I'm looking to get me a Sky-Byte after marathoning Car Robots.

What's a better figure, the original RiD toy or the Generations toy?
>>
Will they give Hound his death from the original movie?
>>
>>6369724
The original toy looks like Sky-Byte but isn't as good a figure as the Generations figure.

Other way around, the Generations figure only barely resembles RiD Sky-Byte, if you're hung up on accuracy.
>>
>>6369724
I really liked some of the Car Robots designs. Ultra Magnus, for example. I don't know how good the figure is, but I liked his design even if the skyscraper legs were a bit much.
>>
>>6369724
The Gen toy is better all around, but the original toy has a better-looking shark mode. The generation toy's shark mode has a forced-dynamic pose that I personally don't like (if it doesn't bug you then it's not a problem)
>>
>>6369738
RiD Optimus and RiD Ultra Magnus' toys have aged extremely well actually.
>>
>>6369745
The only figures from that series I had were several Spychangers (which I loved and would like to have again) and Side Burn, which sucked. I might look into those.
>>6369728
It would be nice if he did die; if nothing else for NuMegatron to make a statement. My only real hope is that Hot Rod does stuff and doesn't suck as much as the trailers make him seem. But if it's even slightly passable it will be a victory for the film series.
>>
>>6369694
Is this a real IDW comic? I can't tell
>>
>>6369751
Yep it's real
>>
>>6369751
It's a real comic. It's not really happening though.
>>
>>6369748
RiD Optimus, Magnus and Megatron are all worth having, at least get Optimus if nothing else.
>>
>>6369740
The Generations version is bending the wrong way for a shark, if that bothers you. (Mammal vs fish spines)
>>
>>6369751
It's real, but the scene is fake. Blast Off is very gay for Onslaught, who wasn't gay for him until Airachnid from TFP rewrote his memories to make him gay for Blast off in exchange for Blast off's cooperation.
>>
Are there any good deluxe-ish sized firetruck figures? Planning to make custom bodies for the Headmaster Jr's and I'd like to keep them all the same height if possible.

Is it really gay if it's robots though?
>>
>>6369773
Well if you open them up to romance at all, naturally it's gonna go that way. There's like 20 females tops across the whole fucking species.
>>
>>6369772
Didn't think so, ah well they'll just have to scale in vehicle mode rather than robot mode. Thanks anyway anon.
>>
>>6369773
Female transformers were recently inroduced into the comic, like entire ships worth of them.

And it's still gay 8 in 10 times.
>>
>>6369773
>this dead horse
Well, they clearly have male and female body types, use male and female pronouns, and understand the difference between the two as evidenced by cybertronians being shocked that fembots still existed beyond the handful on cybertron (the camians, or whatever their name is), so yeah, its still pretty gay. However, because of the 12:1 male to female ratio, its NBD

Personally, I have no issue with it. It's a logical conclusion to having characters with human-like intelligence. People typically pair off, and in a mostly single gender society, those pairs will be the same gender.
>>

That's how I figured it, to be honest. I legit didn't even put much thought into it until way later on when the female transformers actually did show up.

Then again I guess Onslaught is more like an Onslut, given he lets 4 other guys plug into him.
>>
>>6369787
The problem is that they're being written like human gays. Tfs in idw didn't kiss, or nose nuzzle, or whatever, they don't even sleep, but then we're shown them holding hands, almost making out, and sleeping side by side.
Also, they seem to process relationships in the same speed as humans, but are usually with one person for 10 million years.
It's just pretty obvious its gay for the purpose of being gay.

The original is better. The new voyager doesn't have nearly as much paint and functionality, and it didn't even bother to fix the stupid curling-iron arm. The old RiD figure is harder to transform but that shouldn't be a problem if you're not a post-Prime babby.

I don't think I've had anything too bad, I bought a MISB Masterforce Wilder for £120, I was over the fucking moon then when I received it it'd been bashed around in shipping, noticed a hole near the center of the box where something had pierced it and after opening it had gone right through and broke the cellophane window of the toy box. That colour is not used anywhere since the trailer is fully painted light blue, with some brown wash to show dirt. The wheels are clear blue plastic, but that doesn't really help explain anything. It does mean you end up with easily the most painted toy in the entire line so far.

So today I went and bought a TR broadside despite the horrible stickers because it's cheaper than the LG version and I already have repugnus, I got 5% off him from standard retail but that is little consequence.

Did I fuck up?

Also how do I fix the hips on him, he can hold the splits but forward/backward motion of the legs ie a kick and he can't hold it, tried some nail polish which has worked wonders for my TLK slash (his arms went from spinning like a fidget spinner to being able to support TLK voyager optimus, his legs are a WIP however) but this isn't a balljoint and shit isn't working.

Any ideas, all google has given me was "I'll have to research it" but no answers.
>>
>>6370025
Use pledge floor polish
>>
>>6370025
I don't know about slash specifically, but if you can get the joint fully apart there's plenty of things you can do you tighten them. I've used hockey tape to increase friction to good effect before. Or really anything you can fit in there to make it tighter.

And >>6370030 is right, floor polish is superior to nail polish.
>>
>>6370030
Unavailable in my country, dunno the equivalent stuff we use in Australia which is why I went with nail polish.

But question, since you said what I predicted would be said, is pledge more pliable?

Because nail polish is thick goopy stuff, but I fear its either too thick to seep into the waist mechanism, or do I need to pull him apart and use more surgical implementation?

>>6370032
Slash is easy, he's all balljoints, I just added a second layer to his legs, previously he wouldn't stand at all, now he's a little better than broadside, can stand but easily knocked over, trying to get him stiff enough to...compensate for the leg of proper elbows and hold shit up.

The problem is dabbing the stuff, floor polish or nail polish, I'm only applying to the connection of the crotch to the legs and its not doing anything other than making it shinier in his neither regions, noticed I applied too much and his ability to hold the splits is beyond ridiculous now though, in a good way
>>
>>6369971
Damn, you worded it pretty well.

>Also, what's this "premiere edition" thing I'm hearing about? I'm gathering that they're probably more expensive...

Nope, it's just a new marketing term to separate Deluxes and Voyagers from regular one step / basic transformation / etc. figures. This is post-AoE Hasbro, the proper figures are the exception and not the rule.

So yeah, in other words it's just an excuse to make them more expensive.

Peg holes for his guns on his "hands" are prone to stressing/breaking because they're either too small or the gun pegs are too big, not sure which.

Otherwise, he's great. It's a two headed robot dragon.

For one, it's a cool robot that transforms into a dopey dragon, which is cool; on the other side, I heard that Glassjaw's arms are painted transparent plastic and I don't trust transparent plastic.

How did Hasbro used to cast single transparent pieces for figures, like lightpiping? Did they cast the eyes for every figure in a wave on a single sprue? Doesn't seem cost-effective otherwise.
>>
>>6370232
Only thing I can think of that they had sprues for batches of a character. Like one sprue had clear parts for however many for one character, a sprue for another color, and so on. So that way a complete set of sprues could produce a batch of one character.

Pretty nice a fun, but lacks wrist swivels that would help him a lot in botmode, also his instructions aren't clear, lots of people complained about loose dragon waists, but you have to tab them to the back using the port in the midle.

Man, I wish.

Some think that distribution is good because we're so close to the factories geographically (notice how new stuff is usually found in Southeast Asia). I think it's also because the people handling this stuff are Transformers fans. None of Hasbro's other lines -- besides maybe SW -- get new toys as consistently as TF does here, and that includes Marvel and Pony.

Found TR Perceptor at Target today.

Holy fuck he's an awful figure. First the RTS figure and now this?
>>
>>6371212
What's the issue? I thought people liked him.
>>
>>6371216
oversized scope hinders most of the head movement, he usually just topples over backwards since he's got no heel support, I'm pretty sure his pelvic joints are attached backwards on to the pelvis, nothing locks his thighs shoulders and neck down in robot mode, no waist swivel and the scope hinge prevents any titan master from being a head on him other than his own.
>>
>>6371219
Also his titan master was so firmly wedged in that the head of the titan master comes off in the slot. I got it out in the end but I've never had that problem on any of the others.
>>
>>6371212
>>6371216
>Holy fuck he's an awful figure.
I've been saying this for threads on end and everyone would just go and deny it's any bad.

I still think it's a good toy but it feels terrible on hand; the plastic feels really cheap, there is a lot of leftover plastic from the mold process, the resistances of the gun's handles is fucking weird with the main handle being too loose on the scope but just right on the hands and kinda loose in the forearms, the side pegs on the gun are thicker so there's that, the left thigh comes apart really easily, the titan master is garbage in head mode, and the torso engineering is baffling but that's by design.

>>6371219
The head is just surrounded by bullshit.
>>
>>6371221
Thought that could have just been mine, titan master neck problems seem random overall. But yeah Perceptor is crap.

>>6371222

>>
>>6371212
I'm hoping someone on Shapeways will end up making a more reasonably-sized microscope, otherwise I might have to try it myself. The stock one is just too fucking big.
>>
>>6371212
I actually wanted it because the mold looks good aside from the large scope, but now I'm not so sure.

Do any good 3P Perceptors exist? The RtS one from a few years back always looked like crap to me.
>>
>>6371228
Fans Toys Tesla for an MP G1 Perceptor and Planet X's Asclepius is an awesome Voyager WFC Perceptor.

What's wrong with the RTS Perceptor though? I hear people shit-talking it all the time but never handled it myself. It looks fine to me.
>>
>>6371120
Oh boy, I wouldn't mind living under the ruling of a neo-fascist dictator that executes drug users and journalists if that meant having this much of a fully packed TRU.
>>
>>6371225
The scope is on a weird place in regards of its scale.
The G1 figure's scope is fuck huge to keep up with the proportions of the microscope and the TR figure's scope looks too small for the microscope and too big for the robot mode; maybe if it could go a little more to the left but as it is it's already bothering that side's shoulder.

He's honestly not a bad figure. The plastic feels normal, I think people are just REALLY picky about red plastic for some reason. Every time a new figure is released in red, one of the first complaints is that "it feels cheap". It certainly doesn't feel cheap or brittle to me, but maybe I got different standards. My copy didn't have any mold flash on it. I totally had the super-holy-fucking-shit-what-the-fuck-is-going-on-here tight head connection though, but then again I had the same issue with Sentinel, Hardhead, and Astrotrain.

As for the scope size, I think it's fine. But then again I like bigass mounted shoulder cannons. It also moves out of the way so you can put the head into any direction, and Hardhead has the exact same issue of the cannon blocking head movement as well, and it's solved the same way: Move the cannon up or over a bit. He is a tad back heavy, but you can also flip out his tread sections to act as spurs if you really need to.

If you're talking about the part I'm thinking, there's a couple little tabs that are supposed to lift over a really big piece and then lock into place in a tab really far from their starting point, so combined with the kinda shoddy plastic they used for Magnus those tabs tend to just get bent and warped to hell. I cut them off and have had no problems with him since, they didn't even seem to be necessary to lock the shins into place.

Honestly the only 2 knocks against trypticon are the size and the fact the head (as in the dino head) never transforms, the only alternative they had was to have it compact down into the chest and that chest is a cavity for titan masters, bummer

>>6371252
I find the removal of head integration has helped a few designs but not others, perceptor's head would of been in the way regardless of it being part of the toy or not.

Unless they shrunk the head itself a smidge for clearance and ruin the aesthetics.

But that's some, galvatron and PMOP would of been fine, hell they look like they were intended to work without the gimmick, galvatron suffered the most out of the line because of the need for a expanding head gimmick.

Would of saved him if he was a leader class with a helmet gimmick rather than a spring up crown

Just friction, but I'll drill a small port for the 5 mil post i adapted to the drill base on the wolf neck, originally made that drill for my cw Drillhorn.

the tip is just one piece, it came from a PR pink triceratops (it was too slim to use).

So I want to get one of those smaller Allspark cubes for my collection and it seems that the only ones on eBay are knockoffs from China.

Has anyone here bought said knockoffs or know if they're shit? I'd imagine a box with some weathering wouldn't be too hard to screw up.

See it just kinda looks less like a cool faceplate and more like he's wearing robot panties on his face.

No one wants to buy a $13 toy for $25 just because they put it in a box.

I think they really fucked up on the colors with him. The yellow's too yellow and the black's too black, and it all looks like cheap knockoff plastic when it should be glossy. And the scrapheap details really needed more silver and gunmetal details painted in to break up the solid black.
