Which companions, in your opinion, do you think would have been better with another incarnation of the Doctor, and which companions were perfectly paired with their Doctor and couldn't have been better with anyone else?

For the 1st one, I think Clara would have been far more tolerable if her story had wrapped up along with Smith's. She felt as wrong with Capaldi as say Sarah Jane would have if she traveled with Colin Baker.

On the 2nd one, I think Donna with Tennant and Amy with Smith were top tier Doctor/Companion pairings and were some of the genuine highlights of the NuWho era. Amy would have been so awkwardly out of pocket if she traveled with Tennant as would Donna with Smith.

I know now it's a stupid idea because of how famous he is, but I remember back in 2010/2011 when Sherlock just started and Benedict Cumberbatch was still relatively unknown (fucking hell thats weird to think about) he would've made a fucking great Master.

Richard E. Grant would've been great as well, for either 11 or 9. Shame he was wasted on The Great Intelligence. I guess the G.I. is fine but Series 7 having the stupid "each episode is standalone" format killed any chance of him being a decent villain. He's not even fucking defeated on screen, is he? I like the Name of the Doctor a lot but that episode has absolutely no resolution whatsoever. It ends like the cliffhanger of Part 1 of a Two-Parter with The Doctor and Clara both in his time stream as well as the War Doctor reveal, but there's literally no explanation for how they got out or what happened afterwards in Day of the Doctor.

What I never understood is why they did something as redundant as doing novelizations of stories from the show. Audio stories and countless original novels add new adventures, but reading a direct novelization is like reading the script and simply imagining the scenery to be verbatim to the episodes.

Why do people like Name of the Doctor
It's one of the worst episodes of modern who
Matt is good in this and I guess it looks visually good
But otherwise it's a terrible story which isn't even a story because it's a 50 years anniversary prequel in fact
