Why do people greenlight figures that transform by flexing the plastic? How is this easily avoidable bullshit considered acceptable?

Just got the siege on cybertron set. For the anons that own a Ginrai, how's the plastic quality? "Magnus Prime" feels really flimsy and soft in places which got me curious. I wonder if Hasbro's factory dropped the ball on the mold's production.

Will putting Sky Shadow/Overlord's plane on top of the tank damage the tank?

I just recently bought a used MP Bumblebee from someone. Are both of the faceplates often shit on them or did I get one that someone hamhandsed? Because both plates have a spot on the forehead at the same spot where the yellow looks a little scuffed.

Yeah, the paint seemed scary when I took him out of the box. I'm pretty much leaving him in robot mode so he never gets fucked up. As for the plates I can't tell if it's a scuff or plastic flashing, or what, but at the exact spot on the yellow forehead bit, it's like a darker yellow spot that you can only really notice in the right lighting. He's a good figure otherwise, though I think he should have been like a $15-20 retail deluxe. I feel like the paint and face plates and the little Spike figure along with the big box are all an excuse to try and justify charging you more for this figure.

Yeah that's a common sentiment. Take off the paint and MP Bee suddenly turns into a smallish chug deluxe. He's fun and really good for what it is, but he's not 60$ good, no where near close. The Exosuit (which really sucks) doesn't come close to making up for it.

So far, I have Shuffler (debating on getting Blitzwing for that version, or not)) and a Wipeout (if they ever release one based on the POTP Tailgate). Who should be the third new member? I'm thinking of a flying vehicle or a tank.

I wonder what MP Grapple would have looked like unpainted? I noticed a few parts on him use a bare orange plastic that's really close in color to the paint used, they probably could have pulled off using unpainted plastic.

I doubt Takara would ever have another mostly unpainted MP anymore after how much people whined about Shockwave, though.

RID least ditched heavy reliance on megatron as the big bad (at the cost of the ...forgot the term but basically rotating villains) and beast wars gave us primal and while he looked (a bit) like prime least his character was very much refreshing (so was megatron with his vanity but same name as always).

I hope in the next tf show they give us new leaders, with (just for marketing purposes) just references to the past ones ie a monument of bumbleshit to commemorate how yellow he was

Pretty sure Protoform Starscream is the latest known case of GPS from a Hasbro release (Takara Blackarachnia and Motormaster both have it though) I have CW G2 Slingshot and he's perfectly fine for now.

What I want to know is how pic related compares to Slingshot/Metalhawk in terms of plastic quality. I've never heard anyone complain about blazemaster, and he's been out since 2009. With all those thin panels and ball joints, he'd be bound to shatter if he had it.

Get im and swap his shin fins, so its jetmode don't suck, they are in place just by fricction (pull from the cilinder part, not the thin part), you can remove his stickers but boat runway doesn't have paint on the top part. still pretty nice.

Sixshot have some minor articulation issues, his knees bend both front and back due transformation and those can get lose easily, his ankle rockers have their stop points too far, so that limits the poses, helmet looks a bit too big, Overlord in the other hand lacks a master and also has an oversized helmet and his ab guns don't work. I'd say get Sky shadow.

No locking points for the arms isn't an issue for most modes. On the loose shoulders it varies, but it's pretty easy to fix with future.

In any case, he can pull off poses well and the knees on all the one's I have are pretty good. The only real issue has are the ankles, no clue why they're like that, but they're the only thing keeping his legs from having pretty good articulation.

While Sky Shadow can pull of poses better due to his transformation, the transformation suffers nice it's stupidly simple. The tank half is good enough, but the top half barely transforms.

Is it wrong that I keep getting excited over these Takara comics? They're always so fun, but every time I read something from IDW it feels like a chore.

And honestly the toy itself is kind of garbage. The legs in particular hinder any pose ability it may have had and the titan master compatibility in truck mode is so poorly handled it seems like and afterthought

Yeah, admittedly a lot of the problems I have are with the toy itself, but the window scratches are nasty

I have a few so let me see...

-Hips vary, so it sucks you got stuck with a lemon there.
-Windows.. yeah, this one's a real downer since it's hard to tell in the package. 2 of them have scratches (not that noticeable), and the other's fine.
-I have to disagree with the legs, he can get some good poses out of them, but it's a bit harder if the hips have issues.
-On the TM compatibility, there's a bit of a trick to it. Clip the TM on, push it slightly forward, but make sure he's at a 90 degree angle after being attached, carefully lower the windshield then tab it with the truck nose and make sure to tab the expanded legs at the end. Doing this out of order can result in the TM getting disconnected.

I'm a bit surprised you didn't bring up the bumper paint. On the one's I own, 2 have spotty paint there and there's no way to tell in the package if the paint was applied well.

The titan master problems I have stem from the guns, actually. You can combine them and have a TM sit in it like a turret, but there's no way to put this turret on the truck without looking out of place. You can of course separate the guns as intended and have the TMs hold onto them from the truck, but it also just looks really silly because of how big the guns are.

It makes me really mad because it would be so easy to make it a better toy. Oh well
