The new Black Series Vader really is amazing. It's so good that it makes me angry that the previous Vader was allowed to be released. It's such a halfassed piece of shit. And it sucks, because I prefer the ESB/ROTJ armors, but now that's the outdated piece of shit...
Though mine had a loose ass ankle. I had to glue that up.
>>6293225
GIVE ME FIGUFARTS I NEED MORE FIGUFARTS BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPP
Who pre-ordered s.h.figuarts chewbacca and rogue one blu ray extreme death trooper set?
Only Figuarts hot toys sideshow are worth collecting did you know this?
>>6293302
Are they ever going to release him separate from the fuckhuge 40th anniversary packaging?
>>6293434
NO. Buy him when you see him.
>>6293302
I'm interested, what are the various ways it's better than every other Vader release, including prev BS releases of Vader? Also, more pics?
>>6293455
pretty sure he's being single carded released in June, along with the Jawa and Sand People
>>6293302
Mine also had a messed up ankle. The right one. How did you glue it up?
>Attend comic convention
>every toy vender is stacked with Darth Revan figures
>not a single one of them is charging less that 40 for it
How do we stop scalping for good?
>>6293476
He is not, actually. That's been retracted.
>>6293477
Put some Elmer's glue in the joint, using a toothpick (break it so it leaves a thin sliver of wood) that you can then slide enough glue in there to freeze up (but not completely lock it) the joint.
I also did a little boiling water heat up and squuuueeeeeeeezing the fuck outta that ankle to make sure it tightened up a bit.
Picked up a PotF Boba Fett today and now I want to get some more of the line
Also got the Super, legs are a bendy mess but goddamn it I fucking love how beautiful the SBDs are
>>6293494
Over-saturate the market?
Get your own supply and sell below/at cost?
>>6293541
Hey I unironically love POTF and POTJ. I go to that very Boba at a flea market a long time ago for like 75 cents. Still have him sitting at my desk.
>>6293555
I like about half of them. The POTF2 C3P0 is my favorite version of him throughout the decades.
>>6293416
The Specialist Death Trooper is honestly gorgeous.
>>6293416
>Who pre-ordered s.h.figuarts [...] blu ray extreme death trooper set?
Did you?
>>6293580
I still love how shiny he is.
>>6293580
That is objectively the best C-3PO figure ever. I have no idea why almost none of them afterward have been shiny metallic like that, it's fucking ridiculous that the Black Series versions aren't.
>>6293553
Yes, you try that when he's packed with 5 toys that inexplicably shelfwarm so hard the aisles catch fire.
So now we have the best 6" Vader, what's the best 3.75"?
Sculpt, paint, articulation, and a cloth cape. I want the absolute best.
>>6293926
I have the Vintage Collection VC93 Vader.
Pretty much the 3.75 inch equivalent of the new one.
>>6293926
Black Series had a couple great Vaders. This one's probably the best, even if it is the ROTS armor.
>>6293511
Source for that?
And please don't say Galactic Hunter.
>>6293455
He was stated for a box release I believe. Never on a TVC card.
>>6292558
Very nice. Might try and do one if in a year's time it ends up looking like we won't get AOTC figures.
>>6293803
Vac Metal is very dangerous to produce and harms the environment- Hasbro can't do that for this reason. Or so they say.
>>6293926
I believe it's this:
http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/content/modules.php?name=JReviews&rop=showcontent&id=1900
Can be taken down piece by piece and has the best articulation with ball jointed hips and shoulders.
I expect he'll be rereleased in the TVC line when it returns- perhaps retooled for his different appearances.
>>6293950
>And please don't say Galactic Hunter.
Jeditemple. And Galactichunter. Because fuck you, they know more than you do.
>>6293954
Jedi Temple Archives didn't retract their statement.
http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/content/modules.php?name=JReviews&rop=showcontent&id=2883
Sorry I can't believe Galactic Hunter.
>>6293962
>Sorry I can't believe Galactic Hunter.
Sorry you're going not get Vader, then. Because the $40 set is the only way you will be able to get it this year and next. But hey, when you come crying and whining about it in this thread later on, I'll be sure tell you I told you so.
>>6293974
Jedi Business is reporting the same:
http://jedibusiness.com/NewsDetails?id=516
- Every new 6" figure released in vintage packaging will be released in the basic Black Series line (Vader legacy pack, Death Squad Commander, Jawa etc...)
>>6293981
Except not the Vader. But you'll suffer your stupidity soon enough.
I watched the Force Awakens today.
It made me want to dig out my Kylo Ren and take some photos. He's one of the few non-OT, non-prequel figures I own.
Wish I had the starkiller base version but I couldn't justify paying twice as much.
£9.99 was a pretty good deal I think.
Last pic I kinda messed up on. Red light coming from nowhere and Vader's not-melted head in a snowy forest. Oh well, I had fun taking it anyways.
When are we going to get some episode 3 clones that aren't commanders?
>>6294078
when are we gonna get 6 inch arc troopers?
>>6294242
this. I want me some 6 inch arc troopers. 6 inch Rex would be nice, too.
>>6293943
Confirmed
>>6294281
Rex and Fives is all I need.
I kind of wish the light sabers were brighter
>>6294281
Rex was said to be coming years ago same with Grievous. What's taking so long?
I have a £20 Amazon voucher I won, What should I spend it on?
>Not 5poa.
>>6293472
Here's mine. It's disgusting how much better this figure is than the old one. The first Black Series is like a shitty cosplayer.
The Mafex Rogue One Vader looks like it'll be the best one yet. Does it even come with a lit saber?
>>6295000
they look pretty much identical aside from the helmet.
>>6295266
Better check those eyes, son.
Changing the design just enough to where they can resell new products while significantly save costs by reusing 90% of the old assets.
>>6295310
ok, the black cloth things around his chest pad go over his armor plating. what else is different? lack of chain on the new one?
>>6295360
What else is different?
On his arms, well the arms themselves are a new sculpt, same with his gloves.
On his chest, well the chest box is different, the chest/shoulder armour is new. Shoulders are done in a very different way between the two figures.
The control boxes on the sides of his belt are different. You can't really see in the photo but his legs are new as well.
The cape is new as well, made of a different fabric.
So overall, they've possibly reused his crotch plate, and inner robe.
Not much different.
>>6295354
What's the difference?
>check taghobby
>1/12 Grievous
>ITSTIME.jpg
>make a collage and everything
>look at the price
>4500 yen
>no mention of Figuarts
>my face when
>>6295423
the "frown"
Bandai model kit Grievous. Fucking finally.
Fuck yes.
fuck it
>>6295000
It does make the first BS release look like some derpy shit. how does this compare with the shf??
>>6295586
The SHF was always weird and not really good. I'll take the new BS over it any day.
>>6295586
From a guy who owns Mafex, SHF and the new BS Vader.
Despite what master yoda will tell you, size definitely matters.
SHF is too small and skinny. Mafex is tall but his head is too small and he's too skinny. The new BS Vader is thicc in all the right places and has a good height and his head/face is normal sized.
>>6295598
It's the 40th anniversary Vader, he's currently only available in the "legacy pack" which includes a bonus backdrop piece.
>>6295602
alright, thanks anon.
>>6295602
This will prevent me from ever wanting this Vader.
$40 for the inclusion of something I will never use or care about just to get the Vader figure is not something I'm willing to do.
>>6295608
He's guaranteed to get a single release so just be patient.
I'll still wait to see reviews on the new Mafex before I pull any triggers on a new Vader.
Problem with the Rogue One Mafex is that he has skinny little arms just like the previous Mafex.
>>6295392
alright I get it, anon. it has some minor differences only noticeable up close.
>>6293948
That one's great, it's my main Vader. Too bad the head loves to pop off it's beg like it's nobody's business.
>>6295583
what do you mean fuck it? arn't you happy? why is no one discussing this? is this real the bandai model kit.
>>6295610
Is he, though?
>>6295659
He's not, you're better off grabbing it now and not sitting on the wayside with the people that'll be waiting and waiting and waiting.
>>6295665
>>6295671
Oh I forgot that Star Wars collectors are inept at this idea about how Hasbro works.
Most of the figures have been re-released so far in different packaging one way or another. Nothing is ever exclusive including minor tick tacks from the SDCC.
You can pay for the shitty up front now with a useless stand or listen to morons that think they wont re-release a cash cow like Vader.
>>6295678
Yeah, I love looking up at my shelf and seeing my standard release Boba standing next to Han Solo in carbonite.
Oh wait..
>>6295679
Boba Fett wasn't an exclusive the carbonite is.
You clearly missed my point. Every years SDCC figure has always had a single release outside the add ons.
I should just buy a bunch of Vaders so I can sell them to idiots like you a year later for five times the price.
>>6295602
I've heard a bunch of conflicting reports about whether or not he'll be available separately, wish we had a direct answer from Hasbro or something to clear the air on this.
>>6295694
Better safe than sorry.
The backdrop piece is nice to have anyways. Yeah it's a little cheap but it looks good on the shelf and makes for a nice way to display your collection.
>>6295694
Why would they outright tell consumers that a cheaper option will be available in the near future? That just decreases sales of the more expensive one, which they probably make far more profit off of considering that stand is probably 50 cents worth of materials and they're charging an extra 20 bones for it
>>6295602
but... it's not even a piece of scenario or something... it's looks like vader is standing in space while getting shot by an x-wing...
>>6295722
Use your imagination. He could be standing on the bridge of his super star destroyer in front of a window with a view of a dog fight in space as the death star looms in the distance.
>>6295583
I've never bought a bandai figure before, but I need Grievous.
How good are the bandai figures? I mostly collect Marvel legends and have a few black series star wars ones.
>>6295754
That's a bandai model kit anon.
You have to build them yourself, which includes applying decals and/or painting/weathering them if you want them to look half decent.
>>6295755
People suggesting model kits as a replacement for an action figure is a meme
Even something as simple as a stormtrooper can be a chore that requires quite a bit of finessing and extra tools.
>>6295678
It's cute watching you flail in your own bullshit. You're clearly new to collecting because you'd know better if you'd been buying from Hasbro for more than a couple years. Idiot.
Oh look, the 'model kit meme' shitposter is back.
Model kits are perfectly fine, buy whatever you want, ignore all shitposters.
>>6295682
>outside the add ons.
There are no add-ons. Carbonite Han was promised to us years ago and they never delivered. Every other SDCC figure only had special packaging.
>>6295763
>dat no-neck
What the fuck is going on with that?
>>6295794
It's not hard.
>>6295771
this
>>6295789
Combination of the shoulder pads and torso armor straps being too high. Removing the hinges from the shoulder pads, hollowing them out, and gluing them directly to the shoulders helps a bit
>tfw found the 40th Anniversary Darth Vader and want him bad but can't justify spending $45 at FUCKING GAMESTOP on one figure and a shitty backdrop stand I might not even use
>>6295770
Okay, alright its people like you that overly spend 40-100 dollars on a figure that's going to be re-released down the line in a special package or just a regular release that's going to be repackaged down the line.
Look I'm not going to write the rocket science on this toy game. You can follow it like a blind sheep and pick it up now I'm not stopping you.
>>6295773
The SDCC set is nothing more for a market for exclusive add ons. The carbonite is nothing special other than it being a fucking prop.
>>6295818
>Removing the hinges from the shoulder pads, hollowing them out, and gluing them directly to the shoulders helps a bit
Thanks for reminding me why I never got into the model kits.
Mafex, Black Series and Figuarts do just fine for me.
>>6295850
>The carbonite is nothing special other than it being a fucking prop.
It's an essential piece for anyone who wants an Empire Strikes Back display worth a damn.
>>6295541
It's thinner at the corners?
>>6295868
So are a lot of the extra prop items in each of the SDCC sets so far.
You are still getting the figure and if you wanted that prop so badly you would've justify the price in the beginning.
I bet someone out there buys the Vader set not for the Vader but for the shitty backdrop that comes with it.
Just opened my Vader, the backdrop actually does come in useful!
>>6295873
There are like ten 6" vaders to choose from.
Find me another han solo in carbonite that isn't some knock off/recast.
>>6295875
I wouldn't call the Jabba's bong or the talking table with hologram Leia essential.
>if you wanted that prop so badly you would've justify the price in the beginning.
I don't live in the US so it's very difficult to get hold of any exclusives. Also I never bothered with black series Boba Fett, his articulation isn't good enough and the paint scheme is too bright. Han in carbonite should have been released separately or bundled with Jabba the hutt.
>>6295859
It's not for everyone, I can certainly understand not wanting to go through the trouble. I find it fun though
>>6295896
I like the idea of having a super detailed figure with individual parts for everything but in reality I'd probably just get frustrated with the finished product, providing I could actually find the time to build the thing in the first place.
>>6295889
I agree to an extent but "essential" to someones collection.
>>6295904
I still remember when people were panicking about Fett being an exclusive till he was announced for the first wave.
I almost wish Vader was this years SDCC set so I could see people having this mass paranoid hysteria.
>>6295907
I worded that wrong as I'm on my phone thanks to auto correct. I actually meant nothing is ever exclusive "minus" the tick tacks from SDCC which meant props and such.
Got it at walmart for 40 bucks. Should I keep it in the box and wait for it to go up in price and sell it later or just open it. (I really want to open it)
Is this gonna be a six inch?
>>6295949
Yes. You can see him on the Vader legacy pack box art.
>>6295954
Fuck yeah. The more Imperials, the better. My army grows. As long as he's not a fucking Walmart exclusive or something.
>>6295354
You say it like Star Wars has ever not done that and this is some new thing
>>6295714
Because people collecting the retro anniversary cardbacks wouldn't be able to get that anywhere else
You underestimate how many MISB collectors there are who care about that kind of thing
>>6295354
They changed the duck bill to have a more aggressive "gritted teeth" vent like the original helmets? I like it, honestly.
>>6295899
>individual parts for everything
This isn't even true most of the time, lots of sticker use
>>6295939
> Stormtooper re-release
> It probably won't come 8 to a case
I really want to army build them but I doubt I even see one...
>>6295996
>Because people collecting the retro anniversary cardbacks wouldn't be able to get that anywhere else
>You underestimate how many MISB collectors there are who care about that kind of thing
They do that ALL the time. Why don't you look at the SDCC exclusive Death Star set with vintage cardback Salacious Crumb and MSE droid. Now come and tell me they care about what MISB collectors feel.
should i buy it?
>>6296164
fuck. poster of this here. just saw this and came so hard that i instantly bought it.
Will SHF do an ANH Leia? I've been holding off from the BS one in hopes.
>>6296240
The BS is only $20, just get it to hold you over. The newer one is still terrible, but it's the best you'll get for a while in the 1/12 scale. Or get the Hot Toy for the best Leia ever made.
I just picked up the 40th Anniversary black series Darth Vader. Do I open it? I am not a CIB collector, but the packaging is so fucking nice. I'm going to feel so fucking guilty ripping it apart.
>>6295818
so far this is the only model kit i've seen here with the decals properly placed, nice job
>>6296240
If they do, you'll be getting solid plastic robes that will be shit in both look and articulation.
Might as well get the Black Series.
Personally, I'll hold out for a ESB or ROTJ Leia.
>>6296161
I think you misread my post, friend
I'm not saying they're gonna release the Vintage Anniversary Cardback edition without the box, just the figure itself in a regular Black Series box.
I'm saying that if they say they'll make the figure a regular release down the line that doesn't change whether or not people will buy this overpriced release, because there are still collectors that will do it for the cardback
>>6296274
Open it. Did you buy it for some cheap cardboard or a plastic Vader figure?
>>6295949
>we get this dork but no Death Star gunner
lame.
>>6296164
Buy the Sandtrooper kit instead. More options and it fixes the neck issue people had with the original.
hey, I'm really really new to the hobby.
could you guys point me in the direction of any nice darth maul figures?
thank you
>>6296409
Figuarts.
>>6295818
What exactly did you do to the shoulder pads? I'm pretty tolerant of the no neck look of my Stormtrooper, but that pic looks excellent
>>6295602
>20 extra dollars literally just cardboard
what the fuck
>>6296412
Darth Maul figures that aren't $120
All this talk of there being no boxed release of the 40th anniversary Vader made me cave in and order it. From DST. I hope I didn't get memed.
$44 shipped isn't bad, though, specially when local retailers are asking €65 minus shipping for it.
>>6296429
Remove the entire hinge system, as in: remove the little black piece from inside the shoulder pad, trim out the plastic from inside shoulder pad that housed that black piece, cut off the black connection point from the shoulder, and you might have to trim some of shoulder itself.
Then you glue the shoulder pad onto the shoulder in such a way that you still get good outward range and bicep swivel
>>6296439
Bootleg BS.
>>6296439
6 inch knockoff Black Series or the 3.75 inch Vintage Collection one is the best you'll get if you're looking for something reasonably price.
Well that wasn't too hard
Shouldn't take pics at night
>>6296370
You don't understand what the 40th Anniversary line is, do you?
>>6296550
Now I have to buy two of them...
>>6296432
It comes with four plastic stands with pegs that fit Black Series and vintage figures. And don't kid yourself, a single pack Vader would be scalped to Hell and back and you'd get nothing for that extra $20.
>>6296441
It's a great figure, you won't feel bad once you get him in hand.
>>6296725
This. At least you can have a nice setup on your shelf.
>>6296441
http://www.galactichunter.com/gh/story/qa-40th-anniversary-star-wars-fun-toy-fair-and-originals
1. Is the 40th Anniversary 6 inch Darth Vader ONLY available with the Early Bird kit or will he be available seperately? I want one to open and one to keep carded but do not want to purchase 2 of the early bird sets.
>Yup. At this time the line is only two waves and a boxed set - and Vader's only in that set. For those who don't know, the boxed Early Bird set stand includes Darth Vader on a matching Vintage cardback. So if you want a set of 12 carded figures, you'll need to violate that set.
I interpret this to mean the figure might come out in the black series box, but it's definitely not coming on the vintage card outside of that collector's edition. If I were you I'd keep it sealed until the boxed wave comes through. If distribution sucks you'll have one to open, if you can get both open the BS box.
>>6296861
There's not going to be a boxed wave though.
I am (or rather, was) a member of an EU/Legends group on Facebook and tried to engage them on how pointless it was to steal the Fan's Choice vote every year by ballot-stuffing EU characters. How a toy poll isn't going to affect Disney's position, how all they're doing is pissing off fellow fans, etc. In case you didn't know, this year they're pushing Luke Skywalker's shitty Gary Stu son Ben as their choice.
It didn't go well. I got told that it's a "fan" poll, not a "collector" poll, and just because I'm actually a Hasbro customer, that doesn't mean my opinion matters more than some random yahoo with a hateboner for Disney. They kept bringing up the popularity of Revan and saying Jaina and Ben will sell just as well without considering that Revan is a cool-looking Sith Lord from a video game millions of people enjoyed, while the Skywalker kids are generic looking humans from a series of poorly written books most fans have never read. I got told that Ben is a thousand times more desirable to the collector than Yak Face or the Tonnikas because he was the hero of two whole series of books (he was? They must have really been shitting those things out toward the end). Of course none of them knew the significance of Yak Face or the Tonnikas.
The best part was during the course of the conversation, I sarcastically said that because I own some TFA merchandise, I should just unfollow the page and go slit my wrists since I'm not a TROO FAN according to them, and one of the fucking autists actually put me on suicide watch with Facebook.
So basically, fuck Ben Skywalker, fuck the Expanded Universe, and fuck the people who are still clinging to that shit. No matter how bad Disney gets they will never introduce a character so edgy his actual name is "Jagged."
>>6296887
EU is trash, good on you for finally seeing that.
>>6296274
Loli Jyn with Stormtrooper doll fucking when.
>>6296887
I'm still like parts of the old EU/Legends continuity as well as the new Disney canon, which isn't perfect either. There's room for both I think, and any sensible fan should learn to cherry pick what they like.
Regarding the polls I'm more annoyed these guys aren't pushing for more iconic Legends characters like Mara Jade, Jan Ors or Kyle Katarn. They're certainly more interesting (design-wise) than a generic female like Jaina.
What does the 6" ANH Leia look like under the robe? Is it all skin-tone plastic, a white leotard torso, etc.?
Need to know for science.
>>6296890
>EU is trash
That's a pretty broad statement considering it covers several decades worth of tv, books, comics and video games.
Granted, not all of it was great but I'll always remember the Tales of the Jedi comics, Matthew Stover books, and Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars cartoon fondly. Dark Horse was also pumping out some great stuff during the waning days of their Star Wars license (Dark Times, KotOR).
>>6296923
I would love a Kyle Katarn figure. Desann would be amazing too. Too bad The Dark Forces series gets no love. I'd settle for Dash Render from Shadows of the Empire too.
>>6296147
Thanks!
>>6296963
It's well known the new Disney regime hates Dash Rendar.
>>6296972
All the more reason to push him. Dash rules.
>>6296973
He's basically a low-rent Han Solo with no discernible personality of his own (and I say this as someone who like the game/book).
His armor is cool though.
>>6296990
He's better than Han. And Leebo rules.
>>6296861
Yeah, that's definitely what he's saying. That's only if you want to every single 40th Anniversary figure and intend to keep then unopened.
>>6296887
you know, I don't care for Star Wars but would legit buy a good Black Series figure of Plo Koon. I don't think it'd ever happen though.
>>6296923
>Kyle Katarn

fyi the 40th anni figs are at Walgreens. I managed to snag Han there today. Feels good being able to get a figure for retail price while scalpers are trying to charge double price.
>>6297162
They're apparently fucking everywhere; Target, Gamestop, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, even fucking Best Buy had them
Finally got Bossk.
Kinda disappointed overall. His feet are very loose, his jaw doesn't stay closed properly and they messed up the paint on one of his eyes.
Not a big deal since he's just there to fill out my bounty hunter collection but I'm pretty nitpicky about paint apps. We need a black series 4-LOM and Dengar.
Missed the mark.

The packaging looks really good actually.
The Vader set was £45- cheapest I've seen in the UK. Vader looks great.

So do we have a timetable for the new Black Series figs to be released?
I know there's an exclusive Thrawn at Comic Con, so the regular release will follow soon, right?
>>6297372
UK release I think.
Now: 40th Anniversary Wave 1
May: Regular Wave: Lando/Tusken Raider/ Qui-Gon /
*(Krennic/ Chirrut/ Baze)
Forbidden planet says 22nd May and has Hera available but no ERG?
June: *Revan wave- Revan/Sabine/ shit Leia (maybe corrected for
this release)/ At At driver/ Snowtrooper.
*we're getting this because it wasn't released at Christmas.
and
40th Anniversary Wave 2- Chewie/ Death Squad Commander/ Tusken Raider/ Jawa/ Stormtrooper/C - 3PO
And then that's it till Force Friday on 1st September with TFA Luke.
>>6297372

Jaina maybe Autumn. The rest I have no idea.

x-wing Luke only had one initial release in the first wave of BS, so yeah, he's a bit more on the rarer side.
>>6297454
I should sell it. When they first came out I was gonna start a collection of them in box. I gave up after the first figure.
Can't wait for the inevitable S.H.Figuarts Luke Skywalker (X-Wing Pilot) and R5-D4 figures!
Bye bye Hasblow for me it's figufarts the kino of toys
>>6293225
Got this Vader from Kotobukiya (bounty hunters diorama) 5 years ago.
Good figure.
>>6297529

The new BS Vader sure does make my attempt to fix the Mafex look like a bad cosplay costume.

Just got Old Obi Wan for $16. It's okay for the price, but I can't get the hood right.
Can anyone tell me what Im missing other than the toys from wave 4? Btw are those in store yet?
>>6298108
How rare is Bodhi? Is it worth store hunting or should I just order him online?
I also forgot to mention Im only collecting the Rogue One toys.
>>6298064
Okay, I fucking hate this figure. It's impossible to get the blade back in the lightsaber.
Have any 40th anniversary figures made its way onto overseas shelves yet?
>>6298064
The original robe is shit.
I ordered a custom made one from eBay, it looks way better. Kinda pricey for what it is though.
>>6298108

>just mountains of the same figures
They don't even stand out as individual toys anymore, they're just there and I hate them.

I'm sorry mate but I don't think you're going to get any help here; you're the only fucker that's ever posted about those here.

Koto's vinyl figures are pretty solid and the painting is usually ok, with 1-2 acessories and thematic bases. For the price/size/quality, it's fair. However, this version of Vader was a pain in the ass to find: the separated Vader's parts in each bounty hunter was a mistake.
I bought him only because the seller completed it before.

Why would anyone buy this when the legacy pack just came out and is only £5 more.
>>6294034
I like design things about Kylo.
Just got 40th Vader on eBay for a comfy $42. I don't have many BS at all, but I needed a Vader. Is he really as good as...well, everyone says he is?
So where's that poll we're supposed to vote today?

That's a strange coincidence but it wasn't me. Murica here. Plus I did in fact get the legacy pack.

Is it hard to get now or something? I remember all that shit not selling for tits.
Found Arc Trooper Commander ie. Captain Fordo on eBay for £14.50 + £3.50 postage, it arrived today.
It's a great figure, love the accessories. Near perfection- the only problem with it is the guns have bent a little and his hands are a little tight.
Will post pictures later.
>>6299894
Forgot the question I wanted to ask.
Recommend me some other figures to go with him?

>that Force Awakens Rey on a Vintage style cardback
Just disgusting. Talk about blasphemy.
>>6300948
How is that anymore blasphemous than the many other non-OT characters that have seen TVC releases?
Which Vader is this?
>>6300977
>>6300951
Because Disney bullshit is ruining Star Wars.
And on top of that, Force Awakens just sucks total ass.
>>6301016
Maybe, but Attack of the Clones was a pretty shit movie too and it still had characters in the Vintage line.
>>6301021
Attack of the Clones is actually a Star Wars movie.
>>6301022
So is The Force Awakens. The prequel trilogy was unnecessary and pretty shit and the sequel trilogy is unnecessary and shaping up to be pretty shit, but they're both still Star Wars.
>>6301022
Trying to say Phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones are somehow better than TFA is a contrarian /tv/ meme and you know it. TFA is at least slightly above average like Revenge of the Sith was, those two movies were well below average.
>>6301030
>So is The Force Awakens.
Hahaha, no. No it's not. You can take that little lie and get the hell out of here.
>>6301031
>TFA is at least slightly above average
Oh fuck you, that is just the most bullshit I've heard all night.
There is nothing salvageable out of TFA. It's a copy and paste shitfest.
>>6301033
>No it's not.
How is it not?
>>6301038
It's a terrible JJ Abrams movie. It's not Star Wars.
>>6301043
>aesthetic direction is pretty Star Wars-y
>cast is pretty Star Wars-y
>story and plot are Star Wars-y
It's derivative and not particularly good but it's still Star Wars. It's not "your" Star Wars, but you'll have to get over it. The prequels aren't "my" Star Wars either. But I accept that more than the OT exists. Unfortunately.
>>6301016
Kill yourself.
>>6301053
It LOOKS like Star Wars, just like how JJ Star Trek LOOKS like Star Trek. Beyond aesthetics and having the original cast, though, TFA is just a shameless remake of A New Hope that brought nothing new to the table and banks entirely on nostalgia. At least the prequels gave us a bunch of new lore, characters, planets, etc, not to mention games like Battlefront 2 and KOTOR.
>>6300979
looks like a bloody turd
>>6301132
Well uhh actually umm the Asian dude that did all the concept art for the prequels do the concept art for the new crap too and they even used some Macquarie concept art too so yeah how could it not look like Star Wars?
>>6301128
Swallow a razor blade dildo.
>>6301132
>that brought nothing new to the table
Kylo Ren is pretty new. I agree it's a derivative mess of a movie, but it's still Star Wars.
>>6301173
It's just Anakin again. It's not new at all. TFA is like, the furthest from Star Wars possible.
>>6301180
>It's just Anakin again.
Not really. His role as a villain and his role in toppling Luke's new Jedi Order are very Vader-esque, but his character and his motivations are pretty far-removed from Anakin/Vader in important ways.
>>6301189
>are very Vader-esque
So it's just Anakin again.
>>6301198
Nope. The entire crux of Kylo's character is that he's trying to be Vader but ultimately can't, because really no one can. Thematically Kylo is more about individuation in the face of legacy and the insecurities that revolve around trying to live up to expectations (internal and external). Anakin was unstable and insecure too, but he had different things driving him.
>>6301203
Yeah, you're an idiot all right.
>>6301206
By all means, anon, tell me how I'm wrong.
Mods, please nuke this thread.
>>6301203
Even Vader couldn't live up to the conceptualization everyone else had of him. It was mostly theatrics and being a member of Palpatine's inner circle. All his potential was wiped away the second he got BTFO on Mustafar. He was just a cripple in a life support suit with an above average attunement to the force. If Kylo would learn to swing a sword properly, he'd already have surpassed him.
>>6301225
You are cancer.
When Carrie Fisher died I was kind of sure that SHF/Mafex gonna cash in and reveal that Leia is in the work.
Damn was I wrong. It is kinda jarring to have shelf of the original trilogy protags, but have butterface Black series Leia.
Realistically are we ever gonna see import figure of Leia, or are the import companies still have that "girl have cooties" mentality?
>>6301317
SHF can't make a Leia. Her New Hope outfit is all robes and they're complete shit at robes.
>>6301317
I think a better is question is how do they handle it? She wore the dress/robes in ANH and Bandai doesn't go for soft goods. They could do flexible rubber, but you can barely pose with that. They could do segmented plastic but I think we all know that'd look pretty awful...
>>6301342
>how do they handle it?
Skip ANH and just go to ESB or ROTJ,
Least ROTJ can fit in with one Luke, maybe Han and Chewie. (Not sure if Han had any major costume changes of his basic looking outfit between the 2 movies)
Shit for the people who want a ANH team, unless Bandai just use a really good fabric which works better in smaller scale than that canvas scrap stuff Hasbro seem to use.
>>6301374
Hoth Ep V Leia is obviously the most practical and neutral Leia of them all. I personally think also the best look for Carrie by far, rather than the meme double bun or steel bikini
>>6294078
>asks a question while posting answer
are you retarded son, only cody and now gree are commanders
>>6301398
I was thinking more Endor Speeder Bike costume as then you have costumes matching the end part of the movie.
I hope they don't do the metal bikini one as that's a terrible design which I'm sure nerds just force themselves into believing it looks good.
>>6301180
how can your argument simultaneously be that it's just doing the same stuff as the old movies but also that it's not star-wars-y
it's one or the other my guy
>>6301446
maybe he thinks knock offs are always supposed to be unrelated but trying hard to imitate a popular work? Thinking about it that way, bootleg shit shouldn't be part of the series, you know>?
Or that because George Lucas didn't write it, that means it's unrelated?
There's lots of reasons why Force Awakens is so lame that people dont want to consider it part of the Star Wars franchise.
>>6301514
>There's lots of reasons why Force Awakens is so lame that people dont want to consider it part of the Star Wars franchise.
The same is true for the prequels and most of the side material. But it's still Star Wars.
>>6301541
The prequels were by George Lucas and the side stuff like the comics and books have always been treated as non-canon.
Plus, despite most people shitting on how bad the story was for the prequels, people still liked the designs and characters that came from George Lucas.
See how a lot of people openly hate the nuStormtroopers, whereas the clone troopers are grudgingly, if not positively, liked.
>>6301553
>The prequels were by George Lucas
They still mostly suck.
>>6301556
The only good thing about the prequels is what others have made out of it, be it through the EU now legends, or shitposters on /tv/ making Palpatine a meme.
I think is the best looking Vader to date, at least in this scale.

New images of the next TBS Wave.
Ponda Baba, Sandtrooper, Prototype Boba Fett and Tusken Raider.

>>6302150
it really was a shitty movie. i'm amused by all the people who are throwing heaps of praises on it as if it were deep. i don't even have a problem with a movie being predictable, it just really had nothing to offer. Rogue One was easier to sit through. The good thing is that it saves me a bunch of money because I don't feel the need to buy figures from those two movies, except for maybe black series Chirrut.

The Force Awakens might not be great but its fucking gold compared to episode I and II. I'll admit III had some good aspects to it, though.
See? You can actually be objective and not be loyal to directors or companies like a fucking retard.
>>6302227
>fucking gold compared to ep I and II
>TFA a literal copy of I and IV
You can be objective and not be blind too anon. TFA for all intents and purposes is a wankfest trying to replicate Star Wars (ANH) almost exactly.
>>6302244
Episode 7 is just as much of a ripoff of Episode 4 as Episode 1 was
Which is to say it wasn't at all but there were parallels because Star Wars is all about parallels
>>6302254

I'll start the thread when the time comes.
>>6302450
Well you're wrong, then.
>>6302196
Glad I preordered this. Now I gotta back track and get a Han.
Picked up Leia and Ben, the pickings are getting slim on carded figures at my local TRUs. Haven't seen R2 or Han on the shelves (already have the older Han anyway) but there seems to be plenty of Legacy Pack Vaders to go around.
I'm wondering if there's gonna be issues with the Kenner blister packs, they've only been on the shelves for a few days, mine have corners lifting up off the card, or cracking on the bottom.
>>6302661
Alright, she doesn't look too bad.
Now I wait to see if mafex's famous QC issues plague her or if she goes along the lines of Boba Fett in quality.

The Fans Choice poll is up:
http://www.starwars.com/news/vote-now-for-the-next-3-75-inch-star-wars-vintage-collection-figure
Ben Skywalker isn't included thank god.
Your options are:
-Doctor Aphra
-Yak Face
-Arc Trooper Fives
-Sim Aloo
-ROTJ Emperor
-Ahsoka Rebels
No idea who Aphra even is, from some nu Canon comic.
Ahsoka would likely get a figure anyway so I'm in no rush for her.
Sim Aloo is the best choice but Yak Face has at least some chance of winning.
Go Vote.
>>6303001
Liking TFA is a meme, because it would take a loser like you to actually enjoy that retold vomit.
Maybe you just like Jaws here as your strong female protagonist.
>>6303600
Fives being pictured in the Red fatigues rather than his ARC Trooper armour. Hasbro clearly don't want that one to win.
>>6303635
I've never understood why they do this- it's clear which version we want.
Same with Mara Jade a few years ago.
>>6303638
Aphra winning. That'll result in so many salty fans that would want Yak Face or Sim Aloo to win.
>>6303651
It already is.
At least they can take solace that Ben Skywalker isn't winning.
Is this character even that popular? I don't read the comics and just know she's Vader's Sidekick or something.
Insane she's getting a TVC figure before much better choices.
>>6302448
Episode 1 was very much a flat out remake of Episode 4, it was just less blatant than Episode 7.
Stand in Luke for Anakin, Padme for Leia, Quigon as Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan as Han Solo, Jar Jar as Chewbacca, the Trade Fedation as the imperials, swap the Tatooine bit to the front fo the film and it's basically the same film.
>>6303663
Why do you think some of the choices are better for you don't even know anything about the character you daft cunt?
>>6304202
Never really thouught about it but damn BS Chewie is way out of scale.

>>6304397
I actually prefer these colors.
Anyone know where I can get Romba (vintage) aside from ebay?
>>6303663
She's probably the biggest character to emerge from the canon comics, and overall may very well be the most significant character without a film or television appearance.
I can't say I know too much about the odds of book and/or comic characters getting a figure and how those chances translate into her being a smart fans'-choice option, but to me she feels like a good nominee on the basis of her prominence.
>>6303600
Hm. I don't want any of these actually.
>>6304202
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Manletbacca.
Can someone recommend me a good Vader figure based on the Rebels/Mcquarrie design?
>>6303663
