Is there any reason to go on living knowing that I'll never experience Sikent Hills? I can't take it anymore. I can't stand my wife or my infant daughter. The prospect of Silent Hills was what kept me going and giving me hope.

Can't simulate that without your bros really dying.
Or at least I hope that's what causes soldiers' minds to break on the battlefield, not something as weak as explosions or knowing you could die at any moment.

RPG is so-called not because of the presence of role-playing per se, but rather because of the presence of game mechanics that originate in tabletop role-playing games such as D&D.
Character progression, class-systems, inventory/party management, and the like make a game an RPG, not the idea of taking on the role of a character (which is ubiquitous - you play as Mario in his games, for example).

The problem with those 3 games is that they were basically PS1 games, which wasn't inherently bad, but they didn't polish them at all.

Remember this terrible, laggy, never-updated, p2w piece of shit game? It's back.
Apparently some company that isn't completely awful bought it and actually cares about the playerbase, so they've been pumping content into it like a motherfucker. Most recently they released Nest, which is a nice return to actual bullet hell gameplay.
Also, playing in Chrome will probably give you lots of problems with lag since the flash integration is so weird. Download the flash player projector and it should make your connection perfect.
