I wonder how they could do headmasters in a video game, they could make it like gta, only any vehicle you find can turn into a body.

Which versions of the Enerogn mold Scorponok have GPS issues and which don't? I could use first hand testimonies, since a lot of GPS claims just seem to be rumors. For example, I've had Fuzors Torca since I was a kid and he is well played with and still in one poiece, but people claim he has GPS now.

Now that I think about it, do the hasbro and takara versions of trypticon have any differences? The only one I noticed was that the hasbro one had purple circles on the shoulder cannons whereas the takara one had unpainted circles.

Maybe the plastics a different color, but I haven't been able to tell.
>>
>Yellow plastic chest
>Yellow plastic legs
>Painted yellow head, not yellow plastic and the paint chipped

Why are they doing this?
>>
>>6367670
It's not GPS, it's this beige plastic component on the chest that has the tendency to snap. The part is bearing all the hefty weight of the arms and this is compounded by how tight the shoulder joint when turning.
>>
>>6367680
So they can resell the mold three years later with a yellow plastic head.
>>
>>6367675

Its true, dirge is the best of the 3 conehead seekers.

He also just seems meh, wings are panel heavy and ratchets could be tighter but strong enough for the most basic of needs from the mold, infact I'm worried about snapping off the wings so care is needed when sliding the torso or snapping the legs.

Otherwise he's ok, plus more reliance on plastic color than his 2 brothers, now I need a hasbro mp11 colored skywarp and I can quit seeking seekers once and for all
>>
How are the MP Seekers?

>>6367767
Word to the wise, those winglets on the ends of the wings?

DON'T flap those, they come off easily enough but 1 don't do much to change the look for robot mode, and 2 they can fracture the wings, as seen here, its because its a thin section with a panel line between, easily repaired if you come across it but you do NOT want to do that.

Also sprue marks are horrible, whoever cut them was ripping the cutting tool away from the figure in a clear rush.

>>6367774
Kinda eh, mp03 (the first seeker mold) tried to hide the jet kibble and ended up giving sword scabbard looking hip kibble, not megaposeable but it did the job, also face swapping gimmick with each of the TAKARA heads getting different expressions to make each one different, but the deco's aren't remotely g1 accurate though mp03 starscream wouldn't look out of place with a 1/60 scale model.

Then we get the newer mp11 mold, some debate its a all new mold, it could just be borrowing engineering with the mp03, I say its a heavy retool job that focuses on the robot mode, the newly added heel spurs (which were once the jet engine detal remolded to flip out) remove the need for the flight stand of the mp03, and all past jet gimmicks are intact (landing gear, jet intakes move, nosecone opens and airbrakes move), if you are a hardcore transformer fan these are the best seekers you can get unless you go the 3p route...one problem with the seekers of the mp11 type is the mold is heavily worn and newer releases are either getting sloppier in the qc department or looser joint wise, my best seekers of the mp11 type are hasbro acid storm and hasbro thundercracker, people have noted the takara skywarp and thundercrackers can vary a bit and apparently the reissue of takara starscream is shoddy, and from my time with hasbro starscream I believe them.

The coneheads are meh with dirge being the better of the 3 (despite the crack I posted), thrust having a loose waist and ramjet getting a shitload of issues.

>>6367779
>>6367774
My honest tip, either get 3p's, wait for a takara 3.0, or get one of the oversized ko's.

Unless you can get the actual mp11 types cheap of course, acidstorm and hasbro sunstorm would be the cheapest to find officially but all the rest especially the takara seekers are costly with progressively worsening qc, and if you want starscream with the cape, try to look for the asia reissue takara starscream, plastic grey nosecone (not painted grey over blue so less scratch damage) and the head is plain black plastic and not glossy black, both those sections are prone to scratching during transformation

I love my seekers but I'm just about done and had enough of shit like this, I mean the robots will never be able to kneel but flight poses are fine...but I want it all, and I won't get it all here.

Other than the color differences, there were reports of the T30 painting the headmaster port, causing it to be too tight, plus the obvious scuffing issues, apparently there was a running change that fixes this.

I had to get the Takatomy version anyway since the T30 was skipped here. It was in one of those last waves in a line that retailers tend to skip.

It really depends on your priorities, if you want a nice city mode with working elevator and lauching ramps go for the G1, if you want a huge robot with decent articulation, a medium size robot with also with good articulation and better proportions than the G1 that also has a face accurate to the show go for the TR.

Just ignore the head gimmick all together.

Just stick to giving each Headmaster certain powers based upon canon traits of the Headmasters:

Mindwipe can put the psychic whammy on people who are briefly paralyzed

Siren has super-human endurance that lets him take endless abuse

Squeezeplay has all sorts of kung fu moves

Fangry has berserker super strength

Skullcruncher can move around super duper easier in water

Weirdwolf can move super fast

Hardhead has extra damage dealing long range attacks via his cannon

Brainstorm can fly in outer space whereas Highbrow can't.

Chromedrome, Highbrow, Hosehead, Horribull, Apeface, and Snapdragon are all average type characters with no special tricks

They've been better since DOTM. I rememeber seeing Dino/Mirage and Sentinel Prime, and thinking they looked really cool. Sentinel in particular seems like an adaptation of a Japanese design, like he was from Transformers cybertron or a late G1 show. It'll still be taller than the G1 based on Trypticon and Devastator's heights that's good enough for me, I reckon though that due to the cost of Titan class figures they'll change up the size each year
Metroplex > Devastator > Fortress Maximus > Trypticon has been 24'' > 18'' > 24'' > ~18'' so if Scorponok follows that trend and they aren't just making the Decepticon figures smaller he should stand around the same height as Metro and Max (also as some anons have been saying he may be another half arsed retool of that mould as much as I don't want to believe it)

I fucking love LG39. People don't like him because his colors are weird, but they grow on you. His little transforming jeep weapon is fun, his paint quality is stellar, and overall he just looks stylish. I didn't care for the cartoon head, so I bought the LG EX headmaster set, but other than that, he's great. My second favorite TR toy after Hardhead.

I bought all 4 original Autobot headmasters from Hasbro, and then from Takara, and the Takara versions ended up being my favorite just because of better/more paint apps, higher quality, and the included titanmaster vehicles are a fun bonus.

1. We have no fucking clue.

There has been speculation that Hasbro will basically extensively retool either Trypticon or Omega Supreme to create Scorponok; that they would not have announced the poll in the first place if they did not have plans to have at least two of them sharing the same mold.

2. Takara's version will have the anime version of the shield Scorponoks made to block the Master Sword, at the very least. Also,a 50-50 chance that you'd eventually get Black Zarak repaint.

Could? Seems unlikely because of the sheer size difference.

I could think of a few ways:

-Game begins with the OC (you chose the faction), then a battle between T30 Metroplex (Blaster) and OG Trypticon(Sixshot).
-Autobot campaign gives you the original Headmasters, OC, PMOP (Ginrai version) plus unlockable Hot Rod, and Blaster with Cassette assists.
-Decepticon campaign gives you the Decepticon Headmasters, OC, Sixshot, Megatron, plus unlockable Galvatron and Soundwave with cassette assists
-Head swapping only adds stats to the body, and gives a special ability that only activates after a gauge is filled, then stops working after depleted
-Special circumstances allow you to control Fortress Maximus, Scorponok, Trypticon (OG and TR), and Metroplex

Story centers around the transformers being affected by strange radiation that starts killing them, but end up being saved by the arrival of the TM, who save them by housing their sparks in smaller TM bodies (old bodies are lost due to the radiation), then provide them with the means to combine with copies of their original bodies that function like the originals.
-Plot centers around the Decepticons creating a super weapon that can harness the power of TM's to rule the Galaxy (TR Trypticon)

The premium version of the game comes with the OC toys for Autobot and Decepticon

My favorite thing about the DS games was that stealth/being in vehicle mode was important. It was probably the only Transformers game I've played where it felt like you needed to be in vehicle mode at any point. That and enemies being cars that were just hanging out in traffic, driving around, blending in. The Xbox 360 version just had enemies spawn when you transformed, but the DS games had cars that were right next to you in traffic for minutes reveal themselves. Holy shit, anons, I have such fond memories of driving badly and accidentally hitting a car on the street to see it almost transform for a split second, and then speeding off because I found them out, that was so badass.

The first movie had such great designs, and Jet not Munky all you want, I thought the Starscream design was inspired and gave him a needed ferocity. Daily Mail got hold of Sir Anthony Hopkins over the weekend to talk a bit about his experience while working on Transformers: The Last Knight.

Hopkins plays Sir Edmund Burton, the 12th Earl of Folgan, who has devoted his life to the study of the ancestries of humans and Transformers. He and Mark Wahlberg (as the hero Cade Yeager) team up to make an unlikely alliance to save the world from being destroyed by war between the Transformers and humans.

‘You’re not going to ask me to explain the plot are you?’ he says. ‘Because it’s so very complicated and there’s the whole mythology of four previous films that come into play. I have to admit, I don’t quite get all of it.

‘All I know is I play a highly educated, eccentric English lord. I had a terrific time making it. Mark Wahlberg was wonderful to work with, the locations were excellent [Northumberland, Norway, Arizona, the Isle of Skye and Stonehenge] and I showed up, put my costume on, said my lines and stayed out of trouble. That’s all I ever do. It beats working for a living.’

Hopkins is always at pains to destroy any smug ‘luvviness’ about the acting world. He loathes the painful intensity of the method actors, who insist on staying in character throughout filming (‘what a pain in the ass’) and repeats several times that ‘the greatest difficulty in this business is the sense of entitlement some people have just because of what they do’.

The article is accompanied with a nice shot of Sir Burton and Hot Rod

>"Because it’s so very complicated and there’s the whole mythology of four previous films that come into play. I have to admit, I don’t quite get all of it."

Wow, this is interesting.
We already know that all the previous movies will interlink, there is also the clear confirmation from the trailers and TV spots, but it's always a pleasure to have inteviews where there are references to this fact.

In the end, we don't have already an explanation of why Earth and Cybertron are so connected. After all these trailers and TV spots, there is no spoiler about the mythology that will open the doors for a bigger universe. We see only the action scenes and little bits of the plot, and nothing else.

Following up to the previous news post regarding her possible involvement with the Transformers Franchise, it seems as though Hailee Steinfeld is confirmed for her upcoming role on Transformers Cinematic Universe spin-off movie Bumblebee.

I like the old designs a lot more than the new ones but I wouldn't have minded it if they were all designed more in the lines of Sentinel Prime from the beginning.
He looks as nimble as a giant alien robot can look without looking frail like the old ones or like he is making magic all the time just to move like the new ones.

Why are you expecting good pacing and atention to subplots? this is transformers son! 1 hr of grounchy comedy, 1hr of pan shots, military awesomes and explosions and 20 minutes of cgi bots.

+8 minutes of credits.
>>

Because they got the writers of Iron Man and Black Hawk Down, and the cinematographer of John Wick.
Bay has proven himself that he is a competent director when he has people with talent working with him (13 Hours, The Rock, Bad Boys)
He's putting a ton more effort into this movie than the other Transformers films, even when just on a level of communicating with fans

There are a lot of G1 Topspin/Twin Twists out there for two reasons:

1. Hasbro heavily produced both figures when the second wave of Transformers came out and sent a LOT of them to stores, as far as cases went. They were the only Autobots from that wave for their price point (basically more than a mini-bot but less than a G1 deluxe car figure) and were heavily ordered as a result.

2. The figures, Topspin in particular, were heavily bootlegged in the 80s by fly by night companies
>>
>>6369084
That's because he knows now that he's a prisoner of the films just as fans are prisoners of Michael Bay directing Transformers.

Ever since TF 3, Paramount has been holding Michael Bay's career hostage to force him to churn out Transformers films. Pain and Gain almost didn't get made because Paramount held it hostage to make Bay do parts 3 and 4 and Bay probably got told any further films of his would be contingent on him doing TF 5

I started on this a few months back for my Shapeways store but it has several sizing issues I need to correct. I'm actually considering dropping the project altogether since I'm not sure sinking another $10 into a second prototype that MIGHT work is worth it when Fansproject Madlaw is only $50-ish right now and is a much better representation of Quickswitch than this barely-remolded repaint.

Are his feet diecast? Like a plastic ball joint going into a metal socket? Because that's going to make Ginrai's balancing issues look like a minor oversight, especially with the metal in his torso.

I was just thinking about the first bayformers movie for some reason. I wonder if that joke at the start of the movie where Shia Lebeouf's dad drives through a porsche dealership when he's taking him to the used car lot was a deliberate joke about Hastak's inability to license porsche cars for transformers?

I feel like I'm either the first person to think of this or I'm incredibly slow.

Just came into some money and was thinking about dipping into the Beast Wars Masterpiece line (especially since Dinobot was confirmed).

Can anyone redpill me on MP Cheetor and MP Optimus Primal?
>>
>>6369195
I haven't bought a transformer in years but this is so eniticing. I bet you TLK is going the way of Transformers Prime and Megatron makes a new army of zombies out of corpses he discovers
>>
>>6369417
In my humble opinion and only based on video reviews, Optimus Primal seem phenomenal. But I just can't bring myself to love MP Cheetor with his kibbles everywhere.
>>
>>6369417
All those figures in your pic except for the 3P Scourge have been reviewed by JobbyTheHong.. He's a fun reviewer. I'd look at him?
>>
>>6369417
All those figures are so fucking cool and I love them all, except for shredder who I don't have, but want. You should totally get them and help me support more late 90's/early 2000's based toy releases. The official MP line is great and amazingly show accurate for a transforming figure,, and Perfect effect's Optimal Optimus is impressive.
>>
>>6369417
Optimus Primal is basically perfect. His only issues is that his antennae are susceptible to paint scratching during transformation and that his hinge elbows are a little unsightly.

MP Cheetor is almost perfect. Joint tightness on him is a huge issue though and due to the way he's assembled it's pretty much impossible to loosen or tighten anything,. He can also be slightly fragile, which can be doubly fun if you have excessively tight joints. He's also a kibble nightmare if you choose to store both his guns on his back in robot mode, but he's really clean otherwise.
>>
>>6369426
Same here, Cheetor kinda has me on the fence. But if I get Optimal, I feel like I HAVE to get Cheetor too, since we'll (hopefully) eventually get the original cast.
>>6369431
>>6369435
Thanks for the advice.

>>6369427
I love JobbyTheHong. I also really like Bobby Skullface's reviews. Neither of those guys seem like shills to me, but I watch Jobby more for entertainment than his opinion.

>>6369437
Yeah don't get me wrong. It's impossible to not recommend Cheetor. The few issues he has are perfectly livable and he's a great figure otherwise.
>>
>>6369417

MP Primal suffers from some paint scraping on his robot mode face if you're not EXTREMELY careful with transforming him. He has pretty much 0 clearance on the inside and every last bit must be moved correctly or you'll rip paint right off his face.

Cheetor I think has some breakage issues relating to tolerances being overly tight at times.
>>
>>6369441
Cheeter also has some pretty nasty clearance issues in his chest. On top of there just barely being enough room for the beast head to stow away, they didn't test for clearances with the whiskers so if you want the chest o close properly you'll need to shave off a bit of plastic to make room for the whiskers.

The post-ROTF period was truly a Golden Age for transformers. Possibly the best main line transformers have been and perhaps will ever be again.
Of all of them though, Terradive always stood out to me as the best. He looks great in both modes, has an intuitive, fun transformation that was fairly complex but not difficult and pretty unique for a jet transformer too and those colors were fantastic.
Never mind bayformers, Terradive is up there as one of my favorite transformers of all time.
