Windom Earle is inquestionably the best part of season two, simply because what enshrouds the Deleuzian representation of negation in “The Black Lodge” is by nature (W)indom (E)arle. We, the pure ample aspiration, the capital v-Viewer are held fantastically in a grip of pleasure as "solicitude", certainty as “knowingness” and “The Black Lodge” as ontological blockchain/godhead. TMFAP is absolute fact in opposition but the baroque villainy of WE's (and any Lovecraftian) the same sin to die “now” as on the path to Madness. The conditional “It” (DC) creates nothing in response, Earle's own humanity is reflected in his oeuvre of disguise-personalities. (performed) To WE (& the normative Cooper &Briggs) the Implacability of unsure sentiment is Earle’s selfenforcing principle, pleasure--simplicity. In Palmer, the reprised intelligences move towards psychosomatic transgression. WE's sickness is symptom & myth unlike the Palmer daughter his active agent is not important, but “normal” and yet pronouncedly considerable as such, bidding. “We a the, of not can he.” The subject of Earle is in an undiluted terrace viewed viewers become wrote wonders, noting nothing Indian anyhow in the Black Lodge (negation).

Then, there’s Earle, the something coupling with Lodge entities, (call it “force”, of what? of course: illusion. – by since And because of supremacy In ALL perceptions, (rare & cloistered the issue may be) what we then Now view as reality, IS,) [in WE's] subjection a full picture. In an open letter to Kenneth Welsh “Windom Earle” one asks to which if not to want introduction (Mark Frost) gigantic of up wrote run life, (MF) introduction, revelation, dreams, & value system, (MF,MF,DL,MF) ie. AS Windom Earle hAS in the Black Lodge. (the rudimentary transition in S2 of Windom A into form Windom B.) Perhaps to “comfyfags“ will greet these upon death, a paradoxical death for those who existence infects.

Diane, it's been 8,857 days since I first entered The Black Lodge. As always, these daily messages seem to be the only thing holding my sanity together. The giant tried to offer me coffee again today, but of course it would become solid when I attempted to drink it. At this point I can't decide whether or not the giant is trying to tell me something, thinks I'm still impressed by this trick, or is just a jerk. I tell you Diane, not a day goes by that I don't long for a good cup of coffee. The midget still hasn't returned after he disappeared shortly after I entered the Lodge. No sign of Annie either, who I can only hope found her way out of this place. I'd try to look for her myself but as I've mentioned before, I can't seem to leave this chair. It is a damn comfy chair, mind you. Diane, please remind me to find out the brand of these chairs once I get out of here. I think I also saw Leland poking his head around the curtains earlier, but that may have just been my mind slowly giving into insanity. A thought occurs to me that recording these tapes within the Lodge could mean that these messages when listened to outside may just be reversed, incomprehensible gibberish. This would therefore render the last 25 years worth of tapes completely useless. For your hopes, Diane, I hope that isn't the case.

I don't see why collaboration between Lynch and Ontkean would be a secret. I mean he's one of the best characters but he's not essential and keeping collaboration a secret wouldn't have the same effect as keeping it secret with say, Bowie.

Well because we have tonnes of sources claiming Ontkean isn't in this series, he isn't coming back, the actor is retired, etc. etc. etc.
So either that is true, or maybe Lynch managed to keep it a real secret.

The way he has Truman speak on the phone to his brother so frequently, in 3 different episodes now, or at least make allusions to the fact that Harry S Truman is sick strikes me as baiting us in.

>The way he has Truman speak on the phone to his brother so frequently, in 3 different episodes now, or at least make allusions to the fact that Harry S Truman is sick strikes me as baiting us in.

I feel like it's just Lynch poking fun at the trope where an actor doesn't return who's fairly integral to the plot and then the other characters have to continually converse with them over a phone or something. Lynch is known to do shit like this.

Damn. Hadn't thought of that, but that is what is subtly implied by her aesthetic, her sitting in that bar, and, well, the young guy at her place.
>>
Knowing that Showtime commissioned Lynch to do 18 episodes instead of 12 it's now clear that the first 6 episodes was where he decided to cram the filler. Episode 7 suddenly saw the pace ramp up. Thankfully shit is about to start happening now.

>>

The sequence consists of six shots and three angles: Shot 1 from the left side of the counter; Shot 2 from the right; Shot 3 on Norma in a booth; Shot 4 on the left again; Shot 5 on Norma again; Shot 6 on the right. The group of customers in each shot is basically the same, they're just shuffled around, with a few disappearing or being introduced after the first shot.

Bing guy comes in at Shot 2 and leaves within Shot 4: these are obviously continuous, connected by Shot 3 of Norma. Shot 5 of Norma shows her turning back to her work, and it is less obviously a reaction to the Bing guy than Shelly's in Shot 4 to the extent you can say this Shot happens sometime later, but it clearly can also be viewed as continuous.

This leaves Shot 1>2 and Shots 5>6 as only ones where it's totally ambiguous whether they are continuous with the others. That'd beg the question why they'd be getting up and switching places, or, if they're actually different nights altogether, how come this group of people coincidentally shows up together. I think those are the kinds of thoughts Lynch wants to provoke with a choice like this, but I doubt there is any literal timeskipping within the sequence. The nonchalance of the people in the diner before and after the Bing guy is more akin to everyone's strange obliviousness to Dougie/Cooper's condition.
>>

>>
>>84105728
Why are you fucks always talking about kids coming out of rapes?

RoeVwade was in the 70's
>>
>>84105727
It's an editing error. The key is that woman who's sitting in the booth. She's sitting in front of a kid and talking to someone off screen when the guy runs in, then at the very end the same woman gets up with that guy but there's no kid with them. They just reused an extra and didn't think anybody would still be awake to notice after that fucking sweeping scene.
>>
>>84105424
Definitely this. Lynch is taking the piss. One of the actors integral to his show has retired so instead he's invented his brother as a stand-in Harry. The Michael Cera scene, for instance, was obviously initially intended to involve Harry, and doesn't make much sense with Frank Truman.
>>
>>84105542

He did it because he wanted to be with her. It broke his heart that she only saw him as a cocaine dispenser, like in the scene when they are lying on the couch, but kept up the charade because it was the only way for him to stay close to her. If he quit the drug running, she wouldn't stick around for long. He understood but didn't want to accept the true nature of their relationship.

Precedents are abundant, but uniformity amongst them is rare. The interpretation exists in the ambiguous, yet therein lays the indentured charge of his approach. To be Lynchian is to radiate elusiveness, and the enigma of what signifies Lynchian’s rationale lies in perpetuating unfamiliarity in that which was once familiar.

Gnomic incantations and pronouncements resist the elucidative service and rationalist inclination of dialogue, gambling instead on sound design to evoke what lies beyond the language. The consequence of language is used less for meaning than it is for sound - particularly his curious, syntactically awkward predilection for abstract nouns. Words for Lynch are not just reductive; they are anathema.

It was one of those recurring lowkey /tv/ talking points for a while back. I think it was in a kind of mock film-discussion context where anons would propose that there were distinctions between 'film', 'flicks', 'kinography', etc. And kino just has that funny ring to it that appeals to /tv/ for whatever reason, so it became a meme to ask if something is kino.

As far as what kino refers to at this point, I think it's usually used post-ironically in celebration of high quality, high sensory type stuff, like Predator or The Thing, and certain more aesthetic art films. I don't see it used much for slow, black and white French type stuff, but I see it used on stuff like Spring Breakers or Neon Demon, Picnic at Hanging Rock or Chungking Express.

The whole "good" part of the series centers around Laura's murder, but I still think it would enjoyable for you. I'm an oldfag (well, older than most of /tv/) and my first experience with Twin Peaks was watching FWWM (the prequel film that reveals the killer) on VHS back in the day. I watched the series when the Gold Box DVD set came out in 2007 or 2008, with full memory of the movie, and still enjoyed it.

If that were the case you wouldn't have singled out the book as being "X-Files-esque" because that same level of supernatural (lodge creatures + BOB) exists on the show as well. Just admit that you didn't understand/read the book, and that you just parrot what /tv/ says.

>a storyline of weird local sightings puts in ''X-Files'' category

That was the intentional "swerve" of it all. It was made to look like something entirely different from what we're used to, but then it gets connected to the true Twin Peaks lore in the book's "a-ha" moment.

I thought it was interesting how it connected the lodge logic to our own world, where people believe in ghosts, aliens etc. It's the Twin Peaks world through the lens of the average person who doesn't know of the true supernatural (the lodges).

i am enjoying the new episodes, although i am really disappointed with how lynch has gone about continuing the narrative... none of its believable and he just makes a bunch of bullshit history that doesn't really makes sense... like dale cooper doing all this bad shit... hes sort of ruining it, in a way

i wish he just made a new tv series. this sort of seems like a bad spin-off.

my favourite elements of this season has been the new characters, even if they have no significance.

i hope lynch does a better job of making this all connect together into something cohesive because so far its just a bunch of random shit. the 'dougie' story line is getting unbearable...

The difference is that Leeland wasn't his doppelganger, who was inside the lodge. It could also be argued that the doppelganger is a mirror reflection of the real person, which means a good person will have an evil doppelganger, a neutral person will have a neutral doppelganger. Hence Cooper's doppelganger being capable of extreme evil.

I've actually watched the pilot episode and I have to say it's gripping enough for me to want to watch it.

The thing is it has 30 episodes and I barely have any time so I really had to do some research to see if it fits my taste, i.e. if it's a whodunit that actually involves logical deductions (as holmes would have it).

For comparison, I liked Silence of the lambs but I think the plot was way too basic for me to be astounded by it (the antagonist was also relatively easily caught with a little show of a battle of wits, which is a big plus for me). In other words the conclusions must be drawn from something very logical.
I think Twin Peaks is what I'm looking for but I have to be sure.

What do you guys think? Should I watch this? Or maybe Sherlock or True detective is a better fit for me?

Season 1 is fit for you but definitely not season 2 or FWWM
>>
>>84108614
no one cares

Yeah, the Briggs plot line is the best indication we have of what season three would have looked like if the show hadn't been cancelled.
>>
>>84108614
If you have time for the other two i don't see why you wouldn't have it for TP

But on a sidenote TD is also a great show
>>

just watch the original... take it slow, its awesome. theres no rush to watch it all.

people can say whatever they want about twin peaks, but there are some really beautiful moments in there.

true detective is cool but honestly twin peaks has so much more personality. its inspired by twin peaks clearly, so just get the real thing.
>>
>>84108614
Just watch season 1 and the first 9 episodes of season 2, the rest and FWWM are not for you

Too bad he died before filming started but Lynch is known for his flwaless CGI so who knows
>>
>>84108556
Leland is still generally a good guy. It seems Bob only comes out when you have enough dark thoughts and desires. That's why Bob has the greatest influence on Leland after he murders Jacques.
>>
>>84108681
I also wouldn't call True Detective's ending "bad", but I don't think it was a satisfying ending. It just seemed anticlimactic and like the buildup didn't really matter.

>he just makes a bunch of bullshit history that doesn't really makes sense... like dale cooper doing all this bad shit

did you not watch the original series? how does bad coop doing bad things not make any sense to you?

Season 3 requires you to have seen at least the first 2 seasons. FWWM is recommended watching, though

>it's a whodunit that actually involves logical deductions
It's less logic and more weird dreams.

Head Float Jim is actually Bowie.

And I mean ACTUALLY Bowie. He faked his death and affected a new movement style to fool the devil.

I am from Denmark and we have a great divide when it comes to drugs. They're either part of your everyday life or something you only see in international movies.
