The Twelfth Doctor and Clara materialise on Planet Karaoke. At first Clara is incredulous that a planet is named after a type of entertainment from Earth, but the Doctor scolds her for assuming that humans invented karaoke. He tells Clara to "go sing songs" while he fixes the friction contrafibulator.

Clara asks the Doctor if he ever had musical ambitions, and he replies, "Just once.". He has a flashback to when he formed a band with his first four incarnations. The band ran into a problem when they all wanted to be the drummer.

Clara leaves the TARDIS, saying, "Four Doctors? I'd pay good money to see that!" The Doctor, unaware that Clara has left, tells Clara to wait a few minutes before singing because he's about to shut off the TARDIS, which will also turn off the translation circuits. After realising that Clara didn't hear him, the Doctor tells himself that everything will probably go fine.

I like to headcanon the endpoint of the Cybermen (not the Nightmare in Silver 'iron men' versions, but the endpoint of the ones endlessly crawling up the colony ship of the S10 finale) is the ship/sentient oil from The Pilot/Heather. For me it plays well into the idea of an optimistic SF future Capaldi's era has toyed with, the concepts around that colony ship and finale in the first place, and helps make Heather's appearance in the finale feel less contrived. It's pretty damn baseless though, just a headcanon. But I like the idea that the Cybermen end up as something that, while directionless, isn't really evil, just a post-singularity technology thing.

Like I said, it's just a headcanon, I'm not trying to make other people "believe it" or anything, it's just a nice thought I like. The puddle/ship doesn't relate directly to the Cybermen's plot in the finale, but they're clearly an extremely advanced technology (so much so it even integrates with the TARDIS just fine). The Cybermen in the colony ship have nearly endless time to evolve and climb up and up, and I think it ties in nicely with how the Capaldi era has played with whether humanity/"cyberhumanity" deserves a uotpian SF future (most notably in Kill the Moon but it's been a running subtheme) for the Cybermen to, in the end, evolve past their villanous nature and become a less understandable post-singularity blend of technology. For me it cleans up some of the episode a bit, like how the puddle could appear inside the colony ship but the TARDIS would struggle with the black hole stuff (again I'm not calling that a plot hole or anything, just that Heather saving the day felt a bit easy, so my headcanon makes it feel a bit more founded) and earning Bill's ending a bit more by tying it more into the Cybermen stuff.
