I haven't watched the second episode yet but Stella no Mahou ain't that gay outside of fujo shenanigans. Maybe it might turn it around but even ignoring all the indulgences of last season's New Game and the bar it set, it's pretty dry.

Sort of. That is the sequel to Remix Heart.

I just read the 2nd half of Remix Heart today, actually. Almost the entire thing is split between ecchi fanservice and weekly "Find the grimoire" plots. 90% of the fanservice is yuri, and the het fanservice is much more tame.

It has two big problems, though. That the other 10% of the fanservice that is het is taken more seriously than the yuri, and that the main character used to be a dude. The main character being genderbent doesn't bother me as much as it normally would, since it is permanent and they eventually accept that they are a grill, and no one around them knows it and they still act extremely gay. The het being taken more seriously is mitigated somewhat by the fact that the only character unique to the manga to graduate to the actual game is Mai, so the het love interest doesn't get 'promoted' you could say. Though, neither does Mai's main female love interest (Shiori), who I enjoyed immensely since she immediately goes 100% gay the moment she is introduced.

Out of 25 chapters I saved 20 really gay pages to a folder and there were a dozen or two more I didn't save. BlazBlue Chronophantasma Extend has four VN chapters exclusive to it that have a lot of Mai x Kajun, and a confusing scene where Mai makes out with a building where I was not sure if it was gay or not.

A lot of the problems throughout the manga are resolved by Mai kissing girls to take advantage of their weird taste ability. The one dude halfway through is the only wrench in that, but it is a big annoyance afterwards. I was led to believe Mai gets an ending with that guy (Taro) but if that happens it isn't in Remix Heart.

Decide for yourself if you think it is worth it. The dude annoyed the shit out of me, but overall I personally think it was worth reading as a BB fan who at least loves seeing Makoto be gay as fuck constantly. Looking forward to Makoto and Mai's interactions in BBCF.
