What would it take to make mobile gaming become less shit?
I was thinking about it and all I can come up with is if a wealthy company put all money into designing a phone packed with features specifically for one single game that they also designed and marketed the fuck out of.
I was thinking, an MMORPG like game with frequent updates, but the phone would have to have something like a Tegra X1 (or 2), the game would have to be set up to easily take advantage of typing without having to load up a slow, burdening keyboard (so maybe physical) and the touch screen would need to be thought about in terms of controls... maybe using the screen for basic things like selections but use the keyboard for controls?
I don't know, what do you think could be done to shake things up for mobile shit?

Good choice. Press turn is a good system and I appreciate that it benefits memorizing enemy weaknesses.
My personal favorite is Breath of Fire IV. The row system allows every character equal opportunity to shine as all characters are in combat and the combo system with magic encourages experimentation and can even be fun in just trying to get ridiculous combos.
