I found some transformers at an op shop but can't figure out how to fully transform them. I asked how to find out what version they are so I can find a proper picture or instructions on how to do it and someone in the last thread asked for pictures.

First is optimus with something wrong, I think his fists are blocking the transformation all the way but can't figure out how to get them out of the way

Got Lg astrotrain. And the more play with it the more TR Sentinel Prime is lacking.

Thinking about doing some spray can job on the grey parts.

Depends.

Most Transformers are held together by screws and pins. Screws are piss easy, but pins need a pin pusher to remove. Looking at My Sentinel, Most of him is held together with screws, but his wingpack is on two riveted pins. I've never removed those, so I can't tell you how.

Actually, there is an anon here who did a comic accurate paint job. He'll probably share some tricks.

Plastic pop-joints are easily disassembled but some may require heating

Screws are no issue

Pins you need some practice to learn how to knock them out.

Rivets are problematic.. you may need to destroy the hole to remove them.

Some older figures are glued at the seams and require you to crack them open.

Stylistically, CW Cyke and TR Scourge look best with Voyager Galvatron.

Your only other options are Universe Cyclonus and Generations Scourge, but those are a different take. I think those two display better with Universe Galvatron (although that Galvatron is terrible).

I'd still go with CHUG Cyclonus. Try to get the one from the box sets. It is more purple.

As for Scourge, TR version is pretty close to G1. Get the takara version if you can as the Hasbro version is just too blue.
CHUG Scourge is also good. Not G1 accurate, but a nice modern update.

Drift really is a great mold, I only wish mine was a brighter white than what it's become over time. Did they ever do a Deadlock repaint for a convention or the club or whatever? Try soaking him in peroxide, I've heard that's good for re-whitening plastic. Although maybe see if you can find a junker to try it on.

I got a pair of the Dr Wu ancient swords for him and then carved out just a little bit in his hip panels so he can sheath a full side sword on each side. Now I wish I had him with me instead of in storage at my parents'.

Also ball-jointed wrists are the shit. If every fold out wrist used a ball joint to do it the world would be a better place.

Sentinel Prime. Don't care of the mold was meant fot Astrotrain all along, Sentinel is definitely the better looking figure if you ask me. The colors on him just pop great, and his silhouette screams authority and attention. I guess maybe this might not count to you since he cane first, but we all know this mold was meant for Astrotrain, yet I think Sentinel uses the mold better.

While I will admit there is a surprising about of detail and extra paint on this mold, I can't say I enjoy it very much. In tank mode you can see how poorly some of the shades match up, and the mold is so clearly and distinctly Hardhead, that it kind of ruins it for me as any other character.

I suppose if the biggest complain that I have is that the original mold was too accurate, then Hasbro did something right here.

I can buy 2 get 1 free for TF stuff this month. Wave 1 and 2 stuff are still on shelves, waves 3 and 4 should be trickling out.

Getting Bumblebee, Gnaw, and either Chase/Brawn or another Gnaw, and getting loadsa titan masters...

But what are the best deluxes out so far? I've yet to buy any.

As someone else as said, it's still pretty Astrotrain, but the reason I feel it works better with Sentinel is because, well I feel it's hard to explain. I think it just looks better as a corrupt Prime whose plan is to make Cybertron great again, as opposed to being the body of really just a Decepticon grunt.

Maybe the other Anon was right that the colors could have been better, but Astrotrain still feels pretty bland to me in terms of that creamy white, and I'm not too crazy on grey either. The orange just really pops for me.

I would say the new Blitzwing mold is pretty good for a triple changer.
The tank mold and the jet both are good. The only problem I have with that mold is the Johnny Bravo body shape.

For Broadsides, the proportion is good. Though it is a head shorter than Astrotrain. But it is thick width wise.

General speaking, the sticker shit has to go.
They are a mess on figures being how crappy they are.
I can't wait for repol label showing their sheets for the latest voyagers for broadsides.

Honestly, Broadside looks good in carrier and 'bot mode. His jet is the sacrificed mode. I'm fine with that.

Astro looks good in jet and 'bot mode, his train is the weakest.

Megs/Blitzwing looks alright in all 3 modes, but I think the tank might be the weakest to me. The barrel is just kind of stumpy. Maybe Blitzwing will have a better barrel?

And the Octane/Optimus mold, the jet is the obviously sacrificed mode.

Springer only escapes the issue because neither of his modes were ever anything realistic. He was always "space car" and "space helicopter", so he didn't have to try too hard to look like some specific vehicle.

I found KOs of the Decepticon Firecons.

a dollar each and the plastic quality isn't shit and I tink they're all colored like the originals. They even have the working sparking mechanism.

There was also a large bus transformer that was around voyager size for the same price and came with diecast parts. It's called Distortion Bus. It feels rather solid and all together it ran me under 5 dollars.

Still though everything seems like good quality.

The Predaking project is still or was active during TR at least according to someone who leaked details of TR Optimus and Megatron.

Honestly, Predaking would be pretty easy to pull off with the CW engineering. You'd start with one base, blocky limb-bot, and just slap animal legs on it and you'd have 3/5th's of the team. You'd need one slimmer one for a bird to cover Divebomb, and then a Voyager for Razorclaw.

You could probably then retool those animalbots into the other leftover combiners that used monsters.

App games generate more sales because all of them are freemium bullshit that makes those with big pockets dish out INSANE amounts of money for nothing. You had people paying like 500$ in the FIST WEEK of Earth Wars to get that one character they wanted with good stats.

That person alone spent more money that goes straight to Hasbro pockets with ZERO effort from Hasbro, than they will spend on all of their toys for that year.

That's what they want. The people in charge literally want instant gratification, they want to put out a product, make bajillion of money INSTANTLY, then shut it down, make a new product with the same result and repeat.

That's why they don't actually put money to make good games anymore, or good cartoons, or fuck good movies or good toys. Because they don't understand that a healthy franchise will bring in a LOT more cash in the long run (look at Marvel the biggest phenomenon on Earth right now) and instead of trying to build Transformers as a good franchise rather than a franchise of shitty movies only dudebros like,they only focus on short term gains via freemium bullshit apps.

I never really realized it at the time because CW Devy was my first modern tf purchase, but CW Longhaul really is not a Voyager class.

He's pretty generously a leader class, albeit a pretty short one in robot mode.

I hope that eventual predaking is about as big as Devastator. I know people didn't like how much bigger Devy was but 5 leader Predacons would be awesome.
