This was the saddest scene of the entire fucking season. Dale and Diane were lovebirds but the lodge destroyed both of them. Diane became a shell of herself who resented Dale for apparently raping her, and Dale is clearly feeling the pressure of years chasing shadows catch up to him, as he's basically Mr. C once they run away together. The fire between them burned out, and Diane starts crying and gripping Dale's face because she knows they can't rekindle it.

It was retarded on purpose, the overimposed face of cooper during that scene was meant to represent the viewer realization that was he was seeing was a "dream" an act. Alienating the viewer so he can see everything from that point from an objective point of view instead of staying submerged in the plot

The shot of pic related was the "courtain call" coop mentions a bit later, a intentionallly forced and cheap end to the the quirky narrative.

Episode 18 was Coop, representing that awakening of the viewer, the return to reality.

Just finished watching the finale
DoppelCoop in Twin Peaks was tense and great but finished off a bit too predictably and unceremoniously with one punch lad
Sneaky Kyle becoming canon was great and the lighting in the past was great, really made it feel like it was actually the old series. The scenes taken from the original not being the bluray remaster was also wonderful
The last quarter of the finale and especially the ending has made me officially LYNCHED, though. I don't know what I expected but this was not it and I have this weird feeling of both disappointment and fulfilment because on one hand, the Laura plot was resolved by never having happened as well as the journey of watching the series was amazing but on the other hand, the ending is just stringing us all up on the nearest telephone pole
