Angled Technic connectors would work for a stable spine midsection. The spine wouldn't be able to flex or bend, but you can always add towballs to either end of it for hip movement and ab crunch.

Cool sketch btw.

>Why not try one of the monthly challenges in the OP?
I have in the past and sometimes contribute suggestions. In fact, the last challenge in the OP is one that I suggested (although people were probably going to build scenes like that anyway). They don't normally spark my imagination, most of the time.

>>6024204
>Yet still despite having a decently sized collection, still generally don't have the parts I want.
Yes! This! I find that when I think of building something funny/neat/comfy/what-have-you, my mind immediately goes to the parts/colors I don't have rather than the ones that I do have.

>>6024262
>What could help is to start a bigger project. Start off by thinking out what you would like to build. Sketch out a design on paper of what you would like and start figuring out bit by bit, like small challenges, how to interpret all the details in legobricks.
Okay, with you so far...
>Then prototype parts out with your collection without bothering with a coherent colourscheme. Then look up what parts exist in what colours and whatnot. Then maybe even try to work out the thing in LDD or something.
>These are all good suggestions, but I don't think I'm the "project management" type of builder. I'm more of an intuitive builder who sort-of kludges their way through something. Nothing against builders who do it this way, but it sort of kills the spontaneity of Lego building for me. Though having some kind of game plan in mind probably would do wonders for me.

Thanks for the feedback! You are all bad enough dudes to rescue the President!

>>
>>6024901
Probably the wisest choice indeed. The details on this set tho, I can never get enough of that roof or that first floor apartment with the folding bed.
The size of Assembly worries me a bit since it's larger than the usual baseplates, I hope it'll fit on my shelf.

There is no doubt that the details are great, even the little knife mount in the kitchen and the fridge, or the white details on roof, its a nice looking set, but, the brick bank is my personal favorite, and the detectives office is such a great play set, and a detective is a great and rare addition from lego (i also like the story behind it all)

My living room is small enough as it is, I can't pile sets up forever. Besides I don't care much about them once they're built.

Cool that they're including another of those orange crates, I still need to order a few parts to make another one for my tank (and in the future I might try fitting a third on). What I'm really excited for are the Imperial battle packs and the Y-wing, I don't have any plain stormies with the new print.

Because $15ish is a lot to spend on a single guy, even if it's something I really REALLY want. I mean, if I got those four, it'd be at least $50 or $60, and I don't have much expendable income at this time (due to losing my cushy decent job and having to make subs for near-minimum wage to get by) and Pokémon Moon being the designated buy for the near future.

Short story long... yeah, there is a reason.

>>6025500
So that makes a blue one, a yellow one, a black one, and a light-grey one. Nice.

I'm also missing the Festive one, R4-P44 from the ARC-170, and the bright red one from Anakin's Starfighter/Non-Imperial V-Wing.

I like astromechs, can you tell?

Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) has a Lego store. Its bigger than the one in Miami. Legoland Florida has several shops in it, but yea, you do need to buy a ticket. Kinda. You can buy a shopping pass. It is the price of a single day ticket, but they will refund you the price if you return to the front in about a hour. They will also refund your parking if you spend over $20. So I've been told. If you know anyone with an annual pass to Legoland they get 10% off. Just be aware Legoland Florida is closed on some Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the winter.

So I live in tiny part of the US, with little interest in LEGO aside from the collectible minifig series being constantly sold out in my local walmart. Any advice for someone who is interested in reselling?
As an example, even during black friday, my local starwars/marvel/dc/licensed or otherwise sets don't get bought. I'm mostly just looking to make a profit to buy more for myself, and increase availability for others outside my local area. I work in retail management, and it bums me out that we eventually trash these things if they don't sell. I'm not looking to scalp or do other heinous shit; I'm just hoping I can save some bricks/minifigs from being trashed while helping myself to some of the extra, this side of theft/loss prevention fucking my shit up.

Look into http://bricklink.com/
It's a site specializing in facilitating the LEGO aftermarket. People make accounts and then they either set up online shops or purchase sets, parts, or minifigs that they want.

You should make a list of potential Black Friday leftovers and other sets that would end up "trashed", then look them up on Bricklink to see what the average selling price is. You can always look up the sets that you know will be on sale and see if they look like they are selling online. It is a slight risk to buy sets that are going to be on sale nationally because the price may drop for a while and you won't be able to sell them. I was told that minifigs are the thing to focus on when I was starting out and they weren't wrong. If you can open a set and make most of your money back selling figs then you basically are getting free bricks. If you have anything you want to know more specifically, don't be scared to ask us.

So apparently Lego Batman Movie sets are showing up. Targets seem to have them in stock and Walmart is saying that I can have in-store pick up by Monday.

Using brickseek you can search for the sku for Walmart or the DCPI for target. I've found several of these numbers and it was a slight pain, so I'm going to share what I've found.

The Joker Balloon Escape DCPI 204-00-1945
Mr. Freeze Ice Attack DCPI 204-00-1946 (SKU 54595517)
Catwoman Catcycle Chase DCPI 204-00-1947
The Riddler Riddle Racer DCPI 204-00-1948
Clayface Splat Attack DCPI 204-00-1949
The Batmobile DCPI 204-00-1950 (SKU 54595517)
The Joker Notorious Lowrider DCPI 204-00-1951 (SKU 54595519)
Killer Croc Tail-Gator DCPI 204-00-1952
The Scuttler DCPI 204-00-1953
Batcave Break-in DCPI 204-00-1954 (SKU 54595518)
Villian Vehicle DCPI 204-00-1955 (maybe Scarecrow?)

If you find any more SKUs, share them. Happy hunting.

I think they meant gluing, which I would never do. If you do that, you cant take apart the sets, which makes it harder to store or transport them during a move. Nothing against MOCs, but why would lego make sets if they weren't meant to be put together?

The passive nature of each set and the colour pallette seemed like it was intended for girls.

Cool set, I recommend it. If you don't care about the minifigs, Bricklink's got one in the US for $45, which is pretty cheap considering it has 734 pieces.
>>
>>6027097
I'm not creative enough for MOCs, but I do tend to make little changes to existing sets.

For instance, I got the Wookiee Gunship, made the back panels open up like the front ones, put mounts for the muskets in the front cargo area, made the cargo door less flat and boring, and made the rear more spacious so that it could fit 6 minifigs instead of that gun emplacement.
>>
I went into Lego Dimensions hard around February and finally managed to break the habit around the time the last wave of Year 1 launched. I finally started listening to my wallet's constant agonized screaming and realized I needed to lay off, or be overrun by a tidal wave of minifigures for eternity. Everything was going fine again.

And then I relapsed tonight. I bought the Fantastic Beasts story pack. I liked the movie, and the portal build seemed like it would be a nice display piece at least. I had fun building it and everything was going fine until I started playing and immediately ran into gold bricks requiring year 2 characters. I'm already planning on picking up the Sonic level pack and the Harry Potter team pack soon.

Please send help before this stupid game steals my soul again.

God that bucket wheel excavator is seriously growing on me.

I wanna get back in Technic after seeing the sets at my local LEGO store and i've been tempted mainly by the Porsche 911, the Mercedes truck, and this beast.

But the Mercedes's pneumatic system looks like a nightmare to assemble, and while i love the Porsche, it looks a bit bland and it got no power functions.

But the excavator got power functions(though i think it's quite limited,) and it's fucking impressive both aesthetically and technically. and to top it all, while it got over 1000 more pieces than the Porsche, it costs less than it.

Shit, i might get one for Christmas.

The three sugar skulls came from two different sites. BOTH sites print using legit lego pieces though, so to me personally, they fall in that beautiful gray area between "knockoff" and "custom".

Don't be put off by the complexity of the Arocs, the pneumatic grabber is actually pretty rewarding to build. Plus, it's one of the few sets I've seen that lets you build whole sections of it out of sequence.

I waited over a damn month for my mixels order, direct from Lego, only to get told "whoops, guess we're out of stock on those!" and for them to cancel it today.

I don't know what the hell is going on with Lego's UK distribution but it's a mess as far as mixels are concerned.

I'd suggest finding a UK store on Bricklink that sell Mixels on a good price, might save you a lot of headache.
>>

Go idea.

Between this and something like half of Lego's amazon stock suddenly developing a 1-3 month delivery wait for seemingly no reason, I think I'll just turn my attention towards Bricklink.

personal don't like fleshies, and i have way more normal minifigs than fleshies, with the exception of all of Chris Pratts figures.

Anyone know why Lego agreed to change form yellow figs to fleshies for licenced products?

The yellow star wars sets were great and me and my brother combined have every original star wars lego set up too the end of SW episode 2

Why did they change? limiting the growth of my city!
>>
>>6028189
Blame Lando Calrissian.
>>
>>6028189
Lego wanted you to have a race war between the flesh and yellow colored minifigs
>>
>>6028190
I blame him too

>>6028191
just think about all the custom figs you could make if all the faces were all in yellow or even if they started as fleshies so we didnt know any different
>>
>>6028189

I like fleshies on licensed stuff, they just look silly yellow, and yellow figures for original stuff. So I'm good.

Anybody know how I should build a backpack with extra arms like this? Doc Ock tentacle links seem to be too big.

I just found this and it's a solid idea https://ideas.lego.com/projects/157812

The rigging would need to be changed though and I'm not sure what pieces he used for the cannons.

Doors work, but because of the way minifigs are proportioned you can't fit one inside without them laying too low to see over the dashboard.

I did a little tweaking on it last night (filled in some gaps, etc.)

Pretty rough-looking, but it only took me a day to fumble it together so I consider it a win

Did they print on that minifig base?
>>
>>6028329
More importantly, is this the first time they've had a CMF base used outside of the CMF line?
>>
>>6028332

If it's possibly worth the shipping, I can send you some from the USA. It looks like a small package might cost $13.50 USD. If it makes you feel any better, we can do the transaction through bricklink.
