understanding what people are obviously saying. People don't think games shouldn't be complex, just that they shouldn't be complex in an unapproachable way.
Anon I played most of the game without mouse look. the only problem I have with it is how easy it is to get lost.
>/v/ calls your favorite game shit
>they are right
>it still remains your favorite game
>You are shit at your favorite game
>Ever making rec threads and not going there for weeklies
>devote years of my life to playing melee for fun
>still entry level as fuck against the pros or at tourneys
>That one retard who comes in every thread about a game you like and tries to convince everyone it's shit
I'll kick your ass one day, Razorsedgeisshit-fag.
>You know you're shit at your favorite game
I-I'm sorry, I really like Melee but never learned how to play it competitively or anything
These faggots is why we can't have decent Metroid threads anymore.
>you call a game someone else likes shit
>they defend it only by calling you faggot 1000 times
I have to have been in atleast 50+ arguments with other Anons defending this and DMC1 as my favorite entries in the franchise.
>that game that nobody ever talks about despite being part of a beloved franchise
>Game about stylish action and flashy combos
>make enemies weak to only certain types of weapons
>those weapons aren't very good
I will listen, but why?
>You'll never invest the necessary time into honing your skills
>You'll never learn high-level techniques and take down high-level players
>You'll never have a group of tournament bros that respect your ability to play
you can like it all you want, but if you actually defend it, you should shave your head and call yourself tameem because it is an undeniable piece of shit
Not the most polished games out there but god damnit I love this game.
Even people who normally hate shooters like Doom.
>that one fuck who always ruins threads by being an absolute shithead
>he just goes on and on with mile-long sentences about whatever when a certain game and only that game is so much as brought up
>acts like an incredibly hostile cunt even by /v/'s standards
>his writing style is so distinct you can tell it's him right away
>doesn't even have a trip or name so you can't even filter him
I wish that cockhead went back to making those "E3 Gameplay Trailer 01.gif" threads from last year.
They actually did a fucking fantastic job of it.
Doom has great gunplay but the levels are dull to play and boring to look at
It's hard to explain, right off the bat I should say that the reason I enjoyed the DMC franchise from day-one is not because of its combat depth, which I can and will admit DmC lacks. But there is just something about the style in DMC1 that feels so distinct, this blend of flamboyant style and horror. That other DMC games lacked.
After little devils stopped developing DMC, I have just felt Capcom didn't really know what they should make off the franchise, they just reacted to fan feedback, with no real concrete vision of their own. They made DMC2, people hated it, they listened to what people didn't like, and made DMC3, and people liked the over the top stuff, so DMC4 was more of that. I don't know, DMC2-4 just feels like some kind of reaction from Capcom that says "Is this what you want? Maybe?"
And that is what I LOVE about DmC, it brings back that sense of self to the franchise. DmC feels so completely different, yet similar. It has that confidence in being its own thing that the series had lacked ever since after 1. DmC is different, and it knows that, and despite the several changes during development. It feels like a game developed with a vision, instead of a game developed according to fan wants and needs.
..except that final white hair cop out scene though, that was a load of bullshit.
I actually have a personal theory that ACfag and Showafag from /m/ are one and the same
>Likes /m/ related shit
>Persecution complex the size of the moon
>Constantly whines and feels personally attacked by everything
>If anyone criticizes the Prime games or Showa riders in anyway, he'll instantly pop in, day or night, 24/7, be it on /v/ or /m/, to say how all Nintendo fans/all of /m/ is against him and the things he loves and no one likes Prime/Showa riders and he's the last bastion of defense against Other M fans/Heiseifags
They're just too similar in their shitposting to be a different person. Or maybe one's emulating the other.
>levels are dull to play
Nah, levels typically flow well with good enemy placement so you aren't going for a long time without combat, plenty of traps, and you have to get a good feel for the environment to find your way through. Also plenty of secrets to find if you're paying attention.
>boring to look at
Yeah I can agree with that, but it's not very important.
I thought his main thing was that he hated how Nintendo perceived Other M as a success and the Prime games as failures (from his point of view) and that they're going to continue doing more games like Other M because that's "obviously what the fans want" or some bullshit like that?
I think he only likes Prime 1. He pretty much hates all the other games for the fact that Samus is sexualized for at least one moment. It's in his personal opinion that a game's quality takes a huge dive if it includes that kind of fanservice, even in the case of the other Primes or Super.
>/v/ calls deus ex shit
>/v/ says human revolution is better than deus ex
There's having an opinion and then there's going against facts.
>Your favourite game is literally perfect
>No one ever says bad things about it
Feels good not bad taste
>/v/ calls your favorite game shit
>can't think of any reasons why it's actually not shit
>think about why you consider it as your favorite game in the first place
Whether he likes them or not is irrelevant. Seriously, most of the shit he argues about probably stems from a mental psychosis like most of /v/. We are talking about a borderline retard who doesn't talk about games for a sake of passion but rather some weird need for attention or argue. He'll never carry a coherent opinion about them nor will be straight forward and honest.
This goes with Elzi, Quentin, and the rest of the subhumans that populate this board. That's one of perks of talking to anonymous people or being anonymous. You can be an absolute fucktard and not even get banned.
>call them casual for not being able to beat it
Only thing is ACfag TECHNICALLY doesn't break any rules, not even shitposting. You can't and shouldn't be banned for sharing your opinion.
He's still a complete fucktard though.
>playing game for story
I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was playing a book
>blocks are randomized
>it's the same block types and it tells you what the next block to fall is
>not knowing what balance is
>you can find yourself in a no win scenario
except that's entirely up to you, because every piece fits together some how, and whether or not you adapt is entirely on you.
There is literally nothing wrong with tetris
Those mean nothing. You can easily ban evade and the lack of effort to enforce means you can easily repeat the same shit.
He breaks 3 and 6. He will post misinformation to start flame wars. When confronted about it he'll desperately start shoving words into your mouth.
>/v/ calls your favorite game a masterpiece
>tfw /v/ will never EVER call your favorite game shit
Kirby 64 motherfucker
>someone says your favorite game is shit
>explain to them exactly why they're wrong
>no response most of the time, or they side-step/shitpost
It's a reassuring type of feel.
Ninja Star and Fireworks are fucking godlike.
My favorite levels are the autumn forest on Popstar, the river on Aqua Star and fucking everthing on Shiver Star.
I was the king of the poor kids for a while because I had the Pikachu n64.
>fucking loved minecraft
>got it in the alpha and played all through up to release
>spent well over 1000 hours on it in total
>talked to notch about it on /v/
and then on reddit when he abandoned us
>got all of my flatmates to play it in one server together
>so many good times had
>hear about who the kind of people are that play it
>pre-teen children make up the majority of the fanbase
>autistic retards make up 90% of the rest
>minecon comes up with solid proof of their autismo power level
>can't talk about it without being called a retard
>can't find the drive to play it any more
>never play it again
>second minecon comes up like a gravedigger ready to rape a corpse
>can't bear to watch the streams of videos
>even today I can't bring myself to visit the general or look at other people's creations
the same thing happened in primary school when that autistic as fuck special needs kid started liking sonic which I was a big fan of at the time. Every time I brought it up or someone noticed my sonic bag tassel they'd always relate it to that fucking retard and assume I was retarded as well. I can't even see a sonic thread and not think of that fucking tard.
Games can "age" in terms of mechanics and looks. It can introduce a new concept that works great, and gets expanded upon. As games improve that mechanic, the original gets worse in comparison and can be shit to go back to.
You can get back into the games, and play them like you did before, but that doesn't mean it won't feel fucking weird at first. Accept that some games don't hold up well as time goes on.
>first time on /b/ at the ripe old age of 15
now 21 so take my word when I say now /b/ is nothing like then /b/
>ask a question about something, can't even remember what it is
>"lurk moar fagget"
And so I didn't post again for about two and a half years.
Even now I only post rarely.
Well anon anytime I've gone back to play game that has "aged poorly" that line of reasoning just doesn't pan out.fallout 1,2 ,baldurs gate is better then dragon age origin and always will be. system shock 1 is better then bio shock, diablo 1 and 2 are still great. I could go on but in effort to save you some time where does this begin and end?
Not every game does this.
This is called a game that aged well and holds up.
Most games don't age like fine garbage. Aged poorly is thrown around like edgy. I'm simply saying it can happen. An example in my opinion is Destruction Derby. Great games when they came out, but fuck if they don't feel and look like garbage now.
Aged poorly is a game in which the controls, interface and/or mechanics are archaic. Games that haven't had the benefit of improved sensibility regarding the UI or basic level control.
I wouldn't say that games like Fallout or Deus Ex have aged poorly, but games like Ultima Underworld from a purely control and interface driven stand point has.
I don't know why you expect threads for games over 10 years old. There's literally nothing left to say at that point. The threads are always "Hey, remember this game?" And then "Yep"
>Someone calls modern WoW babby easy casual shit
>They then point at Vanilla WoW as the peak of the franchise
>Mfw someone legitimately thinks anything about Vanilla WoW (Both Pve and Pvp) was difficult, complex and anything but decided entirely on your gear and how much you grinded
Canadians are the worst with it, and Europeans are a close second.
I can't see why it's so hard to understand that each state is more it's own tiny country. Something is rarely complete garbage across the whole US.
>view drawn loli that hurt nobody and in fact lower the children rape rate
>literally get v& because people dont like what you fap to
How is this culture not pathetic?
Only one man in my state has ever been arrested and imprisoned solely on children in cartoon porn, and it was poorly drawn porn of Lisa from the Simpsons.
Seriously, fuck you Idaho.
That is agreeable, the dungeons were definitly more "difficult" (That is, Vanilla difficulty which means don't stand in fire, dispell debuffs, don't go OOM and don't pull threat) and had way more effort put into them but I was more referring to raiding for PvE. Raid bosses has 2-3 mechanics MAX and except for a handful of neat bosses they were always the same dull mechanics like kill adds, don't stand in X, dispell debuff Y, spread/move away if you get debuff Z. As you said, time investment was where the difficulty came from. You need resistance gear to do things. That isn't difficult, that is tedious.
BC and Cata pre-nerf Heroics were far more difficult than Vanilla dungeons.
Also Vanilla Pvp was unbalanced, poorly designed and all around shit but that's a rant for another day
/v/ has shit taste, so why would I care?
I remember going for the first time in a manga goodies shop around 2007
When I asked if they had anything from FFIX the shopkeeper and his buddy basically laughed at me for liking "kiddie shit".
I'm proud I didn't go full spaghetti and actually stood up to my opinion back then
But in retrospect, the fucking irony behind his comment.
Yeah big bad /v/, supporters of that Vivian crap is so intimidating.
>when /v/ isn't calling a game shit, it's defending it like a wall against any and all criticism
>criticizing that game makes you a sour grapes faggot
>seriously caring about what some faggot in the internet thinks
It's not that I care what they think. It's that how they express it is fucking annoying. You feel as if you're dealing with children.
>inb4 look away from the damn screen
It's hard to when these are the only people you can discuss games with.
Taking something someone said online to heart might aswell kill yourself now
Stick as in stick body? Nah, she's probably a tad chubby since all she does is play vita and eat pocky.
Sticky as in sweaty and dirty crotch? You bet your arse she is,
and that's why she is my waifu
Totally unrelated, but doesn't warrant it's own thread.
Has 4chanX been broken for anyone else for a long time? The tabs don't update properly for new posts.
>/v/ has threads about one of my favorite games
>gets too big
>"stop liking what I don't like" brigade shows up
>turns into nothing but shitposting and false flagging
>entire board ends up hating it and bases their opinion of the entire community on said shitposters
I've been on the latest version since June. I've had this problem for months, haven't found a way to fix it.
Also yes, I use Greasemonkey, seeing that it's required for the plugin to work.
I usually wait for the guy to release an update to fix my problems, but sadly this one hasn't been.
>that game you like that a majority of /v/ hates and when you try and defend it using knowledge you gained from actually playing the game you're only given counter-points using hyperbole regurgitated on this board over and over again, knowing the faggots haven't played it but just gobbled up what /v/ told them was bad about the game
>>DaS faggots and DD faggots constantly going at it over which game is better
Maybe like, a year ago. I haven't seen conflict between DaS and DD in ages, and with the rising popularity of Dark Souls, it's stepped out of favor with /v/ while DD remains relatively niche enough to still be liked
/v/ both hates and loves my favorite game series at the same time
I don't think it's weird. I found as I got older, just like my music tastes, my video game tastes also got a lot more selective and I stuck to only playing certain series and franchises or genres.
I'm pretty sure anybody calling VtM:B shit would be laughed out of the board at speed. /v/ fucking loves that game, for good reason.
I'm kinda the same way, but I had the fortune of growing up with both a PS1 and N64, so I liked platformers and action adventures back then, and I like those now. Biggest difference is tossing survival horror into the mix because muh M rating, but even that's a subcategory of action adventure.
I was Anonymous and they didn't know that I'm really a
femaleand I actually do like men, so I didn't really think anything of it. I mean I am a faggot in the literal sense, I guess, so it was just pointing out the obvious to me.
>/v/ says your favorite series has faults and is only really good when in fact it is perfect and the best series ever made
Really? As I got older I stopped caring, I was a lot more selective when I was younger.
Like I'll go on /v/ and see alot of shitposting on some AAA game then go about dropping a torrent for it, playing it and maybe enjoying it.
It's not like I've always been super anal about the things I play but as I got older I just became more complacent, especially since with other things in life taking priority it's not like I have the energy and time to discern between what games are good and bad as decided by /v/ or other gaming communities.
That's pretty weird, usually when you get older you "find" yourself and figure out what you're like as a person so it only makes sense you'd figure out more what your taste is and be more selective.
No, I know what my tastes are. Like for instance, I like green tea, but if someone passed me some oolong I wouldn't throw it away. My niece enjoy Angry Birds and phone games and nowadays I'm not averse to playing with her, even enjoying some of the stuff she has, whereas in my younger days I probably would've groaned and wished I was playing something more along to my tastes.
Video games has become less of a hobby and more of a reprieve, so maybe that's why I've become less selective. But then again people are different.
In my age I just find myself more open to different things.
I know that feel. You just have to find something you find mildly enjoyable and stick with it, you won't find something really enjoyable until you have been involved with it for awhile and it's grown to mean something to you, you know?
