Thief is one of those games that does story right.
There's a good story if you care, and take the time to read it and enjoy all the world building.
But if you're just "tl;dr fuck this gay shit" the story is basic enough that it frames for an excellent game.
So I wouldn't be too worried about missing the story if it ain't your thing.

Replay the game, watch the cutscenes and try to read everything. There are some plot-related easter eggs early in the game.

Hello /v/. I have been bored out of my mind lately and have started to try out the Shin Megami Tensei games. I figured I liked Persona and would like to try these and started with SMTIV.
But... is the start supposed to be so slow and uninteresting? I'm the kind of fag that plays games for story though, so does this one get better later on? Please help me, I want to like these games! Maybe this just isn't a good one to start with as a beginner?
Music is pretty bitchin' though.
