And now we await GMK goji and whatever follows
Will you get him?
This, all he did was remind japan of all atrocities they committed during WWII. But then some weak-ass "Guardians" got in his way and learnt their lesson.
Also, don't swallow submarines.
Does this count and would you want this figure?
GMK is one of my favorite Godzilla movies, next to Biollante. It's well made, it feels like a proper movie, and I found myself actually giving a shit about the humans in it.
Plus Godzilla looks great.
This is the only merch of this film that exists in the whole world.
How does it feel knowing we've had all these reprints and we STILL have no Showa MG or Anguirus
You can debate that megalon or whoever won't sell outside the states, but those two are literally classics of the series.
I don't have space for two MonsterArt Godzillas, which one should I keep?
90s(re-release)- My Godzilla growing up so lots of nostalgia for it.
2000 - More "realistic" and a design I like very much.
>this late in teh game
>still no Godzilla's Best nigga or mg1
Just bought a Japanese dvd of 1974 godzilla vs mechagodzilla off ebay from Connecticut seller
seller said it had english subtitles
I have my fingers crossed because the blu rays don't even have English subtitles
Do they ever rerelease figures? I want a king ghidorah but not on the aftermarket
Also JET JAAAGGUUAAAAA
Where do I buy??? Amiami only has second hand ghidorahs
Okay Kaiju General I'd like to get a chibi Godzilla or Mecha Godzilla, which would you suggest?
I'm also in the market for anything reasonably priced of M-1 from Ultra Q, know of a decent figure?
If you wanna go american, Bandai Creation put out a Nijmegen of chibis awhile back
>Shingoji monsterarts when?
All shitposting aside, I'm excited as fuck for this one. Like, this is the first design since Biollante that I've actually wanted in physical form.
Only reason I could think of is different people approved the pop one and some other guy just shot down neca. That or it had to do with the pricing of the figure or some sort of avaibility.
Because Funko are goofy chibi looking things who just wanted to repaint the same base figure. So it's a "whatever" thing.
NECA makes realistic representations of Godzilla designs, and Toho never made a Ghost Godzilla for them to base a figure on, and has no interest in the other two being made.
>"special color version" is the last G2K SHMA we will ever get
>GMK Godzilla is the last Millennium SHMA we will ever get
holy shit fuck that. tamashii dont be faggots and actually do this
OFFICIAL TAMASHII RELEASES FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS:
KING GHIDORAH WITH MIDDLE HEAD STUMP
BATTLE DAMAGED SPACEGODZILLA
SPACE BATTLE MOGUERA WITH 1 LEG REMOVED
BATTRA WITH MUSTARD BLOOD ON NECK
GLITTER GODZILLA 1993
BLUE MELTDOWN GODZILLA 1995
JUNIOR WITH NECK WOUND
Look at him.
LOOK AT HIM!
He looks like he was birthed from a moonshine still exploding!
He'd probably talk like Jack McBrayer!
"GAWWWWWWWWWLEEEEE COUSIN ZILLA, Y'ALL GOT SUM FANCY LIGHTING IN THE BIG CITY!!"
Angry Frenchman detected.
Is that line different in the original Japanese or what?
I mean they said the suit was in too bad of shape to do the scene, but they still shot a scene of the suit at the end.
I'm unreasonably mad about no Anguiras. He's like my favorite fuckin monster. There's no reasonable reason to not make him. Instead we get a million different Godzillas and repaints, which wouldn't be so shitty if we got ANYTHING ELSE.
I'm unreasonably mad about no shockirus. He's like my favorite fuckin monster. There's no reasonable reason to not make him. Instead we get a million different Godzillas and repaints, which wouldn't be so shitty if we got ANYTHING ELSE.
I just want a SHMA Megalon and regular Kiryu reissue, and I'd be okay t b h
You can see visible tears in it when it's not fixed like that.
These once fantastic beast of our imagination, that glowed on our TV screens, kept us entertained. These Goliaths of fantasy.
Monsters and alien beast who survived the bombing of artillery shells, flames, and other elements.
Beast that seemed immortal, neigh unstoppable. Beast that warred with each other and human kind for their rightful place on Earth.
The battles they waged, the roars that echo'd in our mind as they fought, tooth and nail, to victory. Only one thing could stop these mastodons of destruction.
The one thing that slowly drained them of life. The one thing that sapped away their energy.
The one thing that threatens us all. The one thing these beast could not defeat. Could not triumph over.
>Ultraman has a giant Kamen Rider bike.
Did they ever make plush or hard dolls of these adorable little fuckers?
I used to hate them because King Ghidorah is a SPACE MONSTER, not a MUTANT. So I headcanoned them as being made from the DNA of an actual Space Monster King Ghidorah so that they knew what they'd be capable of.
Then background infromation proved I was right.
>The Dorats were genetically engineered to be the perfect pets in the 23rd century. According to the Japanese novelization of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, the Dorats were engineered from genetic material recovered from King Ghidorah's preserved corpse on Venus by the Futurians.
Back in '92, a sequel for Godilla vs. King Ghidorh was planned, with a second Heisei KG coming from space. One detail that would've tied the two would've been humans taking some DNA from KG and implying they'd so something with it; i.e. create the Dorats. Mothra's popularity n a poll made them scrap it in favor of a Mothra movie. Since it was never made, how canon that info would be is anyone's guess.
Anyway, I actually like the little nods to Showa KG's alien tis in GvsKG. The Futurians have a sip that looks like a UFO called the mothership, not unlike the Kilaaks or Xillians. It's like they wanted to do a more nuanced version of that for the Heisei era, foregoing the humanoid aliens for the timetravel explanation, but still making them "alien" to the time and place.
Also, The Controller of Planet X and Mr. Shindo are played by the same actor.
In the original script Ghidorahs body is found on another planet after fleeing earth from fighting Godzilla. It was stated that the dorats were created artificially in the future too
Gorosaurus was meant to be Baragon in that scene.
So are the people at Toho still being assholes, or are they going to release something soon?
>no monsters only Godzilla
>no NECA no Ghost Godzilla for you, but Funko you okay
>here is another recolor of Godzilla enjoy
im really anxious to see NECAs new Godzilla at toyfair
Im afraid its gonna dip down in quality like their earlier godzillas. Their last one was 100% perfect, I hope they didn't peak
were also totally getting a colored variant of 1954 for sure
Looks like NECA's back on the menu, boys!
>tfw we might get a new Showa or millennium G from NECA
>Nickname IRL is literally Hedorah
>I can't afford this figure
Thank God someone has taste in this thread. I'd like a Zilla figure too.
It's strange since the PS4 game has models for them made, and the game itself is basically just animated SH MonsterArts figures.
So Anguirus, Mechagodzilla, Jet Jaguar, Hedorah, and Showa Rodan would probably be based on their game appearance.
Why can't they realize he'd sell like hotcakes? Both fans and people who may dislike Zilla would still buy him.
>Why can't they realize he'd sell like hotcakes? Both fans and people who may dislike Zilla would still buy him.
Seriously, what leap of logic is that? "They hate it but they'll totally buy it! Honest!"
not all the models in that game were made by 3d scanning monsterarts.
Like Jet Jaguar. In an interview the director of the game said that a staff member made Jet Jaguar for shits and giggles and the whole team liked it so much they put it in the game
This guy>>5420967 is actually partially right.
IIRC, the 98 godzilla toyline was a huge loss for Trendmasters, and was one of the reasons they went under years later
>inb4 years later = no connection
It was 2001 iirc, I imagine it made it so they lost many deals, no doubt also doing the bomb lost in space hurt thwm
with the sheer amount of hate that movie gets, I doubt it would be very profitable.
I mean, I would totally get a NECA zilla, but c'mon, thats one of the most shunned Godzilla movies. Would toho even approve it? They despise that movie the most, and they're super picky and safe when it comes to what they decide to approve or not.
Yeah, and they kept buying monster license.
>We would have had Gorosaurus, Manda, Kamacuras, Kumonga, Destoroyah, water gun Hedorah, and Gabara in the Japanese Godzilla line.
>We would have gotten C-Rex, Cyber Zilla, Mutant Rats, Quetzal, Robo-Yeti, King Cobra and El Gusano for the Godzilla animated series.
Look how buff Manda is.
>I mean, I would totally get a NECA zilla
Same. Without a second's thought. But I won't pretend that it proooobably wouldn't be a big seller for them. 98 gets love now from hardcore kaiju fans, but not so sure about the general public. It's still considered the "bad Godzilla" film.
At this point it's an artifact from the 90s like ID4. It didn't have staying power behind nostalgia by its fans. Starship troopers might be in the same category but it's fanbase is pretty loyal
Isnt he kinda in scale with the monsterarts?
This is very true, and it is unfair of me to through it all on Neca because im sure Toho wouldnt approve it.
My only other argument would be even though its hated every Neca product (at least to my knowledge) seems to sell. The only one I can think of is the planet of the apes line but they had no problems doing that while it sold poorly.
Then base other off of fucking Final Wars Zilla or the Jr one from the cartoon series. I'm desperate over here.
I'm heading over to Toho, wish us luck.
I think a '98 Godzilla monsterarts would be cool, but as far as Neca goes, the 6'' Trendmasters toys are about as good sculpt as the Neca would be,and paintwise probably better, minus the orange eyes
HOLY SHIT I ACTUALLY GOT QUADS.
I WILL RIDE ETERNAL, CHARCOAL AND GREY
Thanks /toy/, thanks to you guys I managed to WB the first to leak this stuff on social media
Feels gud nigga
>What kills me is Neca can technicly do Zilla and they wont.
No they can't. To do Zilla they have to clear it through Toho and Centropolis, because Toho doesn't own the design, and Centropolis doesn't own the name.
No, the Godzilla '98 figures actually had some very nice paint apps, even compared to today. Have you checked them out again lately? All sorts of lovely fades and tones. Seriously a high point for Trendmasters.
and of course someone trolls with a bunch of brightly colored TM toys.
>"I don't need it...I don't need it..."
>"I DON'T NEED IT...I DON'T NEED IT....I DON'T NEED IT..."
Possessed or not, he was a huge asshole. You may like him, I don't and whichever way I don't really care. I'd prefer a KiryuGoji or FW Godzilla though Gyaos or Irys would have been a great surprise instead of yet another Godzilla.
It's a web exclusive so you'll be able to get it from American retailers.
At first I thought they were rereleasing 2000 again. It looks like they took GMK's fatty and added in a lot of 2000. His worked off his beer gut that's for sure.
And at least he wont have googly eyes.
Just convert the price yourself.
>you little shits want a new toy huh?
>better bend over and get ready for a Godzilla sized ass rape
So I guess monsterarts isn't dead then?
But, they're keeping the same price point, if not potentially jacking it up?
I dunno guys, it kinda feels like they're killing the line purposely at this point.
>Or is it.. HUBRIS??
>first few Neca gojis were pretty good, but had their share of flaws
>54 Goji comes out and has a perfect paint sculpt, perfect articulation, and even a matte finish. Only flaw was the short tail
>tfw NECA GMK is just as good as 54 and fixes the tail length too
Please NECA, be the hero gotham deserves
It's not like good things never happen. I got the 2014 monsterarts for only $45 and Gigan dropped to 50 a while back. If Neca doesn't pull through there's always the chance of a price drop
either becuase they want to make it more like the concept statues where he was intended to be more huntched over, or they are concealing something...
>kiryugoji is pissed that japs are using the bones of his speices for something
>while Gmk goji is literally a tool used by ghosts
its better to keep some of godzilla's personality in the dark. somethigns are better left outside the boundry of human understanding (movie context, anyway)
He's about $75
The last non repaint Godzilla was 2014, which was at Bluefin's MSRP of $68. Birth ver. before that, at $67. Note this is a web exclusive and not a repaint. Factoring in repaints, Spitfire was $70, and G64 Dirty ver was $64. Negligible price difference.
>not living in America
That's your fault.
No it was a documentary featuring interviews regarding Kaiju Tokusatsu and independent films such as Godzilla vs the Beast Wolfman, Gamera 4, and Zella: Monster Martial Law. Rewards were promised as early as Q1 of 2015 but were never received or even implied to be shit, and communication with the group has basically been near non-existent.
Just look up "Kaiju Gaiden" on Kickstarter (Which is run by David) and Facebook (Mark)
Supposedly the director's been canned by the project from Mark for taking the finances and running, but the stories between David Hall's (director) party and Mark differ so who knows what really happened.
The narrative right now is that Mark is in the right because he's a "trustworthy" old head in the fandom and worked with John Desentis whom actually had two successful Kickstarters, where as David Hall is just some young nobody filmmaker.
Nope. Not an apologist. It's, ya know, common sense.
Looking at it all now, it looks like one huge fucking mess. The simple question is if there was no issue in the first place, why would this have happened? Someone was being a jerkoff, and it's either the guy who has a nice track record... or someone who can't even be bothered to use proper grammar in an official message to the backers on kikestarter.
kiryu godzilla didnt giv a fuck bout the bones. it was wrecking their shit before they made the robot and mothra implied he would attack even if they got rid of it. mothra was the one that cared about the bones
>it was wrecking their shit before they made the robot
Yeah, because the Japanese government found the first Godzilla's bones and brought them into Tokyo. That's why he made his first attack in 1999.
Anyone else caved in and bought revo Baragon? I have a feeling he's gonna be rare soon because of GMK's announcement, and I'm still kicking myself over not getting their Rodan when I could have
Haven't even watched GMK yet. I'll probably have to watch the 1954 original before I do so for a quick recap
