General yuri threads were meant to contain miscellaneous discussion posts, screenshot sharing, etc. for anime series that weren't notable enough to deserve their own threads. Just because they've become more and more of a catch-all doesn't mean they can go completely off-topic. Posting about namefags you don't like and other inane bullshit has basically pushed some of these threads to bump limit lately. We can do better.

I see your point but it's possible to be a yuri fan without being gay especially in Japan where if I understand correctly, the female portion of the fanbase is mainly straight schoolgirls.
The thought came to me after reading something from she who shall not be named about how she would like to read from more lesbian authors in yuri manga. I immediately thought of the recent NNA disaster but also about how some good yuri authors move to or come from yaoi and het manga.

All I want in life is a decent unambiguous yuri swords and sorcery type anime. Just a dnd campaign in anime form and yuri. What do you want most?

A male author is unlikely to lie and claim to be female. It's mostly a cultural thing, they're more likely just to not state their gender.

It'd still be incredibly hard though. Most mangaka start out making doujinshi, meaning that they've probably meet other people face-to-face who could call them out if they tried to lie. They would need to have a representative (who would abide in their secret) interact with all potential employers. They could never physically go to any signings, interviews, or awards. Giving the popularity of twitter, they would have to be extremely careful not to upload any pictures that would give them away as well. It could be done, but it would just be a chore.

In the last chapter, Kotooka gives up on Tsukasa precisely because she accounts for the fact that Tsukasa's love for Washio was just a phase, which neatly settles the love triangle: she can't ever win Tsukasa if she's straight; and if Tsukasa's going to move on eventually she's not nearly as much of a douche for stealing Washio.

This tidy resolution is terrible for other reasons, but in light of that the fact that she ended up with a boyfriend five years down the line or whatever isn't totally out of the blue. I think the abrupt cancellation of the series forced this development to be even more unnatural than it was already going to be.

Unfortunately the TLC'er will only proofread one doujin/chapter per month so either Itranslate an Aikatsu doujin or a Sakura Trick chapter per month.
