Old thread is dead.
Anymore crazy badass tf designs like this?
>>6023526
That RiD wave looks so great. Can't wait for them and Stormshot.
>>6023526
>crazy badass
Those Rescue Bot dinosaur/vehicle hybrids.
>>6023529
I'm hoping for an orange repaint of this blurr as homage to a g1 backstreet
>>6023526
Epyon, eat your heart out
I know everyone is sick of the discussion but here's how I see MP toys:
The animation models are not an ideal representation of these characters. There is a 20+ year history of design language and consistency that was built up before Bayformers fucked a lot of it up--the fucking robot becomes the fucking vehicle. Wheels on arms and legs. Car hoods becoming chests. The original G1 toys like Jazz and the Datsuns basically established the design language and consistency that carried forth in ALL toys throughout the early 90s to the 2000s lines. They also ironed out all the "weird" designs like G1 Megs, G1 Ironhide and weird shit like Omega Supreme.
I want toys that look like an idealized version of the G1 toys, with all the detail and everything those toys had but with modern articulation. Masterpieces sort of we're doing that for a while but then they started doing all this weird shit like
>>6023529
I'm hyped for Bludgeon and Soundwave. This line seems to have a lot of dope car bots in it.I thought it was animal themed?
>>6023591
Transforming.
>>6023536
This is the same character as Rescue Bots Blurr yeah? Sideswipe did make a cameo on there and Blurr talked about wanting a transfer to Bee's unit.
>>6023596
Probably. The continuity's a bit shaky.
I also assume that both Sideswipe and Grimlock from RiD are new bots using the names of heroes from the war since it's set well after everything. It's the only way it even make kind of sense.
>>6023596
Yeah and RB Blurr's deco on this recently released set is in blue too. Not sure if his new colors in the RB show, don't watch it.
>>6023600
It's best to take it that the "aligned continuity" wasn't a thing. RID using those characters was pretty much Hasbro Studios' "fuck you" to "The Binder".
>>6023526
Something about him says he'd make a great rival to pic-related.
Damn, RID really stepped up its game.
>>6023526
>warrior transforms into dragon jet that looks like it belongs in a top-down arcade shooter
I can't be the only person who's reminded of Dragon Spirit, can I? Only way this guy could be better is if his robot mode were knight-themed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6O5Kbs61q8
>>6023562
The animals have dope car modes as well.
>>6023604
This Prime looks so cute, and his trailer reminds me of PMOP in a big bad way. I wish I had a kid so I could buy him this.
>>6023617
The proportions of this guy remind me of a tank boss from Metal Slug or something.

>>6023663
Hasbro don't have anymore to ship out from their warehouse.
>>6023536
I'm hoping we get a purple RB show accurate deco now.
Fresh OC.
>>6023721
Autovolt, please go away.
Heading to a friends so no time to unbox and play but I wanted to share the oddity that voyager primes box claims he is a Decepticon
All the text is in the purple on the front too
>>6023721
Spot Autovolt 101
>>6023736
That's interesting. All of those "meteor" art on top of the packaging has been the Autobot insignia since they started using them in AoE, even on the decepticons.
>>6023733
I actually kind of dig this Prime. You can basically ignore the plane mode and the tanker mode is pretty solid looking. I'll probably pick it up eventually.
>>6023739
Wave one is on clearance at trus. Also some combiner wars and rids are at tk maxx
So uh
Any news on my boi Freeman?
>>6023756
Bootlegs pls levb. Blizzard will shut you down swiftly
>>6023753
Do you think they'll go on sale on Black friday? I'd pick up a few of them if they do.
>>6023759
>shut down
>anything in China
>>6023771
Haha fuck this country
>>6023771
I'm going to guess Creamcicle Prime is probably going to go on discount. I just can't see him as anything but eating up shelf space.
>>6023790
Im sad
>>6023802
I wouldn't say it's a unjustified opinion, CW was a fucking mess here.
>>6023736
Why is there a Fighter jet flying over by?
Have they done that with other releases?
>>6023813
Sorry should be clearer why is a fighter jet flying over by Prime's head in the side panel?
>>6023805
Hmm..
>>6023771
Wave one? Yes
Fort max? absolutely
CW gift sets? For sure
Wave 2 and beyond? No
>>6023805
CW had its faults, but overall it was a good line. The only real problems with it where the Motormaster/Optimus Prime mold and 2 fucking waves of Autobot repaints, both of which used 3 of the same molds. One of them should have at least been a Decepticon wave with Scourge (possibly made from Rook since he kind of looks like Scourge's space-boat), Starscream (or another seeker, maybe Acid Storm) from Air Raid and two other Decepticons from molds not used by the other Autobot wave.
>>6023192
>>6023593
Just that? What kind of loser wants something that only transforms? To be an effective toy, its head should become a little robot or maybe it can become part of a bigger robot.
>>6023593
that doesn't really cut it in these days
>>6023854
I'll be honest, I would love a combiner team of headmasters. That would be too silly to pass up. Maybe all of the headmasters have a big cockpit in the torso like a fucking Megazord.
>>6023864
Go deeper, Anon.
>a combiner
>all of the combiners are also headmasters
>their individual weapons are made up of targetmasters
>the targetmasters combine to form the combiners bigass gun/sword/whatever
>and theres a 6th Legends member that becomes a gun/sword/whatever the targetmasters don't combine into
I hope they announce the TR Box sets soon. We're already on wave 3 which means TR is already half over.
I hope wave 4 has Slapdash and Joyride so it makes Getaway getting a new figures making sense. But the Gift sets essentially double the waves in the line if they have the same make up as Combiner Wars.
>>6023875
>>6023864
>>6023733
>heroic autobot leader well known for being noble and virtuous
>actually a Decepticon
I didn't know James Roberts was in charge of the toys now too.
>>6023875
>torso also has a base mode
>combiner feet and hands turn into individual bots
>minicon activated gimmicks
>>6023854
Funny, but non jokingly, there's supposed to be a 5 decepticon combiner in season 3 of RiD which is what forces the Autobots to do their combiner force thing. No info other than it exists, but hopefully this combiner gets a real warrior class combining figure. It can get cheaper gimmicky things too, but doing so in the warrior class would be fantastic.
>>6023884
>6th member Legends figure can also serve as a big gun turret/whatever for the base mode
>>6023886
Maybe we could get a Chop Shop combiner too.
I'm honestly just jonesing for any of the RiD Insecticons.
>>6023864
>>6023875
>>6023884
You could actually made this right now:
Combiner minicon weapon: Arms Micron saber.
Non combiner targetmaster: HA basic line.
Fist members: Prime legends Bulkhead.
Feet members: CW Rook, Hound or Swindle in rollerskate mode.
Torso Base: Hotspot, Onslaught or Silverbolt fanmode.
Headmaster: easy mod for all of them.
>>6023894
If they released this guy as a single minicon that can form the torso, an arm or a leg it would be great, granted it would be buying the same toy five times with five heads but it would be bold if Hasbro did that madness.
>>6023907
I would buy 5 immediately. Hell, give me legends Chop Shop in purple with a new face sculpt and I'll just figure it out myself.
>>6023907
I think it would need to be 5 different figures, I highly doubt they could make it be a torso, arm, or leg. It probably wouldn't be worth the effort, but if they could make 5 legion sized figures that made for a competent combiner it would be very cool.
Honestly, I'm not sure there's a design I wouldn't want a figure of. Filch, who's a proper beast former and who never really had any resolution could be a new female on the show, saberhorn, the octopus would be amazing, the shark as well, etc.
>>6023925
The shoulder pads look like the shin armor, so the arm mode would just be an upside down leg. The chest however would need to be the shoulder/chin guard with four hollow points around the torso so each arm and leg and plug into it, given each arm and leg would share the same four hollow points.. This is a little complicated but if they would figure out a SD robot mode from a single spider it could be work the effort
>>6023934
If he just had 5mm holes on his soles and his shoulders and a peg on the end of his bug abdomen it would be doable.
It would basically work like CW where the arms would have the bot legs extended to work as elbows and the legs would stay folded up and just bend at the bug head to form feet.
>>6023947
I tried drawing it. Eh
>>6023617
I know this is likely a Warrior, but is it not a Warrior?
>>6024004

>>6024004
It is. A remold of Megatronus.
>>6023558
No one fucking asked,
>>6023955
Maybe? Would definitely be interesting and I'd love to see them try. I'm really liking the new wave, but hopefully they don't ignore classic RiD as well, cause there's still a lot of fun stuff there.
Ok back home
Just pulled him out and will get more pictures soon
So far I'm reluctant he looks fine without his ear tuffs but as you see with them up he looks off

Plane mode
Well this is shiny and covered in stickers
>>6024065
I want to fuck that cripple

It isn't nearly as bad as you're making it out to be.
>>6024067
>those beyond awful decal applications
There goes all my fucking desire for this toy
>>6024067
I swear takara better either do a nemesis prime repaint, a tampo'd version of this or go straight into a tampo'd octane!
>>6024073
It will probably look better once it's used for its proper release, instead of this shit-tier cash grab.
>>6023813
>>6023814
Optimus is a Triplechanger. That jet is one of his modes. It even clearly points it out on the front of the box in the upper left hand corner. Even Stevie Wonder could see it. Him being a Triplechanger has been common knowledge since the first picturs of him surfaced MONTHS ago.
You fucking goddamn retard.
>>6024079
Yeah, I can only hope Octane makes better use of the mold than Optimus.
Truck mode
Diac drives in the gas tank
Looks solid considering the it had to hide all those wings
>>6024085
Nice design, but looks really plain in truck mode.
>>6024067
I wonder if they could retool the jet mode more to become a passenger plane?
I know the hollows of the legs have limited space for the jet front to fold over but what else could they do, when we talk about rewtooling we only ever talk about the head and chest, never the vehicle modes
Look guys it's Longarm's evil brother
>>6024085
How did you get yor wings to snap into place in truck mode? Mine seem to have two little squares at the end that don't lock into place and instead push against each other.
>>6024096
So why is the chest flat?
Would look a lot better if had a curve to it.
>>6024096
is that the maximum wing extension?
Voyager Octane Optimus also looks the best with Loudmouth as the head. The Gray and Red for Loudmouth are the exact same shades as Optimus.
>>6024099
I have no clue sadly I just followed the instructions and it came together
I'll look at it here again soon and share if I find anything
>>6024101
It makes the back of the plane and the bottom of the cab.
Any other questions or request?
>>6023835
>repaints
There were only one Autobot "Repaint", Smokescreen. All the others at least had new heads, making them REMOLDS, not repaints
>>6024099
So mine has tabs the connect to the blue part to make the cab and stabilize the wings
>>6024103
90 degrees is the max.
>>6023861
It did quite well for DECADES. If it was good enough for kids THEN, then it's good enough for kids NOW.

>>6023881
He's not.

>>6024232
Better yet
>TR Seekers
>all have same colored parts on all of the TM's but!
>Starscream comes with a smirking smug face
>Thundercracker with a default unemotional face
>Skywarp comes with an angry face
And thus you get a trio of Seekers with a "faceswap" gimmick.

This could also building up to Revolution stuff.
At this rate I wouldn't bat an eye to the third theme being Revolution series and they have a TF brand that is constantly cross referencing Gijoe, MASK, etc
>>6024318
Takara will probably just release it as such since they are already doing CarRobots Baldigus.
>>6024238
Great now I have to live with the knowledge that Hasbro could have very easily done it but didn't. I will always think to what could have been but only see what is as I play around with my Blurr repaints and RiD figures. Thanks Anon.
>>6024400
Theres always time for more molds, Anon. Especially when a single Seeker mold could easily turn into pic related once again.
>>6024500
That reminds me...
Why the HELL hasn't the Gen. Jihaxus mold been reused for something else? Id love to see a trio of digital camo painted Rainmakers out of it.
I keep hoping to find him super cheap somewhere (like $5-6usd) to buy up a bunch and try my hand at painting them up as something.
>>6024111
retool/repaint whatever, the end result is the same when it's done like that.
>>6024186
No, trademarks on toys and in printed media are different categories
>>6024168
Hey, that wouldn't make a half bad Thunderclash
>>6024134
I'm not talking about that. Like, in the cartoon Optimus Prime's legs don't have wheels, because the faggot character designer was too lazy to draw them. So now MP10 has to figure out how to make the wheels disappear, never mind that for 25-30 years we all know wheels look good on legs
>>6024504
It was used as Starscream too.
But honestly I'd like some new Deluxe Seekers. Came in to the game way too late to get any of them.
>>6024535
I don't suppose the RID15 style is to your liking?
>>6024539
It's not bad except for the face. One of my only gripes with the Prime/RiD stylizations is the weird flat, noseless face thing they do with everyone.
>>6024539
If you don't I would at least recommend trying them out. Quite an interesting transformation and a fun figure at the end of it. And though the chest looks fake, it is actually a part of the vehicle mode's window.
>>6024523
Less forgetting and more about working with constraints. Every piece added to a character model would be one extra thing that has to be drawn. TF was a big challenge for western media back then due to the scale of the robots and the fact that every robot was shape shifting into a car/plane/camera so something had to give and that something was simplifying the design.
Most other Sunbow shows didn't suffer the scale issues and the two forms for every single character(usually it was one or none at all) so they were a lot more detailed and stayed closer to toy model.
>it's a takara wins again episode
>>6024545
I never had a problem with "fake" parts. It is a toy after all, you do what you've gotta to make it look good and play well. I'd rather have a fake part and better toy than a compromised figure for the sake of something being "real".
>>6024557
Well, it was one of the easiest repaints to do. Hopefully whatever money they make on Baldigus they put towards some crazy good Liokaiser like everyone is wishing for.
Also someone should update this old thing with all of the CW/UW stuff so far.
>>6024565
Unlikely. It's all but confirmed this is the last set. I hope I'm wrong but as it stands this may be it.
>>6024559
Fair enough, but the merging of both worlds results in a nicer product I feel, especially when stowed away neatly. The only kibble on this guy is part of his nosecone on his back.
>>6024557
I still think it's hilarious they didn't even bother to make new guns, they just straight up tossed UW Scattershots guns, and a bunch of UW Construticon guns.
>>6024581
Another omen this is the end of the line, it feels like a last huzza at money and not much else.
>>6024583
It depends on how the next set of UW comics end. They seem to have gone full TT mall exclusive since Computron, and if the Baldigus comic resolves the whole thing, than that might be it for the line.
I really want them to make a Leokaiser but that just isn't likely.
>>6024588
The comics are not the best determent of an ending many cliffhangers have happen that never get resolved before.
>>6023536
Honestly I would love to see a Hot Shot repaint out of that mold
>>6024557
This will never not be ugly.
>>6024602
True, we're still waiting for that Metrowars continuation, but the UW comic seems self contained.
>>6024062
>Wanting extreme articulation on toys made for preschoolers
>>6024576
That would make no sense when Hasbro of all people would do a Liokaiser but Takara wouldn't.
>>6024609
>takara
>making sense
lel
>>6024603
This mold has a lot of repaint/remold potential. Hopefully we get something neat. Hotshot would be a good option you're right.
>>6024610
They wouldn't even need to bother with doing new heads. Straight up repaints for 4 of the figures, and then a whole new combiner torso.
>>6024609
Stranger things have happen.
Also keep in mind most Hasbro buyers have no attachment to the original bot so it's adjustments have little impact.
>>6024617
>Straight up repaints
Not exactly, they can use two Skydive's for Hellbat and Guyhawk, Takara Nosecone for Drillhorn, but Killbison would need retooling no matter what they picked (Brawl or Nosecone would be my picks).
Then a new torso, then their breast animals, plus their nunchuck things....
>>6024617
That makes sense. So Takara won't do it. Instead, you get garish ugly shite like Baldigus, who's name sounds like the villain of hair loss.
>>6023526
Probably way beyond budget constraints for the line, but I wish they had molded his flame weapons in transparent orange/yellow plastic like this Lego piece here. Oh well, seems like a good little custom project to attempt.
>>6024626
>yfw a kid raised on Car Robots is old enough to post on 2chan
>>6024617
A whole new torso would cost a good amount
Look at Baldigus here, none of his weapons are show accurate and are just recycled parts. If they won't give the little and cheap details with him what real chance is there they will waste energy on a new two bot torso?
>>6024626
>Baldigus, who's name sounds like the villain of hair loss
Why is this so funny to me?
>>6024631
Anon a kid raised on 2001 RiD is old enough to post here.
Say they were 4 when it was out, they are 19 now.
>>6024642
>implying they care about the age restriction and haven't been posting since they were 15 anyways
>>6024609
Read up on Transformers Cybertron. In Japan there were several toys they didn't get even though the animation was made publish in Japan and the toys were drained by Takara team.
>>6024630
It'd be pretty easy to mold and cast them in some red and yellow resin.
>>6024644
I'm just saying OP post is odd since anyone born in 98 is an adult now, come next year it will be 99. Hell in 2020 we will see a whole generation of a adults that were born after 9-11.

>>6024021
Oh. That's kinda dumb.
>>6024675
What makes it dumb?
>>6024688
Sorry, I forgot retools are Hasbro's thing these days.
I mean, it's not a huge deal. Megatronus is considered one of the best RiD figs, right?
>>6024690
>Sorry, I forgot retools are Hasbro's thing these days.
By these days do you mean for the entirety of the transformers line? At least Bludgeon has a bunch of new parts.
And yes, Megatronus is a pretty nice mold imo.
>>6024693
Yeh, it wasn't long ago that instead of retool we got repaint, so I'm pretty happy with it, especially when they're extensive like they've been with quite a few figures recently.

So does anyone here feel like Titans Return was refined quite a bit during the design process?
Most of the Wave 1 figures had a big, unwieldy gun-sled thing and a more normal gun. Some of the Wave 2's started switching over to combining guns, which looked a lot better than having one giant, horizontally flat gun and one normal weapon. Now Wave 3 looks to be mostly combining guns.
>>6024734
Both TR and even RiD have been getting better each wave. It's pretty cool.
>>6024740
Did CW do so well that TR got a bigger budget, or was it just that designing the CW figures took up so much of the budget due to each one having to be arm/leg/vehicle/bot or vehicle/body/bot?
It definitely feels like they're slinging more money around this time, one way or another.
>>6024734
But Hardhead, Blurr, and Skullcruncher all have guns that are essential to their alt modes. Wave 2 and 3 have way more sledguns that look about as awkward as CW handfootguns.
>>6024745
Blurr's sledgun would've probably just been a non-removeable piece if it didn't have to be a weird sled, and using it as a sled seems like a bad idea anyway due to it being painted on what would be the sled bottom.
Hardhead's design is great all around. Skullcruncher is just using his G1 tail in a slightly different way.
>>6024657
I just finished watching his reviews of all the wave 3 deluxes. He practically creamed himself over Triggerhappy, and so did I.
I posted this last thread, but I still can't get over this crew. Definitely my favorite of TR, and going by the current forecast, will be for quite sometime, unless some of the wave 4+ stuff really blows me away.
Per one anon's recommendation, I ordered the nonnef feet upgrade for Hardhead, but I feel like they'll actually ruin his proportions a bit. People complain he's too short, but I think it makes him look stout and powerful.
>>6024745
Agree. Nothing beats Hardhead's integration of his cannon into both modes. Probably the best titanmaster interaction as well.
>>6023526
>>6024657
...Am I the only one that actually prefers the RID design over the TR one?
The RID's dragon-head arms look way better in robot mode because they don't have that awkward gorilla-curls design. If you were to curl up the TR bot's arms, you'd get upside-down dragon heads.
The exhaust flames / swords are also way more fun than the guns.
>>6024758
Not at all. Doublecross looks a bit dumpy, but Twinferno is swoosh as fuck. I'm primarily a geewun collector, but I know which one I'm getting. Who'd have thought that G1 accuracy doesn't always make a great toy?
>>6024758
They both look good and are two different kinds of figures. One is essentially an upgraded version of the old toy while the other is an homage with quite an interesting twist. I like both.
Got Alpha Trion. Lion mode is a gimp but that ship is surprising great looking. Looks like it would be a real capital ship of some fleet.

LAMELAMELAMELAME.
Should Grimlock be a voyager, or a leader? IDW he seems about the same size as Optimus, but maybe I'm wrong.
>>6024878
Leader, he's a big guy.
The other dinobots should also be leaders (sludge especially) or Voyagers if we can't do that.
>>6024878
Very large voyager. Planet X got his size perfect.
>>6024878
If optimus prime is leader class, grimlock should be as large as a turkey. Happy thanksgiving.
>>6024657
there was like a pile of Amazon shops that had all of wave 3 last week
They all sold out fast but they were still there
>>6024915
Optimus should never be Leader sized. That's way too fucking big.
>>6024734
>>6024740
>>6024743
TR is actaully following closely to CW in terms of recycling and retooling
Wave 3 CW had 4 new molds 3 heavy retools, 1 head retool, and 1 straight repaint
Wave 3 TR(not counting TMs) has 5 new molds 2 heavy retools, 1 head retool, and 1 straight repaint
However TR seems fresher/better becuase it's not chained down by the limb/torso challenge CW had going on
>>6024878
Grimlock can be whatever size he wants, we had the foc in voyager, we had a deluxe in classics, personally a leader would be fantastic but no bigger than that.
In the transformers toy line we'll see everyone in another size at some point.
>>6024891
Knowing hastak they'll be voyagers, missed opportunity lately was making scourge voyager so him cyclonus and galvatron can scale with each other
>>6024915
>Happy thanksgiving
Its too early anon but here, have a turkimus prime.
Really though, they can be whatever size they want but we really need to keep it to the current 4 size classes, and grimlock shouldn't be titan sized, as long as he doesn't get another deluxe any time soon he should be right, I'd be happy if him and his whole crew were all voyagers.
>>6024924
PMOP works because its a powered up form, otherwise you're correct though we will see prime in other size classes...I mean we did get 2 giant hollow as fuck giant optimus toys
>>6024657
Well I found Voyager Prime in stores so it's not a stretch delexes are out too.
>>6024868
Having a dumb and not sure what you mean by "Pylons out"
>>6024934
The shoulder thingies, fold those downward so only the red shoulder is visible.
(I seen what this looks like before but I'm pretty sure anon doesn't want to watch an optibotimus review like i painfully did)
>>6024938
Ah! That makes sense
>>6024942
Welcome...what's also welcome is the future octane retool.
Better be more than a head only retool
>>6024044
>Optimus with wings
>Turns into a long nose cab with trailer
Fucking Nova Prime repaint when?
>>6024949
>nova prime repaint instead of scourge
T-T-TAKARA!
>>6024948
Heavy retooling is guaranteed with these triple-changer faction leaders. Their current versions have too many parts with character-specific detailing. Just look at Megatron here.
>>6024934
The mold looks good (crummy jet mode aside) but the stickers are a deal breaker. I'll wait to see if Takara does a Scourge from him.
>>6024934
Damn, is that the only way the wings can fold out?
>>6024953
It'll probably be just chest panels at most, maybe new weapons.
>>6024955
If we're lucky the octane retooling will give him a new set of wings
>>6024953
I swear if takara wants to make use of this moldit BETTER redeco this megatron into a g2 variant, camo and green.
I already have the silver cw, I want a good meaningful g2 megatron
I bring the UW baldigus comic
>>6024967
>unicron has a combiner peg
KEK
Who would win if they fight? Baldigus or Bruticus?
>>6024971
As expected, they turned on unicron.
Despite scourge's appearance GRAND scourge has joined the fray
>>6024970
The one with the shuttle
>>6024970
Probably Baldigus/Ruination. Bruticus is dumb as a sack of hammers whilst Baldigus is s at the very least competent.
>>6024972
To be continued?
>>6024975
Perhaps, that's all there was at this time I'm afraid
>>6024967
I like the moment Roller has with Convoy here.
>>6024977
Maybe not though, they didn't really hint at anything new this time.
>>6024979
Toy wise no, still feels incomplete story wise.
>>6024981
What's your issue with it?
>>6024989
So hasbro blurr is more your thing then?
>>6024980
Most Takrara ad comics are like that, the fact they end it with Grand Scourge is pretty telling this could be the end, you just make a final story of those two fighting and decided how things work out.
Alternatively they might be doing a reprint of Grand Scourge
>>6024067
The wings are supposed to go on front. Although this kind of looks better.
>>6024994
I doubt they would seeing how he's an e-hobby exclusive unless they pull a fast one and give us a limb from each of the exclusive sets in one big horrible box set.
Frankly I'm still pissed mine's leg ratchets are fucked from just standing there
>>6024997
This is a pic from cybertron con, and cg renders don't vary much other than the viewing angle.
I think anon got it right, he did mention he followed the instructions...for whatever good they do anyway (have the tr manuals had any errors as of late?)
>>6025002
Like this.
>>6025002
Nope, that pose also got it wrong, although, again, this looks better. But there is a groove for the wing in front.
It's almost certainly a pretool for Octane.
I am a little disappointed in the wings and the tail, while overall being really happy with the figure. The legs are amazing.
Just bought TR Weirdwolf, haven't had a chance to open him yet but I remember someone mentioning you need to mod him a bit?
Something to do with the cockpit canopy I think.
>>6025012
I couldn't even work out where the wings went before I saw the review.
I can appreciate why they didn't do it the way the original did: it would have left Optimus with some big fucking wings sticking out.
>>6025002
>(have the tr manuals had any errors as of late?)
Here's an honest question:
When was the last time you used Transformers instruction manuals, /tfg/?
>>6025015
What are your thoughts on Legends Ginrai?
I hope PE releases mustard yellow hands and feet for Ruination, if only because the hands and feet he comes with look awful. Though I reckon he'd look OK with the grey set.
That aside though I'm totally getting Ruination/Baldigus over either version of Bruticus. More weapons, better colours (IMO) and it's fucking Ruination! I'll be giving him the weapons from my old Fansproject Colossus set, provided the PE hands can hold them.
>>6025018
Where QCs are so common I normally look over them to make sure I won't break or damage anything.
>>6025018
I recently got all 3 of the recent RiD tru exclusive warrior classes and had to use portions for both starscream (wing connection) and paralon (didn't realize how the head folded in).
And yet I was able to blindly transform masterpiece ratchet, with only a glance at the box because I forgot to flip up the chrome rear bumpers on his feet, was thinking something was stupid here until I realized it was me
>>6024970
Baldigus. He had more firepower and wasn't completely stupid.
>>6025023
>That mold as PMOP or Ginrai is shite
What's wrong with it, its genuinely quite involved or is it the fact its so chunky that it limits articulation?
People here loved the magnus mold and after getting a cheap PMOP I can see why, but I'm just curious on the first person I've seen here thought it was bad?
>>6025026
As Magnus it's fine. As PMOP/Ginrai it's clear retool fodder, and Ginrai is even worse because of it lacking feet and having poor leg proportions.
Also, plenty of people here think both PMOP and Ginrai are trash. The backlash when both were unveiled lasted several threads for a reason.
>>6025028
Does the engineering and transformation+feet give it away as retool fodder?
Hrm, the deco is kinda bland on PMOP especially on the chest, ginrai while subjective...I can totally understand the homage to the feet on the old toy/anime can be a problem for most
>>6025035
The fact that the sillhouette on PMOP is exactly the same gives it away.
PMOP suffers from blandness, Ginrai suffers from tastelessness. Both are shit for different reasons.
>>6025037
What figures DO you like?
>>6025040
Not him but (for once) I can agree with him.
I'm a prime faggot but his complaints on both are valid, and this is coming from a guy who's willing to overlook their flaws and buy both just because they're both separate characters.
He's entitled to his opinion, he stated valid reasons
>>6025043
Agreed, but I had become curious.
My own taste is.. well, a bit hamstrung by my autistic desire to own (almost) all Optimus Prime figures. It makes me want to know what is considered a quality figure by more discerning tastes.
>>6025047
Could be worse, I own all rid warrior optimus redeco's and retools (well, almost all of the retools), one of each from pic related and when hasbro and takara give us skywarp and dirge I'll have my complete mp seeker collaboration.
I have the desires to want all of this crap but I still acknowledge the flaws they all have
Also I think we've seen your collection before optimus anon (if you're the one who posted a picture of all optimus's before), you have fine taste, if not still mighty fine, you gonna get the tav micron legends optimus's as well or just sticking with one of the power surge prime mold?
>>6025047
Do you get all versions of all molds, or is one per mold fine?
e.g. Did you feel compelled to get Legends Nemesis Prime? Universe II G1 Optimus (with the stubby smokestacks)? Single-release Deluxe Animated Prime?
>>6024989
So pretend he's named Valdigus or Ruination
Fuck's sake Baldigus is just an Engrish of Bruticus anyway
>>6024989
>Garish colors
That's what his colours are though, you're angry that they're accurate?
>>6025079
they're the same character though
How would takara pull off an eventual mp galvatron?
Lately they're keeping mp's at a point where no parts forming is involved (like mp shockwave, while his back isn't accurate no parts forming is required), how would they tackle the cannon going from his arm to where his neck is, or would they resort to some fake sections like some 3p's are using?
I'm watching the fanstoys sovereign review and it got me thinking
>>6025097
There could be an armature going from the cannon to his collar. The cannon is still pulled off of the neck area and plugged into the arm, but you never actually take it off of him.
New >>6025108
>>6025051
Well, I bought TAV-33... and I think I will get the Power Surge one, too; the Japanese deco is so much better. And while the alt mode is a piece of piss, the robot mode is pretty damn good (But that truck cab kibble, what the hell?).
>>6025059
...I tend to get multiple versions of the same mold, if the recolor is nice enough (Classics vs Henkei) or if there is a retool. ...
Not Nemesis Prime, because he is a separate character.
I should do a group shot of the boys again...
>>6025079
>Correct. I don't like his colors at all.
I'd think that to be a valid reason if this was the first Baldingus figure ever and there was no expectation to what he should look like, but that's simply not the case here.
It's like being upset about a new Optimus Prime being red and blue.
>>6025079
Actaully Ruination is the gold one from the RiD cartoon
>>6025097
What?
His cannon would be separate just like megs.
>>6025022
This.
>>6025018
Always on MPs. They can be stiff and finicky, especially on the first transformation. Would rather not risk breaking one. Retail stuff, the instructions go right in the trash.
So. Any date on the RiD wave? Or up for pre-order anywhere?
>>6027451
Middle of next year.
>>6027556
If it doesn't get fucked by movie toys, btw.
>>6029496
Fuck off, you retard.
>>6029500
Nah.
>>6029506
>Nah.
Nah.
>>6024607
I never said extreme. 2-point shoulder articulation, tops. Thats really all Im asking. But we can't even get THAT.
I refuse to believe that a pre-school TF can't be made with auto transform and STILL lift it's arms. Go-Go Gobots did it. Rescue Roy did it. Even 1-2-3 Transformers did it.
All these smaller toys that are meant to serve as tools and equipment, yet the robots they go with cant even lift their arms to freaking USE them
Shoulder articulation. It cant be that hard for them to do
>>6024630
>Probably way beyond budget constraints for the line
Has the cost of cocaine and shemale prostitutes really have gone up THAT much for Hasbro to cut corners like they have?
>>6025018
I haven't used any for Combiner Wars or Titan Masters because they keep printing them grey on black and my eyes can't make out what's going on.
It's time to bring this thread into the ground!
>>6029737
I'll be honest, those piledrivers look kinda weak.
>>6029708
Yeah, the rescue bots figures are pretty terrible. The old Playskool Go-bots where fantastic; great and chunky and durable, lots of color, some actually pretty clever transformations. Also a nice variety of alt-modes. The Rescuebots are very cheap feeling, light weight and dull. I have a 2 year old nephew and have just given him old Go-bots instead of the newer stuff because they're even easier to handle and transform in his tiny hands.
>>6029739
They're okay. I'm just glad that there's a way for him to do the pile drivers at all; that and the sweet head sculpt were what convinced me to get him over Rewind.
Is this thread finally dead?
>>6023739
Nope. Smyths are clearing out the few wave 2 they have. I got PM Prime cheap due to it.
Should be within 2 weeks wave 3 shows up.
>>6023739
Wave 3?
Where the fuck is WAVE 2?
