This thread isn't meant for people that enjoy playing or watching competitive melee.
I want to hear your reasons for not liking the game.
I personally love melee but here are a few things I can't think of that may cause issues for some people.
> It's not very accessible
In order to play melee you need to have a copy of the game, a gamecube or wii, gamecube controllers (which can be hard to get), and a CRT TV
> Too technical for the causal player
In order to be decent at melee you have to have some basic tech skill. If you want to be good you have to have some pretty advanced tech skill. You can't really learn this stuff while playing other people. You just have to grind it out on your own.
> There ins't a great online version of the game
Netplay allows you to play melee online but it's laggy and honestly a piece of shit. This leads to my next point
> You have to play with people in person
Playing CPUs gets boring real quick. Netplay sucks. If you want to play the game you're gonna need someone else in the same room as you.
> Limited character selection
In my opinion this is a load of bullshit but I know some people like the variety of characters that smash 4 offers.
> Melee players are smelly
Someone else brought this up in another thread. I though it was hilarious because it's honestly true.
Aside from these I really can't see why people would have a problem with melee except for a matter of taste. Melee doesn't require you to memorize combos like Street Fighter or other fighting games. It's fast and doesn't take 45 minutes to play a single game like League of Legends (which some of you may prefer).
Tell me why you think melee is over rated, why you have no respect for it, or anything you hate about it.
