just finished watching fwwm
what a fucking mess. setting aside viewing it as a movie (which would make it even worse) and viewing it as something for the fans, it was so pointless, most of it was showing stuff we already know happened happen exactly how we knew they happened, and the new stuff went fucking no where. what was the point of the new agents if we're gonna just forget about them 30 minutes in?
it literally added zero to the series, except i guess the ring and david bowie, which also went nowhere. if i watched this at the time of release and this was the last of twin peaks for 20+ years i would have been pissed

I loved the first and second season, but this is just painful to watch. Lynch has lost his mind. He must think he can get away with anything. I've never seen so much crap in my life before. Part 7 has been the only good episode so far - I mean, don't get me wrong, it was still really bad, but compared to rest of that crap, it was kind of okay.

I don't know how anyone can enjoy this, maybe it's "cool" to like it, I really don't know. But nothing makes any sense here. The rare times something is happening (most of the time it simply isn't) it's only meaningless bs. Characters come and go, nothing adds up. In addition, its unnecessarily brutal - a young boy gets run over by a car, for example. As someone said here, no sane person can enjoy this crap.

I fell asleep twice watching this episode, it is so boring. I'll stop watching the third season now. Already spent eight hours of my life I never get back. Life's too short for crap like this. I'm really curious at which point Showtime realized they screwed up.

He should have never done a third season, he ruined whole Twin Peaks for me. He should have stuck with designing sports bras instead...

That's exactly the reason he made it. That's the point. Your version is bullshit. We got to see how Laura Palmer affected other people, but never how they affected her. She was fetishised and mythologised, but the fantasy, fairy tale version of both her life and her death wasn't the whole story, or even the real story. The reactions of the people of Twin Peaks said more about them than Laura Palmer. and your own version has no meaning. It's not some sacred, meaningful, soulful thing, and to assume that your fanfic headcanon of Laura Palmer is somehow more valuable or important than the character's actual personality and suffering is pretty dumb, and completely missing the point. You're basically saying you'd rather make her a symbol than have her be a person.

Do you want my guess (and somethings that is far logical and actually makes sense within the plot)? The convenience stores is in the middle of the explosion. The lodges and their inhabitants exist beyond time. Time has nearly no meaning to them, they use it as a coordinate, nothing more. Because they are the evil nature of man they meet in a convenience store located inside of man's greatest manifestation of his evil. Their domain exists there at a specific moment in time and space where humanity unleashed an unspeakable terror upon the world because it is symbolic for their duty within the universe (that is, to bring terror and suffering into the world so they can collect garmonbozia and keep existing).

This is not Twin Peaks! This episode is totally disrespect for the viewers. Impossible to watch if you are a sane person. Some may say this is art. It is not! It is just a director throwing crap at viewers and laughing thinking of their reaction. Maybe he has some frustrations and he is now intentionally completely destroying Twin Peaks. If you are to make another season, please get another director, really... Zero connection with what we loved about the old Twin Peaks, zero connection with even the new story they started, just a bunch of ... crap. I can t even describe what happened in this episode.

This episode really made me want another black and white Lynch movie in the composition style of Blue Velvet.
The lighting, the mood, the kids walking and talking, the era, everything was perfect.
