The design I'm afraid is gonna be a constant shellformer, none of the chest components remotely intergrate with the body and the leaderclass at least TRIES to use the shell for the hip and shoulder panels unlike the older premiere edition, its engineering nightmare.

The voyager looks better but its basically voyager movie galvatron (ie all shell), I'm thinking of donating both to charity out of spite

It's impressive to see how much the focus of the Generations line has shifted. Pretty much every wave over the past 10 years has focused heavily on pre-movie bots. Mostly '84-'86 characters to appease the rank-and-file geewunner. Now we're finally branching into entire waves of different stuff like the Headmaster anime bots, and post-movie stuff like Misfire and Doublecross, characters who really haven't had any representation since their original toys. Although to be fair, we did just come off of Combiner Wars, which was pretty much the biggest G1-cartoon-pandering line we've seen.

I don't think so. All the promo has the heels folded in.


Almost all the problem with the God Ginrai mode is from Ginrai itself.
The ankles being pinned joints, unless you got lucky having extremely tight pins, the figure often can't even handle the weight of itself.
You can adjust it by moving the feet a bit backward so the weight is not all focusing on the back. But in the combined mode, it is the weight of Ginrai plus more.

People on 2chan ended up using the red heels along with the blue CW joints (which are really tight and strong) to support the lower legs directly bypassing the ankles.

Takara fucked up the ankles on this one, though judging from what they were dealing with- small space, narrow size. They most likely just went "annhhhhh, it's good enough for a "CHILDREN'S" toy."

Which they were right (unless you have to pay the import fee).

Because it's a pretty shitty material to make any kind of toy out of. The only thing it's really good for is toy cars, or other things that don't need articulation. Hotwheels stopped using it for most cars mostly for safety reasons. Their motorized track accelerator things basically turn them into little bullets on wheels.

I know Geewunners have been conditioned to think that their amazing childhood toys MUST be the product of a superior and more luxurious era of toy design, but no. Diecast is best used sparingly to add sturdiness to some components, like MP Prime's spine joint, or weight to feet/shins for better balance.

This guy's entire deco is great. The body just works really well in white and the obsession over cartoon accuracy lately made me forget how great chrome, silver and painted details look.

Theres always gonna be some figures around because they drive the entirety of TF's. Theres always gonna be a Optimus, Bumblebee, Megatron, etc. Also the last two lines were filled with a ton of literally who's and guys who haven't gotten toys in ages. It's a good time to be a TF fan, relatively speaking. Complaints about quality aside (which are true in a lot of cases, but you can blame penny pinching execs for that shit), we're getting a pretty wide variety of 'bots for a long time now.

Combiner Wars is not worth it. No elbows on Scrapper or Longhaul, no Devastator shoulder ratchets, no extra weapons for the constructicons, and no flip-out visor. UW is decent if you can get one for ~160 freedom tickets, but good luck getting it for that price.

Either way, the DNA add-on is a must. It makes it my definitive Devastator.

What happened with perceptor's 3rd mode from being delisted was that the middle tab under the silverpiece that flips up is supposed to allow the robot to stand. The first run figures have the tab be too thick and therefore does not allow the figure to lock securely in place and for that reason alone they scrapped any mention fo the tank mode. The tab is supposed to fit inbetween the two legs of the titan master.

I'm not against it for the size, but moreso the engineering sacrifices needed to get that size. All the hollow bits, lack of moving parts, and Long Haul are just tragic.

Still, it has a great aesthetic. All the third parties except Fans Toys have a cool neo classics look, but I prefer UW for a generations stand in. My preferred Devastator overall has to be pic related.
