For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

Secret Santa
It's that time of year again. Just look at the form and fill it out. Signups last until December 1st, pairs go out in the days after that.

A few things:
-Use an active email, I don't want to be hounding you and then have to repair someone.
-Use your full address, I don't know every damn city and zip code in the US.
A new option, Cards Only. If you pick this you're assumed to be willing to ship international (it's a card after all). It doesn't have to be a handmade card, just something nice. Of course handmade is nicest, but not everyone has the skills for it.

Out of morbid curiosity I visited the imgur link

After coming across that post, I came to understand why most here dislike/despise /r/gunpla.
gonna post a few pictures of my ji dao i recently finished painting. Its a pretty nice kit but has some fitting problems.
>>6029304
Also converted the dynamic saw into an right arm for it
>>6029296
its shit like pic related that I'm leery of customizing my builds
>>6029309
compared to an older kit like zephyr, its a bit short
>>6029313
the companion kit kotobukiya released uses large blasters with the legs as arms. the hands could probably work but the palms look pretty big from the promo pics.
I don't even like Wing outside of Altro but this shit looks like its going to be dank.
>>6029320
last one
>>6029321
I was sold on that at first but then I realized that the large blank sections of the wing (mainly the legs) are broken up into a bunch of nice multi-color sections.

Solid.
Wait here a damn minute
Is that just the 1/100 NG Justice with Freedom 2.0s shield and gun? This omission of a MG Justice is getting ridiculous
My second ever gunpla, not hugely happy with it as I had trouble getting rid of the sprue-marks and I haven't top-coated it because of that.
But I do love the way this suit looks!
Trying to get my visors to really pop like pic related, any one know what kind of foil is applied here? also would painting the inner area of the head behind the visor silver improve the effect at all?
>>6029543
Not seeing anything wrong with it, looks good friend. The Jesta Cannon is a pretty solid and sexy designed suit.
This thing looks like The NT-1 Alex, a MkII, a Jegan, and the Nu gundam got mashed together. Kinda cool looking, but ... I dunno.
>>6029610
yeah this looks like shit, looks like a kit made from some sketchbook
>>6029267
when are you gonna actually clean the fucking nubs on your zgoks?
I want to do a long line display of main gundams from the all gundam HG project, but I can't decide which suits for which shows. Do I do the first version or the upgrades?
>>6029610
It has a 90 degree arm bend. Look at it, it's using the ancient style of arms back when the Alex was a thing, this is unbelievable.
>>6029715
I think doing the first versions will look more consistent
>>6029251
>dat sexy back
but the RG Zaku is great
>>6029480
justice a shit
>>6029606
Looks like a reuse of the old as fuck mold of the Zaku III, so it's either P-bandai, never released, or bandai is getting lazy.
>>6029566
That's the stuff I have linked below behind the visor, I think it's called aurora film or something similar. And you can paint either the back of the visor silver (my Build Shaldoll) or the plate behind it (Jesta Cannon).

It's like I was binge drinking cocktails, threw up, and used the resulting mess to paint a Gundam.
>>6029925
From the thumbnail, it reminded me of Baldios. From the picture, well, it did look like a lot of alcohol was involved.
>>6029480
after looking at the 1/100 ng justice gundam side by side ,it seems to me that is a mg justice gundam.
Found out they actually had a prototype for the MG Nightingale. Though my pet would be this thing would cost nearly as much as an early perfect grade.

as i said that's not even an mg.
it may be a prototype but not of an mg.
its just the re1/100 nightingale prototype.
dunno why its shown there buts its not a mg.

>>6029218

i also compared it side by side and their both identical.
also think logically why would bandai show a "prototype" mg next to a laid down sumo and grunt from zeta (sorry forgot the name of the ms)
just look at the thrusters and compare these two pics.
>>6030066
fucking hell
its just a prototype
it doesnt matter if we get more info or not
because we already have the final product.
>>6030069
that's my point?

>>6030075

>>6030074
>it doesnt matter if we get more info or not

my point is we already have the product which IS the re1/100 nightingale
>>6030075
>Are you really so dense, or are you trollin?
how am i dense or trolling for that matter, a guy(or gal) showed of an old prototype of the nigtingale and said it could be a mg and i replied no it couldnt a mg beacause it looks identical to the re1/100.
>>6030059
Proportions are shit. Parts are loose which I already fixed and the build process just wasn't any fun for me. I only pulled through cause I like char suits.
As for the decals I only used the stickers that came along with the kit. If you ordered water slides after its wet set it on top and dry with a q tip while pressing down. If you mess up just wet it again.
You can get rid of shitty parts of the decal too by cutting it with your hobby knife. Top coat blends the stickers/decals down the surface to an extent too.
>>6030059
I forgot to mention you have to cut some of the stickers. The surfaces they're supposed to be placed on is too small so you have to trim them down first or they end up looking like this.
>>6030087
>proportions are shit
you crazy, compared to most suits zakus are the reeses of mobile suit designs
there's no wrong way to proportion a zaku
>>6030087
While RG Zaku II isn't my favorite RG, I still think it's an impressive piece of work. However, the skirt and leg design that hinders articulation and pops off easily is pretty crappy. The top half of the finished product is outstanding though.
Occasional Gunpla builder here, happened upon that new IBO custom grunt on Dalong and damn, that thing is nice.
>>6029794
is that actually 6mm by 110mm? that seems like kinda small of a sheet
>>6030003
From what i know it's an unveiled prototype mg in 2010 for the gunpla world expo that got cancelled in favor of re 100
>>6030056
Found out about first when going through MG page in the others tab on the gundam wiki, tried to search it and it lead me to gunjap and that's where picture came from.

>>6030263
The GM rarely gets killed by other grunts, compared to Zeon suits anyway. They only get killed in droves by WMDs like the Big Zam and Solar Ray. In fact, I'm pretty sure GMs have more kills on screen than Zeon MS
>frame arms girl announcement
>it's fucking nothing

Yeah It's usually ace pilots and said large weapons that kill the GM in large numbers.
>>6030262
>not P-Bandai
This is too good to be true, him and White Dingo GM sniper being regular releases is awesome
>>6030295
Indeed. The original Ver 2.0 MG GM is still one of my favorite kits ever. And this thing basically being the AEUG upgrade of the same kit rocks.

>>6030311
MG Aegis is pretty interesting and fun because of the mobile armor mode. Then there's always the Ball or Guntank.
>>6030295
Theres a chance that the A.E.U.G is standard and all the other versions of it is P-bandai
>>6030311
if you're luck with the fucking retarded choices they made with the arms, the MG V2 is uniquely engineered.
the MG Turn A is fun if you haven't done that yet.
>>6030295
I'm just being wishful but back then Bandai used to release variants at the same time like when they released the Zaku Mobility johnny and shin custom at the same time in the early late 90s.

>>6030392
Finished up barbatos lupus this weekend. Painting the fingertips white ended up being much easier than i thought. Why is it that so many of the painted builds put up on gunpla news sites have nice add ons like rivets/metal pipes/extra paneling but they skimp out on minor stuff like this?
>>6030339
If it was real i hope theyd put in silly shit like spring loaded weapons. The mg acguy was a pleasant surprise when i found out its claw used a spring
>>6030256
Just make this already Bandai
ther RG Sinanju is really impressive, I love how shiny it is
>>6030400
Maybe because it looks dumb. Nice build though, did you paint up the sword mace?
>>6030413
I just gave it a gunmetal finish like the inner frame. I was debating on whether or not to add some gold and silver to the frame as well. Decided not too since it would make it look too busy at 1/144 scale.
>>6030142
What is the 2.0 that you're referring to? There was a 2nd green Zaku II RG that they did? Honestly I started building because most of the ones I really like don't get a robot damashii, so if you tell me the RG isn't worth building, I might sell mine off and just buy a rd Zaku II.
>>6030407
trim your nubs
>>6030419
Hes talking about the mg 2.0 zaku. Its an older but beloved kit.
Waiting for Sayla's Gm to get a kit. Might never happen.
>>6030418
It looks real cool, the angle of the photo makes give the edge a shinier look.
>>6030435
Thanks man, funny thing is the whole kit was given a flatcoat but my desk lamp brings out the white sheen in the plastic.
>>6030422
oh ok, thanks anon
>>6029706

>>6029331
The hips are pretty rigid and they even used a new set of hip joints on the archetype. I just wish the head wasn't so small in comparison to the rest of the body.
Does anyone have experience ordering from samsmodelkits? The prices are relatively cheap but the gunpla selection is pretty limited. Might get decals from them but it's not clear if the decal stock is up to date.
>>6030087
>get sinanju stein
>see the fucking size of the watersldies
fuck that
>>6030570
it's not that bad. Well engineered kit great articulation. Really benefits from panel lining though
HG Geirail Scharfrichter looks unlikely and certain for P-Bandai if it does happen
>>6030618
might as well make some Mining custom Gunpla.
So I just build the M.C Models Earth Guardian EX. Since theres very little info on the kit quality itself, I thought i'd do a quick rundown.
Plastic quality & colour separation are decent for a chinese kit. The nub placement is ridiculously bad, especially on the transparent parts ( all the nubs are on the clearly visible portions of the pieces when they could've been easily hidden on the side that's covered by adjacent pieces ). Tiny pieces have the sprue connecting the entire side of the piece forcing you to basically resculpt them to the correct shape.
The parts fit is pretty terrible in a lot of places all over the kit requiring a lot of trial & error filing & filling things so they sit correctly, the worst of which is the horn on the head sitting 3mm to the left of the center due to a really shitty peg design (in fact nothing on the head fits correctly making the whole thing look lop sided like the mecha has downs syndrome )
the hexagon shield pieces fit terribly requiring a lot of sanding and after assembling the shields several pieces fell off by themselves because the ball joints attaching them together snapped at the tiny pegs due to the weight ( this is another big problem, using stupidly tiny pieces to hold large sections together )
This is the first kit in a few years ive prepped & assembled then decided against painting because of the huge amount of work required to actually fix the kit so things dont fall apart when you look at it funny.
On the positive side, the weapons are great, but i think I'm going to use them on my MG astray blue frame instead.
TL/DR It may look nice in pics but in reality its not worth buying.
Any ideas on how to spruce pic related up a bit? Preferably some additional missiles or a medium-sized rifle and arm/wrist-mounted weapons so I could ditch the overcompensation cannon. A ReZel Defenser-A would have been perfect but I don't think that has a kit in 1/144.
Also, how kitbashable is it with the rather dopey-looking HG of the ZII?
>>6030700
You could have some additional missiles or a medium-sized rifle and arm/wrist-mounted weapons, then ditch the overcompensation cannon.
Tallgeese a shit.
Thunder thighs though.
>>6030691
older M.C Models kits up to tallgeeses is pretty bad

wait im retarded
i mean older dragon momoko up to tallgeeses is pretty bad. their Strikes is alright.
as for MC models, their Nu and Hi-nu hold up well, the SD like EX-S is pretty bad, even the lights is not working
what are the best looking IBO kits out there? I was about to buy Barbie form 7 but I find it lackluster

Finally finished the chest on this guy, still not sure if I want to add much to the calves, did one nice curved line on the head but not sure how much more to add. Getting there but lots left to do.
>>6031255
Seriously, there's no way that thing would be able to even support itself. A quarter of it has been eaten away by oxidation.
>>6031302
yeah also tallgeese flies around in space not the Louisiana shore
>>6031320
eggs-fuckin-zactly.
Does anyone know what's up with MaxFactory's Bushman? It was supposed to release at the end of October.
Has it been delayed until December, or might it drop at any moment?
Thanks in advance for any legit info, made-up rumors, or chicken-bone scrying anyone might offer.
what's the consensus on Max Factory's "Dougram" kits? I like Dougram but have never tried out MF's model kits. I have basic HG building experience, just simple stuff like removing nubs and seam lines. I don't paint, I only panel line.
>>6030841
Kimaris Trooper, Astaroth are my fav from the IBO line.

>>6031320
Did the Tallgeese really get more flight time in space though? I havent watched Wing is decades, but I dont really remember it being used in space much.
I was planning on space dusting it, but now that you mentioned it, i really cant remember it being a mainly space suit.
>>6031571
Tallgeese was mostly used on Earth and occasionally underwater, until Zechs decided to become an ambassador to the colonies and fought mobile dolls there. He finally sacrificed it to capture the Wing Zero.
Tallgeese II was only ever used in space.
Tallgeese III was used in space, then on the surface, but didn't get much time either way.
too bad the shield is just too heavy for the RG Sinanju to even consider attaching it
>>6031432
What kit is that on the right with the pink shield?
>>6031592
I would build a GM in Wolverines colors. Filthy Zeekfederates!
Am I missing something, is there some magical reason that Zoids kits are Games Workshop-tier in pricing?
>>6031632
I thought the Stargazer would look awful, but that kit seems rather nice.
>>6031679
Probably licensing fees
>>6031670
That's the HG Gastima.
Does anybody know if Gundam models count as "collectibles" at Barnes and Noble? They're doing 25% off collectible for Black Friday and I'm wondering if that's a good chance to grab the RG Sinanju
>>6031699
They're under "hobbies and collectables" on the website.
Is that black friday deal only in stores?
>>6031708
it doesn't say online only, so it's probably not. If you're a Barnes and Noble member you also get 30% off one item coupon, so 25% off list price, then 30% off that reduced price, then the standard 10% off that for being a member.
Dang, I might spring for a Master Grade
>>6031679
Stargazer is pretty neat
MG never sadly
>>6031632
Sand that shit down fuck.
>>6031679
>Am I missing something, is there some magical reason that Zoids kits are Games Workshop-tier in pricing?
If you mean the original tomy kits, its because they've been out of production for many years.
If you mean the Kotobukiya HMM line, its because Kotobukiya have been charging more & more for kits in the last few years & the kits have been getting smaller & smaller. Its not just licensed kits, but all their kits. They're steadily pricing themselves out of the market.
>>6031723
Isn't there some sort of hard limit to B&N's coupons?
>>6031776
That's really a shame, my brother got a motorized Liger Zero kit for Christmas back when Zoids was on Toonami, and I shredded my fingers building it. Still was pretty awesome though.
>be in australia
>want to get RX-78-2 beam rifle water gun
>'muh imitation firearm'
This country is fucking pathetic.
>>6031803
But anon, its in my local hobby store in Adelaide South Australia for $26 :^/
>>6031807
The full size one? All the Asian sdollar stores have toy guns too.
It's fucking retarded that an individual has to get a license to import OBVIOUS FUCKING TOY GUNS here in hipster SJW faggot cuck land, eg Victoria.
>>6031820
Thats pretty cool that they sell those there. Burgerland barnes and nobles dont have that, they just shove the gunpla onto a small out of the way shelf. I always see kits knocked over on the floor when i pass by it.
So I've been dipping my toes into plamo for the last year or so - started with some non-Gundam Bandai kits like the Yokai Watch and Dragon Ball ones, moved on to HGs, and I'd like to try a RG kit. Are there any glaring issues with the RG Qan[T] that I should know about?
>>6031820
Don't you guys get monkey model nerf guns too?
>>6031552
>I don't see you flinging shit into the thread
fixed
I don't have any kits worth posting, yet
Anyone built the Medabots Kotobukiya kits? Are they snap or do I need glue?
>>6031776
I can't speak for all zoid kits but I have the HMM command wolf and liger zero panzer and their prices are completely in line with MG gundams.
>>6031838
My brother has the one that looks like a revolver and the one that looks like a SAW so I don't think so.
>>6031432
yep anon, absolutely nothing wrong with them. I just finished building the Gastima yesterday too. What a fucking cool design. I get it, why Gundam fans might strongly dislike it but I actually love just how full blown 90's Capcom that show's mechs are (Akiman, the guy who designed classic Street Fighter characters, Final Fight etc did the G-Self, Ippei Gyoubu did most of the others). Can you post more of the purple one? I'm considering either grabbing that or the Dahack or the one the girl piloted with the rifle.
Rather than dumping like a dozen pics I made a collage instead. I have a bunch of pics of the scifi stuff too (Mostly star wars and Star Trek) along with a bunch of Dinosaurs that I didn't include.
>>6031860
Sorry, part of the post got cut off. Meant to mention this is from the local small show I went to on Saturday. Thought you guys would be interested in the mech/robot stuff.
>>6031860
Astray lookin thing bottom second from left looks solid. I hate the R-Gya-Gya but it's well made.
>>6031258
Maybe some offset/vertical lines on the "wraparound"?
>>6031355
I haven't been paying attention, But I should bother looking myself. The Bushman seems nice, and I really want that minimum factory Minmay.
>>6031360
They're nice. Not much paint needed for just details, color separation's good. Pretty much HG-level construction, but some connections can be a bit tight, mostly at the polycaps.
>>6031847
those are two of the earlier releases, shit hadnt really started to ramp up in price yet.
the last release retailed at ¥14,800 ( roughly the price of 4 average MG kits ) and the latest release is ¥29,800 ( roughly the same retail price as buying 7 average MG kits )
>>6031592
Nuts to that. I'd paint mine up as the General Lee.
>>6031882
They're also fucking gigantic though. PG sized.

death stinger isnt that big at all for a kit that costs ¥14,800. Nowhere near PG sized.
Sure Gojoulas the Ogre is huge, but you could buy 3 PG kits off Mandarake for the same price.
>>6031901
When will they do a Death Saurer or that gigantic Brontosaurus Zoid?
What the hell happened to HMMs anyways, seemed like a few years ago they were putting out a new one every few months, now it feels like its been years since they released anything new.
>>6031910
Im surprised they havent released a death saurer since its just a recoloured geno breaker without all the extra armor & weapons. It would be super easy to make one from the HMM geno breaker kit.
Ultrasaurus however would probably end up retailing for around 50,000 yen judging by the scale difference with gojoulas. As much as it would be amazing, I doubt many people would be crazy enough to buy one.
Koto have pretty much been concentrating on the FAG line over everything else since its the best selling line they've had in years.
>>6031910
Frame Arm Girls happened. The massive success of Gourai proved that there was a market to be exploited, and they've pushed out releases at a pretty fast pace, and they're not simply variants. Also they've been developing HexaGear, since not having to pay licensing fees is probably pretty good for profits.
>>6031950
They should make ZAGs.
They really need a HMM konig wolf though.
>>6031950
This is a Death Saurer, it's much larger than a Geno Breaker and looks very different.
>>6031959
forgot image
Also, in the animes the zoids themselves are much larger, like the Ultrasaurus it's fucking huge in the animated series, but the kit Tomy released was in scale with the other Zoid kits they did. Same goes for the Death Saurer.
>>6031959
Huh. I always thought it was the same mould underneath as geno breaker on the tomy kits. I guess not.
>>6031860
Those are some really good models. I too like that white Astray. Reminds me of the Transient.
So after building >>6030691 and feeling pretty burnt out, I decided to build a kit I knew would be enjoyable so I started the MG Chars Zaku 2.0. Super impressed with how nice it is in comparison.
Does anyone know if theres a third party LED set for the monoeye?
Only thing ive seen is the old bandai Hy2m head set but thats designed for the old MG 1.0
>>6031779
I did something similar before. RG 00 Raiser was on clearance for 75% off. I used a 20% coupon and my membership on it
>>6031969
You're thinking of the Genosaurer. The Deathsaurer was one of the kits in the original line, paired up against the Madthunder. When Zoids was brought back in the 90's the Genosaurer was one of the first newly designed kits released, paired up with the BladeLiger (which was built over the frame of the original ShieldLiger). Both the Genosaurer and Genobreaker were actually pretty shitty, and wobbled more than they actually walked in addition to having planned details like the tail bellows cut to lower production costs.
Going to convert the GM III into a GM III Striker/Melee unit, any recommendations to kitbash it with? besides the obvious GM Striker.
>>6032085
Yeah I realised now i was getting mixed up with genosaurer. I have both tomy genosaurer & genobreaker, never managed to get deathsaurer and now its really expensive even in japan (but nowhere near as expensive as madthunder is). I agree genobreaker & saurer are kinda shitty though, i hate the cheap silver bendy plastic tomy used for the huge claws on genobreaker & neither move very well compared to later tomy kits.
>>6031952
>they've pushed out releases at a pretty fast pace, and they're not simply variants
the reason for that is they dont really have to do much new tooling since they just repurpose the frame arms moulds for most of the armor with only slight modifications at most.
From a business sense I'm not surprised they have gone all out on FAG's, less development cost & time for much higher profit due to demand.
Im just kinda sad its massively slowed down or stopped a lot of their other lines as a result.
This model is disgusting. I'm throwing up right now from how horrible it looks.
BLEARGHH
>>6032132
Why would you buy a model of a robot you don't like? It's not like Tallgeese is heralded as the peak of the MG line either, even hardcore wingfags admit it's a subpar kit.
>>6032137
Anon
He's joking.
>>6032102
the GM wagtail parts.
>>6032132
where is its other hand anon you're upsetting me
Finally completed. I can once and for all wash my hands of this affront to mecha design.
>>6032196
Couldnt decide if I wanted it to hold the beam sabers or not.
anyone else interested in the MG ver ka decal campaign? seems strange bandai do a special decal set exclusively for kits that already include waterslides.
>>6032213
I'd really rather they bring back waterslides for RGs. Fuck these microscopic stickers with so much excess film it ruins the look.
>>6032220
its definitely a Japan thing. Notice how almost no one over there enters RG's in competitions?
Questions for the more experienced, I just opened my RG which I bought several months ago. Store I buy it from is good with customer service and even checks each part before making the sale. I just started building it and am happy with the kit.
I looked up an online video and this person got a green platform/base thing for his Zaku II RG.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StdJMjoHez8
Was this a first-batch bonus or did I miss out on a part???
Store I buy from is actually nice enough to call me and refund me $10 when the price for the Koto EVA 01 kit dropped due to currency rates changing right when I made the purchase... so I doubt they sold me a defective one, if I am missing a part, I'm sure they'll be happy to work something out.
>>6032239
Pretty sure mine did not come with one either.
What a cluster
>>6032278
What did you kitbash that together from? Almost looks like a Command Gundam or that green SD from build fighters on the right shoulder.
>>6032278
>those eyes
gundam scurred
Anything else I should get as someone who is just starting out? Wanna get to cart to $50-ish for the free shipping.
Oh, and which works better for lining, the pens or the liquid stuff?
>>6032340
Ditch the pens. Buy these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01871I5HS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3A81VMXI8TWXS&coliid=I2ELJW98CNCYEC.
and these https://www.amazon.com/Squadron-Products-Value-Sanding-Stick/dp/B000CDR5K8/ref=pd_sim_21_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000CDR5K8&pd_rd_r=0JEBEJ7T9ZTH97C94XXA&pd_rd_w=fyRHk&pd_rd_wg=jBNjv&psc=1&refRID=0JEBEJ7T9ZTH97C94XXA
That should be $50 or so. and you're good to go.
>>6031773

>>6031860
>along with a bunch of Dinosaurs that I didn't include.
I'd like to see them, if it isn't too much trouble.
>tfw you circumcise your gouf
Not sure if I want to take the front/back spikes off too.
>>6032367
I'll make another compilation later tonight.
So the MG psycho zaku reuses the 2.0 zaku frame.
The best inner frame MG of 2016, will have decade old parts....
>>6032424
Good thing the 2.0 Zaku frame is absolutely amazing. Even most modern MGs don't have a frame as good as the 2.0s
>>6032429
>absolutely amazing
The limbs are good, not the torso, articulation is shit
>>6032444
Articulation isn't the be all and end all of model kits.
The frame is wonderfully detailed.
>>6032344
>recommending enamel based washes
>not asking if the guy paints
enamel wash = bare plastic destroyer
>>6032259
alright thanks. That's weird, I really hadn't heard of it before, and he's the only guy on youtube I see who has it and he didn't make a big deal out of it either, so I wasn't sure if it was a timed exclusive etc. Thanks anon.
>>6032453
This meme need to die. While enamel thinner will damage plastic, this does take a while. Normally, damage only occures if it seeps into some crack or is otherwise unable to evaporate. If you're using an enamel based wash and cleaning it with a q-tip, it shouldn't damage the model
>>6032444
The only way to articulate MS type torsos is to space the parts out, which looks terrible.
>>6032479
I'd agree with you. I love my IBO kits but even next to the GReco and HGUC ones sometimes they feel a bit... airy to look at.
>>6032447
>sandpaper and Popsicle sticks
Seems like a good idea until you try it. Well, they didn't work great for me at least. I wanted something with a little more cushion and flexibility. That's why I switched to sanding sponges, and sanding sticks with a little padding like those.
>>6032461
>dude is just starting
>he's definitely going to do everything right the first time
>>6032491
Sandpaper + stick are for flat surfaces. If the backing is soft (your thumb included) you may get a curved surface after some sanding.
>>6032496
I get the concept. It just wasn't what I was looking for.
>>6032424
A Zaku II has a Zaku II inner frame? Color me outraged.
>>6032284
Its not a kitbash.
>>6032550
I'll stick to my Zeta SD I think.
>>6032444
i don't think the Psycho Zaku will need Torso Articulation.
>providence is getting a MG kit
>before Justice
INjustice
>>6032624
justice a shit
>>6032628
I will fuck you with a rusty rake
>>6032633
infinite justice is so much better that its predecessor will only have that RG for the end of times as the only decent kit
get ready for destiny and strike freedom 2.0 first
>>6032634
IJ can't stand on it's backpack so its shit.
>>6032624
if you look at the justice in this picture you can see it shares parts from the mg freedom.
and im not talking about the gun and shield
the thigh armor is the same as freedoms and the proportions are similar if not the same as the mg remastered freedom and not the no grade
>>6032624
>>6032653
here's both the ng justice and mg infinite justice for comparison.
also the whole arm uses mg rm freedoms parts except the sholders
>>6032653
>even the display has beamspam
>>6032223
that's because RGs are annoying as FUCK to paint
The parts are easily separated for different colors, both at that size the tolerances that paint adds really fucks things up. Additionally because there are often MGs of the suits nips want to paint, there are no reasons to choose RG for competition.
>>6032340
get the 2175ET over the 410 if you are going xuron
i think im going full mad man
>>6032708
such a meme suit tbqdesu
>>6032712
what does this even mean?
>>6032728
He thinks it's overrated.
>>6032728
it's just such a goofy offshoot designed even more than usual to give bandai another toy to sell
it was ANOTHER secret test suit shown in a silly side animation thing which means we're talking high levels of memeitude
then they gave it wings which increases memeness by like 30% and then made the entire thing gold which really ups memeocity by around 60%
>>6032742
>secret test suit
Is there anything that makes you roll your eyes more than this in the gundam franchise
>>6032735
so he couldn't write that without buzzwords? this place just gets worse.
>>6032695
im not saying i want one
but we might get one
i'd rather have na mg reborns gundam or xi which is very unlikely
>>6032747
Depends on the suit. Titans stuff makes a bit of sense in Advance of Zeta with all the Project Paperclip style shenanigans going on with Zeek engineers, scientists and captured tech. That and the Hazel is awesome.
anons who are familiar with old SD sets, can you help me?
I'm looking to get the SD Gundam Knight from when I remembered it as a kid. This one checks out, except the one I had back then actually had a SD die-cast human figure that you put the Gundam as an armor on it. It is almost this exact design though, down to the centaur alt mode. Can you point me in the right direction?
And thanks for the help.
>>6032772
>the Hazel is awesome
I still think its insanely cool they named some suits after characters in Watership Down. If ever there were two franchises I never thought would cross paths, GundamXWatership has to be in the running.
>>6032781
http://www.geocities.jp/lifezoids/GUNDAM-GC.htm
>>6031011
It's the best wing kit out there. Only issues I can think of are bicep connections being a simple plug-in with a male connector that's too short, so the arms falls out sometimes if you move it too fast. Ankle armor can slide out of place, but since it's ankle armor, it'll just rattle and not actually get lost.
Seriously though, you need a tallgeese. It's one of the most fun MGs I've ever built.
>>6031375
AGE, G Reco, 00, Turn A all had bitching designs.
>>6032852
>it comes with a deployment truck
Fucking neat.

Holy fuck. These things are awesome. Where do I throw my money?
Sleggar was Command Gundam the whole time!
>>6032914
Wait, so does that mean Command gundams weakness is Big Zam?
>>6032914
I lucked out and got these three for fairly cheap (less than 20 bucks each) but trying to actively find some, I see a lot going for 5000jpy plus.
Eg one time I saw the Tri Stars and Char Zaku for 7000jpy each. Do I look like I'm made of money? kekek
>>6032959
Is that the Musha Mk2 on the bottom?
First winter in this hobby, do any major sites do black friday/cyber monday shit domestic or overseas? About when do oversea sites like HLJ have winter sales?
So.. can priming only be done with an airbrush or spray can?
I want to participate in /m/'s group build but it'll be in the middle of winter when it's too cold to do any painting outside
My only option now is to try hand painting it, but.. can primer be applied with a brush?
>>6032999
Pretty much. To my knowledge there is no actually good handbrushable primer as they can't adhere to the plastic any stronger than handbrushable paint can.
PG Tallgeese when?
>>6032747
Go fuck yourself snobbo.
>>6032747
so the original gundam?
>>6032861
Cheers anon, I'm pretty sure someone's bought it for me already
>>6033003
Well shit, fuck me I guess. Thanks anon.
How do people who hand paint do it then? Do they spray primer, and then hand paint?
Or do they just not use primer, or something?
>>6032350
Top of the gun behind the scope.
I know there are a couple more from his previous pictures like on the forearm.
>>6032999
If I HAD to handpaint something, I would handbrush thinned Mr. Surfacer 1000. and then sand it smooth, but this would only work on easily sandable surfaces, you're still boned on something with lots of recessed details.
>>6033084
How thinned? what would be your thinner-surfacer ratio?
I'll be painting an HG Graze. Am I boned?
>>6033090
you might be boned on the frame, but I would do it on the major armor pieces which are pretty flat and easy to sand.
I would probably go 1:1 so it's thin enough to spread but not so thin you have nothing to sand through.
Seriously I wouldn't suggest this if you had any other way to do it, it's going to be a lot of work and you have to be really careful.
>>6033096
Yeah I'm pretty hesitant about it too since I don't have much experience with painting yet, especially hand painting which I have absolutely no experience in, but 30 to 40 degrees F is too cold for spraying outside, isn't it?
I was thinking of maybe just opening up the window in my room, sticking the piece out and spraying it real quick, then quickly bringing it back into the warmth of my room. But that sounds too stupid to actually work.
>>6033105
Or so stupid It. Just. Might. Work.
Probably just stupid though. You'd still have fumes as the paint dried too, not the best thing ever.
>>6033105
I'd go for it, heat your cans in warm (not hot) water before you go out to keep the pressure up. I used tamiya primer cans on my balcony last winter while I was working on blending some styrene pieces and it was fine. I never really have the problems with temperature and humidity that some people seem to, but I don't use cans often either.
>>6033118
Man, I forgot about the fumes.
What if I did it in the kitchen, then just stayed out of the kitchen for half the day while leaving the fan on and windows open. Think that'd be enough to deal with the fumes? Or would I just be giving the whole family cancer?
>>6033124
Thanks for the tip about the water. If it worked well enough for you, hopefully I can have similar results.
Looks like the frame arms machine gun fits pretty well with the HGUC Zaku I. I wasn't planning on displaying them together, but now I'm tempted to.
Also yes I know the machine gun looks bad, it was just a fast build to see if they fit. I will properly sand all nubs, prime and paint it in due time, as well as panel line and touch up the Zaku itself.

Bet its because P-Bandai Legend will be a thing.
Apparently the pilot has a thing for Wilfred.

that thing looks like a gemstone took a shit
Just ordered the SD Nu Gundam, and Revive RX-78-2. Am I cool now?
>>6033238
That sexy bit of skin between the stockings and skirt. Wilfred better hit that like the Burning Gundam using Jigged Hash.
Am I the only one who wants re/100 or possibly even MG G-unit suits?
>>6033362
G-Unit? Like 50 Cent?
>>6033423
No. G-unit as in the Geminass, Greipe, Hydra, and Aesculapius from the Wing side story
>>6033430
Oh. I'd be down for a 50 Cent led SD Gundam force. I suppose more Wing stuff would be fine as well. Provided we get a new Leo HG/MG/PG/RE100.
>>6033430
There's still a dozen suits from the actual show that have no kits available. The 20 year old 1/144 dont even get reprints when stuff from the 80s does.

Do I just sit here and cry?
